It's really hard to make people understand that belgium isn't religious anymore when every village is build around a church, we celebrate Christmas and such and still have baptism and communion

I've seen some interesting discussion lately about normalizing things, and one argument I saw was that "normalizing X is pointless because it is already normalized, you don't need to normalize it". The intent was basically ridiculed and further diminished in the discussion that followed.

And that made me kinda angry even tho I had no horse in the race, and also made me think about why it pissed me off, and what I came up with was:

1) people try to normalize things for different reasons. Your normal might not be their normal, or their group's normal, or the normal in their culture. I will fully say that when I say I'm trying to normalize something, what I often mean is that I'm trying to do that to combat my own biases yk? And that is important work! Nobody should ridicule that just because something is normal to them.

And

2) in terms of art and fiction, something being normal in the real world doesn't mean it's normalized in art, fandom, and mainsteam media, or their subcultures and subsections, and working towards normalizing them there is never pointless.

Basically what I'm saying is, your normal is not everybody else's normal; don't ridicule people for saying they're trying to normalize something, please. They don't need to specify who they are normalizing it for. It's okay not to get it! Maybe in your corner it is normalized and normal and genuinely: good for you! But please be mindful of other people's efforts and work towards making it so in their own corners as well. Saying it's pointless is most likely just going to be harmful.

Comforting the brothers

Lucifer

It was at midnight, and was about to pass out, just the minute he got home from RAD, the house bcame a chaos as his brother atgued with each other about useless things

He noticed how you became aggitate, as you tried to make the brothers back off eachother, holding satan off Mammon and trying to make the Avatar of wrath not break everything in the damn house

He was already tired and overworked, and trusted you enough at this point to stop them before their voices become high pitches and break the windows

He headed for his office and sat down, immediately begging to work on paperwork, as he tiredly just lit the candle, even forgetting to eat something or even drink, making him skip lunch and dinner without him noticing at how fast the clock was ticking

You bacame worry of him, getting out of your room and intot he kitchen, though you must admit, you were tiny bitsy scared of him and his sadistic arua, now preparinf a small dessert for him and his favorite tea, placing it on a fancy tray and you left for his office

You knocked gently on the door. Not expecting an answer, after waiting for a few seconds, you begant o leave, thinking he was busy, but you heart a muffled voice coming from inside the room,

" enter... "

you noticed his raspy voice, now entering his office, gently and quietly stepping inside, before asking

" Lucifer? You skipped lunch and dinner, aren't you hungry? "

You asked ina sweet voice, now walking up to his desk, you were caught off guard by the massive amounts of documents on the wooden desk, as you gently placed the tray down on the small spot that fit the tray, before looking at him, noticing his red eyes focused on writing, and the heavy black eye bags under his eyes, now letting out a sigh, lucifer noticed and looked up at you with a poker face

" I assure you I am fine MC, thank you for asking, and... thank you for the dessert and tea that you have brought, I persume I didn't notice how much time I was in my office. "

He said, now looking back on his papers, picking up the pen once again that he previously placed down to look at you, before he felt a hand on the side of his head, the hand felt soft, but due to his pride he quickly looked up once again, asking what you were doing, but yet your hand didn't move.

" sorry, was that too much? I should leave now sorry- "

You were cut off by him grabbing your wrist and placing the palm of your hand back onto the side of his head, you noticed him looking away, not saying anything as to not ruin his pride. You chuckled, as you began caressing his face with your thumbs, Lucifer melted into your touch, now sitting on a chair that he placed in his office as he got used to you visiting every week or so. He felt so touched deprived, and nothing made him cheer up.

" this is... nice. Don't leave. Not yet. Stay with me for a bit longer. "

Mammon

He was storming into the house, slamming the door open as he mumbles something under his breath, annoyed by those damn witches who toyed with him once again.

Of course, due to loud slam, he managed to disturb everybody who was in the living room, lucifer letting out a groan of annoyence before shouting at him from afar as to not slam the door

Mammon, let out a grumpy expression as he snappe dhis head at lucifer, but not wanting to hand from the ceiling once again, he quickly left, stomping his feet.

You looked worried, you were reading a book Satan reccomended you, now closing it and handing it back to him, as you followed Mammon to his room, saying his name trying to get his attention

" Mammon! "

You said his name with a worried tone, following to his room, locking himself inside. You sighed as you walked up to his room and knocked, multiple times.

