i didn’t post about this yesterday because i was too exhausted after the convention, but i actually traded with matt (absolblogspokemon) while i was there, in gen 2! this was my first time trading with someone who isn’t myself in gen 2, and my first time exchanging mail. i’m still super flattered about him mentioning BMF in the mail, that was a surprise for me!

we actually traded on VC, so i just ported my crystal save to 3DS then back to cart.

this is the best quality recording i could muster in the noisy convention hall with my phone but yeah. i hope i can use this girl in a playthrough or something! might trade her to gold or silver to beat the game with.

In the ORAS demo, all pokemon are shiny locked. Except for the middle evolution starters, which you can only get on the first adventure. As this was an error, there are no shiny models in the game since you shouldn’t be able to get them. Basically making it possible to get a shiny which sparkles like normal but looks 100% normal. You do not get to keep this shiny

There’s a shiny hunter called AbsolBlogsPokemon who actually soft resets for a shiny marshtomp in this way and then levels it up to level 100, if you want to see it for yourself

I got commissioned to make low quality pokemon art, yes, really.

For those who know AbsolBlogsPokemon on youtube (go check him out, he's a great guy who makes great content), you may have heard of Daglia. Daglia is a VERY poorly drawn shiny Dialga that looks like it was made in MS Paint by someone using a mouse, and that's because it was. I made it.

Daglia became a huge meme on Matts' streams, and the chat seemed to love this stupid Paint drawing I made. So I made more, all of which are over on my Imgur page https://imgur.com/user/kjhc/posts

But never did I expect Matt to reach out to me, asking me to draw one of these.... things for him. I happily obliged since he's my friend, but he did also give me $5 for the 20 minutes I spent making Wigull. So time well spent on my end honestly, and it was really fun. He even said a friend of his might reach out to me about another Pokemon to draw Paint style.

Even after asking him, I still don't fully understand why he chose Wingull of all pokemon. But I still enjoyed it, and that's what this is about.
