The Minnesota Twins picked up a win last night to start their final home series off on a good note. They looked to keep things going tonight against the Sox at Target Field. The White Sox got the scoring started in the second inning when Gavin Sheets and AJ Pollock singled. Yasmani Grandal singled home a run to put Chicago on the board. Josh Harrison hit a sacrifice fly to left to double the Sox lead. The Twins answered in the bottom of the second with a Jose Miranda single and Gio Urshela lined a double to left. Jake Cave hit a run-scoring single to right to inch the Twins closer. Matt Wallner followed by driving in a pair with a double and the Twins took the lead in a hurry. Minnesota got back to work in the fourth with a Gio Urshela lead-off single. Jake Cave lined a ground-rule double to left-center and Matt Wallner reached on an infield single to plate a run. Ryan Jeffers hit into a double play, but a run scored to put the Twins up 5-2 after four frames. The Sox remained close in the fifth when Josh Harrison led-off with a single to left.
