I dreamt I went to a brand new Chik-fil-A and they had a rack of Owl City water bottles for sale. My parents were there and didn't want me to buy anything so I spent most the dream trying to figure out how I could buy the merch without getting in trouble (Owl City was playing on the restaurant's radio as well)

some owl city cameo always finds its way into my dreams bc of how often i think about owl city and honestly i love that

like in last night's dream i had to take my car to the repair shop and the person at the front desk had a coffee cup with the cinematic logo on it

and a few nights before that i was a spy on some sort of mission and when i was digging through my bag to find some piece of spy gear and there was an unexplained coco moon cd in there

One of my favorite things about instrumental music is that the listener is encouraged to use his or her imagination. Man, I’ve never been good at anything in life but the one thing I’m awesome at is using my imagination, which means instrumental music is my jam. There’s nothing better than closing my eyes and doing all kinds of stuff, going all sorts of places, and whatever I’m listening to is my soundtrack. I’m making 11 instrumental albums this year for kids like me, and now you can take one small step for man, you can survive the Titanic, you can fly the Spirit of St. Louis, become the first person to summit Everest and take back Normandy for the Allies. it didn't really occur to me until watching old interviews with adam that not everyone just like.. idk understands owl city? like he always gets asked "whys it called owl city?" "what's an alligator sky?" "what does this lyric mean?" "why are these lyrics so weird?"

i feel like even back when i was 11 listening to his music for the first time i never really wondered "what does this mean" i mainly just thought "it's nice to find an artist whos similar minded to me and has a big imagination" yk?

it's like so many people are in this box of 'if i don't understand this then it's just weird' and can't use their imagination to fully immerse themselves in whatever it is

maybe it has something to do with the fact that i'm neurodivergent but i really just didn't know that so many people couldnt enjoy owl city because they were too caught up in asking questions and trying to give a logical explanation of lyrics that are MEANT to be nonsensical and require you to use your imagination

sorry this is so long and not well worded LOL just had to rant
