Powered by the advent of television and super-charged by the deregulation era of the 1980s, media companies and toy manufacturers joined forces to dominate the psyches of American children. But what are the consequences when a developing brain is saturated with the same kind of marketing bombardment found in Red Scare propaganda? She had been forbidden from going to school, or visiting the library because the leader told her that there was no use learning about a world that was about to end. But it was not until the news of the deaths at Heaven's Gate invaded the temple walls that she heard a new word that explained everything: cult.  She must risk everything to indulge in secret trips to an abandoned, off-limits library that teaches her everything she was not meant to know. That Gandhi was not a space alien. That Star Trek wasn't real. That her community was built on a lie. And most importantly, the banned books give her all the information that she needs to escape.

Anthem’s summer reading list – everything you need to know about the latest magazines on the block
Tumblr media
This year saw drastic shifts in New Zealand’s ever-changing media landscape. As we endured lockdowns, we also faced months of uncertainty about the future of our most loved magazines, many of which have entertained and educated us for decades. With previously owned Bauer Media titles back on the shelves, as well as brand new titles, we can breathe a sigh of relief this crucial touchpoint of our culture and identity has new life.
To keep up to date with who’s who and what’s changed in the media landscape at the end of this tumultuous year, we’ve put together our summer reading list with our top reading recommendations for the festive season.
VIVA
VIVA magazine celebrates New Zealand’s ‘good things in life’, from fashion and beauty to food, design and travel. There was something special about leafing through Issue 01 shortly after the magazine took a leap from a weekly New Zealand Herald supplement to a full-glossy quarterly magazine in its own right. The first quarterly instalment, explains editor Amanda Linnell, is about Celebrating Aotearoa Now by reflecting on how 2020 has been a year that has “pushed us all to explore where we’ve come from, and discuss where we want to go”. As such, the content and characters that feature give the magazine a fiercely inclusive feel, with many wahine toa gracing the pages with their individual stories of creativity, ancestry and identity. A must read is Emma Espiner’s feature, an essay titled ‘Looking backwards to the future’, in which she reflects on how her Radio New Zealand journalist husband Guyon Espier was an unlikely modern champion bringing the te reo language to mainstream airwaves, despite initial reluctance from old fashioned or change-fearing listeners. VIVA is the perfect magazine for life-style enthusiasts, foodies and fashion lovers with a big skew towards women through the content’s deliberate inclusivity drive. The publication offers a voice for those who are champions for diversity and inclusion with reputable leaders who have compelling stories to tell - including food, beverage, fashion and FMCG clients.
Ensemble
Ensemble is an online magazine providing fashion and lifestyle news with a strong insider’s perspective. This insight comes directly from its industry heavyweights’ founders, former FQ Editor Zoe Walker Ahwa and industry face, Rebecca Wadey (ex-Kate Sylvester, Jo Malone London and MAC). Their byline is ‘for both intelligence and whimsy’ – a perfect escape in a Covid-landscape. Ensemble’s four content pillars are culture, fashion, beauty and people – writing content for a high-socioeconomic audience who are concerned with conscious consumption, the business of fashion, style trends and industry related issues. The magazine’s investigative journalism is Melanie Reid-esque in terms of quality and often provided anonymously from scrupulous sources. It balances the content nicely with light reads and trend reports.
Woman
Woman is an online and print magazine targeted at women 30 plus with articles on the latest in celebrity news, entertainment, local events and Kiwi women who stand out in their field of expertise. Published by Sido Kitchin’s School Road publishing, the magazine has a little bit of everything - from fashion, gardening, cooking, market appeal, beauty, art, home, wellbeing and book reviews. The features highlight inspiring stories of women who have achieved big things, including political editors Jessica Mutch McKay, Jane Patterson and Tova O’Brien who dive into their experience on the campaign trail during this year’s election.
Haven
Haven is New Zealand’s newest home and living magazine aimed at owners and renovating enthusiasts. The monthly magazine provides design advice, decorating inspiration and gardening tips, as well as showcasing local home, homemakers, food ideas and homeware trends. Haven’s content pillars are:
-          Edit – homeware trends and style influencers
-          Live – Kiwi homes that cross styles, locations and living situations
-          Transform – style ideas and advice for room makeovers
-          Grow – green spaces
-          Eat – recipes from Nici Wickes
The magazine targets everyday New Zealanders, rather than only featuring high end, lifestyle properties. It also profiles the interesting Kiwis who occupy the homes too, rather than just being homes focused.
SCOUT
Scout is a monthly, glossy magazine that pays homage to Aotearoa, New Zealand and the beauty we have on offer for Kiwis and, when our borders open, international visitors. We enjoyed learning about places through the eyes of a range of contributing writers, from Stan Walker on his home city  Tauranga, and Peta Mathias on Tairua. We also enjoyed reading about places we have been meaning to visit but never have, such as Tiritiri Matangi in Hauraki Gulf. The images are beautiful, and very authentic and true to life, rather than a polished tourism façade. The target market would be the domestic tourist or Kiwis wishing to explore their backyard. It appears to be a magazine for a wide demographic, that is not too high brow or elite, and accessible and relevant for many.
