I was working on this video when the Investigations Collection Announcement dropped, then proceeded to spiral for the next few days before finally finishing it.

Not to discredit all the other amazing people who worked on the games he directed, but why is Shu Takumi so skilled what the fuck. Why am I finding out he not only directed, designed, and wrote a lot of the Ace Attorney games, but also provided the original voice for Phoenix Wright, and composed The Guitar’s Serenade. He’s also a very good visual artist with a distinct style. (He made some comics for the aa series a while back, and Ghost Trick seems to be mostly in his style.) How do you acquire this many fucking skills

One thing I really appreciate about Ace Attorney is that ‘Main Character has a Quirky Upbeat Girl Sidekick’ became a Series Rule pretty much immediately and also every single Quirky Upbeat Girl Sidekick in the series is a different kind of Wacky and so the AA Cast pretty quickly became a very good showcase of all the different flavors of Weirdgirl.

ace attorney investigations 2 convince me every single time i play it that in that world people can conceive without having sex

until now apollo, rayfa, her brother and this old man whose son died in that fey country are the only ones (i believe?) to have had a mother and a father explicitly shown on the game. all the rest have been single mothers and fathers

(well the feys also Are Mentioned to have fathers that just stop existing after being conceived but that doesnt count)

apollo games brought the concept of parenthood into the phoenix wright series, meanwhile the older games believed in non sexual ways to reproduce
