I’m shocked. SHOCKED.
Russia-leaning Twitter owner Elon Musk is skewing Twitter algorithms to intentionally downrank Ukraine to keep Russia’s invasion and genocide from getting too much attention on the platform.
Twitter user Aakash Gupta (@aakashg0) got together with a group of others to sift through the code for the algorithm and discovered the secrets to boosting your follower numbers on the site – as well as the fact that like topics judged to be “misinformation,” the topic of Ukraine is highly down-ranked.
[ ... ]
Anecdotally, Twitter users who post frequently on Ukraine topics had noticed less engagement with their accounts since Musk took over the platform in October last year. Musk’s own position on support for Ukraine is ambiguous.
[ ... ]
Musk had not commented on the down-ranking of posts about Ukraine by the Twitter algorithm as of the time of publication.
Of course, Musk’s pro-Russia algorithm slant has attracted attention – at Twitter of. Typical response from UK user @LynBank25442089 and others.
Tumblr media
Musk is an oligarch himself and he is probably sympathetic to the plight of Russian oligarchs whose superyachts have been impounded and who have had sanctions slapped on them by pro-democracy countries.
When are some of those thousands of fired tech workers going to finally come up with a viable replacement for Twitter? 🤔

Top 5 moments in the show that I really like
(Not in order)
1) Payal standing up for Khushi
Payal might be the silent girl, the one who stays behind but when it comes to her sister she ain’t taking any bullshit, and she absolutely proved it in this scene. I just Iove how Payal came forward and took a stand for her sister in this scene, it was really applaudable 👏. Payal didn’t care about things going wrong between her and Aakash neither she cared about her obnoxious MIL taunting her later on. When she saw that her sister was being humiliated and her character was being assassinated she knew that it was her responsibility to take stand for her, which she did in a great way. I just love how Gupta sisters constantly looked out for each other both directly and indirectly. How I wish there was a scene where Payal saw Arnav mistreating Khushi and she calls him out Iike “Hey Idc if that’s your wife, before that she’s my sister and you have no right to treat her like that” it would have been amazing!
Tumblr media
2) NK freaks out hearing Arnav and Khushi’s past
I like this moment a lot .I mean cmon Arnav taking advice from NK regarding how to make it up to Khushi on her birthday! That’s something we never thought we’d see now, did we? But what I like even more is how NK basically represents us (fans) in this scene. He’s also in awe of Arnav and Khushi and wants them to have a beautiful relationship, but at the same time he’s also so freaked out hearing about their build up, like we get you NK! We really do.
Also when he says “Iss war ko Kya naam doon?” Ahhh epic 🔥
Tumblr media
3) Anjali disagrees with Shyam
This is something I never expected to see atleast from Anjali’s side given her blind faith and devotion towards her Shyam ji. But when she said “No Shyam ji! My little brothers and Khushi ji’s relationship is not so weak, it’s above this all (the misunderstanding)” that was really impressive. This is the kind of Anjali that we should have seen since the beginning, not the one who nodded her head in yes to everything that Shyam said.
Tumblr media
4) Ooh La La dance sequence
I agree that what Raizadas did was morally wrong as Khushi’s job was already done in the house and Khushi had every right to be mad at them. But you can’t not love this scene, it was really adorable that they tried convincing Khushi in her own style instead of talking to her. Also, Hari Prakash fainting in the background and Arnav dropping his phone was like cherry on top.
Tumblr media
5) Lavanya standing up to ASR
While it’s true that Lavanya also made a mistake here by doing something Arnav clearly told her not to do. Still Lavanya’s anger and frustration can be understood. I think what truly bugged Lavanya was the fact that Arnav was in a relationship with her, kept her in his house but still he had no intention to give any direction to their relationship. For him being in a relationship was like a time pass, but for her she want it to mean something. I think it was great when Lavanya expressed how clueless he makes her feel in the relationship due to his lack of enthusiasm. She was boldly and directly communicating her needs with him, love her for that 👏.

#Ipkknd: Arshi and the shared trauma
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Something that all Ipk fans/viewers can agree upon is the fact that both even though Arnav and Khushi had a very different life and they both have very different personalities the one thing they have in common is their trauma.
Both of them had to endure the same kind of trauma at young age of loosing their parents. However, despite of sharing the similar kind of trauma it shaped their personality in a very different way which makes them so different from one another.
Arnav Singh Raizada
If I have to be honest with my opinion I don’t think that Sheesh Mahal incident completely changed Arnav or made him a different person. I like to believe that Arnav was always less socially active and shy since he was a kid. Anjali evens tells Khushi during one of the episode that how even during his childhood Arnav didn’t like when someone showed him too much of love or affection, when we get flashback from Arnav’s childhood we can see that he is quite young so during then his mother was still alive.
