Humans are weird: What must be done
( Please come see me on my new patreon and support me for early access to stories and personal story requests :D https://www.patreon.com/NiqhtLord Every bit helps) (meeting screens fizzle on one by one)
High Commander: Thank you all for attending this alliance conference.
High Commander: I know many of you are scattered across the quadrant, so this conference will have to do for now.
Volgond: Is it not unwise to meet over a transmitted conference?
Vologond: Our enemies could hack into the signal and gain a tactical advantage from our discussions.
Primary C: (In robotic voice) This outcome is unlikely.
Primary C: My people are encrypting the signal with an ever morphing signal frequency that not even our enemies most advanced machines could detect.
Primary C: Only a Cythogen can detect and translate the signal for it to be understandable.
High Commander: To which we are grateful you have contributed your people’s talents to the war effort.
Vologond: (Grumbles) I would still insist our next meeting be in person.
High Commander: Noted.
High Commander: We shall begin with updates along the northern front with Sun Bearer Arthrix.
Sun Bearer Arthrix: We’ve made great strides in recent months in the Hepestus cluster. Three systems have fallen to our forces there but our supply lines now are dangerously spread thin. Our enemies have taken note of this and begun raiding our supply convoys with ever increasing ferocity stalling our campaign.
High Commander: I will dispatch the 4th and 5th reserve fleets to begin escort duties which should alleviate the pressure. In the meantime consolidate the new territories you have captured until you are ready for continued operations.
Sun Bearer Arthrix: It will be done.
High Commander:  Now (flips through some pages) for the ongoing battle for Merina, have you made any progress General Anthony?
General Anthony: The world now rests entirely within alliance hands.
(Several gasps and looks of surprise among the gathered alien commanders)
High Commander: You can confirm this?
General Anthony: Aside from the occasional squad or two of enemy forces that escaped the final battle all major installations and population centers are under terrain control. The previously mentioned scattered survivors are being hunted down now.
Taskmaster Folgar: I find this unbelievable.
General Anthony: Careful now, I may take that as an insult.
Taskmaster Folgar: It took me over a year to establish a beachhead on that planet and my forces were nearly wiped out by the automated defense systems employed. Yet you come along and relieve me of my command and suddenly the planet falls within a month?
(murmurs of commanders heard over the background)
High Commander: While it begrudges me to ask this, can you present proof of the conquest?
General Anthony: (says nothing as screen changes to live feed from Merina)
(The feed shows Terran soldiers patrolling through the shattered remnants of once proud cities that had been protected by advanced sky energy domes that blocked orbital fire and walls lined with powerful automated plasma cannons that annihilated enemies from several miles away
Walls of the fortress cities were cracked wide open and shattered in many places. Many of the fierce automated guns now lay broken and battered on the ground and the ones that still were atop the battlements were being dismantled by terrain engineers to send back to their R&D departments)
General Anthony: Our enemies became complacent while they hid behind their walls; so assured of their durability that once they were breached they lacked the ability to mount a suitable defense.
Primary C: How did you breach the walls?
Taskmaster Folgar: I wish to know this as well.
General Anthony: It was rather simple really.
General Anthony: While observing the enemy we noticed that the automated guns would not fire on an area if they detected one of their own within to projected blast radius.
Primary C: No doubt a safety feature built into the weapons targeting parameters to prevent friendly fire incidents.
General Anthony: (Nods) That is what we figured as well.
General Anthony: So over the course of a month we captured as many enemy soldiers as we could-
Taskmaster Folgar: (Scoffs) We tried interrogating them before and they gave up no useful information.
General Anthony: (Glares at the taskmaster before continuing)- and loaded them on to trucks packed with explosives.
High Commander: You did what?
General Anthony: We then remotely controlled those same trucks to drive directly into the base of the wall segments our engineers determined that if damaged would trigger a structural collapse of the entire-
High Commander: YOU DID WHAT?!
General Anthony: These interruptions are quite tiresome now.
Taskmaster Folgar: Do you have any idea the violations of war you have committed?
High Commander: You will be stripped of your rank for such actions!
General Anthony: And what of you then, High Commander?
High Commander: Me?
General Anthony: When you gave me the order to relieve the Taskmaster you told me that you wanted Merina captured by any means necessary.
General Anthony: (Emphasizing) “By any means necessary”.
General Anthony: I followed your orders to the letter and captured the world; so it is you yourself that has ordered any such violations.
High Commander: Do not think you can twist my words to get yourself out of-
General Anthony: (cuts in) Primary C, would you not state that my actions were the most efficient method to bring about the end of a costly conflict?
Primary C: (Silent as it calculates)
Primary C: While removing the organic factor of “honor” and “morality”, I compute that your actions did resolve the matter of Merina without further losses to manpower and resources.
General Anthony: And taskmaster, dear taskmaster; when you spent over a year attempting to crack the planets defenses how many of your men did you lose?
Taskmaster Folgar: That is not the-
General Anthony: How. Many?
Taskmaster Folgar: (Remains silent)
General Anthony: That is what I thought.
General Anthony: (Turns to address High Commander) You cannot give me an order and ask it be completed by any means necessary and not expect me to follow your instructions to the letter.
High Commander: Do you not have a soul?
High Commander: Do you feel nothing for those you sent to their deaths?
General Anthony: Such is the nature of all those who hold positions of power.
General Anthony: But if you must know I was the one who escorted the prisoners to the trucks myself, and they were quite enthusiastic about it.
High Commander: What?
General Anthony: Yes. I told them that they were going home and they hopped right in.

