(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ (One for each?)
Send me a (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ to get a hug, a kiss, or a slap, depending on what my muse thinks you deserve.
@armaxlucis
Leon would gladly give Yuuki a hug.
Despite Haguma’s weird fascination of ducks, Fey would gladly give him a hug.
Manifestation would just straight-punch Akane in the face.
Kane would give Himegi a gentleman’s kiss on the hand.
Kane would offer Chess a brotherly fist bump.
Zio would give Rashe a tender hug.
Murelle would give Reiji a hug whenever he needs one.
When Ichiya is sad, Zio would give him a tender hug.

A/N: Lmao this was from so long ago. I always intended to write it into the main story itself and even had the Ask saved on the doc I work on but I somehow forgot anyways and missed the mark where I planned to put this in =w=; so now it’s a ficlet (#`-_ゝ-)
I also forgot what I planned for it. So this trash pile is what you get instead. Take it or leave it--- ( ˘︹˘ )

This is part of my Haikyuu!! reverse harem main series, Ghosts We See. Recommended to read that for context and understanding but not necessary (please note that the main series is rated M following AO3′s guidelines)

Ghosts We See // Ficlet 06:  An Indignant Owl
Tumblr media
Since coming to Hyquile, you learned that many things you once thought to be impossible are in fact, actually, possible.
Dimension traveling, magic, animal-folk, ice-cold leaves, spy owls - the standard fantasy fare.
Today, you learned that it is possible for Scary Bokuto to be late.
 Yes.
Scary Bokuto is late to a meeting with the Summit members.
...Actually, scratch that - he has been late before. Back when he arrived at the first and original Summit meeting, he was not fashionably late, but just plain late. Needless to mention his spectacular gatecrashing.
But that had been under gatecrashing circumstances. This time, he was properly invited and given a precise time and location that is exactly three floors down and seven hallways away from his guest chambers.
And he’s late.
Akaashi is out looking for him at this moment and until they return, everyone else is on standby and doing their own thing on the castle grounds, including you.
It’s been hectic lately, and this unexpected delay is a welcome reprieve for everyone.
So you took the chance to explore a section of the royal gardens you've yet to venture into.
Oikawa's ancestors are either big fans of gardens or maybe it has something to do with the nature affinity of the population but the Blue Castle has gardens that rivals - maybe even exceed - the magnificence of the Gardens of Versailles.
The section you are currently exploring even has a hedge maze! If only there wasn’t a meeting soon… you’ll have to come back another time and give the maze a try. Who knows when Akaashi will be back with his lord in tow. It could be minutes or it could be an hour from now.
Skirting around the perimeters of the maze, a broad walkway shaded by rows of thin, tall trees opens up ahead. At the center of this walkway, shorter trees line the white gravel from start to end. Sunlight filtering through the emerald canopy splashes the ground with specks of gold and white.
You walk to the center of the walkway and take a deep breath. Crisp air enters your lungs whilst the whistling wind and rustling leaves caress your ears. The area is empty save for you, and a peace you can only find in such moments in a place of beauty falls over you. In this evanescent tranquility, you can understand the garden mania of the Aoban royals.
You were minding your own business, ambling down the walkway, and enjoying the tranquil respite when from out of nowhere, a large owl swoops down right by you! Close enough that you felt the swipe of a feather tip along your cheek and the wind rushing in its wake.
Sputtering at the invisible dust settling onto your shocked tongue, you stare up at the rogue owl that has taken residence on a low branch in one of the stout trees lining the center.
It casts golden orbs over you that remind you too much of someone but… nah, it can’t be him. This is an owl. And that menace is...well, him.
Now that you think about it, you’ve never seen him or Akaashi transform into full owls before, unlike the cat-folks. They always only had the wings on their backs.
You know that owls can be aggressive at times, some more than others, but you figure that if this owl truly wanted to attack you, it would look more threatening. Instead, it has chosen to ignore your existence completely, eyes closing as its head snuggles deep into its feathers.
Stopping right underneath the branch that the owl has colonized, you gaze up at it in wonder.