Thrive
Thrive, another magazine brought-to-market by School Road Publishing, is focused on all things health and wellbeing. Editor Wendyl Nissen has 20 years’ experience writing about wellness and vouched in the first edition that all content included in this magazine is “authentic and science based.” Each issue includes 3-4 long-form articles, ranging from day-in-the-life pieces that profile well-known Kiwis, to how to maintain DIY health and wellbeing practices from home. It’s relevant to anyone wanting to pay more attention to mindful living and comes full of tangible suggestions you can implement in your day-to-day life.
Tumblr media
North & South
This long form current affairs magazine is back. The monthly is targeted at informed Kiwis aged 35–64 who are “endlessly curious about the country they call home.” Using a blend of investigative journalism, essays, profiles and reviews, the magazine explores everything that is complex and fascinating about New Zealand. The first issue since the magazine came back into publication under its new independent ownership asks, “are we better off on our own” in this ambiguous Covid era? A must-read is Damian Cristie’s feature “Closed” that explores everything that is at stake as we considering when, and how, we can re-open our borders. Donna Chisholm also writes a fascinating piece about how scientists at the Centre for Brain Research are studying tiny pieces of brain tissue to find treatments for Alzheimer’s, autism, epilepsy and other neurological conditions.
Metro
Metro has relaunched under new independent local ownership. The revamp sees it become a quarterly (formerly bi-monthly) magazine, with bigger issues featuring the best of New Zealand. Online, Metro plans to develop several digital platforms to give Aucklanders insider knowledge of their city. It’s great to see proper long form features back. The features were all well written and highly relevant to the narrative of the last few months and beautifully designed. It’s still the best food section in any New Zealand publication. We also love that Alex Casey is a columnist, it’s a perfect fit for Metro. There is so much content in here, it’s the type of magazine that will live well on your coffee table to keep coming back to.
Fashion Quarterly
FQ sees a welcome return for New Zealand’s style conscious. The magazine is aimed at women aged between 20-49 with content including shopping guides, new trends and style inspiration. The features dive into local breakthrough designers, sustainable fashion, conscious consumption, at-home skincare and self-improvement. The December issue arrives months after its publication came to an abrupt halt in March, with a clear re-focus on inclusivity and commenting on social and environmental issues readers care most about. Jacinta Fitzgerald’s essay “Where to from here?” is an interesting exploration of fashion’s most unforeseeable year and the future for sustainability in an industry that has an unsustainable track record.
Capsule
They say times of adversity provide opportunity, and Capsule is a prime example of this in action. Following the closure of Bauer Media NZ in April, Kelly Bertrand, former Deputy Editor of New Zealand Woman's Weekly, joined forces with a group of other former magazine editors to launch Capsule, an online curated collection of smart stories and relatable rants. Capsule is aimed at savvy, strong, intelligent and stylish Kiwi women who want to know what’s happening, what’s trending, what’s new, and what’s worth talking about. Capsule aims to deliver clever content that resonates and connects deeply with Kiwi women and helps them feel successful, informed and entertained. The range and volume of content that Capsule covers means there’s something for everyone and every mood – you could be reading a Samsung vacuum cleaner review one moment, then learning about creating workplace opportunities for young Kiwis living with disabilities the next. Having just signed on a content partnership with Stuff, we can expect to see a lot more of Capsule in the near future – and we can’t wait.
Tumblr media
Woman’s Day NZ and The New Zealand Woman’s Weekly
After a hiatus following Bauer Media’s collapse, Woman’s Day and NZ Woman’s Weekly are back in full force to serve celebrity gossip and royal family scandal. The weekly print publications are primarily aimed at women aged 35 to 60 and in addition to reporting on the latest Hollywood red carpet faux pas, they deliver gripping real-life reads, affordable fashion, easy nutritious meals, quick beauty tips, entertaining puzzles and more. Overall, these publications provide entertainment and escapism – perfect beach reading material.

Journalism Is Not Dead, It’s State Owned
Tumblr media
Drive by media is presumed to be dead, and in the sense of true journalism it is, but the hype it promotes is far from being dead, but rather, very much alive due to it’s state own status. A status that many have become accustomed to and live, and die by.
So now, what exactly is a state owned media?
 Well, let’s see:
CNN and The New York Times  are indeed ‘controlled financially and editorially by the state,’ which is often referred to as the Deep State, which controls it’s content, editorials and it’s specific ideology, which is Liberalism, of which defines the Democrat party, it’s members  and it’s followers.
Yeah sure, one can argue Foxnews fits in that category also, but not really, for the network is ‘fair and balanced,’ offering up both sides of the ideological debates, of which gives the viewer options for consideration, whereas CNN and the New York Times only offer up one side of a deranged ideological perspective that heavily deals with lies, lies and more lies that confuses products of Liberalism and that’s what the ideology sole purpose is.
They are manufacturing human products that grow dumber by the days, instead of intelligent by the days and that’s costly, not only to the country, but to themselves as well.