So I recently connected with some other authors here and read some alien-based stories that inspired me. This is a one-off from a series called Check-Up by @fullfriendnerdpurse hopefully I do your series justice
Check Up: Eric
A young and nerdy scientist worked on side by side to let powerful men around his own proximity and even the whole world fell victim to the control of a crash-landed small batch of extraterrestrial civilization. His lustful desire to the idea of having the apex of human civilization succumbed to the control of him and his invader buddies blinded him. He's sick and tired with the way society treated him and constantly paid attention to the type of men that pushed people around with their powerful influencer or their good looks and muscle. One of them is named Eric
The alien shoved into him clearly enjoyed the otherworldly senses it instantly felt upon controlling Eric's muscle tank body. The testosterone that coursed through his physical system, the complexity of his muscle and organ that far exceeded the complexity of the slimy being, the way his whole body emitted this powerful aroma and pheromone, the alien just knows it acquired a very fine specimen in human standard
Tumblr media
A gym junkie with a day job as premium real estate agent, Eric is also a fine stepping stones to access an even richer and more douchebag section of the society. He's been proven useful as he managed to work alongside the nerd to acquire more bodies for the alien as he lured in the interested property buyer into the property where the nerd already waited with a scoop of slimy alien ready to be shoved up into these rich people's orifices
Tumblr media
The alien inside Eric also love to tap into Eric's hidden submissiveness. While the real Eric might not be too keen to tap into his more vulnerable side, the alien love to exploit it because Eric's body just responded to it very well with the hardening cock that leaked pre which the alien always enjoyed to experience. So sometimes, after a day where he helped the nerd acquire another bodies, the alien would make Eric said things like
"Look at you buff dumb bull. After fucking up your own marriage to serve small puddle of slime, now you fucked up another family! Because of you, the 27th richest man in America and his 31 years old son controlled by alien now and you are fucking hard because of it! You stupid little slut, a body so big but there's nothing inside of it,"
Tumblr media
The alien also remain amazed with its vessel's physique even after months living as him. Either through his social media activity that the nerd watched or when they have video call, it is one of the vessel that is having the most fun utilizing its vessel as it makes Eric more on the playful side rather than arrogant.
Tumblr media
During his latest check-up after the video call from the previous week, he welcomed the nerd while doing workout in his garage. He's shirtless and only using a pretty colorful socks (something the alien also love to add to Eric's monochromatic attire set) paired with a tight compression that hid nothing to the imagination.
Tumblr media
After doing some more rep of his workout while updating the nerd with info about his activity for the past 1 month, they walked in and the nerd then watched him cleaned up after himself for the check up. He skipped showering for most of the time unless he really need to such as meeting prospective buyer, so the idea of clean up is simply him changing clothes.
Being the playful slime that it is, it started teasing the nerdy scientist as Eric suddenly started jiggling his own ass in the tight short shorts and folded himself to present his ass to the nerd with its vial
"Please, it's been a while. I'll shoot my load if you just pressed that tip in, nerd. Just do it,"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The nerd just smirked, the perks of being the number one ally for a cooperative alien civilization really becomes the number one reason why he's constantly in search for more vessel to acquire, and with the way that the slime multiplies, it seems like there's no stopping soon

Dirty Windows | 10 | Nora x Hancock
A Fallout 4 Soulmate AU
\\
Fic Summary:
Hancock never thought he would find his soulmate. Once a common occurrence, soulmates turned into a bit of a rarity after the bombs dropped. It was to be expected when there was an influx of people getting shot in the face on a daily basis. So when Hancock discovered that he had a soulmate he was ecstatic; all of the people in the Commonwealth, and he was one of the lucky few.
Too bad his soulmate didn't want anything to do with him.
When Nora thought for sure she was going to die too, the pain stopped – and then there was nothing. Nothing but the emptiness. Nothing but the grief. Half of her soul was suddenly gone forever. She was dropped in the middle of the ocean, drifting among the waves with no land in sight. Then just as suddenly she had been cast adrift, she found land. The hole was filled the moment it had been created. As she gripped Nate’s vault suit and begged him to open his eyes, Nora found herself battling with the horrifying realization that she had another soulmate; that some stranger had taken Nate's place.
\\
[ 1 ] <- [ 5 ] [ 6 ] [ 7 ] [ 8 ] [ 9 ] - [ 11 ]
\\
Nora Morrison was a woman who firmly believed in law and order; she believed in the justice system. She believed that those who infringed upon the law must be judged by a group of their peers, and given a just sentence. The problem was that there was no room for old world ideals in the Commonwealth. These people were murderers who showed absolutely no hesitation, and they had no fear of any potential consequences, because there were none. These people were wild, and they were crazy, and for some reason they really seemed to want Nora dead. During her stint as a prosecuting attorney, Nora had been on the receiving end of a whole lot of ire – but this was something else entirely.
The, admittedly petty, endeavor to hate her soulmate and drive him away crumbled the very moment he came barging back into her head. It should be strange, how he was consistently there whenever she needed him. Like he would always come and check on her at just the right time. It was typically deeply annoying, and she often wished him away. This time she not only welcomed the man, but she finally reached out to him willfully. Their connection became firmly set, so steadfast that it felt like a tangible thing. The man gasped softly.
Nora’s vision was clouded with the man’s view of whatever room he was in – there was a chair sitting in front of an open window, a couch tucked off to the side of a room – before she pushed the image from her mind and focused on his emotions. There was a feeling of absolute panic, but there was an underlying layer of anger. He would have to work on controlling his own emotions when accessing their bond; he was letting her feelings influence his to a noticeable degree.
