The first time I heard the Filter song “Hey Man, Nice Shot” was on Sunday the 9th of June 1996 straight after I arrived home late at night from “The Hellfire Club - Black Sun - Queens Birthday Invocation” music festival, which was held on the Queens Birthday weekend public holiday for Victoria, Australia, even though it isn’t actually the real birthday date of Queen Elizabeth II and also every other state in Australia holds her birthday public holiday at a different weekend in Australia, but here in Victoria, Australia “The Hellfire Club - Black Sun - Queens Birthday Invocation” event was our own alternative way of celebrating by using art as a weapon against the cruel, colonial, convict, commonwealth control of our country by the malicious matriarchal Queen Elizabeth II and the rest of the British Monarchy, and “The Hellfire Club - Black Sun - Queens Birthday Invocation” music festival was held at night in a massive old decaying mansion (which was literary called the “Mansion” nightclub) here in Melbourne and the music festival featured “NON (aka Boyd Rice)”, “Death In June (featuring Douglas P.)”, and “Black Lung (aka David Thrussell)”, and it had a mass of many different dark, decorated, damp, decaying, delightfully, debauchery, decadent rooms playing everything from “Pop Will Eat Itself” in one room to “The Hellfire Club” sex magic occult rituals in another room, and after arriving home too wired to sleep, someone started playing a “Rage” television show recording of music videos, and in the state I was in, the only song and music video that stood out, and also basically blew me away was “Hey Man, Nice Shot” by Filter - and that night was also exactly six weeks to the very night and day from when the “Port Arthur Massacre” happened when I was holidaying down there in Hobart, Tasmania, as I was holidaying in Hobart, Tasmania in Australia for 13 weeks when the “Port Arthur Gun Massacre” happened in 1996 and I booked my ticket to leave the week before it happened and I left the week after the “Port Arthur Gun Massacre” happened, and it was a terrible, tragic and also a pivotal point in Australian history, as Australia needed a gun massacre in every Australian state to change the gun laws in our constitution without a referendum, however unlike every other Australian state, there still had not been a gun massacre in the Australian state of Tasmania yet until that fateful day in 1996, as in that year 13 weeks after the newly elected government in Australia took power, and up until the “Las Vegas Gun Massacre” in the U.S.A. this month on October the 1st 2017, the Australian “Port Arthur Gun Massacre” was the world’s biggest gun massacre by a ‘lone gunmen’ when it happened when I was holidaying in the Australian state of Tasmania in 1996, and the Australian “Port Arthur Massacre” immediately changed Australian gun laws drastically and determinedly and decisively without a referendum (which if there had of been a referendum it is now known that the referendum would have won by 54% in favour of changing our gun laws without the need for a gun massacre in every state), so by having a gun massacre in every state when the final permanent law changing one happened in 1996 with the “Port Arthur Massacre” in Tasmania Australia, it changed our gun laws in our constitution without having to hold a referendum by having the then world’s biggest gun massacre by a ‘lone gunmen’ in history in the last state of Australia which was Tasmania that hadn’t had a gun massacre unlike every other Australian state until that “Port Arthur Gun Massacre” happened exactly six weeks to the night and day that I first heard and saw and I got blown away by the song and music video for “Hey Man, Nice Shot” by Filter, and many people have associated the song with the death of Kurt Cobain, however Filter have stated it is about the suicidal statement of the American politician R. Budd Dwyer, however for me personally the Filter song “Hey Man, Nice Shot” is still forever locked and loaded into my memory as associated with recovering from my hedonistic dark decadent night at the “Hellfire Club - Black Sun - Queens Birthday Invocation” music rebellion revolutionary festival, and also recovering from my holiday in Hell at Australia’s “Port Arthur Gun Massacre”, so to Filter and their song “Hey Man, Nice Shot” I am still recovering and grateful so thank-you.