Arnav not being open to affection maybe due to his father, his father himself never really cared about the affection other people showed him or never really showed any affection to his wife, which Arnav always saw in front of his eyes. Maybe, his mom tried to cover things up by showering tons of love on him and Anjali but Arnav must always have been a silent kid so even beside the curtain of love that his mom put on he could still see the truth.
Arnav was obviously devastated after his parents death, specially his mother’s death. But, what I like to believe made him to be rude, cold and arrogant was because of how his uncle behaved towards him and his Di. His Uncle who was his family was supposed to console him and give him the strength to resilience during his tough time but instead he throwed them out of the house so that he could have the Malik property and house to himself and his family.
Arnav who was just 14 during then and had recently lost his mom when he saw all this he said obviously started believing that out of everything money, wealth and power are the most important thing in life. That’s why probably from a young age Arnav was adamant about becoming successful
I don’t think Arnav struggled financially as a kid because obviously he and Anjali were taken in by Raizadas. And as Arnav mentioned in one episode that he attended Harvard so if Raizadas weren’t rich they wouldn’t have sent Arnav to study in Harvard.
But then again Arnav himself says during initial episode that how Manorama had to break her FD when he was establishing AR. This may sound a little illogical but I think the ancestral property that Raizadas had wasn’t really much and that too was spent on studies of Anjali,Arnav and Aakash.
I am sure Nani offered the little money they had to Arnav to start his business, but Arnav knew that if he wanted people to fear him and respect him, the money that comes to him must be earned by his hard work. His ancestral money wouldn’t have been able to do so.
So yeah, saying Arnav did struggle for success won’t be wrong
Khushi Kumari Gupta
Unlike Arnav she was quite young when her parents passed away maybe that’s why we never saw any of her flashbacks from her childhood cause she was too young.
Even though Khushi was taken in by Guptas after her parents died there’s a high possibility that not everything went smoothly. As she was just a child she most likely moved on and started living like a normal, happy child but there would always be that one person who would remind her that she doesn’t belong to them and they just did her a favour.
That person in Khushi’s life was obviously bua ji. Garima and Shashi always loved Khushi and considered her as their daughter. But it’s a high chance that bua ji didn’t like Khushi since the beginning (which can be seen in the initial episodes as well).
Whenever Khushi was little more happy or did something mischievous bua ji would always be there to remind her that how she is adopted and they did her a favour by taking her in. Those constant reminders stuck in Khushi’s head which lead her into believing that since Guptas did her a huge favour she must do everything they ask her to do even if she doesn’t want to do it.
Just like how she didn’t want to marry Shyam, maybe there were other things that she didn’t want to do but still did only because Guptas asked her to do it.
Khushi’s people pleasing behaviour has always been backfired at her instead. For instance, when she tried talking to Anjali about how she could think about her child and take care for herself or when she tried to convince Akash about how he should try to make things better between him and Payal. In both of the cases it backfired on her
So! We can see that even though Arnav and Khushi shared similar kind of trauma, it had different effect on them and it shaped the ultimate quality of their personality, because they had different situations
Arnav had no one around him when the tragedy struck, people turned their back on him. He earned everything he had on his own. Arnav Singh Raizada didn’t even care if his words or action hurt someone let alone him trying to make anyone happy wasn’t even in his bingo card ever. All he ever cared about was earning power and wealth which he did, he always knew that he didn’t owe anyone anything
Whereas Khushi did have people around her who rescued her and Ofcourse she was loved by them. But the constant reminder from those people to her about how they saved her from time and again ruined things for her, making her to be an ultimate people pleaser

These are moments or you can say the shots from the show where I found Arnav very handsome, cute, hot, irresistible etc...
Although whever he comes on the screen I just can't put my eyes off him, I don't even blink my eyes, just want to see him as much as possible.
I have a huge crush on Arnav. Ok let's start.
He came out of the helicopter and while walking into the sheeshmahal. Those aviators looked amazing on him. Literal hero entry boss.
When he removed his blazer in front of Khushi before giving her a dictation in English, in the office.
Teej temple scene when he was mesmerized seeing Khushi in the orange saree .
When he went to the Gupta house for the first time after marriage, his expressions while holding the plant Khushi brought for him...and when she saved him from falling into the rangoli were 😘.
He was exercising in the Laxmi Nagar, poured water on his face, Arnav you know you are hot, we know you are hot then why igniting the fire again and again and again. He was literally irresistible in that shot.
In Khushi's dream, when he was indenting her with 25 thousand rupees. His smile awwwww 😍... This is for the first time I saw that smile and I lost my heart to him again.