She took a slow breath, catching the smell of phantom cigarette smoke, something like burning petrichor, and something else that was tangy-sweet. That was from him. Those were his senses.
Another breath and she was picking up the smell of dust, coppery blood, and rotting wood. Mold. Mildew. That was her environment.
It took her a handful of precious seconds to make the connection to his mind, and then sift through all of the accompanying sensations until she was left with what she wanted. It was his emotions that she needed, and even though she was seeking out some sort of level-headed calm, she could work with his anger – she could feed off of it.
Nora struggled under the dead weight of the man she killed as she tried to prop his corpse up against the old desk she hid behind. Even the slightest bit of anger helped take the shake out of her hands, and brought some strength back to her limbs. She’d definitely need to be nice to her soulmate after this.
“Do you have time to reload?” His graveled voice was rasping low and threatening. “Find some more mags t’pack around after this. Running into a goddamn firefight with just one was real damn stupid.”
Nora scoffed. She slid the magazine free and started shoving in bullet after bullet until the magazine was full. “It’s not like I did it on purpose,” she growled, her tone matching his. More gunfire punctuated the statement, more yelling followed.
“How many you got left?” Her eyes dipped down to her gun. “Not bullets. I saw how many bullets you got. How many assholes are there tryin’ t’kill ya?”
Nora chanced a quick peak, yelping as the edge of her cover was torn away by a bullet. It wasn’t really much cover, it was an old heavy wooden desk but it was doing a mighty fine job at keeping her safe at the moment. “Three?”
“Was that a question or an answer?”
Biting down on her tongue was the only way to prevent herself from swearing at him. Ultimately, she didn’t mind swearing – Nate had a military mouth – but she herself tried to avoid cursing. It wasn’t lady-like, for one thing. A visceral memory of her mother forcing her to bite down on a bar of soap for having a “dirty mouth” was another.
“I counted three,” she ground out.
“Yer gonna hafta kill ‘em,” he replied. “And yer not gonna have the time to be gettin’ sick every time you do it, ya feel me?”
The connection she established faltered when her eyes drifted to the corpse she sat beside. She had killed a man. It wasn’t her first time seeing a dead body; she hadn’t shied away from crime scenes and morgue visits in her career. It was so much more different, though, knowing that she was the one that made the kill. She took someone’s life. Despite the situation, a surge of guilt had her eyes growing misty.
“Hey, sister, get yer head in the game!” Her eyes snapped to the side, away from the body, the connection stabilizing.
The man was irritated, she could feel it right along with his anger. She could use that, too. The only problem with utilizing those emotions was that she found herself snapping right back at him, “I told you to stop yelling at me!”
“Then focus!”
“You focus!”
It had been bound to happen. The stranger was overly receptive to her emotions, incapable of blocking them from affecting his own. During his last visit, he had come barging into her headspace only for his intentions to be broken down under the assault of her own grief. In Nora’s current circumstance, with both of them reaching for the other, and with the man incapable – or unwilling – to block out her emotions, they were creating a feedback loop of sorts. His anger affected her, affected him, affected her…
Even though Nora was aware of it happening, having a building white-hot rage burning in her chest was leagues better than the raw guilt that was roiling in her gut. She leaned into it, embraced it as tightly as she could.
The stranger growled. It was a deep, rumbling sound that carried more gravel than a quarry. It sounded like a feral animal. “Shoot at them. Stay below cover.”
She did. Remaining tucked low behind cover, she fired in her assailant’s direction blindly. There was a surprised yelp from their end of the fight this time, and then resounding laughter. She fired again, and the laughing fell silent.
“Okay. You’re going to push our friend away from you. Out from cover. Use him to draw fire.” His words were clipped, and precise, and they left very little room for argument. Nora took hold of the corpse’s shoulder just before her soulmate continued. “Hey.”
She paused.
“You’re going to get one shot at this. Make it fuckin’ count, you hear me?”
“I hear you.”
Nora gave the corpse a firm push, and his body toppled out from behind the overturned desk she crouched behind. The movement caught her assailants’ attention, and the corpse promptly became riddled with bullets. From the other side of the desk, Nora peered out from cover. She caught her first target crouching out in the open, a look of shock on his face. He started to redirect his aim just as she settled hers on him.
“Shoot him.”
Nora pulled the trigger. The gun jumped in her hand, and she ended up shooting too wide.
“Lean into the shot! Pull the trigger and fuckin’ MEAN IT! This is your life or theirs! Kill them!”
She did.
She killed all three.

Is it worth it?
Dick hurried back to the cave where Damian and Tim were now.
Tim had stayed away from the estate since his triumphant return with the news that Bruce was alive.
But no matter how hard he tried to keep his distance, Dick couldn't help but notice the painful thinness, the extra layers of foundation that most likely hid new scars, and the fear of touch.
And finally, Dick was able to organize a joint patrol, and even united Damian and Tim together! And they barely resisted! Only to learn through the Oracle that Damian was trying to kill Tim again. Through the comm, he ordered them both to return to the cave and hurried to do the same.
Apparently his brothers decided to continue their argument in the Cave, although they took out their comms, probably hoping that he wouldn't hear anything and wouldn't be able to yell at them through the communication devices. He immediately asked Babs to turn on the audio feed from the scene for him.
- Stop lying that you don't understand! - Oh, Damian is furious, good thing he removed all the knives from easily accessible hidden places.
