A bulletin board in Camp Discovery in Adventure Isle at Shanghai Disneyland includes information on Preston B. Whitmore, Whitmore Industries, and the lost Milo expedition.

As the text isn't entirely viewable here I will look into whether it would be possible to acquire better copies.

Here’s close ups on some of the board details.

First pic - features Atlantis reference with Milo missing and Whitmore’s financing of the LoA. Also introduces us to a major recurring League character, the engineer Cooter Carter.

Second pic - Encapsulates the sheer ridiculousness of the League with one of their dog explorers testing out a submersible. I love it! Note also the submersible is of Cooter Carter’s design.

Third - Great vintage style magazine depicting a LoA submersible - there’s also one featuring an airship.

Fourth - Assorted Expedition Everest ties. Note the yeti photo. There’s also a news clipping mentioning the time frame and that the project on Everest was not related to what we actually do on the ride.

Fifth - The best shot I have of the newspaper page (The cage makes it hard to get a closer shot head on). Left side is the headline about the Hollywood Tower Hotel incident, pretty much describing the backstory we get from the TV. The right side article gives a humorous anecdote about the League helping discover the temple and Indy basically shutting them down and chasing them out after they prove unprepared for the dangers. Also talks about them driving through the temple, obviously referring to the ride. Photo is of the League team in the Indy queue.

Please note there are other boards as well, with many more details not pictured here, as the boards are in the queue for the ropes course which does not allow cameras or phones. There is a profile of all League members there as well as another newspaper referring to the Anaheim Haunted Mansion, so that’s oddly a thing.

i feel like a lot of people seem to forget that during idia's overblot flashback scene he says his life has been set in stone since he was born, and that it hurt how other kids would get asked what they want to be when they grow up but nobody would ever ask him that. and he says he always just wanted to be a normal kid, he just wanted to be a hero and go on adventures, he essentially just wanted to be free to be like everyone else. his trauma doesn't only come from ortho's death, it also comes from feeling completely and utterly trapped by STYX and the expectations his family's curse has placed on him for all of his life. from feeling like the things that he enjoys, the things he dreams of for his future, do not matter and never have. like he's all but completely alone in the world and the fictional media he loves is his only escape from it all. he literally wanted to go with the original ortho, to die, and his response upon being told that he loves the world too much to give up on it was along the lines of "who would ever love this rotten world?". ortho had to tell him that he still had a future ahead of him, because a very significant part of his issue is that he feels like he doesn't, or at least like he doesn't have the freedom to choose a future that he'll enjoy. with or without ortho, he's spent his whole life just feeling hopeless.

It was another frosty morning, with a brisk northerly wind, and although the clouds swept over the sky at fairly frequent intervals, sometimes dropping a light dusting of tiny particles of snow and ice as they passed, there were some beautifully bright moments in between, which lit up the landscape for a short time.

Algy found himself a soft perch and gazed out at the long, dark shadows stretching all the way across the neighbouring croft. They seemed to be pointing at the illuminated snow-capped mountains of the Isle of Rum in the distance, and the enchanting view reminded him of some lines in a beautiful old song – a VERY old song – and he hummed quietly to himself "Look how the snowy mountains, Heaven’s sun doth gently waste".

Algy reflected that although the northern winter could certainly be beautiful to look at, it was also harsh, especially for the elderly and infirm, and he knew that some of his friends were mourning the loss of dear relatives and friends, for there are many who pass when temperatures fall and the sun sinks low in the sky.

So Algy dedicates this post and this beautiful early English Air especially to those friends who have lost loved ones and are thinking of them now:

Y’all remember the days when Belos was just the funky mysterious masked villain with the sans eye. Remember when Little Miss Perfect dominated both the fandom and Amity Blight as a character. Remember when some of us were genuinely worried Eda would die in the S1 finale. Remember when we all hated Lilith with a seething passion. Remember when Luz’s biggest issue was just trying to figure out day-to-day Boiling Isles life. Remember when, save for the finale, Understanding Willow and Enchanting Grom Fright were the episodes we all lost our minds over.