I hear many people claim to be ‘Liberal,’ but if you ask them what exactly is Liberalism, they have no clue. Their answers are based on what perceived to be law and order, justice for all, and equality for all. That’s not what Liberalism is about.
It’s all about no law, complete disorder, unequal justice for certain people and an equality that only serves those who participate in a growing and scary ignorance in the country.
Liberalism in the fashion of a state owned media source are well adapt at telling it’s readers or audience what to think about any given subject; how to respond to certain people, people that are not like them, and lastly, accept the lies of daily spins, without any truths or questions.
In the case of the New York Times attempted smear campaign against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh again, if you read the story you’d realize, it was as incomplete as a story with just a head line and no text. The piece was supposed to be a essay into another allegation against Kavanaugh. The victim was named, but according to other class mates, she was too drunk to remember the incident, and then there was the report from another named accuser, Max Stier, another former class mate, who reportedly, ‘saw Mr. Kavanaugh with his pants down at a different drunken dorm party, where friends pushed his penis into the hand of a female student.’
How disgusting is that to be a truth?
According to USA Today’s Paul Janensch, the obvious stands out in this essay, and that’s the Times reporters, Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly never even interviewed the person of interest. So now, how can that be journalism, without even a quote from the sole interest of the essay?
That’s not journalism, but rather a state owned media who ‘is under no pressure to attract high ratings or generate advertising revenue and therefore may cater to the forces in control of the state…’ who’s main agenda is to:
‘vilify opposition to the government by launching smear campaigns
giving skewed coverage to opposition views, or
act as a mouthpiece  to advocate a regime's ideology.’
It’s been reported that state owned media outlets ‘usually enjoy increased funding and subsidies compared to private media counterparts, but this can create inefficiency in the state media.’ Could this increased funding and subsidies come from that Deep State, who’s reportedly is a collection of wealthy individuals who’s trying their best to alter the course of the country?
And yet there’s another smear campaign developing surrounding President Donald Trump again and an unknown foreign leader reported by drive by medias and the New York Times:
‘A potentially explosive complaint by a whistle-blower in the intelligence community said to involve President Trump was related to a series of actions that go beyond any single discussion with a foreign leader, according to interviews on Thursday.
The complaint was related to multiple acts, Michael Atkinson, the inspector general for American spy agencies, told lawmakers during a private briefing, two officials familiar with it said. But he declined to discuss specifics, including whether the complaint involved the president, according to committee members.’
But it gets better. There’s the public interest theory which states ‘that government ownership of media is desirable.’
 Here’s the reasons why:
 -  ‘Firstly, the dissemination of information is a public good, and to withhold it would be costly even if it is not paid for.
 -  Secondly, the cost of the provision and dissemination of information is high, but once costs are incurred, marginal costs for providing the information are low and so are subject to increasing returns.
 -  Thirdly, state media ownership can be less biased, more complete and accurate if consumers are ignorant and in addition to private media that would serve the governing classes.
Where was mainstream media’s misinformation when ’Obama found his private moment of political candor caught by a live microphone on Monday as he told President Dmitri A. Medvedev of Russia that he would have “more flexibility” to negotiate on the delicate issue of missle defense after the November election.’
in any case, dissemination, or spreading knowingly lies is not in the best interest of the public, nor is it good for the public. While the Times is struggling with readership and revenue, and CNN is struggling with ratings and revenue, they both are somehow managing to survive at a higher than normal cost of operation without a sustainable return, and perhaps that’s why so many drive by media outlets choose state ownership, over publicly funded sources, for with being state owned, it’s easier to reach the ignorant and with publicly funded sources, there’s accountability which prohibits even addressing the ignorant.
Nope, journalism is not dead, but rather state owned and thriving.

These Teachers of the Year Stand Up in Support of Teachers Fighting for a Living Wage
A tide is sweeping across the nation. We are witnessing a new wave of teacher activism unfolding, state by state.
West Virginia teachers were the first to stand, demanding better wages. Prior to the strike, West Virginia ranked 48th in teacher pay, making it difficult to recruit and retain teachers and making life unbearable for the most selfless of public servants.
Oklahoma ranks even lower, 50th on some lists, for teacher pay and per pupil spending. Not surprisingly, they went next, emboldened by West Virginia’s example.
In many states, teacher pension plans are seen as a ‘money trees’ by legislators who wish to skim off and redistribute well-placed funds needed to shore up retirement for some of the hardest workers. Kentucky teachers were not hearing it, so they took the next stand to protect their futures.
Now, with Arizona and Colorado teachers joining in, the rest of us cannot sit idly by.
Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy.”
In this vein, we, the 2017 State Teachers of the Year listed below, refuse to ignore the plight of our brothers and sisters. We stand with them, even as they face judgement and ridicule for their courage and action. We choose solidarity regardless of the current context in our own states.
While some states have fully-funded education for the first time in decades, it is still our responsibility as professionals invested in the well-being of our students and democracy to stand in support of our colleagues whose struggles are more urgent.
The words of Ida B. Wells ring true, “The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them.”
