Greatest Weakness of Whumpers:

Felix: Rejection and being alone is Felix's big weakness, and also he has a sore spot about his family and upbringing. If Josh were to bring it up...🫣

Ronan: Greed and impulsiveness..Always with the knee-jerk reactions. He doesn't think things through and just runs with ideas and doesn't consider the consequences or dangers 👀

Izaak: Loss of control and quick to anger (hehee like now ;) ) - he's a control freak. He likes to have control over every minute detail in his life so what he's going through now totally throws him off. (Also, he is really sensitive over his mother who left when he was young)

Vince: His weakness is his reputation. It's everything to him. Everyone knows who he is, what he's capable of - vampires want to be him and humans fear him. If ever that were to be tarnished, he'd fall apart.

Greatest strength of Whumpee's:

Josh: He's a calculated, clever bean - and a fighter through and through. Even when you think he's done for, and completely broken - he's not. He's playing the long game, he's still fighting in his own way.

Declan: His perseverance and bravery. He's been through hell and back, he was living dead - and right now he's scared and confused but deep down he's tryna map out in his head how he navigates and survives this.

Henley: His empathetic and selfless nature. I mean come on, he helps his former kidnapper/master. Hands down, his biggest strength is his kindness. I think its what has got him this far in surviving.

Izaak, what will it take for you to truly break?

Izaak is going to answer this first (and absolutely bullshit his way through it ;) ) and then I'll answer for him because he's too self-preservational to dare admit fault.

[Izaak]:

"You want the truth? I can't think of a single thing that could break me. Nothing comes to mind. Honestly.

People choose to be broken. They let themselves be torn apart. It's when they finally give in and decide enough is enough, that's when they break. Like Henley, he had a bit more fight in him, I could sense it. But he chose to lay down his sword and that was his fatal fault. I just have to choose to keep fighting - and I'll come out on top."

I think Izaak will break when there's no end in sight. There's no light at the end of the tunnel. It's just day after day of pain, degradation - fear. Ronan just needs to keep it up for a good while, no slacking for even a second. Make Izaak scared that this could be his eternity.

In the box, his mouth will be taped shut and the tape will be wrapped around his head again and again. It will get stuck in his curls and it’s going to be so much fun ripping it off

Henley's terrified shriek is lost. He doesn't know if he even mustered any sound at all. Or if he did; can the sound even travel through the layers and layers and layers of winding duct tape strapped to his face? His nostrils flare with each panicked huff of breath...

...so why does it feel like he can't breathe? Henley's lungs burn - he's panting in a desperate bid for air, in between muffled sobs.

But in this damn box - it's like the world is closing in on him. Panic is gripping his every thought

Henley's eyes grow saucer wide with fright, failing miserably at stifling a petrified whimper. He huddles his knees close to his chest.

"D...Deserve? Wha-Wha did I do?!"

i mean... look at how matted and disgusting it's gotten. no wonder he's not cut out to be a whole person, he can't even take care of himself.

i'll be sure to tell him all that, along with how disgusting and worthless he is, while i'm taking care of it for him. he should thank me for wasting my time on a pet like him

Henley does thank you...repeatedly... in between breathless hiccups of choking sobs. He doesn't mean it - the gratitude - he's truly distraught. As he watches locks of his blonde hair fall to the floor, circling around him, feeling the weight on his head lessen.

Will they let him keep anything of his humanity?

Henley doesn't know what he ever did to deserve this. He interlaces his fingers together, squeezing his hands tight until the flesh flashes bright white. If he doesn't; he might disobey and try to pry you off.

Because you're right. You're so right. He's just an insignificant pet. Worthless and disgusting. He can't even take care of himself properly - that's why his hair is so tangled and grim. You're doing him a favour and for that, he should be grateful.

Josh gets married to his best friend, Alec! Who plays a ginormous part in the story, both in and out of captivity🥰 I can't wait to write them!

Izaak, many many many years down the line (after a lotttt of wallowing in regret and shame), ends up with a high school sweetheart he reunites with! Who is pivotal in his growth, and reform.

Henley, he might potentially go to one of my friends OC in a lil collab we're working on, who is another whumpee! Or I can see him adopting a little baby girl with a boyfriend!

And I haven't fully developed this yet, but I know Declan will have a wife! I'm thinking maybe they meet through helping and saving bloodbags, or working to close the rift between vampires and humans. He has to have a kid. Uncle August!!! Imagine!!!

As someone with a head full of curls… I take the duct tape thing personally. My hair’s above my shoulders, but it’s still a chore to maintain. I don’t want to think of how frizzy my hair would get if someone had to pull tape off of it

Oh no, my poor Henley </3

I wrap him up in the biggest hug ever and massage his tense shoulders. "It's okay, you're still gorgeous even without your hair," I whisper in his ear. "Don't worry, your safe with me."

It's not that Henley doesn't want to trust you. He just...can't bring himself to. Honestly? He would love nothing more than to melt into your arms and fall victim to the sweet lull of your words. The promise of safety seems too good to be true.

...which means it probably is.

For now, this is enough. This is everything. He'll take whatever he can get, just to feel close to another person like he might possibly be human too. He clings to you tighter, nuzzles in closer and with a bit of time, his cries quieten to mere snivels.

"T-Thank y-you", he whispers, and part of him hopes you didn't actually hear him.
