A small and gentle dog groomer, finds himself involved in a dangerous relationship of subjugation with a former violent boxer who terrorizes the entire neighborhood.

Not exactly a pleasant story. It's no fun to watch a violent, dumb bully and thug do his work. And see a helpless, naive guy suffer. Even if said guy isn't entirely innocent either.

Tra le migliori produzioni italiane, sicuramente buona parte del merito sta nella fascinazione della storia narrata: ispirata ad una vicenda realmente accaduta. Ma non è da escludere, chiaramente, la capacità non solo del regista ma anche di tutti gli attori, protagonista in primis, in grado di trasmettere il proprio personaggio con semplicità e naturalezza. Drammatico e commovente, ma anche psicologico, tutti generi che riescono a conciliarsi nel personaggio di Marcello Fonte, e a radicarsi dentro esso fino alla fine della pellicola, e non solo. Curioso fare un parallelismo con i fatti realmente accaduti e quelli raccontati da Garrone: ci si rende conto che per quanto siano differenti non stonano. Il Pietro De Negri raccontato nel film, e quello reale potrebbero essere gli stessi, solo che la loro reazione è stata differente. Critica alla società che abbandona e confina i più deboli, critica ad una società che non si occupa di tutti; critica all'emarginazione. Consigliato: sì Voto: 9,5