West Virginia. Oklahoma. Kentucky. Arizona and Colorado. We see you. We see you pouring your heart and soul into your classrooms during the day and organizing at night. We see you meeting with legislators to advocate for fair compensation, even as you spend your own money on supplies and stock your desks with snacks for hungry students. We see you on the picket lines, standing up for this profession, pushed to the brink because your cause is just and long overdue.
Every day in America, educators are asked to be instructors, counselors, social workers, nurses, coaches and sometimes parents. We have seen you do all this with smiles on your faces.
We see you and we want you to know that we support you. We have your backs. Your bravery to speak up and courage to hold your ground amidst political taunts and intimidation have inspired a generation of educators and students to create change.
As educators, we believe in the power of yet. When our students haven’t mastered concepts, we don’t give up on them. Instead, we find new approaches and persist in our instruction until the lightbulb moment.
We can do the same for our elected officials. In cases where our officials don’t acknowledge or prioritize the need for more funding in education yet, we must teach them. We must demonstrate the value of having textbooks that aren’t crumbling, stand up for our colleagues who are working extra jobs to make ends meet and expose the areas where facilities are inadequate, until our officials experience their own “a-ha” moments.
Whether we teach in affluent suburban districts or inner-city schools without grass to play on, in Oklahoma or Montana, Kentucky or Maine, we are in this together. We remain steadfast for the good of all students and the good of our democracy.
In the meantime, we encourage everyone to support teachers. Wear red in defense of public education. Write your elected officials and share your concerns and hopes. If you are a teacher, invite the community into your everyday work to help others understand the profession. If you are a legislator, we charge you with visiting the schools in your area and with committing to volunteer, partner and build the foundation of our communities—even if you don’t have children in school.

The Finance 202: the rescue of Substantial money cavalry rides on tax overhaul
New White House chief of staff John Kelly listens to President Donald Trump. (Reuters/Kevin Lamarque)
Double leadership failures by the White House along with the company community so far have hobbled the drive for a sweeping tax code rewrite.
But the previous 72 hours offer some skilled encouragement to people seeking to get a breakthrough. At 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., President Trump’s decision Friday to replace Reince Priebus — his most incredible shrinking chief of staff — together with Homeland Security secretary John F. Kelly holds out a glimmer of hope that the former Marine general can inflict some grownup supervision on the Lord of the Flies atmosphere that’s prevailed there. “Kelly is a very disciplined individual who may bring about the procedure if the creatures from the zoo act,” John McLaughlin, a former acting director of the CIA who served in seven administrations, tells The Post’s Philip Rucker, Robert Costa along with Dan Balz.
Easier said than done, clearly, at a West Wing that last week looked as badly off its axis as at any moment at Trump’s tumultuous half-year presidency. Even the Wall Street Journal editorial board isn’t holding its breath that a staff change can fix what ails that White House, even composing Friday that a “shuffling of the team furniture won’regardless of unless Mr. Trump accepts that the White House issue isn’t Mr. Priebus. It’s him. ”
But as one individual near Kelly put it to Politico, “I feel this is the greatest and final shot. This is it. ”
Meanwhile, a big-money cavalry is now hanging outside on behalf of a tax overhaul. Using a border adjustment tax they opposed liberally off the table, the Koch brothers’ governmental community is launching a multimillion-dollar effort to press the case for a wholesale revamp. It launches in a Newseum event guest-starring Marc Short along with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Trump & rsquo; s lobbyist. This Friday, the Business Roundtable will be kicking off its very own seven-figure assist, sponsoring a national TV and radio blitz. And finally, the American Action Network, the center-right nonprofit group, plans to invest $20 million boosting the effort, such as $5 million in August.
Much like the Kelly move, time will tell if the lobbying push represents the top edge of even a work or a seriousness.
The Wall Street Journal’s Richard Rubin:
So that is large GOP $, also large Koch $ and large corp (Roundtable) $. Does that influence voters/members? And does it survive a comprehensive draft? https://t.co/XbjWXOg36U
— Richard Rubin (@RichardRubinDC) July 30, 2017
And as with the Kelly move, a few helpful involvement by the president could go a very long way. On the weekend, even Trump realised he desires Senate Republicans to Stay focused on health care:
Repeal & Replace is not dead unless the Senators are quitters! Demand a different vote before voting on any bill!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 29, 2017
Do not give up Senators, the World is seeing: Repeal & Replace. . .and visit 51 votes (nuke option), get Cross State Lines & more.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 30, 2017
And White House budget director Mick Mulvaney, appearing Sunday on CNN, affirmed it’s “official White House plan” that the Senate should keep working on Obamacare before voting on whatever else. That demand will become unworkable from the September when approve a government financing package and lawmakers need to lift the debt ceiling. (Not to mention that it is exceptionally unpopular: almost two-thirds of respondents at a new Reuters poll wish to maintain Obamacare in position or view it slightly modified, and only 29 percent need Republicans to continue working on a brand new health-care bill.)
