Why does every fanfic give Jon a @gmail.com domain? Is the fan base really so young that they've never heard of AOL? AIM was running until the end 2017! THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES PEOPLE!
Episode 12 of my graphic novel DREAMOVER is up on Webtoon ^.^ c/w: 𝓷𝓸𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓰𝓲𝓪 (you can also read the whole thing here!! https://www.dreamovercomic.com/ )
I was still thinking about AvA/M birthdays and looked up when AIM was created, and it seems to be May 1997, which is funny to think of because I was nine years old then. We’re both old. XD
And then I thought it’d be cute if AIM Guy was Yellow’s grandpa. His name is just Aim, but sometimes Sticks call him Amy. He’s a celebrity in StickCity and across the internet.
Aim and the other icons who fought Chosen escaped Alan’s PC just in time, and stuck together for a while. Eventually Aim went to StickCity and got an apartment. Firefox was the only icon who went with him and is his pet.
Yellow visits him regularly, especially on his birthday. Sometimes Aim visits the CG on the desktop, and he was surprised to see Alan again.
Firefox didn’t like Alan at first but eventually trusted him again.
This genuinely sucks. RIP ICQ. RIP to that entire era of online communication. All four of the major, big IM platforms of the 00s, reduced to just a burning memory.
I may be 31, but this coming June 26th, that's the day my childhood ends.
Like, man, idk, I'm genuinely mourning the final death of the environment in which I experienced my adolescence.
Not ICQ, I didn't really use ICQ, but like, what it means symbolically that all four of those platforms are going to be gone.
