well guys, it's been officially a week later since the end of the "birthday party" event. crazy it already flew by fast but formerly something i really wanted to say from the very start: thank you.

quite frankly i know i could've just made a simple thank you text as a normal person does, but i wanted to really to show my gratitude by giving something nice. and that something nice was the discord server until... my chaotic brain decided to make a daily week event inspired by scott cawthon UIGHJDSXUKGJH but otherwise- i hope everyone enjoyed tuning in everyday and i've personally been having a blast talking and hanging out with everyone since.

now, i got my secret final card up my sleeve that i've been wanting to do. was to give back something to some specific folks. amazing folks. folks that one: were my introduction to this amazing smg4 community, and two: friends i've made that has genuinely changed my life for the better, and three: been the greatest support i could've ever asked. it's still insane to me that i knew my life would be changed the moment i clicked on a youtube video of someone yapping about a specific blue and purple character from a gmod meme show and if they would work canonical. following up with me just 3 hrs later my first fanart doodle for myself. with just recently that moment being so happy i reached 100 followers on here... if you would've told me four months later that it'll exceedingly grow 10x i would laugh at you and walked away... you guys are insane in the best way possible it has scared me to death, but never have i done better improving my skills and mental health.

I have spent nearly nine years at this point drawing these two kids haha, and I think I have finally nailed down how I want to draw them. But who knows I might always end up changing them again lmao.

this is, yet again, for my friend @tanzdoesthings!! our revenge chain made it up to level 8 njhbgvfcfrdcvgyhujn

im crazy proud of this. is it a good animation? not really. but IVE NEVER ANIMATED ANYTHING WITH MORE THEN LIKE 10 FRAMES BEFORE. AND I DID THIS IN LESS THEN 48 HOURS. I THINK THAT'S REALLY COOL.

i'll drop a post-artfight summary here as well!!

i myself made 7 attacks this fight, and drew 16 characters!! in total, i earned 753.25 points for team seafoam :)

i received 13 direct attacks, and had one of my characters included in 5 others! my battle ratio for this year is shit lol

i messed around with lighting a lot and figured out a shading style that i really like!

i taught myself how to properly animate in two days!!

and i think that two of my top three favorites pieces out of all of my art were both drawn for this fight. one as an attack and the other as a "reference" image of one of my characters.

im pretty happy with how this artfight went. wish i hadnt had such a slump near the beginning of the month, there were several attacks i had planned that i never got around to doing...

buuuuut. just because artfight is over doesnt mean i cant still draw other people's silly little guys... the violence can and will continue for as long as i want it to >:)

RainWorld ArtFight Collection!

A collection of pieces that I did during the RainWorld Discord ArtFight thing! It was INCREDIBLY fun and I loved getting to draw other members of the community's characters so so much, this community is just BEYOND creative when it comes to this type of stuff!!

In order, these guys characters are...

Thirteen Vases Upon Vines and The Warning owned by DysphoricCicada! (Or @sick-ada on here!) These guys were an utter BLAST to draw, I adore it when people make unique iterator designs and so when I saw TVUV's design I knew I just HAD to draw them, and The Warning was just... oh so adorable... But their designs tie in together really well, in my opinion, and I loved getting the opportunity to draw the two of them! :] I would definitely jump at the opportunity to draw them again, if given the chance! Also fun green version I ended up not going with for the final:

The Ambusher owned by icantbelieveitsbutter! (From the Discord!) I love the reptile and amphibian influence for The Ambusher, and reading up on their story and information immediately inspired me to draw them with a dropwig! This was my first time ever drawing a dropwig, and figuring out the best way to draw their anatomy and color them to where they didn't melt with the colors of The Ambusher was rough... But I like how it came out! I didn't plan for that one to have a background either but I thought doing something you might see on a Scavenger wall would look interesting, and I'm glad I did so! :] Transparent version:

Ptarmonk owned by Arctic_Ptarmigan! (From the Discord!) This one was my most challenging by far! But not because of the character Ptarmonk was SOOO fun to draw; I really wanted to experiment with posing and painting techniques with this one, especially with the type of character they were! I LOOOVE when slugcats are decked out in gear you would find around the world itself, it really adds to their character in a fantastic way! At least in my opinion... :] Transparent version:

Punk and Gael owned by 852satoshi/Lucyfer Null! (From the Discord!) This was a very last-minute art piece since this person reached out to me and asked to do a "double attack" where they drew two of my guys and I drew two of theirs! I didn't have any quarrels with it as their characters were very lovely!! I absolutely love the accessories of Gael, the red guy, and his patterns were something I wouldn't expect for a slugcat but they work fantastic! And Punk, the purple one, also has a really fun design - I loved drawing their 80's guitar and the pose for them was super fun yet challenging! I also wanted to experiment a bit with the textures and colors! Transparent version:

I hope this becomes a regular thing! I had A TON of fun drawing for other people and seeing how others interpret my designs! It was a wonderful experience!!