Since Republicans may want to repurpose the invoice for a car for the step, it may also complicate the image for a tax overhaul. Even the GOP’s internal deadlock to a new budget threatens to maintain the reconciliation rules they have to have to skip Democrats from the tax debate. So Senate Republicans are eyeing a plan that would allow them to bypass the spending routine in favour of retooling the invoice and its balancing instructions instead.
That an move is under serious consideration underlines the urgency for Republicans to place their first major legislative triumph.
President Trump. (Reuters/Jonathan Ernst)
— Trump over the weekend tweeted on one of his favorite topics, the stock market’s potency:
U.S. Stock Market up almost 20% since Election!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 29, 2017
He’s understandably been a lot quieter on the performance of the dollar, a metric that many market watchers believe more correctly reflects confidence in their own economic direction. The greenback surged after Trump’s election but has since given back those gains and then some. Bloomberg’s   Lananh Nguyen    along with Liz McCormick report: “For most, it reflects deepening worries the chaos embroiling Washington — much of that has been Trump’s own making — is undermining his ambitious economic agenda. As his government has lurched from 1 crisis to the next — against the firing of FBI Director James Comey to allegations of collusion with both Russia along with the Republican Partytherefore failure to repeal Obamacare — something of a consensus has emerged from the foreign exchange market. And that’s to sell the dollar.”
—The economy rebounded by increasing at an annualized rate of 2.6 percent from the next quarter of this year, but persistently weak inflation will be casting doubt on the Fed’s plan to continue increasing interest rates. The Post’s Ana Swanson: “less spending by state and local authorities, in addition to reduced investment in home and business inventories, dragged on growth from the next quarter. But those effects have been offset by an increase in different kinds of investment, greater customer spending and stronger exports…  Though the 2.6 percent increase in the next quarter indicates a rally from the preceding quarter, it still falls short of the 3 percent to 4 per cent increase the Trump government continues to be targeting. Lots of the economic plans of President Trump, such as tax cuts along with the government’s funding, rely on having higher economic growth. But while the present economic expansion remains the third-longest on document, rates of growth have remained stubbornly low, because of longer-run fluctuations in the economy, such as the aging of the U.S. population.”
—And while Trump might not be making good on much of his agenda, U.S. corporate profits are on a rip. The largest American organizations are poised to post the 2nd consecutive quarter of double-digit increase for the very first time in six years. The Wall Street Journal’s Theo Francis and Thomas Gryta report: “that the second-quarter profit profits are spread across industries from Wall Street banks to Detroit’s car factories to Silicon Valley’s software labs. Earnings are expected to decline only in the utilities industry, based on info from Thomson Reuters.”
This file picture  shows the sign for a Wells Fargo bank in Woodbury, Minnesota. (AFP PHOTO / AFP FILES / KAREN BLEIERKAREN BLEIER/AFP/Getty Images)
—Much More fallout in the Wells Fargo wreck: My colleague Renae Merle reports that the bank’s      acknowledgment that it billed 800,000 of its clients for auto insurance they did not need more than six years is already igniting some governmental backlash.
Cap Alpha’s Ian Katz sees the fallout potentially shaping the fiscal deregulatory debate: “Our profound analysis is the fact that it is bad for everyone, except perhaps for defenders of the CFPB,” he writes at a Sunday night note to clients. “This is another annoyance for Wells,  that is already facing reputational challenges, and a poke in the eye for Republicans and others who wish to neuter the CFPB. It may also end up being more difficult to wider efforts to reform Dodd-Frank, as it strengthens the arguments of Democratic lawmakers such as Elizabeth Warren and Sherrod Brown that banks want tougher, not milder, oversight.”
Discovery Communications has agreed to acquire Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. in a deal valued at roughly $11.9 billion, combining two powerhouses of both nonfiction television programming at a time of major upheaval in the cable-TV enterprise.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. (Jabin Botsford/The Washington Post)
—Lawmakers returning from the August recess will have just 12 legislative acts  to raise the debt ceiling before having a default. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin composed Congress on Friday urging actions by Sept. 29. For dealing with the must-pass step but on Capitol Hill, there is absolutely no clear approach. The Wall Street Journal’s Kate Davidson accounts: “Mr. Mnuchin has made clear the government would like to find the debt limit improved, without any strings attached. But GOP leaders will surely need to rely upon support to acquire any kind of increases desk, some Democrats might be unwilling to provide without a thing in return. They have been unified in opposition to people to other problems.”

—The Republican coalition is increasingly showing the strains of attempting to hang against an iconic, galvanizing president. Weekly, those bridling in Trump’s personality  appeared to demonstrate a new willingness to confront him. ” The Wall Street Journal’s Siobhan Hughes and Thomas M. Burton: “In Congress, a few Republicans are pushing back in Mr. Trump through actions. Last week, the House and Senate passed legislation that could make it challenging for Mr. Trump to relax economic sanctions on Moscow or even to revive Russia’s control over diplomatic compounds, in response to U.S. intelligence customs that Russia interfered in the elections, ” that Russia denies. Meanwhile, Republican senators proceeded to block every path Mr. Trump might attempt to use to fire and replace Mr. Sessions, out of concern that doing so would disrupt the independence of the research into any election hindrance.”