" Mammon! Are you okay? What made you so grumpy? Do you want to talk about it? "

You didn't want to be too pushy but you had to know whay set him off, but before you could knock once again, the door cracked open, his golden eyes can be seen throuh the crack of the door

" are my brothers nearby? "

He asked in a hushed voice, now looking around, and saw you shaking your head no, as he suddenly open the door and dragged you inside, you two were close enough to hold eachother's hand and pat eachother on the head, but this was different the aura around him was different. The room's lights were off, the whole room was dark, you two stood there, him still holding your wrist, you just sighed and puleld him into a tight hug.

" I am guessing you don't want to talk about it, want to hug it out? "

You asked in a sweet voice, your hands wrapped arlund his chest, as your left hand patted him on the back, while your right was caressing the back of his hair. He only nodded, his face buried into your shoulders, as you both walked and sat on his bed. His hands then hugged your waist as you held him, you could feel tears dripping out his eyes, you didn't say anything, he hoped that you wouldn't feel it but too late. Suddenly he came closer to you. Making you fall back onto the bed, and yet he still was holding onto you, hugging so close to the point you could feel his breath going onto down your skin, ypu only chuckled, as he was now the smaller spoon, suddenly kissing his forehead, and got flushed, noticing how embarrassing that was, but somehow he didn't respond, and only let out a muffled-

" more. Give me more of those stupid kisses of yours. Please. "

Leviathan

You noticed that Leviathan didn't get out of his room for almost over a week now, only accepting food that was layed down on a tray infront of his door

You got a bit annoyed by it, qnd qondered qhat could have happened to him to make him shut himself in, you asked the brothers about any theories on what could have happened

From what you could unrerstamd, somebody from the school won the ruri-chan limited addition life sized figurine, and got very envious about it, and ending up locking himself in his room.

With an annoyed aigh, after dinner has finished you decicded to get into his room

" my my, Levi hasn't gotten out of his room since like, two and half week~ that's a new record at this point. "

Asmodeus groaned, as he sat up form his chair and sighed, palcing his chin on his cheek as he turned to you.

" I know you deeply care about him, so you check up on him~ "

Asmodeus giggled, before patting you on your back as you stood up, cleaning your lips with the napkin, now looking at him.

" I just... hope he's okay. "

You said, now dusting off your outfit before smiling at asmodeus, patitng him on the shoulder as you beagn your journey to his room, you know the password will be much harder than before since he was in a bad mood. Now walking up to his door and knocking as you hear his voice shouting

" WHO IS IT?? CAN'T YOU SEE IM BUSY- "

"Leviathan open the door please, you know, I'm getting worried sickly over you..."

You cut him off, knocking the door again, before the door slightly opened, now looking at you with a frown.

" ....Can i enter, dear lord Leviathan? "

You thought that would work, and it did! As he not mvoed out of the way so you could get in, now entering you noticed a few things, his roomw as much messier and un-organized, book stacks everywhere and his console one, you sighed and now sat him down on his bed aka bathtub. And wrapped him with his blanket, now placing your chin ontop of his head and making his bakc lay on your chest, as you hugged him tightly form behind and huffing.

" You can rant about how annoying that demon is and about ruri-chan. I don't care if you think that's stupid, I will listen to and understand you as much as I can! "

You said confidentially, Leviathan blinked a few times, that was so fast that his brian had to process everything. Before blushing like crazy and stuttered as he tried to speak, but then your hand was caressing his face, which then made him blush even more, basically turning into a tomato.

" I... But you already know.."

He said, now burrying the bottom side of his face with the blanket, now looking down with a frown, melting into your touch more, as he slowly began to ranting after he just shut down your offer, and yet you didn't say anything. And only listened to him, nodding and listening in carefully. When he finished ranting for about 30 minutes straight, he was basically like a clingy baby, you chuckled and kissed his forehead, making him blush once again. But this time not as crazy as before, now staring at you.

" Can we please... please games together? We can play your favorite game... just keep hugging me... it makes me feel better. "

Leviathan muttered the last part, as you now chuckled, hugging once again

" of course, c'mon, this time I will beat you!"
