So what do you think made Silco’s little heart go doki doki for Vander? Cuz I keep picturing some creep grabbing his (non existent) ass and Vander having none of it. You know just show enough strength and protectiveness to be like ‘oh wait I wanna go mining in that’

I wanna go mining in that, absolutely perfect way to put it aksduhadsi. You know what, I had to indulge myself with this trope, why not!!!:

A little different scenario but the idea is the same. Silco would fall in love with the fact Vander is so safe and that Vander and him share the same kind of passion for the cause. And also brain go brr when big big man big arm punch enemies

Anyway I had a horrible realization about my Wildstar OTPs of the past and my current hyperfixation.

Granted, Wildstar had ONE fantastic hairstyle for Exile men (and the one coat model every basic white boy used...) BUT-

Man, I love that hairstyle on men a lot.

as ive been sculpting out talon's face more and being happy with the little details ive been fixing and adding, i think the silco obsession is also a? Focus? Honing in? Back and forth appreciation? <- unsure of exact feeling, on how its so qwesome when characters have unique features even if stylized its so human its so charming i love it i love it

Vander meeting Silco's eyes, in that River, and suddenly snapping back to himself -- or, not really, no that's not fair, is it? It's still drowning in his emotions but he suddenly realises that he is minutes away from losing Silco, of all people. And what will he be after?

So he gets Silco out of the water, and Silco crumbles on him, unconsicous. Vander takes him back to a doctor -- the choking and almost drowning he'll get over, the doctor says, with no true emotion in his voice, but it's too late for the Eye. The Eye has gotten infected.

Everytime he is not with the kids, in the following weeks, Vander stays at Silco's bedside; at least he does until Silco properly wakes up again, past the infection. Then their eyes meet, and Silco reflexively back away. Grabbing the first thing he can use as a weapon. And they both stare at his raised hand for a second, and call Vander a coward -- he might be, in the end, he must be -- but he can't stand it. He gets up and he leaves, unable to face his own guilt, only telling Silco the bare minimum of his condition and Zaun's conditions.

Of course afterwards Silco wants to leave, but he's weak, physically, and he hurts, and he is enraged, and he hates Vander - for trying to kill him? or not going all the way? For saving him? Or for leaving just afterwards? But this place is his home, people are faithful to them both, he needs... To think. To recover. To move forwards.

And then the little girl comes in, one morning, terrified and sobbing because she can't find her sister, and her sister has been here non-stop since Vander rescued them. Of course Vi's not actually far away - she thought Powder was asleep, she thought she had little bit of time, but still by the time Vi barges into the room, wided eyed, Powder is snuggled against Silco, drawing all over his notes.

Now: Silco won't forgive Vander (of course) and Vander won't face him (OF COURSE) but Powder opened the door to the bedroom, and so the Children become part of Silco's life as much as Vander's. In fact, Silco is the first person Powder finds in herself to be alone with, without Vi, and though Vi struggles, as well, with Vander's reassurance that Silco would never hurt Powder, and Powder NEEDS other people than Vi, just as Vi cannot just orbit over his little sister every second hoping this will be enough to protect her, seeing Powder with Silco becomes more and more frequent.

Anyway. Gonna shock you all here but they end up making up and raising a family together. Also liberating Zaun, obviously.