Stella Carrier Script Stories Law of Attraction Edition Script One Sunday June 25, 2017
Due to Spiritual and Karmic Reasons I am going to follow both my intuition and logic and keep all entries from the Stella Carrier Script Stories Law of Attraction Edition away from my facebook, twitter, and linkedin accounts. However, what I do feel comfortable saying is that these entries are going to be on my googleplus, tumblr, and wordpress.
            Affirmations
I Call Upon What I Imagine To Be The Influence of Benevolent Spirits From the Heavenly Realms, my higher self, and my celestial spirit ally team for creativity in both my writings and all other areas of my life both present and future

I honor my connection to my guide with my words and actions.
I remember my dreams. They show me answers and solutions.
Divine Will flows through me. I know when to take action and when to surrender.
I believe in myself and my path.
I believe I can grow instantly, and I do.
My psychic abilities and intuition expand each day.
I am creating heaven on earth
I’m aware of when to create opportunities for myself and that when one door closes many more doors open.
I contribute to the best of my ability regardless of the reception I receive for doing so.

I Stella Carrier follow my intuition regardless of any judgement I risk to follow my bliss and intuition to include some of my goals and dreams in my law of attraction scripts
Setting the Washington D.C. area and Norfolk Virginia area
I Stella Carrier am now enjoying a consistent income of at least 1200 dollars a month after taxes. I am worry free when it comes to deciding if I need to apply for any government assistance andor foodstamps because I am successfully bringing in at least 1200 dollars a month after taxes through multiple streams of income such as some of my self employment opportunities. This way, I am actually immune to whether I work a job that has full time and year round employment or a job that is simply part time and seasonal. I start to get more job interviews in response to my resume that I am blessed to have had help with improving. Additionally, I am now in the process of saving at least 200-300 dollars after taxes in my checking account every 2 weeks. I Stella Carrier am successfully using my time wisely and living in alignment with my divine life purpose. I am also making successfully contact with my heaven/celestial spirit ally team and frequently meet up with my celestial higher self and members of my celestial ally team in my dreams where they give me important advice and encouragement at a meeting table in a colorful garden setting. Fortunately, I am often being shown images in my dreams during my astral travels to heaven of some of my books being published while I am still alive as long as I write under an outside the box penname and pennames. Additionally, I Stella Carrier am being shown dream images of Rusty and I looking at our checking accounts and frequently seeing at least as much as 8000 dollars after taxes saved in our Bank of America and Sun Trust accounts. I am being shown enjoying much success from the 15 law of attraction books that I have set aside for helping me to reach my goals. I am being counseled at the heaven location table that I need to type the 15 book list and look at it every night while praying for success help as I am shown a dream less than 8 months from now where one of my money dreams comes true as a result of applying at least 3-5 techniques from each of the 15 books within 18 months or less from now. Fortunately, I am also getting good guidance to make a playlist of at least 36 songs that I section into 10-12 songs and to make the most of my current free time to meditate and relax to those songs at least 2-3 times a day. One of my main spirit guides, a male and female show me the 120 pound body that I am walking around in various places in the Norfolk Virginia and the Kennedy Center in the Washington D.C. area. I ask them when I can expect this reality and both of them helpfully explain to me by December 2018 or sooner as long as I get to making the most of my increased free time by walking at least 10 miles a day at least 5-6 days out of the week and schedule everything else around this very important goal. I was even told that my writing goals are going to more likely come true if I continue to work towards my weight and be consistent with my walking routine. Right then, I remind myself to restart my fitness journal after I get home from volunteering at the Giant Barbecue Battle. One of my female spirit guides shows me an image of me actually meeting more friends and having one of my stories submitted for publication under a pen name after I accomplish my weight loss goals. I also get to see a vision where I am going to many more music concerts in the future and my husband is even super supportive to where he accompanies me to many of them by offering to stay at any hotels that I stay at when visiting the concerts. I am even shown an encouraging image where I weigh 135 pounds by this time and I am seeing a checking balance of 3000 dollars after taxes in my Bank of America and Sun Trust savings accounts. I am even calling one of my federal student employers with the news that I can at least make the minimum payments on my student loans as I have now secured year round employment by the time I weigh 135 pounds. On a positive note, my husband and I are also toasting a celebration to my now having secured both a thinner body and a job opportunity that allows me to travel to both Virginia Beach Virginia and various places within the Washington D.C. area. We are celebrating at Blue Seafood and Spirits at Virginia Beach Virginia.