Its feathers are of a beautiful sheen of silver, highlighted by strokes of dark greys and black. On its head is a pair of long plumicorns that flutter with its every movement; a cape of silver contrails that crowns the owl with a kingly aura.
The colors and shape of its plumes also remind you a lot of…
“You look a lot like someone I know,” you mutter to yourself. “I don’t know why, you remind me of Scary Bo.”
Amber eyes snap back open and the owl, ‘Scary Bo,’ stares down at you condescendingly, to your astonishment. What an amazingly anthropomorphic owl.
The owl ruffles its feathers angrily in response to your gawking.
Foolish girl. Do you have any idea just who he is? Who you’re muttering cluelessly in front of? Obviously, you don’t. You should be cowering, for he is ‘Scary Bo’ himself! Bokuto Koutarou, the notorious leader of Owl Vale!
‘Scary Bo’... is that what you think of him? Pfft. Damn straight. You should be scared of him. Even in this form, he can claw out your eyes and sever your neck without any effort. No daggers needed.
By the spirits, have you no shame, staring mindlessly as if he’s up for display?
  Stop gawking!
“Hoot!!”
Laughter bursts from your chest and you couldn’t help but clap in glee when the owl hooted. It’s very cute, despite its angry-looking demeanor. In the same way a snobby, standoffish cat comes off as adorable because of its less than pleasant personality, this owl is very much the same.
Your excited claps and cooing about his cuteness is not the reaction that Bokuto wanted from you, and only serves to make him more indignant.
He has half a mind to revert back to his human form and terrify some sense into you but as it is, he’s currently on the run from Akaashi who he knows is out looking for him.
Yes, yes - there’s another spirits-forsaken meeting that he has to attend. Which is precisely why he wasn’t there for it the first time. It was no mistake that Bokuto was ‘late’ to the meeting.
All those pretty princes and frail foxes - even Kuroo! -  can talk and babble in circles all they want but Bokuto will have no part in it. When he invited himself to the Summit, he expected faster solutions than this. Grass grows faster in the desert than they can make decisions!
It’s a wonder how their nations haven't fallen into political disarray from lack of decisiveness.
  Cease your foolish fawning, mouse!
“Hoot! Hooot!”
 “Awww-!”
The more Bokuto orders you to stop your silly babbling, the more you cooed sweet baby talk at him.
You, on the other hand, hear and see nothing but a large, puffy owl bobbing its head furiously whilst hooting strings of deep, melodious sounds. You told yourself that if it truly meant to harm you, it would have done so long ago. As such, its delightful headbanging did not worry you in the least.
Adrenaline fueling your courage, you raise your arm up towards it with the hopes of persuading the owl to climb onto your sleeve-covered arm. And perhaps, your time with Mori might have gotten to your head, boosting the confidence you have in your bird-handling abilities. Surely you can handle another owl, even if it's several times larger than Mori or any other owls you have ever seen before.
You...annoying little mouse! Are you daft?!
Bokuto straightens and reels away from your arm, plumicorns straightening alongside him. He raises a claw to swat your intruding hand away though took care to miss actually hurting you. He’ll hear no end of it from Akaashi if he bodily harmed you. Playing mind games and chasing you through the forests when you first arrived and pecking your fingers off now at this stage of your acquaintance with them are two entirely different circumstances.
By nature or function, you have an inexplicable knack for grating his nerves and Bokuto should have expected something as unfortunate as his claw getting caught in the sleeve of your borrowed Aoban clothes.
Cursed leaf people and their flowy clothes!
Left with no other choice, he lightly hops onto your arm as he continues trying to shake his talon free, but that is proving difficult with his lack of grip. This would be no issue if he could just latch onto you properly but doing so will surely puncture your skin.
Bokuto curses you in his head as he resorts to using his beak to pull at your sleeve, even pettily pecking at your hand out of spite.
“Hey- ow, ow, ow!”
Serves you right!
“Hoot!”
“Here, let me-” you say as you raise your other hand to help the owl. But that only causes it to spread its wings in retaliation, one side slapping the side of your head.