- I saw your hit list! Everyone you considered a threat! You have plans for confronting everyone! And I'm on that list! And Jason and even Father!
Oh, shit, he forgot to tell Baby Bat that this is standard practice. Shit.
- It's not my fault that Dickie tried so hard to paint your world pink and sprinkle everything with glitter that he didn't familiarize you with the standard procedures! - Tim..
- Don't you dare slander Grayson, you dirty liar! If everything was as you say, then there wouldn't be several names missing from your list!
- Everyone was there...
- Have the honor of stopping me in the face of the truth! I've exposed your vile lies! Your list is missing Grayson, at the very least!
- Because if Dick, in his right mind and memory, without being under anyone's control, goes to the dark side, then something is really wrong with the World!
Oh, Tim...
Dick couldn't even imagine that after everything that happened, his little brother still thought so highly of him.
-Screw it, I'm going home, you can tell Dick whatever you want. Dick picked up speed, he had to catch his brother in time.
-Grayson told us to wait. - Dick didn't think he'd ever heard Damian so confused.
-Dick is not my Batman.
No, but as a brother, I've made a lot of mistakes.
------------------------------------------------------- That night, Dick lay in the middle of the bed, he hadn't managed to intercept Tim, and he couldn't stop thinking: "if Dick, ..., goes to the dark side, then something is really wrong with the World!".
Were his brothers really so ready to blindly follow him? Even after all the failures? Being an avenger is an extremely dangerous job, and he argued a lot with B about not allowing children in the field at all. They couldn't help but hear their arguments. So why didn't they stop? Was it possible that the fact that he continues to support this system, even though he disagrees with many points, keeps them in this trap?
No, he shouldn't think so, with all their shortcomings, they have already saved this World many times. He can't be selfish.
"if Dick, ..., goes to the dark side, then something is really wrong with the World!"
Did other young heroes look up to him for approval? "You're Mr. Nightwing, right? I'm such a big fan!" "Were you the first Robin? When I found out you started out as a kid, I knew I could bring something bright to this world too!"
Dick lay there and remembered how many of those kids had been let down by adults. How the older kids had looked down on them, even despised them, how young, innocent souls had died because of it. How he had buried his brother himself. How they had all buried their friends.
Should he really support this obviously broken system?
No, he shouldn't think that, it's just fatigue, he's clearly overwhelmed by the role of Batman, Nightwing, and older brother. When B comes back, everything will be different, everything will be better.
"if Dick, ..., goes to the dark side, then something is really wrong with the World!"

As part of v0.04a‘s alpha test, one of my good friends suggested that in order to improve the clarity of my UI, to add tooltips to the various symbols that players may not know about.
I was sucking air through my teeth silently because I knew this was an absolutely necessary, but time consuming step. AND YET, I make games and so must suffer for them.
Part of the suffering was due to the CRT shader. Because I only had access to the raw coordinates of the text, and NOT where they were after being warped on the screen, my tooltip “hitboxes” were always out by a small number. Crucially though, this was not a consistent number, as text on the edges of the screen gets warped more than in the middle, and that’s not to mention there are screens without the CRT shader (and you can also disable the warping completely in the options menu.
I thought to, essentially, replicate the shader’s x and y warping algorithm in order to determine where the text was, but after explaining this to another friend, he asked if the UI was also prone to this misalignment. And he hit on the exact thing I was missing - YES, all of the UI was under the effects of the shader, except for the mouse cursor!
So I hid the system cursor and added my own cursor which is absolutely affected by the shader, and now everything lines up!!! I had a variant of this cursor for ages but only used once to test cursor replacement. I polished it up a little and now it’s a real part of the game. Also, if you’re using a controller, I’ll be adding a button to allow control of a virtual cursor so you guys don’t miss out on the tooltips.
Anyway, all that drama/joking aside, that’s all done now. It only works with text inside textboxes, but I plan to expand this in the future to the bigger icons (say, in the affinities grid towards the middle of the screen. More soon!

(I really hope I'm not being too much I just love the way you see them so much 😅)
so for any House MD character(s) you prefer :
💡How did they discover age regression?
🌈What about their regression is unusual, unexpected, or non-traditional?
🃏Your favorite random headcanon about their regression?
(No no no don’t worry I love these asks! You’re fine haha) (though I would like some from other fandoms)
I’m going for (naturally) House and Chase because why not?
(This one’s a little less safe, I think. There’s mention of restricting necessary drugs in the second question, and briefly of meltdowns. Other than that, it’s OK.)
💡💡 They both already knew about it. It’s required to do a psychiatry rotation for medical students, so they certainly came across it. When House started regressing, he was in a lot of denial about the fact. Chase was more open to it, though he had to ease into regressing completely and not just partially.
🌈 I’m not exactly sure what this question means, actually. I have a gist, though, so…for House, it’s his Vicodin. His pain doesn’t go away, after all. Unfortunately, he’s not the one in control of how much he can take at a time when he’s little, and Wilson is, incorrectly, under the belief that restricting access to the pills is a ‘good’ way of tapering House’s addiction. He hid them, but the system didn’t last very long after the first few meltdowns, and now the Vicodin is a given (though Greg has to swallow them with water sometimes. And he generally has to tell Wilson when he needs the pills instead of just taking them.)
🌈 For Chase…I don’t know. He’s just a very energetic kiddo who has to get bribed because his caregiver can’t handle running after him.
