Galvanized Ducting Supplies
Ducting supplies are available in a variety of materials. The most common is galvanized sheet metal. The hot dipped galvanizing process coats carbon steel with zinc to prevent corrosion. Galvanized steel is used almost everywhere ductwork is fabricated.
Coated stainless steel ductwork is often used in microchip manufacturing for exhausting corrosive environments where galvanized would not be suitable. Galvanised Ducting Supplies need to be procured from a reputable source in Melbourne only.
Let's have a discussion one Galvanised Ducting Supplies to become more clear on this topic.
Galvanized
Galvanization provides a durable, protective coating for iron and steel, protecting it from atmospheric elements that would cause rusting. This allows it to withstand a greater variety of environmental conditions than other steel types without the need for frequent maintenance activities.
Ducts made from galvanized metal are ideal for agriculture, checmical manufacturing, laboratories and other industrial-sized applications that require ventilation systems or dust collection systems. Quality galvanized ductwork resists moisture, mildew and corrosion, as well as welding fumes and vehicle exhaust.
The material is also highly affordable, providing a cost-efficient solution for any business or project with the need for a reliable, long-lasting duct. It also requires minimal maintenance efforts, allowing for a lower operating costs than other ducting materials. This low-maintenance nature is especially appealing for businesses and projects that must regularly inspect their ductwork for damage or other issues. This can save time and money, as replacing or repairing existing structures can be expensive and time-consuming.
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel ducting is useful for commercial businesses and large manufacturing facilities where medium to large industrialized applications take place because it resists threats like mold, mildew, and moisture. Stainless steel is strong and corrosive-resistant since it contains iron as well as chromium and nickel. The addition of nickel reduces corrosion in highly acidic environments, making it ideal for food processing plants.
Unlike some other metals, it doesn’t degrade or break down when it’s up against harsh substances that would otherwise deteriorate more quickly, and it can be steam-sanitized to maintain cleanliness. It’s also durable enough to stand up to salty conditions and even coastal areas without risking the same kind of damage that other materials might experience.
Stainless steel ducting is useful for ventilation in medical and contaminated environments to mitigate germ transmission, as well as odor extraction, fume exhaustion, wood and cement dust control, and other applications that need to be able to move large volumes of air. Stainless steel may be more expensive than galvanized ducting, but it’s worth the investment since it reduces repair and replacement costs over time.
Aluminum
Ducting is the metal piping that transports air from your HVAC system throughout your home or business. It is responsible for distributing the air treated by your heating and cooling unit to all parts of the space while also extracting stale air. Without it, your home or office will have varying temperatures in each room, making it less comfortable and reducing energy efficiency.
Aluminum ducting is a popular option for ventilation because it is lightweight and resists corrosion well. It can be used indoors or out, and it is easy to bend to fit in tight spaces where rigid metal ducting cannot.
Another benefit of aluminum is that it does not require a protective insulation wrap, saving you time and money. It is a good choice for situations where you need a flexible duct and offers the best value for your investment. It is suitable for a variety of applications including exhaust, kitchen extractor and ventilation systems.
Other Materials
Galvanized sheet metal is used extensively in the HVAC industry for commercial construction to make supply, return and exhaust ductwork. The steel is coated with zinc to protect it from corrosion. It is also available in a variety of gauges to meet specific applications.
Other materials are sometimes used to build ductwork supplies, such as stainless steel or aluminum. These other materials offer specialized benefits that are not found in galvanized steel.
For example, stainless steel is often used in environments where corrosive air needs to be exhausted such as microchip manufacturing facilities. It can be coated with Teflon or Halar to increase its protection properties. It is also non-porous so there is less chance of mold or other biological growth. Stainless steel is also lighter than other types of metals and can be bent more easily. However, it is more expensive than galvanized sheet metal. It is also not as easily purchased from big box hardware stores.

Clandestine Drug Lab Remediation
MCS services include pre sampMould Samplingling, site remediation and post sampling to ensure your property can be safely re-occupied. MCS has the expertise, assessment skills, remediation ability and experience to totally resolve any issues you have in regards to Meth Lab clean-ups.