Shaking off the unexpected slap, you try reaching for its crown instead. Mori likes it - no, loves it - when you do this so maybe…-
As best as you can whilst evading consecutive wing attacks, you tentatively touch the owl’s head.
 Bokuto is livid.
The moment he felt your fingertips on his head, all thoughts of avoiding harming you evaporated. He will peck your damn hands off!
How dare you lay your fingers on him! How dare you even think that-
You begin stroking the spot right between his plumicorns.
 …
 ……
 …………
 Oh.
 ….fine. Fine.
Just for a little bit. This is nothing to him.
Akaashi and Kuroo are always on his back about being more tolerant of others around him. He can tolerate this. Just for a little bit.
 One stroke. Two strokes.
At the third stroke, he will snap your fingers if you don’t stop-
Fourth stroke.
 “You like this, don’t you?”
You giggle as the owl’s erratic movements slow to a complete halt. It sits heavily on your arm where an evident ache is beginning to creep up your elbow.
It hoots indignantly at you, sharp golden eyes narrowing into slits.
"This silver...you really do remind me of Bokuto though," you say, running two fingers along the length of one plumicorn.
A thought occurs to you. If Mori belongs to Akaashi then maybe this owl belongs to Bokuto?
"Are you his owl by any chance?" you ask the owl absentmindedly, not expecting a response of any sort.
A wing slaps you.
“Ow! What was that for?!” Grumbling, you rub a notch harder down on its crown with your knuckles, eliciting another angry bird cry.
Resuming your gentler ministrations, you took your time examining the owl, noting how its feathers have a rough edge to them, yet aren't abrasive to the touch. A tell of its robust health built through surviving in the wilds.
The owl has calmed down significantly though now refuses to meet your gaze. With its talon finally free, it has taken to turning itself away on your arm, showing you nothing but its back.
Ignoring you, really.
Yep, this owl must belong to Bokuto or Akaashi. Or at least someone.
It’s too trained, too intelligent to be a wild animal.
“You’re not too bad once you shake off that attitude. Very handsome,” you praise, chuckling when the feathers on its back puffs again.
Flapping and the sound of something landing behind you makes you look over your shoulders to see Akaashi, landing onto his feet with a short stumble. He looks tired, if not for the urgency in his movements. He calls your name, pacing towards you in hurried steps.
“I can’t find him. I’ve looked everywhere. Did you spot him by any chance-”
You turn around to fully face the poor owl-folk.
And Akaashi stills. His eyes bulge in horror.
“No, I didn’t see him at all but I found this one instead!” you grin, happily gesturing at the large owl sitting on your arm. It’s definitely going to be sore tomorrow, maybe even tonight. “Is it - I have no idea if it is a he or her - one of yours?”
You continue rubbing the owl’s head, missing the way Akaashi’s eyes flutter and look like he’s about to faint.
“No, that’s-” he coughs in his shock, “It’s a he but-” His disbelieving eyes dart from you to the owl that has now locked onto him with unblinking golden eyes. “I mean, it’s one of ours but that’s-”
Great silver wings spread wide and you yelp in surprise when the owl cries loudly once, before taking off at an unbelievable speed.
“Aww, it’s gone...”
Only now do you register the sharp pain on your arm and you look to find that your sleeve has been torn. In their place are two stinging crimson lines.
“Shit, it must have scratched me when it flew off…”
Akaashi stares at you, at your arm, then up at the shadow of the owl far in the distance.
He recalls the cry of the owl moments before it flew away and purse his lips.
  ‘Say nothing.’
Walking to you, he gently takes your hand and inspects the scratches. “Let’s get you to the infirmary. The healers will have this healed in no time.” He smiles at you.
“Won’t even leave a scar.”
Tumblr media
  Later, somewhere in Seijoh...
“You will speak of this to no one.”
 “...Yes m’lord.”
 …
...
“But did you like being petted-”
  “I.Will.Kill.You.”