🃏 I mentioned that Greg is a cuddlebug in another post, and likes falling asleep with some part of him close to or on Wilson, but now we’re talking about Wilson as a caregiver! Yay! It takes a while for him to get out of his caregiver headspace, and while they’re working he’ll sorta…treat House like he would at home. Hold hands while walking, brush a thumb over his cheek, slip up and call him ‘Greg’ or ‘sweetie’ a few times. The usual stuff.
Unfortunately for House, this has proven to be too effective (he will never admit in a million years that Wilson’s mere presence makes his voluntary-involuntary regression a little more involuntary than it used to be). Wilson would never say anything either, but he likes that his best friend can allow himself to be that vulnerable with him, and that makes him value their relationship more.
🃏 Robert LOVES story time! Adores it! He can’t go to bed without a story. Sadly, it’s usually the same few books over and over because House doesn’t want to clutter his shelf with kids books or people asking questions (he doesn’t work with kids, so he has no valid excuse). But Robert doesn’t mind. He’s just happy having a story read to him, and House can be surprisingly ‘gentle’ (read: quiet) when the situation calls for it. He’s also the only reason House has ever bought chocolate milk AND hot cocoa mix. He doesn’t get nightmares often, but when he does, they’re really messy (figuratively and literally- Chase regresses very young), and he’ll have to get a nice drink and a few stories to calm him down again.
(Also, Robert has a lot of pacifiers because he needs them and they make him feel safe while Greg has, like, one or two - that he does actually use - because he’s too old for pacifiers! Duh! Jimmy just didn’t get the memo.)

Space Defense Lanzer Ep. 1
Tumblr media
SIYANQOBA VOLUNTEER AND OFFICER RECORDS
Ngodumo Lwe Siyanqoba
Name: Nomfundo Dimba
Place of Origin: Kwazulu Outskirts, southernmost coast of Africa
Birth Date: ~081 ADA
Height and Weight: ~165 cm, ~95 kg
Rank and Duties: Kaptein of Siyanqoba Air and Space Force in charge of experimental personnel.
Etc.: Highest authority granted regarding Lanzer and pilot access, Lord Zama allows her to go as she pleases unless indicated otherwise. [Note: yes, this includes the cat, too]
Kwazulu Launch Base Zone was one of the few LBZ’s that was designed to be used without a skeleton crew, controlled entirely through automated processes with no human overseers. To keep the system running smoothly and without interference, the entire complex was surrounded by thick walls with no way in or out besides over or through.
Which was precisely the reason a small fleet of repurposed semi trucks was speeding through the encampment surrounding Kwazulu at a blinding speed.
Young Nomfundo sat at the driver’s seat of the lead truck, her foot pressed onto the gas with the weight of a mountain and her eyes focused on the thick concrete wall in front of her like a hawk closing in on a shrew. She had been chosen by the patriarch of the Siyanqoba, Lord Zama for this specific task and she refused to let him down, so the heavily spiked front of her truck will go through that wall like a rod from a railgun, through hell or high water.
“Closing in on our destination in 3 minutes. Prepare the Lanzers,” a deep voice echoes in her ear. With that, the 5 semis’ cloaked cargo stood at attention, the 15-meter tall bipedal vehicles that spelled victory for the Siyanqoba.
“Aim cannons at the designated points. Be ready to fire on my command. 5, 4, 3, mark. Fire!” From their reclaimed steel huts, the people living in the shadow of the LBZ watched as the Lanzers’ missile cannons aimed at the wall and fired in unison. Many cheered, others hid in fear and worry. None of them could do anything else as the missiles struck true, a large divot cracking and crumbling in the pressure and heat.
“Final destination coming up, all passengers off!”
Nomfundo’s hands squeezed the steering wheel like a prized treasure, the dark skin on her knuckles turning a ghostly white. Her view of the cracked wall was only interrupted by a Lanzer placing a massive explosive charge on the truck’s reinforced bumper and its head turning inside to the young driver. “Oye! Dimba! That means you! Open the door!”
Ever since she had met Zama, she knew that this is what she was meant for. She gritted her teeth, closed her eyes tightly, and counted down as her wheeled rocket barreled towards the end of the line. The voices in her ear could barely be heard over her racing heart forcing blood through her skull, and she couldn’t pay attention enough to notice the driver’s side door being ripped off.
Nomfundo’s lead truck crashed into the wall with the force of a deity’s fist, embedding itself in the divot, crumpling before the charge ignited and caused the wall to ripple with energy. 3 more trucks slammed into it from behind and did the same, before the 4th had enough space to sail through and slam into an inner wall. Young Dimba didn’t see this, as it took a moment before she opened her eyes as she sailed through the air in a Lanzer’s hand. Its jump off of the truck’s bed sent the mech clear over the explosion before landing on a roof. “You good, Dimba?”
Her breathing slowly settled as she watched the Siyanqoba’s main force flooded through the hole she had made, armed with century-old guns and covered with makeshift armor. An ancient jeep carrying Lord Zama himself rolled in slowly before he stood up, looked around, and locked eyes with the young hero of the day well above him. He then gave her a smile and a salute, which she returned with grateful tears in her eyes.
“Gebruikers bespeur. Oudiovisuele gebruikerskoppelvlak geaktiveer. Sleutel wagwoord in.”
Zama’s face crumpled at the sound of the system computer. He snapped his fingers at the followers behind him, and two engineers carrying a bundle of drives connected through a series of cables rushed ahead. “Shut this thing up.”
The engineers flipped through the possible inputs that it could take before deciding on a pair of aux speakers. “Language detected. Adjusting inputs accordingly. Enter password.”