Where he overhears the conversation of Bhuaji and Khushi during the first Ritual of their marriage (Shagun). His "Thank you" had multiple meanings...let me explain Thank you for taking my side on the day of our first marriage, because she was slapped by Garima after that. Thank you for loving me the way I am. Thank you for again taking my side and denying the Raksha Dhaaga. Thank you for coming into my life. His eyes are so innocent, they speak a lot.
When he comes to the temple to take the permission of Devi maiyya for their marriage. Again the aviators and that innocent, cute smile.
During his bachelor's night when he said "Tumne Jo meri bachelor party kharab ki hai uska kya.... Saza toh milegi" . Khushi didn't move in the first place, even she was ready for the punishment. Who are we then?
When Arnav lost his voice, when he and Khushi were leaving for the office he called her name in his mute voice and Khushi turned back, his expressions were amazing, Arnav bitwa was shocked, happy, amused and satisfied that his love can feel him.
In Lavanya's day dream where looks old with two new girlfriends. I can imagine Barun if not put on weight will look stunning just as he looks now.
When Khushi was dancing in Payal-Aakash's engagement on the song Salam-e-ishq, Arnav was just looking at Khushi and only Khushi. This is the thing noticed by Lavanya and she got confirmation that Arnav loves Khushi.
When Arnav saw the Photoshoot, he saw Khushi's picture and went speechless. His eyes were filled with attraction he felt for her .
Just after the Honeymoon in the morning when he was looking at his Khushi sleeping besides him on the sofa, I was looking at him as he looked so good in that shot. I am adding some photos for reference. Arnav came in Khushi's dream. Indebting her with 25000 rupees.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arnav overhearing the conversation between Khushi and Bhuaji. During their Shagun ceremony.
Overhearing is a bad habit but you will be forgiven.
Tumblr media
Arnav came to the temple for seeking the blessings of Devi maiyya for their marriage.
Tumblr media
Arnav called Khushi with no volume in his voice but to his surprise Khushi turns back.
Tumblr media
Lavanya's day dream. This is how Arnav will look when he will get old. Not bad (that's why he is having two new girlfriends with him).
Tumblr media
He cannot take his eyes off Khushi and we can't take our eyes off him 🤭😍
Tumblr media
He is speechless and mesmerized seeing the Photoshoot of Khushi.
Tumblr media
Both on the same couch for the first time. I wonder how can someone look innocent, hot, cute and handsome all at the same time? God has taken a lot, a lot of time to make this face . Nazar na Lage. Touch wood.

Teamwork Arts presents Mumbai Preview of Jaipur Literature Festival 2024 at The Quorum, Mumbai
Unveiled key themes and highlight sessions for the upcoming Festival
14th December 2023 – Anticipation is building for the 17th edition of the iconic Jaipur Literature Festival, scheduled to take place from 1st to 5th of February 2024 at Hotel Clarks Amer in the vibrant Pink City of Jaipur. Teamwork Arts, the producer of the iconic Festival, hosted a celebratory evening at The Quorum, Mumbai yesterday and brought together the city’s dignitaries, Festival speakers and audiences. The Festival also announced the official bookstore for the 2024 edition – Crossword Bookstores.
Apart from talking about the much-awaited Festival programme and offerings, the evening featured a dialogue between Amish, bestselling author, diplomat and Director of the Nehru Centre in London, and Sanjoy K. Roy, Festival Producer and Managing Director at Teamwork Arts. They delved into the significant role that myth plays as a mediator of memory. There was also an exciting jazz performance by percussionist Vladimir Taravos and saxophonist Liudas Mockuinas at the event.
William Dalrymple, writer, historian, and Festival Co-director, said, "Every year we try and raise the bar at the Jaipur Literature Festival, but 2024 will be our finest festival yet. It is going to be utterly extraordinary and should on no account be missed!"
Sanjoy K. Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, producer of the Jaipur Literature Festival, said, “At the Jaipur Literature Festival, we inspire people through the power of stories. It is an opportunity to be engage with a cross section of the arts, knowledge and innovation An experience you definitely do not want to miss – a celebration of the joy of literature.”
Aakash Gupta, CEO, Crossword Bookstores, said, “Crossword is very proud to be the bookstore partner at JLF. We are on a mission to grow the readership in India. The Festival is at a pinnacle of celebrating the joy and importance of good books. This partnership between the Festival & Crossword is a perfect match and aligns with our shared visions. Watch out for an exciting bookstore experience at JLF 2024!”
Saloni Puri, Director of Programming at The Quorum, “I am a Jaipur Literature Festival patron from 2006 - since it was founded. Their highly versatile programming has been instrumental in adding to the cultural conversation in the country. Quorum and the Jaipur Literature Festival share a DNA - curiosity and passion for ideas and imagination, thought leadership and conversation. It gives us great pleasure to partner with them for the Mumbai Preview of the 2024 edition.”