02 ; THE GROOM
PRINCE OIKAWA WAS A MAN of great renown. There wasn’t a person in Aobajohsai that couldn’t recognize him in one swift glance; he walked through the kingdom with a swing in his dainty hips, which contrasted his mighty barrel thighs and broad, sinewy shoulders. His steps were surprisingly soft, and if he wanted to become a ballet dancer, he would probably find surprising success. But Oikawa didn’t want to be a ballet dancer. He wasn’t even in much of a rush to be king (considering he practically ran the kingdom anyway, what with his mother and father being too old and senile to do it themselves). Everything took second place in his affections, save for one thing.
Tracking was his love.
He made it a habit to never let more than a few days go by without tracking something down or training his hounds. It started when he was a young boy, with his parents’ two Irish Wolfhounds—off he would go with them, chasing rabbits through fields to add the stew that the palace cook was making for supper. Before long, he started studying other tracking sports, from fox hunting to coonhunting to even scenting out other humans, and became a talented tracker in each field. Once he was determined, once he focused on a target, the Prince was relentless.
For a while, Prince Oikawa traveled the world, acquiring hounds from the most prestigious lineages and persuading masterful hunters to mentor him. As his skill increased, he took to training and breeding his own dogs, creating Aoban pedigrees that had a name in and of themselves. Unfortunately, travelling consumed time, and the time away from Aobajohsai became increasingly worrying. Oikawa’s father was growing old, and as the only male heir to the throne, it eventually became time for the Prince to return home.
Instead, he took to roaming the Aoban countryside on weekends, accompanied by Count Iwaizumi on the horses he trained. (The Count always was a better horseman than the Prince.) Sometimes they paid visits to the far corners of the kingdom, but more often they stuck to day trips near the castle.
Prince Oikawa was walking out of the barn, two horses in hand, in preparation for one of these trips when news of his father’s health taking a turn made its ultimate intrusion. The sun hadn’t been up long, dew still heavy on the grass, when Count Iwaizumi made his appearance.
“There you are!” the Prince chided him, “You’re running behind, you know?”
(Other nobles of Aobajohsai might have gotten in trouble for such tardiness, but the Count was an exception. After he and the Prince grew up side by side, Iwaizumi was the only person that could raise his voice or lay a hand on Oikawa without consequence.)
“There is news,” Iwaizumi did not bother apologizing.
“Of?” Oikawa handed off the Count’s horse.
“I have the report of your father’s annual physical.”
A pregnant pause.
“He’s dying.”
Prince Oikawa sighed, a frown creasing his otherwise flawless cheeks. He wasn’t surprised by this news—the king’s health had been questionable for years now—but it certainly wasn’t how he would like to have started his morning.
“Well, I guess it’s about time I get married then, huh?”
“Looks to be that way, sire.”
Tumblr media
Four of them met in the great council room of the castle: Prince Oikawa, his greatest confidante, Count Iwaizumi, his father, the aging King, and his evil stepmother, the Queen.
(She wasn’t really evil. In fact, she was actually one of the most beloved people in the kingdom, and had been married to the King since long before he began mumbling. Prince Oikawa had been but a child then, and since the only stepmothers he knew of were the mean ones from fairy tales and bedtime stories, he had decided she must be evil.)
“Alright,” the Prince began once they had all been assembled. “I must marry soon, so we have to pick a bride for me.”
“Yes,” the King said, “I’ve been thinking it was about time we found you a bride.”
(In actuality, he mostly just mumbled it, like, “Yesss, I’ve beennn thumbleee about temmmm wefumbbble bridddde.”)
“You couldn’t be more right, dear,” the Queen patted the King’s shoulder. She was the only person that could decipher his words during these little episodes.
“What did he say?”
“He said whoever we decide on will be getting a wonderfully handsome prince for a lifetime companion,” the Queen replied.
“Ah, well thank you, Father. You’re looking quite well yourself,” Oikawa chuckled back.
“It’s the new miracle maker, I’m sure of it,” the King piped in, wiggling a finger. (It came out mumbled again: “I’ssss the nmumble mumble.”)
“What did he say?”