Nomfundo, still sweating and shaking, peaked in through the doorway of the computer room as the adrenalin slowly wore off. Her eyes widened as she realized that this was the closest she had ever been to Lord Zama, his massive imposing figure covered in animal furs and skin as dark as the night sky was 100 years ago. Her legs subconsciously carried her closer to him.
Meanwhile, the engineer’s strange device erupted with hundreds, thousands of words in every language all at once, rapid fire with no breaths in between. The LBZ’s system computer couldn’t reply fast enough. “Password incorrect. Password incorrect. Password incPassword incoPasswoPassPasPapapapapppppppp”
Some buttons were pressed on one of the drives, and some buttons on another, and then the sounds coming from the speakers could only be described as unnatural and unholy. No creature in existence could produce those sounds. It turned into a cacophony, then a din, and then a painful buzz before it stopped abruptly as young Dimba held her ears in agony. “Password accccccccpppppp Rebooting. Please wait.”
The giant screen covering the wall went blank, then bright blue. Words in a language that Nomfundo didn’t recognize spilled over it before a text box appeared, and then another, and yet another still before the entire screen was covered. Then, a live video feed of the rocket on the launch pad appeared with a blinking cursor next to the phrase “Enter Command.” Nomfundo stopped next to the patriarch, and stared mouth agape. “What’s that?”
Surprised, Zama looked down at her and smiled. “Ah, my young hero,” he said with a voice that could move mountains. “This is our future, this will lead to our prosperity. Boys, activate your program.”
“Yes, my lord,” they responded faithfully, and pressed a few more buttons before the speakers activated again with a series of unrecognizable noises. The blinking text input disappeared beneath code appearing and disappearing with stunning speed. The rocket’s boosters turned on, and a faint roar echoed through the halls of the complex. Another window popped up showing a map of outer space showing a line from Kwazulu to the orbit around the moon. The line then flashed, and a hundred other lines appeared and disappeared one by one until only one remained, similar to the first. “Huh…” one of the engineers said.
“What do you mean ‘huh’?” the patriarch growled.
“No, nothing, my lord. This will be the path we desire.”
Nomfundo was understandably baffled. “Isn’t… isn’t this what is supposed to happen? The rocket takes the chargon to space?”
Her lord smiled, and his voice caused the building to quake. “Haha, oh, my small hero. Computer, show the space colonies rotating the moon”
A tube-shaped object appeared on the map on a circle around the moon. “Animate the path of the rocket in relation to the colonies.”
The rocket moved along the line that the computer had made, and Nomfundo watched as the rocket’s relative position slid directly to where the colony was, down to the kilometer. Lord Zama’s mouth widened into a row of bright ivory-white teeth. “The Abantu Benyanga will understand their mistake of abandoning us.”
Young Nomfundo was in awe. Millions of people will die, she realized. Lord Zama is a mastermind. It wouldn’t be for a few more years that she grew mature enough to realize the level of pure evil the man radiated, and by that time she was already on a path to grow close enough to do something about it.

🍎 - was your headspace there when you first discovered you were a system, or did you have to make/build it?
🍑 - do your alters have their own spaces/rooms?
🍎 - was your headspace there when you first discovered you were a system, or did you have to make/build it?
I wasn't around back then, so most of this is hearsay; we discovered we were a system and began actually looking into our headspace when we were around 20 or so? I believe? And at that point one of our gatekeepers kind of hid away much of the system for the hosts'/frequent fronters/anps' protection. I believe they were kinda in a liminal space type area, basically just a large white space with some passages and doors but nobody but Ghost (the gatekeeper) and a few trauma holders at the time could access the passage ways. There were other parts of the headspace, our inner world is rather large and complex because we're a highly-complex system with many subsystems and side systems, but the people who were active and fronting frequently back then only had access to this one controlled white area
🍑 - do your alters have their own spaces/rooms?
I guess you could say that. It's different for other alters, I'm sure, but me personally, I'm located in an old abandoned hospital and I have my own room. There's not much in there. Other people that are in my same location also have their own rooms/offices/etc. There's other locations, and I'm sure they have rooms there or their own spaces, but I'm kinda restricted to the hospital unless I'm moved somewhere or allowed to go out/wander around, so I haven't really seen parts of the headspace myself very often.

As Republican-led states like Florida continue to target marginalized groups through legislation, a Black Florida state Senator is calling out his ultra-conservative colleagues. From limiting discussions of race in the classroom and launching a war on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), to silencing LGBTQ+ students, Sen. Shevrin Jones is sounding the alarm.
Speaking about bills that have passed in Florida following the nationwide uprising for racial justice in the wake of the police lynching of George Floyd, Sen. Jones, who is both Black and gay, didn’t mince words.
Tumblr media
Seeing a multicultural effort to equitably transform the U.S. “moved many of our white brothers and sisters to make some of these changes with the elimination of diversity, equity and inclusion because now, who America really was and is was presented to them on live TV, so they couldn’t turn away from that,” Sen. Jones said.
Florida State Sen. Shevrin Jones is “Emotionally drained”
Florida has become center stage for Republican efforts to rollback voting rights, weaken, Black political representation and deny students from Kindergarten to college access to an authentic understanding of the role systemic racism plays in our nation’s history and present.
On top of targeting Black Floridians, Republican presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis and his supporters have targeted immigrant communities and continues to place ever-more stringent rules on trans Floridians seeking gender-affirming care.
“Anyone would feel drained when they feel that they are in constant defending of their existence,” state Sen. Jones told The Black Wall Street Times.