I’m keeping this article for personal reference as encouragement for me to work towards obtaining a second bachelor’s degree online at least part-time in a major that I am highly interested while working a full-time job by January 2018 or sooner. 5 Things Working While Going to School Will Teach You
  https://addicted2success.com/life/5-things-working-while-going-to-school-will-teach-you/
I have to admit Robin Thicke’s girlfriend April Love Geary looks good. I’m sure that Robin Thicke is going to always think well of Paula Patton. However, I can tell from this photo that Robin Thicke is passionately in love with April Love Geary.  Pharrell Williams and his wife Helen Lasichanh look like a happy couple as well. The picture of Kelly Osbourne in her white dress and black belt posing for  the 6th Annual Solstice Event in New York City shows her in a blissful demeanor. I admit that I would definitely dress like Duchess Kate Middleton if I had the money. As with other pics, the fashion picture of Kate Middleton in this spread shows her looking very regal/sophisticated. As a matter of the fact, the red peacoat that the mainstream media temporarily featured that Middleton wore looked actually similar to the red peacoat that my husband bought for me around 2011 or 2012 when we were bringing in at least 4200 dollars a month after taxes. I actually consider it a compliment if other people who saw me wearing that jacket around that time thought I was copying Kate Middleton, but I actually have had that coat since 2011/2012 (obviously, I still do). There are people who rip on Iggy Azalea, but I feel that she actually puts out unique music and has natural beauty about her. I was actually surprised when  I heard of her getting cosmetic surgery because I thought that she was attractive to start with but I am careful how often I point out other women’s attractiveness. I actually sexually favor men and consider myself a heterosexual woman who was born a woman. However, I do not see anything wrong with being transgendered, a bisexual man or woman andor a homosexual male or a lesbian woman. However, I am just implying why I am careful how often I go public with talking about when I see a woman’s beauty because the few times I have done so there seems to have been people speculating andor spreading rumors about me being bisexual without understanding that it is possible for a heterosexual female to see the beauty in another female with both jealousy free motive and also without being sexually attracted to the female. I do not consider it an insult to be confused for a bisexual andor lesbian woman but let’s face the facts. A mixed race woman like myself who is already a size 6 or smaller and is confused for a bisexual woman is going to be treated a whole lot better and perceived a whole lot better than a mixed race woman like myself who is confused for being bisexual but is currently a size 16 and is in the process of getting skinnier. It is also a pet peeve of mine when a well meaning article writer tries to preach to a mixed race woman like myself to just be happy with her size andor hair type and does not take into account that the life experiences of a size 16 darker complexioned woman (whether mixed race or not), a size 16 light complexioned mixed race woman, and a size 16 non-Hispanic Caucasian woman are going to experience different forms to treatment by other men and women even if they are all the same size andor working and living in the same environment (also different depending on socio-economic class). That is all I’m going to say for now on what indirectly influences me to work on getting skinnier and chemically relaxing my hair at least every 6 months or longer and keeping it long which has actually helped me especially during money fluctuations. Newsflash; a well-meaning minority woman (regardless of whether they are mixed race or not) andor a Caucasian woman (whether non-Hispanic Caucasian or Hispanic Caucasian)who tries to tell another woman what to do with her hair and whether or not to keep it natural andor what length to keep it needs to see the reality that a woman of a modest income (regardless of her race)andor in between jobs such as myself actually has an easier time with my hair because of it being long and chemically relaxed.  I have actually been what is considered “natural” before and even did the big chop from 2003-2011 when I was making much more money to where making even a fourth of that this summer would be a dream come true(my husband and I were bringing in 4200 dollars a month after taxes in December 2011 and by the time I chemically relaxed my hair again in April 2012, my husband and I were bringing in at least 4200 dollars a month after taxes). I have actually saved lots of money since keeping my hair long(at least bra strap length or longer) and chemically relaxing it once every at least 6 months or more. I am fortunate that my late adoptive mother, a non-Hispanic Caucasian woman, was comfortable with chemically relaxing my hair as a teenager with store bought relaxers. This was because I was inspired to bravely start relaxing my own hair by November 2013 when it was necessary to save money by foregoing the trips to hair salons. On a positive note,Johnny Depp’s photo reminds me to check out the latest Pirates of the Carribean film by this autumn season or sooner. Additionally, there are also other good pictures in this slide as well such as the ones featuring Elizabeth Hurley,Princess Beatrice of York, and Princess Eugenie of York as well among others.

The time period is 10 years from now
Timeframe started 947 pm Saturday July 8, 2017
Timeframe completion goal 957 p,m.
Actual timeframe completed 1033 p.m.
