💬 Alexander's comments to the ATP Tour for its 'Inside The Game' segment on signing autographs:
Question 1: Whom do you prioritise?
Alexander: I try to sign everyone. But sometimes everyone is tough. So I try to sign one each, because some have 10 things that they want to get signed or pictures. You can always obviously prioritise the kids first. On the court, you also can’t get everyone because there are other matches to follow and you have to clear the court.
Seeing the excitement is great, because 20 years ago, I was that kid. When I had a signature from Federer, when I had the signature from Agassi, it was very special to me, so I know how they feel. So I'm trying really to get everyone.
Question 2: Do you have different signatures for different tasks?
Alexander: No, my signature is the same. But it is quite quick because I've done millions of signatures before, so I’m kind of practised well in that.
Question 3: How do you decide what to sign on the camera lens?
Alexander: It depends where you are. It depends what the country's issues are at the moment or what is happening in the world as well. So just a lot of times it has something to do with the place that you're at, but a lot of times it's just a signature.
Question 4: Is there anything you will not sign?
Alexander: Refuse? Not really. There probably is something, but I can't think of anything. It’s actually funny, because when Federer and I played the exhibition tour in South America, we both signed one guy's arm and he came back the next day and had a tattoo. I don't mind that, if you want to do that.

Wimbledon 2024: Italy s Musetti Holds Off Fritz In Five Sets, To Meet Djokovic In Semifinals
Lorenzo Musetti: All eyes in Italy were on Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon but it is Lorenzo Musetti who has kept the country's hopes alive by reaching the semifinals and setting up a clash with 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic, who progressed to the semifinal after Australian Alex de Minaur withdrew due to an injury.Musetti delivered arguably the Grand Slam performance of his career so far on Wednesday to outlast Taylor Fritz 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-2, 3-6. 6-1 in a quarterfinal clash at the grass-court major. In doing so, the 22-year-old became just the fourth Italian men’s singles semifinalist in event history. Even after World No.1 Sinner fell to Daniil Medvedev on Tuesday, Musetti gave an immediate reminder of the strength-in-depth of Italian tennis with a classy and composed display in his maiden major quarterfinal. The 25th seed deployed his slice backhand to great effect to outfox an elite grass-court opponent and set a last-four meeting with Djokovic. The two-time ATP Tour titlist Musetti composed himself superbly in the deciding set after Fritz had snatched the fourth via a break in the eighth game. The Italian raced to a double-break lead with some of his best tennis of the match before sealing a three-hour, 27-minute quarter-final triumph. The foundation of Musetti’s triumph in his debut appearance on the All-England Club’s No. 1 Court was his serve. The No. 25 in the ATP Rankings won 76 per cent (63/83) of points behind his first delivery, and that stability allowed him to express himself freely in return games. Musetti converted six of the 13 break points he earned against one of the biggest servers on the ATP Tour. The penultimate point of the match was a good example of the way Musetti found his magic touch in the final set. He produced a well-disguised drop shot which Fritz chased courageously. The American caught his leg in the court as he tried to slide and the crowd held its breath, but fortunately, he was soon up to face match point. There was nothing the three-time Eastbourne champion Fritz could do to rescue the match situation, however. Musetti served out for a famous victory to join his countrymen Nicola Pietrangeli (1960), Matteo Berrettini (2021), and Sinner (2023) as a Wimbledon semifinalist. Alex de Minaur pulled out from Wimbledon before his quarterfinal clash against Djokovic due to an injury. ✅️ Alexander won his first match at the Australian Open against Koepfer 4-6 6-3 7-6 6-3
It was a tough opening round, with Alexander taking on not only his compatriot, but one who was incredibly aggressive with a big serve. It took him a short while to find his rhythm, but fortunately he raised his level as the match progressed to advance in four sets.
The first set didn't start so well. After both players held their opening games, an unfortunate second service game saw Alexander get broken for 2-1, and Koepfer held for 3-1. Sadly he was unable to break back, and Koepfer served the set out 6-4.
In the second set, after Alexander missed a break point in Koepfer's opening game, both held their first two games. After winning his game for 3-2, Alexander checked his blood sugar, and after which he started playing much better. With phenomenal groundstrokes, he broke Koepfer's serve for 4-2, and held for 5-2. When serving for the set, Alexander had to face three break points, but with two gorgeous backhands and an overhead, he saved the break points and took the set 6-3.
At the start of the all-important third set, two break points came and went in Koepfer's opening game, and both players held serve without much issue for the next few games. On his serve at 4-5, Alexander faced two break points which were also set points, but he incredibly held for 5-5. The set eventually went to a tie-break, in which Alexander obtained a double break and won the tie-break 7-3.
And Alexander carried this momentum superbly into the fourth set. After winning his opening game, Alexander prevailed in Koepfer's long and strenuous opening game to break for 2-0 and held for 3-0. He held this break throughout, going on to serve the match out to seal the victory 4-6 6-3 7-6 6-3.
Though things started a bit shaky for Alexander, fortunately he was able to turn things around and raise his level in the important moments to get the win. Hopefully he can rest well now before his next match, where he will face qualifier Klein. Let's go, Alexander 🔥
