andrew's first pro game in the city aaron lives. he doesn't send tickets or ask aaron to come and he doesn't even tell aaron his team is coming to town. if aaron wants to come he will. andrew can't make him do anything.

between quarters, the jumbo tron is showing a "look-a-like" game on the screen where the camera operators find people in the crowd who look like different celebrities or animated characters. andrew's not paying any attention to it when the crowd goes wild. a teammate nudges him to look up and lo and behold, wearing a Minyard jersey is andrew minyard's look-a-like, aaron minyard himself.

he rolls his eyes when the camera focuses back on him for the side-by-side shot and but aaron can see that andrew is actually very pleased.

headcanon that many years post canon, when aaron is already a doctor and has like coworkers and stuff, a patient recognizes him (realisticly they would confuse him with andrew but i want it to be a hard core fox fan remembering the good old times), so his work friends google him cause aaron never told them shit and they are like "aaron, wtf, you are Just A Regular Guy™️, what do you mean you have a fucking mURDER CHARGE??"

Wymacks always threatening to sign the Foxes up for marathons as punishment but I personally like to believe he gives them much more unconventional punishments. Ones that he just knows will annoy the Foxes. For example:

He makes Aaron and Neil create an art project together for mouthing off during practice

Like full on paper mache, painting, hot glue, the works

He won’t let them do anything else during practice until the entire team approves of the final piece

It takes them a full week of practices to do it

He makes Kevin and Andrew run the Exy booth at the activities fair

They said it was stupid and complained when Wymack brought it up during a team meeting

So, of course, he makes them run the table by themselves for the entire 6 hour event (scheduled during practice)

And he bought candy for them to hand out but made sure it was only the stuff Andrew hated

And he made Kevin follow up with every single person who signed their little sheet

He has their advisors register the entire team for an acting class

Because if they’re gonna be this damn dramatic about everything they might as put it to good use

He buys a clown costume

And if one of the Foxes gets a yellow card they have to talk to the press after the game in it

Neil is the only exception to this punishment

Instead of speaking directly to the press he gets to put on the costume and stand quietly behind Wymack as he talks to the press

It’d be funny if she was into something completely off the wall, like maybe chucky? baby girl loves it so much that Aaron buys her a chucky doll and she take it everywhere

chucky literally becomes a part of the family. baby girl finds him at spirit halloween one autumn and falls in love immediately. she's grabbing and pulling onto aaron's leg all, "daddy i have to have him🥺🥺🥺🥺 please" aaron's looking at her like, 'are you fr💀'. he quickly finds your eyes, yours widen and you shake your head, basically saying- 'you're dealing with this one have fun'

aaron tries to brush the doll off because one, it's scary. two, it'll be forgotten quickly (plus its expensive) and three, he's sure she's bound to find it scary at home amongst all her other, happy, toys. but he complies, after a small meltdown and because he'll do anything to make his little girl happy 🥺 AND if his suspicions are correct, chucky will just be halloween decor and be put away in november, so it's not a total waste

but no, he's wrong; chucky has a spot at the table, is in the middle seat in the car, baby girl INSISTS he's snug under her arm as she sleeps 😭 and will NOT sleep without him. carries him all over the house and everywhere in between

both you and aaron find it HILARIOUS but also slightly terrifying at the same time 😭 there's the rare instance chucky is on the couch at night, so while doing his rounds before bed, aaron is jumpscared by chucky chilling in the dark 😭 in the car, aaron peers back in the rearview mirror, only to see chucky sandwiched between baby girl and jack just staring at him. just, how can someone so sweet love something so scary 😭 but he loves it because she does 🥹<3

and can you imagine the first bau family get together at rossi's, post-buying chucky. one by one, the hotchners all come in as normal, everyone's saying hello, giving hugs, and then everyone sees chucky cradled in the littlest hotchner's arms, as happy as ever 😭 LMAO

OR when she visits aaron at work 😭 same thing, chucky piques the interest of everyone within the bullpen

the year before neil and andrew are on the same team, neil's team plays in the city where katelyn and aaron live, and they go see neil's game (katelyn insists). they have amazing seats (neil insists). during warm ups, neil saunters over closest to where they're sitting and waves happily at katelyn (who gleefully waves back) before he flips off aaron, and then neil is gone. aaron's med school friends are like wtf.

Aaron may not have an eidetic memory like Andrew does but he has a damn good one and he can remember anything he puts even the smallest amount of effort into remembering.

After everything that happened in Baltimore Aaron starts to note every small possibly important (and unimportant) medical fact about the foxes. And he’s not even totally conscious he’s doing it.

He consciously remembers Andrew and Nicky’s blood types. He knows Nicky’s allergic to penicillin and he knows Andrew doesn’t react well to doctors so it’s best for everyone if he can be administered some kind of sedative right away.

And then he thinks he should probably know this stuff for Kevin, and begrudgingly Neil, because they’re part of his strange little family that Andrew’s created. So he quickly and easily finds this information on them (because he’s a Minyard and he just knows how to find the things he needs to know). So he knows their blood types and he knows Kevin still feels residual pain in his left hand but doesn’t show it and try’s to ignore it. He knows Neil heals annoyingly quick from his all too common injuries but he also knows he aggravates those injuries easily by pushing himself too soon.

But it doesn’t stop there, there’s a small itch in the back of his head driving him to find out the important medical facts about the rest of the foxes. So he allows himself to remember their blood types and allergens and tells himself he needs to know incase of an emergency.

But he also notices that Matt has a high tolerance to pain medication whenever he’s being treated by Abby for an injury during practice or a game. And he notes the one type that works for him and keeps multiple bottles on him and in their room. (It’s also the only type that works for Kevin and works best for Neil so he stocks their room with it too)

And he notices that Allison is a slight germaphobe and applies hand sanitizer anytime she has to touch a public door handle or they go out to eat. So he opens as many doors for her as he can despite the confused look he gives her every time and he just glares right back at her. He keeps an extra mini bottle of hand sanitizer in his backpack for her as well and silently passes it to her when she’s forgotten hers.

He notices Dans chronic knee and lower back pain that Abby is constantly treating and how there’s always a rotating rainbow of colorful KT Tape on her. So he keeps an eye on Abby’s stock of tape and when a color is running low he casually mentions it to her to order more and then walks away.

He notices how Renee always picks at the scabs on her knuckles that result from her sparring with Andrew. He figures the wraps she has are getting old and silently leaves a new pair on the counter the next time he’s in the girls dorm, along with a box of bandaids and a tube of antiseptic ointment. He leaves a matching set of supplies in Andrew’s dorm as well just to be safe.

He doesn’t consciously realize that what he’s doing is protecting and taking care of the Foxes. But the others catch on and smile fondly at him because he’s letting himself care for them and become part of their family.

And the one time Dan mentions what he’s doing for them he looks at her like she’s crazy. He tells himself, and her, that that’s not what he’s doing, he’s just a future doctor and someone needs to take care of these injury prone idiot athletes and no one else besides him and Abby are going to do it right.

Aaron would definitely be so observant and acutely aware of the Foxes physical well beings despite him insisting he doesn’t care and hates them all. But he basically becomes Abby’s right hand man and teams second nurse because it’s good practice for his future and he knows them.

neil never charges his phone, aaron is really good about charging his phone but always forgets it, and jean will not pick up his phone if he feels safe it just doesn't occur to him. ... basically they're unreachable and it stresses all of their partners out bc aaron what do you mean you've been gone since six this morning to go running with neil? jean did you really stay out until 4 am to help aaron study? neil did you get ice cream without me??