“Trying to fight as a Black man against the injustices in this country and state, then you have to convince people, ‘no I’m not a groomer I’m actually a human being’.”
“Parental rights cloaked in bigotry”
Like DeSantis, other Republican leaders have hid behind the banner of “parental rights” to pass legislation that many deem anti-Black.
In defending his stance against certain books and DEI initiatives, Oklahoma Republican State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters has repeatedly claimed the actions were needed to protect parental rights. He’s even brought conservative activists from Moms for Liberty to stand behind him during state school board meetings as proof of support for his planned policies.
Tumblr media
Ultimately, instead of controlling what and how students learn, Sen. Jones would like to see the party of “limited government” focus on moving people forward and elevating communities.
“What government was created to do. It was created to help people. It wasn’t created to put more distress in communities. That’s authoritarianism. That’s fascism,” he said.
“You belong here”
In recent years, the suicide rates for Black men and teens has increased, while the Trevor Project notes legislation targeting LGBTQ+ individuals also raises the risk of suicide attempts.
Despite the constant attacks, such as hate crimes inspired by right-wing rhetoric, state Sen. Jones wants young Black people and young queer people to know they belong.
“You belong here. You’re supposed to be here, and you matter.” He also hopes his message will inspire more young Black and queer people to seek political office.
“There’s a seat at the table that’s waiting for you. When you get it, don’t waste it.”

Thread for Flicker & Timeout by @ninjakarkki (originally posted on Discord, copied here for easier access to past messages)
Flicker — 07/29/2021 8:29 AM
Flicker slowed his steps and glanced up for a moment. Although the trees around him hid most of the night sky, he was able to see a few twinkling stars peeking from between the branches. He reminded himself he shouldn’t linger for too long and picked up his pace again.
The young bot had been out with the rest of the team when they’d seen a particularly big and bright shooting star. It wouldn’t have been so strange if it hadn’t seemed to land somewhere into the forests of Griffin Rock and knowing that it was their responsibility to keep the island safe, they had to check it out. They’d reached the edge of the forest and after some consideration, everyone had gone in different direction for better coverage.
Flicker realized it was getting harder to see the forest floor and he turned his head light on. He was expecting to hear a message through the comm system at any minute now – they probably wouldn’t continue their search for long when it was getting darker so quickly, and he was expecting Heatwave to call it quits. His focus wavered and he failed to spot a root of tree peeking through the ground. His foot caught on the root, and he let out a cry as he stumbled forward. There was a downhill right before him and he tried to grab onto the ground in attempt to stop himself, but he only tore off some moss before he rolled down the slope.
Fortunately, the hill wasn’t very steep, and Flicker stopped rather quickly, but it was enough to throw him off. He got on his feet, his movements slightly wobbly, and began to wipe his plating to get rid of dirt and make sure he hadn’t gotten injured. He looked around and froze, his servos mid-air. He heard vaguely someone asking him through the comm system why he’d screamed and if he was okay, but he didn’t respond. There was a few broken trees and a fresh gaping ditch on the ground. At the end of the ditch, behind a few trees that had remained intact, there was something laying on the ground… something big and metallic. Flicker took a few steps towards it and reached for his comm system with a shaky servo.
“E-everyone? I… I-I think I found it.”
Timeout — 07/29/2021 10:05 AM
"Affirmative, please approach it carefully. and let us know where you are" Came Chase's respond first, as per usual.
"And are you alright Flicker? You sound shaken up? Was it not an asteroid?" Another bot spoke up, this time being Boulder who sounded somewhat worried.
Blades was up in the sky for better view, mostly per Heatwave's order. As the comm came through that Flicker had seemingly found the fallen asteroid, Blades happened to spot it as well and flied over, shining his light over it. "Guys, it's not an asteroid, it's a small ship.."
Flicker — 07/29/2021 12:30 PM
It took Flicker a while to be able to answer. Hearing others' voices and Blades' rotors above reminded him that he wasn't alone and it helped him to calm down a little.
"Y-yeah", he responded slowly to the comm system, not taking his optics off from the metallic surface peeking from behind the trees. "I'm okay, I... I just stumbled a bit. You'll find your way here if you follow Blades." A pause. "Be careful on the slope."
Flicker turned his headlight off as he saw no need to keep it on anymore, now that Blades was illuminating the site. He began to approach the ship slowly and carefully, watching for any signs of life. "I don't see anyone", he informed to others. Yet, he added to himself silently. Surely a ship like this couldn't have crashed without someone controlling it? Flicker was sure someone was inside - he wasn't so sure if they were friendly or not. But they might need help, Flicker thought. We can't leave without knowing what happened.
Flicker stopped a few meters away from the ship, next to its side. "Hello?" He tried to ignore the hint of fear in his own voice. "Is anyone there?"
Timeout — 07/29/2021 2:23 PM
"The ship might be unstable! Be careful Flicker!" Blades said with worry as he was slowly circling in the air to get a better look around the ship. There wasn't any answer from the inside of the ship to Flicker's question.
It didn't take long before rest of the team got over as well. "That's cybertronian ship!" Boulder immediately took a note as he started to scan it, first and foremost to make sure it was safe to approach and to get its data. "It's safe to approach, no possibly of fuel tank or engines exploding"
"Cybertronian? I wonder if there's someone inside" Chase pondered as he had gotten over to Flicker to look at the ship as well, and to see where the entering place was. "Of course there's someone inside, what kind of a ship lands like this without a pilot" Heatwave said as a matter of fact.
