On chapter 2, the first chapter doesnt give me excitement to read it, if that makes sense. I wish they wrote more of Hinata's spikes and other skills, and also i want them to be more surprised at Hinata's jump. I forgot to read to word count when i opened it, so now ive gotta finish this one before i can read the others😭 (ITS OVER 300K WORDS LONG DAMN) (Edit 3)

- Chapter 44, im glad kept reading, its pretty good honestly. But it kind of ruined my excitement to read it when they wrote the third years graduating. Im not sure if they'll show the manga timeskip though. (Edit 4)

- Chapter 50, im starting to lose interest again, im hating the fact that theyre describing Atsumu and Hinata better than Hinata and Oikawa. And for some reason, even though the manager has done nothing wrong, i rlly dont like her. Also Hinata is really OP here, i dont mind, infact i actually like it, but i wish they would write it better. (Edit 5)

- Chapter 52, im starting to dislike the fic the more it goes on. (Edit 6)

- Chapter 56, i thought i was starting to like it again, but i was wrong. (Edit 7)

- Chapter 62, i was genuinely starting to enjoy it again, but now im thinking of avandoning this fic. If im being honest, i dont like how its written. The only reason i continued it was for the plot. (Edit 8)

- Chapter 67, i think i'll ditch this fic, but im not completely sure. It's an okay fic, but im not really interested in it. However, im curious to see where the plot will go so i might finish it, its a small chance tho. (Edit 9)

- Chapter 1, Yeah no, it barely started and it already fast forwarded to a few weeks later. And this one, just like the others didnt add an their reactions to Hinata jumping high. I want them to be shocked, i mean you saw how everyones reaction was in canon when they saw Shoyo jump. He surprised everyone with his jump, stamina, and his fast reflexes. Oh and, when i say he surprised everyone, i mean it:

Kageyama, he was clearly impressed, even an idiot could see how impressed he was. Esp hen he said: "Where have you been these past three years?!"

Tsukishima, he was surprised too, he even said, "When i first saw your jump, it surprised me." Or somthing along the lines

Daichi, you can tell he was impressed by Hinata's skills as a player. And when Kagehina managed to hit their first quick you can tell by the look on his face he was surprised.

Ukai, Takeda, and the "Towns Team" or smth, i forgot. They were also surprised.

Oikawa, did you see the look om his face when Hinata spiked the ball at him during their first practice match?

Kenma, the white background and slow motion when Hinata first spiked his first quick, if you say he wasnt surprised then you clearly didnt watch haikyuu.

As an aside... The world has changed drastically and it will never be the same. Production rollouts and errors are going to be many and the biggest groups that need protecyion are the workers, not rushing product out. I hope fandoms understand that the world is crumbling and capitalism is not sustainable. This isnt working. The only way out is eradication and i hope when people continue to engage w this media particularly with BL they truly remember that. It seems tangential but it isnt, it’s important, and this is inside that part in time. It is important so we support our ppl around the world and this means caring about the material conditions of the oppressed, meaning taiwanese ppl as we watch this and the realities of gender, sexual, and ethnic minorities there. They arent magically cured from the pitfalls of society with this portrayal. People are fighting tooth and nail, especially artists in this climate, please remember this is not a reflection of a world that is perfect. This was a good example of an escapist show that factored in the real world and not to its detriment but it still is escapism. Lets champion this beinn on a major network but realizing this genre and media clashes with liberation we seek in a complex way. Thats ok. I just think it’s important to remember that now more than ever. We cant stop interrogating and fighting and making ever.

Im glad ppl put work into this show and avoided the usual pitfalls with patriarchal nonsense with rape culture so it IS true escapism while grounded in reality. I hope they can develop more and also i hope the editor of this show and other heads of department understand what the transition button in their editing program is for for sound. :)

Yes, you can read the fic if you don’t know the show. I have tried to write it in a way that enables everyone to read it, whether they know it or not. I have also changed some stuff, so even peope who know the show might not know what exactly will happen. :)

As for your second question: I certainly did not expect to be flooded with kudos and comments. I never do, tbh, but AUs can be especially iffy. People might love them or they might not or something in-between. I am aware that the story is probably a bit niche. :D Sometimes, it also takes a couple of chapters before a story gains traction. What I can tell you at this point is that I don’t have any plans to abandon it. The first part is finished in any case and will be posted. Since I did not expect many readers in any case, I am happy if there are only a few people who enjoy it and want to read more.

(Ironically, given what Morning Meteora 1.0 covered (and was named for), they (particularly the more idolcore-leaning acts) actually closer to M3’s roots….)

...it is finally time for me to unveil the event for Q3, Magic Metal Meteora (or “Magic Me†al Me†eora” as it’s written on the promo material).

I’ve had this idea as early as February as a way to celebrate the kawaii metal/idolcore/alt-idol/etc scene. If you need a primer on it, here’s one from Land of the Rising Sound.

Fittingly enough, given what M3 was originally about (and the climate that spawned it), I’m shocked I didn’t cover these kinds of idols before.

However, what ultimately sparked it was the tragic passing of Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington (which is why this is being announced today, the one-year anniversary of his death). Sure, I dedicated a ANGERME de la mort review to him, but there was a part of me that felt it wasn’t simply enough, a part that needed something resembling closure.

As a way of honoring the way he lived (lightening people’s hearts and minds with the power of music), what better way to do so than by celebrating those who shared his passion for music and rocking out, even if it’s in frilly outfits?

(It was either this or reviewing Linkin Park. A friend convinced me to go down this route as it would be more in line with the blog’s normal topics.)

So... 

Early on, it was decided that August would be the month to cover them as...

It’s the nearest full month to the date

August is already a peak month for the blog (going by average stats)

It’s the month one group in particular debuted (more on that later)

It’s my birthday month (which falls a day after a post date) and I wanted to do something fun around then

Afterwards came the equally important process of finding acts to cover. I spent a few months researching possible topics, choosing them by basis of their significance to the genre (which will be covered in the first two weeks) and how much they interest me (which takes up the later two weeks).

As a result, here’s the “booking” for Magic Metal Meteora as of this writing:

On the bright side, the posts all link to each other rather smoothly: the first two weeks with the “godmothers” and the next two featuring two groups with a somewhat shared history (which I’ll get into when we get there).

If things go well, I may do something like this again. (I really hope I do. I’ve been liking what I’m hearing so far.)