A clandestine drug laboratory (or ‘clan lab’) is any site associated with the process of attempting to manufacture illicit drugs. Most commonly, clan labs are located in residential rental properties.
Why are drug labs dangerous?
Drug labs produce a range of illicit drugs including:
Amphetamines and methylamphetamines — commonly referred to “speed” or “ice” and are highly addictive3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) — street name “ecstasy”Heroin and “home-bake” heroinLysergide (LSD)Gamma hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) — street name “fantasy”Paramethoxyamphetamine (PMA)Other chemically-based dangerous substances
Drug labs in Australia can also include cocaine extractions, synthetic cannabis manufacture and indoor hydroponic cannabis. The drug “cooks” have little regard for themselves or the welfare and safety of the community.
These synthetic drugs are produced using highly toxic chemicals mixed together with other substances. Because of the mix of precursor chemicals and substances used in drug production, the resulting dangers are the generation of highly toxic fumes, poisonous gases, chemical vapours together with corrosive and flammable ingredient / by products which presents a real risk of explosion, flash burns and fire. The waste produced from drug labs may also cause harm to the occupants and the environment.
Exposure to the toxic by-products of these substances can cause immediate harm and can be life threatening. Prolonged exposure to chemicals used in drug labs may contribute to serious long term health issues (including brain, liver, kidney damage and cancer).
Even after the removal of a clandestine laboratory, residual chemical hazards from the toxic fumes and poisonous gases during production and the location where drugs are taken/consumed within the lab environment come into contact with the building structure and content items. The presence of clan lab residues inside a dwelling continues to pose a health and environmental threat to occupants (present plus future) and consequentially the property is considered a contaminated site and deemed unfit for human habitation.
Clan labs are usually set up in rental properties, meaning that future tenants are at greatest risk. Inhabiting the site of a former clandestine laboratory contaminated with a variety of chemical residues can result in serious health problems, particularly for children, elderly, individuals that have immune compromised health problems who are likely to be in contact with surfaces and furnishings containing these residues. This can leave the property owner or property manager at risk of legal action from tenants experiencing adverse health effects.

Kitchen Faucet Manufacturers : How To Choose A Kitchen Faucet?
First, the kitchen faucet can be rotated 360°.
For ease of use, the kitchen faucet should be taller, and the spout should be long. It is best to stretch over the drain and not splash. If there is a hot water line in the kitchen, the faucet should also be double. In order to meet various needs of use, most of the kitchen faucets can now achieve the left and right rotation of the faucet body, while the faucet part, the pull-type faucet can extract the faucet and facilitate cleaning to all corners of the sink, the disadvantage is that it is drawn out. A hand must be vacated to hold the faucet. Some faucets can rotate up and down 360°.
Second, if the financial resources allow, the material of stainless steel is preferred.
The kitchen faucet is usually made of brass, which is the most common pure copper faucet on the market. But due to the characteristics of the kitchen environment, pure copper faucets are not necessarily the best choice. All pure copper faucets are plated on the outermost layer, and the purpose of plating is to prevent corrosion and rust inside the brass. The kitchen has a lot of fumes, and the greasy and cleansing of the hands when washing the dishes often requires cleaning the faucet. If the cleaning is not done in the correct way, it is very likely to damage the plating of the faucet, causing the faucet to be corroded and rusted. If you want to choose a full copper kitchen faucet, be sure to have excellent plating, otherwise it will easily cause the rust and corrosion of the faucet.
Now some manufacturers use high-quality 304 stainless steel to make the faucet. Compared with pure copper faucet, the faucet made of high-quality stainless steel has lead-free, acid-proof, alkali-resistant, non-corrosive, non-release of harmful substances and will not pollute the tap water source. Features. This is very important for the drinking water in the kitchen; and the stainless steel faucet does not need to be electroplated, it is extremely rust-free, and its hardness and toughness are more than twice as high as that of the copper product, so it is very convenient to clean. However, due to the difficulty in processing stainless steel, the current high-quality stainless steel faucets usually have relatively high prices, each of which costs more than 300 yuan.
Third, we must pay attention to whether the nozzle can take care of both sides of the sink.