And when you wake up a blissful 2 later hours than usual, you feel as if the angels came down from the heavens and kissed you on the forehead. Saving lives is hard work and sometimes living your own life was hard enough so having a break was like being in paradise. In fact, you are so rejuvenated that you practically skip down the stairs and beeline to the kitchen to have a homecooked breakfast. Your favorite: fluffy pancakes with maple syrup and butter, with some eggs and bacon on the side. A meal fit for a king, but you suppose it will have to settle for being eaten by the royal doctor. As you hum a popular radio tune, you haul your ingredients out from the fridge and collect your measuring cups (and thanking/congratulating your past self for buying ingredients earlier in the week). It was serene, and even idylic in a weird way. "Friend! You're finally awake!" Ah, right you live with celestial-themed animatronic vampires. You had almost forgotten. "Hey Sun," you replied with a half-smile, "Sorry 'bout that. I have my day off today, so I guess my body was happy to take up the time." Sun perks up at the mention of " day off " and he grins, terrifying fangs and all. "Really?! I would have thought you would work yourself to death before getting a break!" You flip over the pancakes as you roll your eyes: "Ha, ha." Sun grimaces at the food you're making, which you think is ridiculous. You would think a vampire wouldn't be as critical of what others eat, but then again these roommates of yours were always surprising you. Sun in one swift motion, scoops you into his arms which earns him a yelp from you as you unceremoniously drop your spatula: "Hey!" "Relaaax darling!" He drawls, as he begins to sway you to a nonexistent song. You'd never danced much before, but you were quite certain he was waltzing with you. After your recovered from your daze, you realize you are pressed up against Sun's stomach with your hands in his as he leads the two of you in a slow dance.You gaze up wide eyed as Sun's rays spin in glee coupled with his signature grin. What is it with vampires and no sense of personal space? Despite your many, many half-hearted protests, Sun continues to twirl you around (it's in these moments you are reminded of his wildly superior strength) as he chats about his and Moon's latest shenanigans of which you aren't entirely sure are true. Statements ranged from: "We met a werewolf out in the woods!" to "Did you know unicorns bleed rainbow? I sure didn't!" filled the room but regardless of their truth you smiled and even laughed a bit. And...it was kind of fun. Sun's chatter was comforting, and so was his physical presence. It didn't really matter what he talked about to you, really. It just mattered that he was here in front of you. Then came to you, as you danced with Sun across your tile kitchen floors ("You're a natural!" was said right before you almost tripped and ate shit) a dangerous thought. You could get used to this. Everyday, a morning waltz with your strange and mystical roommate. You look up. Sun's looking at you with a longing gaze, something you aren't used to seeing from him. He doesn't change his expression at all as you scruntize him. If anything, the gaze gets more intense. And then...as if something was going to happen....you smell something funny. "Fuck the pancakes!"

Revamp: Monthly Subs and Reward Art!

Hi everyone! After a long hiatus on this due to inconsistent health, I'm back and feeling better than ever, and I'd like to re-institute my monthly subscription service for art rewards. These will be active on my Ko-fi starting on August 1st! Read on to hear about the changes from my old system and details of what you'll get for subscribing, but if you don't care about any of that and just want to see the rewards page, here it is:

So last time I was offering art rewards, it gradually became unsustainable for a number of reasons, chief among them the fact that I was basically offering severely discounted full commissions of all styles, and it was exhausting to fulfill in addition to regular commission work. I just couldn't keep up and got overwhelmed. So to help prevent that this time around, here are the changes I'm implementing:

I'll have a single reward type: single character busts! These are easy to crank out in an hour or less, so I can keep up with demand better. I'll reserve the right to decide between lined/lineless flats and papercrafts as I see fit to keep them interesting and fun for me, but if it's your birthday month or your yearly sub anniversary, you can choose the style and get a little something extra! For examples of what a bust looks like, please check out my recent ArtFight submissions :)

I'm going to do my level best to institute a hard 3-week turnaround rate for all regular commissions, and save the final week of each month for giving these rewards full priority along with onboarding new batches of clients for the following month's commissions.

I'm moving my subscription service over to Ko-fi, where anyone can give between $2-9 a month as a very generous tip and get access to my Discord server, or give $10+ for monthly bust rewards, early access to adoptables, and more! You can choose to give more than $10, but no other rewards exist for higher tier subs, it's up to whatever you feel is appropriate! Ko-fi has both Stripe and PayPal integration, which should be easier on the subscriber end, and it allows me to use PostyBirb to post across multiple sites at once, which makes it much easier to post early-access WIPs and finished work than it was on my old subscription service. It also automatically handles Discord onboarding and role assignment, yay!

I'm on the hunt for a simple Discord bot that can post a single repeating message on the first of every month with a link to a Google form for everyone to submit their requests, so that I don't have to ask for them manually. (If anyone knows of such a bot or is capable of making one, please get in touch!)

Previously I offered a whole suite of other rewards in addition to the monthly art -- things like subscriber-only request streams, early claims on adoptables, and even physical merch, which were not sustainable for me. Going forward, early adoptable claims for a discount will still be available as a reward, and I may occasionally do request streams, but on a less formally-scheduled basis and only as I have the free time to do so. I am not able to offer physical prints/stickers at this time; I might revisit the option in the future, but I need to know more before I try it again! I'll also be continuing to offer a subscriber discount on all commissions that will stack with other sales and discounts, along with the ability to skip the waitlist and jump directly into the work queue.

My Discord is open to anyone, and all members can freely chat, post art, attend/host art streams, and answer polls regarding prompts for adoptable designs and more. You just get some nice bonuses for subscribing! While these subscription tiers are available, one-time tips and donations of any amount are still an option for commission clients or anyone else who just wants to show some love.

I hope this all makes sense and sounds enticing; I really love seeing people's OCs and getting to bring them to life and put my own little touch on them, and I'm very excited to start giving something back to all of you out there whose support means so very much to me, and without whom I could never do what I do.
