Sandeep Marwah Chaired Global Seas Board Meeting
Dehradun: “At home-based education, curriculum can be tailored according to the child’s needs, capabilities and personality. The areas where the child excels can be expedited whereas weaker areas can be addressed with more focus and additional resources. This also makes learning enjoyable and exciting for the child with customized learning material and courses,” said Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios while Chairing the board meeting of Seas Global Institute Dehradun.

We as parents and teachers need to have that patience and tolerance to bring that hidden talent out and make them excel in this wonderful world, and they should be taught in a manner that will help them to engage, innovate, experience, learn and grow,” expressed Reena Prakash Tyagi the founder and Chairperson of Seas Global Institute.

Graduates in India – only 1 in 10 skilled for future employability prospects
Entrepreneurship should start from schools
In USA / UK students have to procure own money personally by doing odd jobs
Lot of ‘jugad’ mindset at school / college level
Challenge – education system to improve both in infrastructure & techniques / methods
Society opposed to things kids make in school
Change education from memorise to make
Allow experimentation in schools / colleges
Change mindset – avoid failure at all costs
Case study based on learning courses in entrepreneurship with minor degree
PANEL DISCUSSION NO. 2
Local supply chains for biodegradable products
Challenges faced in setting up startups
Organic products – prices expensive so challenges in mitigating price
Lots of permissions required to start up from various regulatory authorities
Probability of business failure in India is less due to large market & pivoting
Encourage final year college students to convert their college projects into something
Investors – no charity work, funding possible only if business is scalable or good returns
Advantage India – low production cost & low logistics cost, cheap labour input
Minimum government interference – regulatory approvals take up time
Technology in agriculture – smart farms, automated irrigation, weather forecasting etc.
Technology – software, automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning
PANEL DISCUSSION NO. 3
Sustainability fundamental criterion
Any business model – goal to make money
Investors focus on economics – how much money can be made in the shortest time
Business model can be made replicable given similar demographics or features
Cash flows generate business – customers need to be given top priority in business
Focus on the idea / vision including the scalability & viability
Technology comes later on – what type of platform to use comes later on
Business models need to be authentic – not just copied for the sake of doing it
Dr. Milind Atrey stressed on the three qualities every entrepreneur should have which are as follows :- (a) Perseverance (b) Focus & (c) Discipline.

DAY 3519
Jalsa, Mumbai Nov 12, 2017 Sun 11:31 PM
Marriages are such a wonderful event in the family .. the rituals the festive occasion the relatives not seen in ages the happiness and smiles of all the songs of old and of tradition the feats and laughter the teasings and game plays with the bride and the groom .. endless ..
And then suddenly it all comes to an end ..
The festivities start days before and each moment is filled with the joys and laughter of all .. the welcome atmosphere .. the music and the dance .. the chatter and the fun ., the special eats and the traditional rituals .. each member of the elders having their say in how the ceremony needs to be conducted .. and the special clothes of tradition to be worn on each occasion .. and at the end of it all .. tired and sore throats and great togetherness ..
The Father of the bride gives away his daughter to her new home .. the joy of giving .. the blessing of those that receive her .. and the additions to the family .. welcomed with tradition folk songs and gaiety ..
And the happiness is reflected in the well wishers that come to the gates of Jalsa .. and the ever present Ef and their efforts on the art work .. the mass of fans and mobile picture selfies that abound .. life has become so rapid snd documented ..
Dear Lord .. thank you for the blessings and the love you give me .. without your keen care all this would never have realised ..

Architecture students design affordable housing for Grampian residents
Students from Robert Gordon University’s Scott Sutherland School of Architecture have designed a series of small, affordable houses as part of a project with Grampian Housing Association.
The students were tasked with creating three types of accommodation to cater for a single person, a couple and a small family, with sustainability and the most efficient use of energy at the core of the design.
Among the key features of the ‘Tiny Houses’, was the ability for self-assembly, to help reduce construction costs, and clever storage, to maximise space in the accommodation.
The designs will now form part of a competition, where the public can vote for their favourite projects, with the winners being decided by members of Grampian Housing Association and the academic team at Scott Sutherland School.
Dr Amar Bennadji, lecture in Architecture at RGU, commented: “A tiny house movement is spreading worldwide to achieve a decent living space without the financial burden, and we felt this was an ideal opportunity for our students to work on a live project which could have positive implications for the local community.
“It has been great to work alongside Grampian housing Association on the project. This experience of designing an affordable dwelling could be a long-time solution to provide shelter and preserve people’s dignity by offering them just what they need.”
Neil Clapperton, chief executive of Grampian Housing Association said: “The project is completely aligned to our objectives of providing affordable sustainable homes to meet people’s housing needs.
“It is an enlightening experience being involved in the project and the high quality of work of the students is to be commended.”
Board Chairman of Grampian Housing Association and RGU lecturer, Abhishek Agarwal, added: “Through this project we are hoping that we are able to support our communities by driving the agenda for affordable, innovative and sustainable homes, but at the same time offering support for skills development in the built environment.”
You can view and vote for each of the student designs by visiting ththe site. All of the projects will be exhibited in a virtual exhibition later in the year.