Pay attention to the length of the basin and the faucet when purchasing. If the kitchen is a double basin, pay attention to whether the length of the nozzle can be rotated while taking care of the sinks on both sides. Now most kitchen faucets can realize the left and right rotation of the faucet body, and the faucet part, the pull-type faucet can extract the faucet and facilitate cleaning to all corners of the sink. The disadvantage is that it must be vacated when the faucet is pulled out. Only hand to hold the faucet.
Fourth, it has an anti-calcification system and an anti-backflow system.
Anti-calcification system: Calcium is deposited in both the shower head and the automatic cleaning system. The same happens with the faucet, where silicon collects. The integrated air cleaner has an anti-calcification system that also prevents the device from being calcified internally.
Anti-backflow system: This system prevents dirty water from being drawn into the clean water pipe and consists of a layer of material. Equipment equipped with an anti-backflow system will be marked with a DVGM pass on the surface of the package.

What Do Fume Extractors Do & Why Do You Need Them?
Fume extraction in the workplace is a subject that is often overlooked & neglected. It still happens in large & small workplace facilities even if there is a lot of air ventilation. The lack of a fume extractor system or fume equipment leads to inviting possible risks posed by poisonous particles in the air. The micro airborne particles contaminate the environment, posing a risk to human health and safety. It is also responsible for equipment damages. Selecting a perfect fume extractor device is the rational answer to such issues.
Why do you need a fume extractor?
Clean, uncontaminated air is an essential component of any work environment. Exposing workers to dust, toxic fumes, vapors, and other occupational hazards can cause serious adverse health effects. Solder fumes and gases are one of the main causes of health problems in any workplace. Having correct fume extractor systems installed is not only important to meet workplace regulations, but ensure the safety and health of your operators.
Fume extractor systems are used to filter and extract toxic particles and dust in the workplace. Most companies will be under strict health and safety guidelines to implement such fume extractor systems. It functions similarly to an air filter that draws contaminated air from the surroundings and then releases clean air. It will trap all the micro-hazardous elements, toxic fumes, and dust particles. The following applications need to employ fume extractor systems:
Soldering/Rework – The temperature needed to create a good solder joint is much higher. It will cause a stronger reaction & create solder smoke with a greater number of toxic particles. The present lead-free solder is a much healthier eco-friendly option for soldering! But it produces harmful particles and gases. The flux fumes from such lead-free alloys require proper ventilation. The micro articles are very much harmful to inhale & are worst for the operator. Would you want to be breathing all this?
Laser – Laser works generate potentially harmful fumes when used over several materials in a manufacturing process. Volatile organic compound (VOC) gases are formed when the laser melts or burns the material! These gases are deadly and could spread rapidly. The release of microscopic particles in the fume can cause asthma attacks and allergies and some rare cases of cancer. The harmful VOC compounds should be removed quickly.
Chemical Cleaning / Etching – Some respiratory irritants include acetone, MEK, sulfuric acids, silicone-based conformal coatings, and even specific kinds of paint. These are one of the few chemicals whose pollution can be quantified. Such chemical compositions should not be inhaled!
What do fume extractor filters do?
A fume extractor is a device that uses a fan to draw fume and airborne particles into a filtration system. It has one or more filters which purge the air that contains potentially dangerous substances. The negative draft fume extractor fan in it will pull the fumes and dust particles into a contained filtration system. This process removes hazardous particles from the air. How? Fume extractors come in three distinct stages of a filtration system. Its pre-filter system will trap the medium or fine dust particles. It will capture hazardous substances. Much smaller particles are subsequently captured in an EPA or HEPA particle filter as the air enters the filters. The final filter stage is intended for removing gases, odors, adhesive and solvent fumes. It will ultimately filter the toxic air & release fresh air back into the workplace. It is also free of any toxins or harmful air particles. However, all workplaces may not require a 3-stage filtration system! You need to select a fume extractor system based on your work & workplace. These units take up less space, weigh less, are more energy efficient, and have easy access to change filters.