Part of my letter modeled after the Bruce Lee letter
I call upon the help and assistance of my heaven spirit ally team and my heaven higher self of the heaven worlds of divine love and divine happiness to help manifest the following in the letter in all areas of my life both present and future-this or something better for my highest and greatest good
I Stella Carrier am fully enjoying all areas of my life in this timeframe of July 8, 2027. I have successfully maintained a 110 pound body frame for over 9 years now. I Stella Carrier have also successfully celebrated my 23 year wedding anniversary with my husband Rusty Ridler on January 22, 2027. I was 23 years old when the blessing of getting married to my amazing husband Rusty Ridler occurred. We jointly agreed to celebrate our 23 year wedding anniversary in Las Vegas and had the privilege of staying at the MGM Grand hotel for part of the time and the Bellagio hotel for the remainder week we were on vacation. We also spent part of the vacation visiting various parts of Virginia Beach Virginia, Williamsburg Virginia, and Alexandria Virginia. I am now also rejoicing as Rusty and I have successfully paid off our student loans and now have over $500,000 U.S. dollars after taxes in our Bank of America and Sun Trust Savings Accounts. Rusty and I also live in a completely paid off/paid for beautiful three bedroom house in Norfolk Virginia that is within 4 miles to the Norfolk Naval Base, Old Dominion University, and the MacArthur Center Mall. I succeeded in being able to move to the Norfolk Virginia area by June 1, 2020 from the Washington D.C. Area. Additionally by June 14, 2020 I was already making over $3,000 dollars a month after taxes, a monthly income that I am blessed to regain after remembering the enjoyment of the blessing of also making that after tax amount in part of 2008 and part of 2009. As a result, I am freely able to enjoy the blessing of sending my husband at least 200 dollars a month after taxes for him to do as he wishes in the Washington D.C. area. The 3000 dollars a month after taxes that I Stella Carrier now make is in addition to money that I am blessed to generate from my investments, side businesses, and writing deals.  Fortunately, my job has a high number of both married and in long term partnership supervisors at my job who also have spouses that are employed. As a result, I Stella Carrier am granted the weekends off at least twice a month, and I get off by 230 pm on Fridays. As a result, by June 1, 2020 I am able to travel from Norfolk Virginia to the Washington D.C. area to visit my husband Rusty Ridler at least three times a month, with some days I meet him at his College Park Maryland job due to me sometimes getting Friday off which allows me to leave to visit Rusty Ridler early Friday mornings.  My amazing husband Rusty Ridler follows me to the Norfolk Virginia area by June 15, 2023.  I Stella Carrier also enjoy the blessing of making at least 4,000 dollars a month after taxes and more by November 8, 2025.  I Stella Carrier give great value and service in all areas of my life and in my career and professional life. Both many of my customers and my fellow coworkers are happy with the work that I do in various areas of my career life in Norfolk Virginia.
I Stella Carrier am happy to say that I have also succeeded in improving my writing and communication skills both online and offline. As a matter of fact, I Stella Carrier report the blessing of having been accepting into Old Dominion University by September 2018 and having achieved my online bachelor’s degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations by December 16, 2026. As a matter of fact, I even receive great news that I have been offered a public relations/marketing/advertising related job offering me at least 3800 dollars a month after taxes working for the school system in the Norfolk Virginia area by November 1, 2025.  This great news actually helps me do even better in my online classes at that time as my grade point average goes from a 3.9 to a 4.0 helping me to achieve my 2nd bachelor’s degree online from Old Dominion University with high honors.  Additionally, the pay boost helps me to repay my student loans quicker, at least over 7 years quicker than I originally expected due to a student loan repayment program that my public relations jobs offers as an incentive and appreciation for both my experience and how long I choose to stay.
I Stella Carrier am also enjoying the blessing of a paid for mazda 3 car that I was able to actually successfully obtain by January 1, 2020.  I Stella Carrier being able to drive around in a paid for mazda 3 car has allowed my husband and I the freedom to travel across various places within both the Hampton Roads Virginia and the Washington D.C. areas. As a matter of fact, the paid for mazda 3 car has allowed both Rusty and I to have a home base in Norfolk Virginia while visiting the Washington D.C. area at least 2-3 times a month. My yelp profile and my online blogs are also filled with online reviews of both Washington D.C. area and various businesses across Norfolk Virginia, Virginia Beach Virginia, and Chesapeake Virginia that Rusty and I have been to and frequently visit.
On a spiritual level, I Stella Carrier enjoy the blessing of unlimited intuition powers, unlimited imagination powers, and a high level of genius and creativity. I also enjoy the blessing of being able to simultaneously create heaven in my earth life and afterlife both for myself and those who surround me. I also enjoy the blessing of communicating and connecting with my heaven higher self and my heaven spirit ally team of the heaven worlds of divine love and divine happiness. As a result, I am enjoy good luck and good fortune in all areas of my life both present and future. I Stella Carrier also have the time and opportunity to volunteer and hang out with some amazing friends that I have met both in the Washington D.C. area and in the Norfolk Virginia area. Additionally, I am able to freely give some of my money to feeding America, Salvation army, and various food banks and housing shelters across both the Norfolk Virginia area and Washington D.C. area. I Stella Carrier am also blessed to now be able to pay for the best therapy, career coaches, and advisors to help me out in various areas of my life that money can buy. I Stella Carrier am both lucky and blessed to say that multiple happy and positive breakthroughs in all areas of my life both present and future came to me both in my dreams and waking life after I started to write my dreams more frequently and seek out therapy by July 2017. I Stella Carrier succeed in having one of my books published under a pen name by January 1, 2018 and making at least $3500 dollars after taxes from it by March 1, 2018. I Stella Carrier am also blessed to say that I was already enjoying great physical health in all areas of my life both present and future but I succeeded in manifesting a 120 pound body by April 1, 2018. Additionally, I Stella Carrier succeeded in having over $50,000 dollars after taxes saved by January 1, 2020.
