The air is not a random bunch of gases simply drawn to earth by the earth's gravity, but an elixir generated by the soils, the oceans, and the numberless organisms that inhabit this world, each creature exchanging certain ingredients for others as it inhales and exhales, drinking the sunlight with our leaves or filtering the water with our gills, all of us contributing to the composition of this phantasmagoric brew, circulating it steadily between us and nourishing ourselves on its magic, generating ourselves from its substance. It is as endemic to the earth as the sandstone beneath my boots. Perhaps we should add the letter i to our planet's name, and call it "Eairth," in order to remind ourselves that the "air" is entirely a part of the earth, and the i, the I or self, is wholly immersed in that fluid element.

37 years ago today Nathan Wesninski thought he was holding in his hands the heir of his criminal empire.
He was so proud that his wife could produce him a son, a man, he saw the baby's blue eyes and the fuss of aubrum hair and the posibility to create a new and even better version of himself crossed his mind.
It was the first and only time Nathaniel Wesninski would feel the soft touch of his father, see the tears of joy in his eyes and smile at him. But of course, he would never remember it.
As he died on the floor of that dirty basement, looking at the bastard that could have been a boss, it was all that Nathan thought about.

The Tower of Babel
1 And the whole earth is of one language, and of the same words, 2 and it comes to pass, in their journeying from the east, that they find a valley in the land of Shinar and dwell there; 3 and they each say to his neighbor, “Give help, let us make bricks, and burn [them] thoroughly”: and the brick is to them for stone, and the bitumen has been to them for mortar. 4 And they say, “Give help, let us build for ourselves a city and tower with its head in the heavens, and make for ourselves a name, lest we be scattered over the face of all the earth.” 5 And YHWH comes down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men have built; 6 and YHWH says, “Behold, the people [is] one, and one language [is] to them all, and this it has dreamed of doing; and now, nothing is restrained from them of that which they have purposed to do. 7 Give help, let us go down there and confuse their language, so that a man will not understand the language of his companion.” 8 And YHWH scatters them from there over the face of all the earth, and they cease to build the city; 9 therefore [one] has called its name Babel, for there YHWH has confused the language of all the earth, and from there YHWH has scattered them over the face of all the earth.
10 These [are] the generations of Shem: Shem [is] a son of one hundred years, and begets Arphaxad two years after the flood. 11 And Shem lives after his begetting Arphaxad five hundred years, and begets sons and daughters.
12 And Arphaxad has lived thirty-five years [[or one hundred and thirty-five years]], and begets Salah. 13 And Arphaxad lives after his begetting Salah four hundred and three years [[or four hundred and thirty years]], and begets sons and daughters.
14 And Salah has lived thirty years [[or one hundred and thirty years]], and begets Eber. 15 And Salah lives after his begetting Eber four hundred and three years [[or three hundred and thirty years]], and begets sons and daughters.
16 And Eber lives thirty-four years [[or one hundred and thirty-four years]], and begets Peleg. 17 And Eber lives after his begetting Peleg four hundred and thirty years [[or three hundred and seventy years]], and begets sons and daughters.
18 And Peleg lives thirty years [[or one hundred and thirty years]], and begets Reu. 19 And Peleg lives after his begetting Reu two hundred and nine years, and begets sons and daughters.
20 And Reu lives thirty-two years [[or one hundred and thirty-two years]], and begets Serug. 21 And Reu lives after his begetting Serug two hundred and seven years, and begets sons and daughters.
22 And Serug lives thirty years [[or one hundred and thirty years]], and begets Nahor. 23 And Serug lives after his begetting Nahor two hundred years, and begets sons and daughters.
24 And Nahor lives twenty-nine years [[or seventy-nine years]], and begets Terah. 25 And Nahor lives after his begetting Terah one hundred and nineteen years [[or one hundred and twenty-nine years]], and begets sons and daughters.
26 And Terah lives seventy years, and begets Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
27 And these [are] the generations of Terah: Terah has begotten Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran has begotten Lot; 28 and Haran dies in the presence of Terah his father, in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees. 29 And Abram and Nahor take to themselves wives; the name of Abram’s wife [is] Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife [is] Milcah, daughter of Haran, father of Milcah, and father of Iscah. 30 And Sarai is barren—she has no child.
31 And Terah takes his son Abram, and Lot, son of Haran, his son’s son, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, wife of his son Abram, and they go out with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go toward the land of Canaan; and they come to Haran, and dwell there. 32 And the days of Terah are two hundred and five years, and Terah dies in Haran. — Genesis 11 | Literal Standard Version (LSV) The Literal Standard Version Bible Copyright © 2020 by Covenant Press. After Alden's death, Benjamin had decided to move back to Windenburg to the family manor.
Because in the meantime, Edward also became the father of a son. His mother Emberlyn unfortunately died in childbirth. Edward was completely overwhelmed with his studies and baby Abram.
When he arrived, he saw Jonathan Freyes approaching the property. The vampire certainly had nothing good in mind.
Benjamin roared, "Get out of here, you bastard." Without wasting any more time, he cast a spell.
The vampire didn't know what was happening to him. Lightning danced across his body.
Less than a second later, the intruder had disappeared.
*******
A few hours later ...
Edward was glad that his grandfather was living with him again. Since he had to go to university, he could confidently leave Abram with Benjamin.
The fact that a vampire had tried to enter the house made him panic. So Edward knew he had to do something.
He was the heir to the Viscount title, he had to be able to protect his family. He could not rely on Aunt Clementine every time in danger. Therefore, he decided to strengthen his magic.
After his university course, he teleported into the realm of magic.
He met with the three sages of magic and was surprised to meet John Black. He was not aware that he was the reigning sage of mischievous magic.
John Black: "Edward Gothington."
Edward nodded to him in greeting.
John Black: "What gives us the honor?"
Edward: "I want to learn and I ask that you train me."
Christina Lee: "Another Gothington who strives for higher things."
Edward: "Certainly not. I just want to be able to protect my family. The vampires are becoming more and more aggressive."
John Black: "Wasn't your son's mother Emberlyn Vatore? The daughter of the traitor Morgyn Ember and the vampire Caleb Vatore."
They knew about Abram and his brief relationship with Emberlyn. Of course, the three were the most powerful mages in society. The wise men, they had to know everything. "Yes, but Emberlyn was a magician and and not responsible for the actions of their parents. My son is also a magician. Not a vampire. And that's exactly why we are at risk. Therefore, I ask for your help. Train me in magic."
*******
In the meantime in Windenburg.
Benjamin and Abram enjoyed the time together.

Only by welcoming uncertainty from the get-go can we acclimate ourselves to the shattering wonder that enfolds us. This animal body, for all its susceptibility and vertigo, remains the primary instrument of all our knowing, as the capricious earth remains our primary cosmos.

Some random student: Hey, you are from the exy team, right? Do you know Neil?
Andrew with his usual blank stare: No.
*Neil walks out the school' bathroom a few seconds later and takes Andrew's hand*