An extraction hood provides safe ventilation to protect against exposure to hazardous or toxic fumes, vapors, or airborne particles. A chemical extraction hood is primarily used in laboratory and manufacturing applications to protect the user or the environment outside the hood, but it can also be used to protect materials or experiment under the hood. Ducted extractor hood designs connect to a remote exhaust system to safely ventilate the building's exterior. Ductless extractor hood configurations filter and recirculate purified air through an integrated fan and filtration system.
Laboratory extraction hood add-ons include activated carbon filters to remove non-hazardous nuisance odors. HEPA or ULPA filters can also be added to a light-duty fume hood to remove microscopic dust and microbes. Explosion-proof extractor hood configurations are available for volatile or combustible applications. A wall-mounted canopy extractor hood provides additional flexibility when floor space is limited.

How a Fume Hood Works
An extractor hood is a ventilated enclosure in which gases, vapors and fumes are contained. An extractor located at the top of the laboratory building extracts the air and airborne contaminants through the connected ducts and expels them into the atmosphere.
The typical extraction hood found in Princeton University laboratories is equipped with a movable front blade and an inner deflector. Depending on its design, the blade can move vertically, horizontally or a combination of the two and provides some protection to the bell user by acting as a barrier between the worker and the experiment.
Slots and deflectors direct the air that is expelled. In many hoods, they can be adjusted to allow for the most uniform flow. It is important that the deflectors are not closed or blocked, as this blocks the escape route.
The airfoil or beveled frame around the hood face allows more even airflow into the hood by avoiding sharp curves that can create turbulence.
There are basically two types of fume hoods at Princeton, they are:
Constant volume –
where the exhaust flow or the amount of air extracted through the hood is constant. Therefore, when the blade is lowered and the cross-sectional area of the bonnet opening decreases, the speed of airflow (front speed) through the bonnet increases proportionally. Therefore, higher front speeds can be obtained by lowering the blade.
Variable air volume (VAV) -
Where the exhaust flowrate or quantity of air pulled through the hood varies as the sash is adjusted in order to maintain a set face velocity. Therefore, when the sash is lowered and the cross-sectional area of the hood opening decreases, the velocity of airflow (face velocity) through the hood stays the same while less total air volume is exhausted.

A Detailed And Comprehensive Guide To Laboratory Fume Hoods
Fume hoods that are used in the laboratory are essentially ventilation systems that are primarily used to exhaust chemical fumes, gases, vapors, dust, aerosol, and mist. These hoods can also be used as physical barriers between laboratory and intense reactive solutions. This can shield against exposure to inhalation, run-away reactions and accidental chemical spills. For most part, the fumes that are used in laboratories are box-shaped, fitted with a portable sash window. Most of the experimental procedures performed inside the hood are made sure they are safely ventilated by using extract blower and ductwork. The chemical fumes are exhausted and diluted multiple times in the environment, making them ineffective for human health. An extract treatment system, also referred to as scrubber can be placed when there is an urgent environmental concern. The price of laboratory fume hoods can vary quite a lot. For example, the price of an 8 inch fume hood can be in the range of $10,000 to $65,000.
As for the working of the hood, it works by keeping a negative (relative) pressure on the hood’s interior to prevent any kind of contamination of the environment. To ensure there’s an effective and safe operation of the hood, a suitable hood face velocity must be maintained. This velocity is the speed at which the air is drawn into the hood. For general cases, experts recommend the velocity to be in the range of 60 fpm (feet per minute) to 100 fpm. Having said that, it is also important to check with the local safety and handling instructions provided by the manufacturer.
There are many variants of fume hoods that are used in the laboratories and other similar areas. Some of the most commonly used hoods include distillation fume hood, perchloric acid fume hood, ductless fume hood, demonstration fume hood, floor mounted fume hood, and acid digestion fume hood. As for the most crucial components of the hood, we have the hood body, baffles, sash (vertical, horizontal, and combination of the two), airfoil, work surface, face, and exhaust plenum.
The fume hood that you are using must be ideal for the maximum containment. Also, make sure that there is an ample amount lab supply air, which will allow to function at the desired face velocity. Keep in mind that you cannot use fume hoods for disposal of wastes. You can consider used fume hoods for sale and not just brand new ones while considering items for your laboratory.
