about float

float is a type of shadow creature called an Umbrian. he is literally a shadow, like a living one.

his natural form is that of a shadow, usually in a vaguely human shape. you know those pictures of shadow people? that's essentially what he looks like.

float looked a little more normal in ancient Greece so he could blend in with other mortals. he only swapped his hair to pink when hair dye finally became a thing.

he's also 6000+ years old. so thats fun.

My name is Sasha and that is the only name I have. I am seventeen today, on my way to being an adult.

Right now, I’m dreaming of something. A white building with immaculate landscaping, all the flowers are blue. There’s someone at the door, they seem to shift from an old man to a young woman; she almost looks like me. She’s beckoning me to follow her; I do so. The inside of the building is old, with stone walls and floors. There are bookshelves on every wall, down every corridor; it looks like a dream for someone like me. But the scene changes, a room with fountains and rushing water. The doors slam behind me and I find myself being dragged to the front of the room, up the stone steps and into the water. I can’t breathe, I can’t move, everything is dark. I can feel a hand on my shoulder, I try to bat it away but I still can’t move. It’s so dark, all I can hear is the water roaring next to my ear. The hand shakes me. I squeeze my eyes shut, I hate being underwater. The hand shakes me again and I can hear something that sounds like my name. Was that my name?