“He said a man of your importance shouldn’t marry just anyone.”
“I suppose,” Prince Oikawa rested his chin in his hands before sighing.
“What about that Ushijima?” The Queen suggested.
“It would be a good match politically,” Count Iwaizumi admitted, though he knew how much the idea revolted Oikawa.
Prince Ushijima was from Shiratorizawa, the country that lay across the Aoba Channel. (They put it differently in Shiratorizawa; Aobajohsai was the country across the Channel of Shiratorizawa, according to them. The two countries had a history together, spending centuries warring each other. There had been the Rice War, and then the Tuna Fish Discrepancy, which nearly sent both nations into bankruptcy, the Fern Fiasco, which did end up running them fiscally dry, but it was followed by the Great Emerald Boom, during which they both got rich again.)
“He’s a handsome young man, I think we should bring him over for a discussion,” the Queen said. She was always the peacemaker in the royal family, a diplomat through and through.
“No, absolutely not!” cried Prince Oikawa. If it had been any other person, had Ushijima had a sibling or something, perhaps he would have mulled it over, but that wasn’t the case. Oikawa simply could not marry Ushijima.
“There’s no other heirs in any neighboring countries that would benefit us,” Count Iwaizumi reminded him, though he knew it wouldn’t change the Prince’s mind.
“I’ll marry a commoner before I marry that Shiratorizawa filth!”
“Boo, no Shiratorizawa filth!” the King chimed in. (“Booo, numble shumble zumfle!”)
The room quieted for a moment; they seemed to be stuck. Finally, the Count perked up.
“Maybe you can marry a commoner.”
Dead silence again.
“Look, your people have been a bit tense with us nobles the past few years,” the Count continued. “You could bridge the gap by marrying a commoner.”
“A commoner as the princess, what a fun idea!” the King said. (“Commumble as theprimmmble, whumble fum idea!” His words were becoming a tiny bit clearer; he seemed to be coming out of the episode).
“What did he say?” Oikawa still asked.
“Whoever it is must look the part of a noble. They should at least look nice,” said the Queen.
“Of course! I’ll find a commoner so beautiful that when you see them, you stop and stare, and say, ‘Wow, that Prince Oikawa must be some kind of fella to marry someone like that.’ That’s what I’ll do! Search the country, no, search the world!”
Count Iwaizumi furrowed his brow in thought.
“No, I think she is already found,” he said. An uncharacteristic smile crossed his face.
The next day at dawn, the two young noblemen reined in their horses at the hilltop by your farm. Iwaizumi rode a massive black gelding, stout and bulging with muscles. Prince Oikawa rode one of his whites, leaner and elegant. His mare made Iwaizumi’s mount seem like a lowly plow puller.
“She delivers milk from her family’s farm to the market square in the mornings,” Count Iwaizumi told him.
“And she’s truly-not-a-shadow-of-a-doubt-without-question beautiful?” Oikawa asked.
“You calling me a liar?”
“I wouldn’t dare,” Oikawa chuckled.
“She was something of a mess when I saw her,” admitted the Count, still grinning in amusement. “But she was still one of the most beautiful people I have laid eyes on.”
From the bottom of the hill, you appeared, turning your horse (whose name now seems quite ironic) onto the path to the farm. Even from this distance, Oikawa knew Iwaizumi was right.
“I must court my princess, now.”
“Good luck,” the Count teased, unknowing that the Prince might actually need it.
And so the Prince rode on, maneuvering his horse quite expertly down the hill until he was at your side.
You blinked curiously when he approached. You had never seen such a man, riding such a brilliantly shiny horse and wearing such extravagantly crafted clothes.
“Are you Miss (y/n)?”
“I am. Who’s asking?”
“Your prince,” Oikawa grinned a dazzling grin. “I’ve come to ask for your hand in marriage.”
Marriage? You continued riding, with one eyebrow quirked incredulously.
“I’m sorry, sire, but I refuse.”
“You can’t refuse.”
“I just did.”
“But refusal could mean treason, and treason means death,” explained a very confused Prince.
