Prakhar Agarwal and Tanay Tiwari's IIT Kanpur incubated startup, Macrogardens makes aeroponic towers that let you grow 30 times more vegetables in small balconies.

Delhi’s Abhishek Gupta included a unique aeroponic tower in his kitchen garden that grows 32 plants in an area that previously allowed the growth of only two plants.

“This tower occupies as much space as a person takes while standing. And in this small space, I am growing several plants like ladyfingers and lettuce. I harvest lettuce for my salad every single day! Next, I am planning to grow bell peppers,” Abhishek tells The Better India.

“This vertical tower is also low on maintenance. I just have to add nutrients once in 7 to 10 days. I am so happy with this product that I am planning to purchase two more such towers,” adds the software engineer.

To achieve this goal, we are equipping our youth with skills as per the requirement of the industry. For instance, those who use AI models like ChatGPT have lots of drawbacks because there is hallucination, they fabricate facts and gives answers which are difficult to understand, it’s power consuming so not good for energy. So we have to prepare future vision for India. So, whenever there is technological revolution in the world, India should be where US, China or other countries are today. So we have to invest in such technologies for now on. So, we have to think which technologies will make an impact in next five or ten years. We have to build capacity in that from now on. So, the first point is that we should make foundational model but we want that the countries which have made such a model should say that India has made a model and they too will build such a model.   “So, the Conclave in UP is contextual to that because we want the AI to expand everywhere in the country. In education, the Chandigarh University Lucknow has taken an initiative for this and the government has brought digital revolution with UPI which has become an example for the entire world. So likewise, the government can bring AI in its working. We will have to do this because it can be our competitive advantage that we made our processes efficient quickly with the use AI. Today’s youth doesn’t want to take only but also wants to give back to the society. So need the experience for that. It’s called diffusion in policy language. How fast can this AI diffusion in our society that start-ups start make use of AI, it gets started to be used in education and by the government also. So likewise, the government can bring AI in its working. We will have to do this because it can be our competitive advantage that we made our processes efficient quickly with the use AI. Today’s youth doesn’t want to take only but also wants to give back to the society. So need the experience for that. It’s called diffusion in policy language. 5th Kalinga Global Film Festival Inaugurated at KIIT University

The 5th Kalinga Global Film Festival (KGFF) commenced on 13th December, 2024 at KIIT-DU, bringing together an impressive array of filmmakers, producers, and cine lovers from across the country. The three-day extravaganza will showcase 45 films, including feature films, short fiction, documentaries, and student projects, across multiple venues on the sprawling KIIT campus.

“ Inaugurating the festival, Minister of State (Ind. Charge) for Higher Education, Sports & Youth Services, Odia Language Literature & Culture, Govt. of Odisha Suryabanshi Suraj said the annual event has inspired Odisha’s cinema and artistic community. “Cinema has a significant impact on our society.