Flicker — 07/29/2021 3:16 PM
Blades' warning made Flicker flinch as if he'd touched something hot and he took a few quick steps back. He was getting more and more worried when there was no response from within the ship.
Others arrived quickly and Flicker glanced at them - his optics lingered on Chase, as if looking for reassurance - before turning his attention to the ship again. Although Boulder assured it would be safe to approach, Flicker didn't return to the ship, but instead waited for the older and more experienced bots to decide what to do next. He listened to others' exchange and chimed in after Heatwave: "I thought so too."
He gave others a worried look. "I called out, but no-one has answered. If someone's there, they might be badly hurt... We have to help them!"
Timeout — 07/29/2021 3:38 PM
"Great thinking Flicker" Chase said and looked at the young autobot, giving him a small pat before spotting the entrance to the ship "The entrance is here, however it would seem it is stuck close, I will need help getting in"
"On it!" Boulder chimed and got over with Heatwave. With first some trouble, they managed to force the door open, smoke getting to escape from the inside. Chase shined a light inside and scanned the ship before the light hit a white and blue figure laying on the floor. "Ah, there!"
"They're not moving, either unconscious, or worse.." Heatwave muttered under his breath and quickly got in to get over to the mech. "Boulder, stay outside with Flicker, we will bring the mech out" Chase said and quickly followed Heatwave inside. Boulder nodded and took couple steps away from the door and over to Flicker.
Flicker — 07/29/2021 4:19 PM
Although brief, Flicker appreciated the little pat Chase gave him. He followed the bigger bot's gaze to what appeared to be entrance, and he took a step back to leave room for Boulder and Heatwave. He would've admire their strength to pull the stuck doors open if he hadn't been so worried about whoever was onboard.
Flicker barely managed to remain where he was when others went in, and he tried to catch a glimpse of what was going on inside from where he stood. Apparently there was at least one bot, a mech, and Flicker could feel his worry deepen when Chase said they'd bring him outside. That means he can't walk by himself. Flicker hoped the situation wasn't as bad as he feared, although the ship's condition was speaking for itself.
Timeout — 07/29/2021 4:53 PM
"Blades get down here!" Soon enough Heatwave ordered as he and Chase were coming out of the ship, carrying out what seemed to be an unconscious mech. The mech had Autobot insignia on the bottom of his chest while his arms had heartbeats, easy guessing the mech was an autobot medic most likely. From the order, Blades was quickly down, especially when he saw the autobot.
"There's no visible wounds but he doesn't seem to be responsive"  Heatwave informed and got the mech to lay down on the ground so Blades could take a better checkup to determine how acute the situation could be. "By the looks of it, it seemed like he had gotten out of stasis not too long ago, however we're not certain of it" Chase added on the information he had gathered when inside the ship.
"He seems to be ok! no major wounds, internal nor external, just unconscious but there's quite a dent on his helm which makes me believe he has hit his head in the landing" Blades soon let everyone know, the news making the others relax that it wasn't life or death situation. "We better get him to the bunker, he's fine but needs medical attention" the team's medic added as he finally got up from the ground.
"Got it. Chase, Flicker, you get to the firehouse and be ready to help Blades get this bot get inside, me and Boulder will help Blades to get him over there by the sky." Heatwave ordered.
Flicker — 07/29/2021 5:26 PM
While the mech was being carried outside and examined, Flicker paced anxiously back and forth with his servos clung together, trying to stay out of others' way but also trying to see constantly what was going on. He didn't like how helpless and useless he felt, but it was definitely not his biggest concern that moment.
Flicker finally stopped when Blades gave the good news, barely realizing he relaxed his shoulder joints after tensing them the whole time. He gave a brisk nod as Heatwave gave his commands and while others were preparing to carry the mech by air, Flicker and Chase began their walk back through the forest to the road. There they would be able to transform and travel faster.
As Flicker followed Chase up the hill, he turned his headlight back on. He hadn't realized before how dark it'd gotten. He remained quiet for a while, and only their footsteps on the forest floor sounded in the night.
Finally Flicker spoke in a quiet, nervous voice.
"Is he going to be okay?"
Timeout — 07/29/2021 5:46 PM
"Affirmative" Chase nodded to the order they received and headed out with Flicker, also getting his own light on as they walked to see where they were going. As Flicker eventually spoke, Chase turned to look at him with a reassuring look "Most certainly, it might have looked more dramatic than the situation was, but I can say with high confidence that he should regain consciousness within next 24 hours" he said with a gentle tone, wanting to ease up Flicker's clear worry for the autobot stranger.
"If my assumption is correct from his frame, he appears to be a medic and those bots are resilient, as you might already have seen from our Blades. So do not worry I am most certain that bot is going to be alright" he added as well with a small smile.
Flicker — 07/29/2021 7:10 PM
Although it wasn't enough to make his worries vanish completely, Flicker was visibly more relieved upon hearing Chase's answer. He met the police bot's small smile with his own, even if uncertainty remained in his optics.
"I can keep an eye on him until he wakes up", he promised. There was rarely a day when no-one had to leave for a rescue, left alone the whole team, and it made sense for Flicker to look after the mech while others might be busy. Besides - Flicker felt a pang of regret that made his expression waver - he wanted to make up for not being really any use back at the crash site.
Timeout — 07/29/2021 9:51 PM
"That would be much appreciated" Chase smiled at Flicker's suggestion and soon enough they got back to the road where they transformed and rolled out to the firehouse.