“Kill me then,” you told him.
“But…” the Prince trailed off. For the first time in his life, he was left dumbfounded. Speechless. Shellshocked. He had not been prepared to be turned down, not even slightly.
“But I’m your Prince! And—” Oikawa was beginning to stumble over his words. “And I’m not that bad. How could you rather be dead than married to me?”
“It’s nothing personal, sire,” you soothed his ego. “But marriage involves love, and love has never been particularly kind to me, so I’m sworn to never love again.”
Prince Oikawa’s brows furrowed, creasing his otherwise flawless forehead.
“Love? Who said anything about love?” he said. “Look, here’s the deal. There must always be a male heir to the throne of Aobajohsai. Once my father dies, there will only be a king: me. All I ask is that you marry me so that I can provide a new heir to the throne.”
You stared at him silently.
“You’ll get to be the richest and most powerful woman in the country, and give away turkeys at Christmas and meet people from foreign countries. You could even provide us nobles insight to better help commoners like yourself. So won’t you be my wife?”
You paused again, looking back over at your family’s humble little house. Your father was growing older, and milking the cows everyday was becoming difficult with his aching joints.
“I won’t ever love you.”
“If that is what you wish,” Prince Oikawa said.
“Then by all means, let us marry.”

Name changes
Tumblr media
Himi Yuuki -> Lucea Vermenti (Luce)
Tumblr media
Aobane Himegi -> Himegyllis Azulplume
//So uhhhh in order to support their background story better, I changed their names. Yuuki was supposed to be half Hywestern/Eastian but he lives with his father and therefore should have been given a Hywestern name.
//As for Himegi, she was placed as Eastian before. But now the noble families are all in Hywestern so I changed her name (she’s still called Himegi by others and Hime-chan by Akane though for the sake of shortening her name)
//I’m sorry for the confusion

J, L, O for the fandom asks?
Ohhh okay, hard.
J - Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it all over tumblr
None I guess since mostly I was either into it already and or it did not change my opinion WHEN it was all over tumblr. But on negative side: there are some that are/were just everywhere and became a bit ... annoying but okay.
L- Your favorite fanartist/author gives you one request, what do you ask for
For an artist I’d probably ask for my OCs since I like seeing them in different styles. For author I’d probably ask for the many many promptis things I have in my mind at the moment >-
O-Choose a song at random, which OTP does it remind you of
Of course I had to get something like this “ZipangU” by Sawano Hiroyuki from the Sengoku Basara OSTs (Ongaku emaki ”Aoban -it’s show time”). Btw a very very very very lovely piece. And since it’s Basara it’s a Kojuro/Masamune piece for me if I have to put an OTP for this. But other than that it’s also just a good character song
I tried another one.  “Anaakii in the woods” from The Babys. One of my absolute fav japanese bands

Lukuisat neidot matkustivat Sendain prefektuuriin tilatakseen Maihimen valmistaman kimonon.”
Tällä kertaa oppaan sanat pysäyttivät. Jysäyttivät jotain sydämen tienoilla, värähdyttivät niin, ettei hetkeen voinut edes hengittää. Mai.
Sasuke katsoi huonetta tarkemmin.

For each “⭐️” I get, I’ll write a headcanon about our muses.
@armaxlucis
I literally brainstormed the first headcanons that came in mind, so bear with me, and hopefully one of them isn’t repeated in the past. ;v;
After Yuuki gave Leon most of the basic lessons, they started to play piano together as a duet.
At given time, Akane would teach Leon some origami.
Haguma is still determined to show Fey the true meaning of duckies.
If they have the chance, Himegi and Fey would travel together in wintery locations.
Kane and Chess tend to strive who’s the best sharpshooter between the two in form of friendly competitions.
If Rashe and Zio would share a bed together, she often mistook him as a stuffed animal during her sleep.
If Reiji and Fey have their moment alone, he would be eager to ask her some relationship advice as he seemed to have a crush with a particular someone.
Each time Ichiya and Zio would stumble a stray kitten, they will take the kitten with them.