The evening also revealed some of the key themes for the 17th edition of the ‘Kumbh’ of literature. Art & culture are key themes and will have interesting sessions such as one exploring the artistic genius of our country’s foremost modern artist, Raja Ravi Varma with Ganesh V. Shivaswamy, two of whose six-volume series, Raja Ravi Varma: An Everlasting Imprint, navigates the life, artistic style, and everlasting impact of Raja Ravi Varma's creative journey. In another session, museum curator, art historian and Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum at the University of Cambridge, Luke Syson, will talk of Leonardo da Vinci's reputation as an inventor and scientist, and the complexity of his creativity and personality that have sometimes almost overshadowed the importance of his aims and techniques as a painter. Syson’s highly acclaimed Leonardo da Vinci – Painter at the Court of Milan exhibit attempts to understand the complex nature of one of the most sought-after artists of the Renaissance period.
The biographies theme includes a session on the book Irrfan: A Life in Movies by film critic and writer Shubhra Gupta. The book is a collection of conversations with the late actor’s contemporaries and their memories of their time with the legend. In conversation with Irrfan Khan’s beloved wife and theatre actor Sutapa Sikdar and filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, the session will dive into the art, craft, and life of Irrfan.
Pulitzer Prize winning writer Kai Bird will speak at another session on his writing life and literary journey. Famously co-authored with the late Martin J. Sherwin, Bird wrote, American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, which acted as the inspiration for the Chirstopher Nolan film, Oppenheimer.
Sharmistha Mukherjee’s remarkable biography Pranab My Father: A Daughter Remembers offers a fascinating glimpse into the illustrious life of Pranab Mukherjee, former politician and the thirteenth President of India. In this session, Sharmistha will talk about her workaholic and devoutly religious Baba who narrated events in the spirit of adda at the dinner-table and who never tried to impose his faith or beliefs on her.
The poet who wins every heart - Gulzar Saab - continues to create magic with each new poetry collection, interweaving the allure of old favourites through verse. Translated by award-winning translator and writer, Rakhshanda Jalil, Baal O-Par is a definitive collection of Gulzar Saab's poetry comprising the complete text of six volumes of poems. Together they will take us through this masterpiece, offering a kaleidoscopic view of history, human experience, and poetic expression.
The Festival will also feature Fashion Designer Tarun Tahiliani. His creations navigate sartorial histories, from the lens of the impact of globalisation and colonisation on attire to the revival of long-forgotten techniques. His book, Journey to India Modern, written with investigative journalist Alia Allana, reveals the paths he takes for his craft, and the significance of his luxury design studio in today's world. In conversation with television anchor and fashion consultant Ambika Anand, Tahiliani will share insights into his explorations in fashion around the globe, his efforts to merge stories across time and space, and the questions he seeks to pose through his designs.
The Festival will also delve into spiritual histories. The sacred terrain of the high Himalaya has a timeless tradition of spiritual and mystic quests. How do enlightened masters become an enduring and living presence for religious and spiritual communities? Celebrated academic and writer Andrew Quintman has written extensively on the Tibetan master and spiritual poet, Milarepa. Actor and writer Kelly Dorji is a practising Buddhist. His book, The Hidden Rainbow, makes an attempt to take us on a spiritual journey through Buddhist symbolism in the quest for inner peace and acceptance. Together, they will discuss the literary representations of Milarepa's life and consider the manifold ways in which these life stories move beyond the written page into artistic, ritual and lived dimensions. This session will also include the launch of the Hindi edition of Mystics and Sceptics: In Search of Himalayan Masters.
Leading classicist and cultural commentator Mary Beard’s recent book, Twelve Caesars: Images of Power from the Ancient World to the Modern, explores how Roman art has shaped the Western world’s understanding of power for over two millennia. Examining the relationship between ancient imperial imagery and the modern visual imagination, Beard will take us through the images of Roman emperors, especially the ‘Twelve Caesars’, from the ruthless Julius Caesar to the fly-torturing Domitian, to understand their modern significance. In conversation with historian, writer and podcaster Tom Holland, she will discuss changing identities, deliberate misidentifications and the often-uncertain representations of authority.
This year too, the Festival offers an exclusive Friend of the Festival (FOF) package which promises an unparalleled experience. FOFs gain access to a private Festival Lounge, where they can unwind and network, occasionally mingling with Festival speakers. The package includes lunches and dinners on Festival days, priority access at select sessions, and entry to the live music performances at the Jaipur Music Stage. In addition, FOFs will be invited to a cultural evening at the majestic Amer Fort as well as an evening of cocktails at the Festival Lounge. They will also get access to the coveted Writers’ Ball that concludes the spectacular literary show.
‘Friend of the Festival’ packages can be booked using this link: https://jaipurliteraturefestival.org/friendsofthefestival-registration.
