How different do you think the power dynamic would be between a reader, Chuuya and Dazai? Because even though chuuya might openly challenge Dazai i feel like he is still the one in control and that he has chuuya under his thumb. Which is sad because chuuya is such a loyal man and even though i think dazai has a certain fondness over chuuya, he also wouldnt hesitate to discard him if things came to it :(

honestly, it would basically be bmb HAHAHA like i don’t see chuuya as a sub or even a switch tbh but he very clearly respects dazai even if he doesn’t particularly like him all the time.

ultimately i agree with you on all accounts; dazai is, at his core, an extremely selfish person, and he is more than willing to do what he must to secure the best outcome for himself/what HE wants, irregardless of who he has to hurt or step on to do it. i don’t think that that makes his feelings any less genuine—like you, i think he truly does care for chuuya and has a sincere soft spot for him—i just think it’s more a case of his selfishness outweighs pretty much anything else. like sure, he’s fond of chuuya, but that doesn’t mean he’ll keep him around if he becomes a threat—that fondness isn’t strong enough to counteract his selfishness. if chuuya begins causing problems or threatening whatever it is dazai wants, he’s gone in an instant, personal feelings set aside for whatever dazai’s ultimate goal is.

if you start siding with chuuya too often, he’s gone. if you start to favour chuuya instead of dazai, he’s gone. if you start disobeying and listening to chuuya’s demands and orders over dazai’s, he’s gone. if chuuya starts to push back too hard, and dazai decides it’s too much work to keep him around and keep reigning him in and stomping him down back into some unstable state of ‘submission’, he’s gone.

however, i think chuuya knows dazai really well—perhaps even better than dazai believes he does (although dazai is so fucking perceptive i’m not sure this would even be possible ahaha)—and he’d know which buttons to press and when to keep himself ultimately safe and a part of the relationship, irregardless of the fact that dazai knows just how to get under his skin and chuuya is quick to anger/react. if chuuya really loves you, and he knows his only chance at being in your life and having any part of you at all means he has to share with dazai, means he has to play dazai’s game, then he’ll grit his teeth and fucking do it. for you, and only for you.

i think that as long as chuuya is willing to submit to dazai in some way and allow him to have and own that ‘leader’ or boss title, the relationship works fairly well. i don’t think chuuya necessarily has an issue with authority or being given orders, but i do think he pushes back and challenges things he doesn’t agree with, so that’s where most of their fights or clashes would stem from (aside from the obvious of dazai provoking him simply to get a reaction + entertain himself). it would mostly be concerning matters surrounding you—dazai thinks one thing is best for you, chuuya disagrees and pushes back as hard as he can while still keeping that delicate power balance and enabling himself to stay a part of this relationship. dazai isn’t exactly a tyrant though; not when it comes to chuuya, anyway. he values his opinion and he’ll hear him and his opposing argument out before he makes a final decision. there will be times where chuuya will have to swallow his pride and let dazai do what he wants even if he doesn’t agree with it, and there will be moments where dazai’s impeccable manipulation gets to chuuya and he’s tricked into believing dazai’s in the right and it was him in the wrong all along. ultimately, though, chuuya has enough of a sense of self preservation to know when to back the fuck down.

i think they’d even be able to cooperate at times tbh! and i think they’d both be able to find enjoyment in like, coming up with sexual punishments with you together or coming up with fun surprise outing ideas for you etc <3 because while they both heavily clash in the anime, they also fight like they’re pieces of the same puzzle and can, when they want to, fit perfectly together <3

ohh yeah. well of course. as always i like to imagine multitudes of will smiths inside of my brain, but if i'm thinking specifically about how i'm characterizing him for my current fic, i'd say he's hyperaware of his looks and he fucking hates it. will's put all of this effort in to build up a reputation as kind of a masshole hockey boy, offering to fight q, chatting up foligno, saying he doesn't use conditioner (because presumably that would be gay?), acting a little too cool for school (i.e. for every shark except mack). and you're telling him that he just -- grew up too pretty? doesn't matter how he acts, he's always gonna have to hear it from guys on the ice because he got his mom's cheekbones? seriously?

one of the many reasons i also characterize him as fascinated by macklin's little mouth scar is like. there's physical evidence of what they do. that they're, like. hard. tough. if mack can take a puck to the face and get blood all over the ice and skate back out for the next period, that's a signifier of masculinity that will doesn't have quite yet. he hasn't been through that physical gamut, so he's still got that unblemished pretty boy face, and everyone around him knows it. that same video where he says he doesn't use conditioner (i think about this so frequently), he also gets real blase about facial injuries. gives a token 'wellll you don't want it to happen' before looking over at mack and getting into how you just kind of have to accept it, because it's part of the sport. and i think for him it would be some sort of complicated equation, like -- plays hockey + dickish + unhygienic + can take a puck to the face like a champ = masculine media image = straight media image.

my will is, above anything else, focused on how he's perceived. to the point sometimes of revealing himself because he craves control. like, that hot takes video where everyone else is just walking out onto the ice as they give their takes, but he clearly thought about it, came back, either had them redo the segment or just made them wait until after practice because he wanted to make sure the version of himself that got put out there was the right one. but in the actual video, it looks awkward and out of place -- in his quest to control his image, he reveals that quest for control, and how it sets him apart from his teammates. why does he want to be perceived a certain way so badly? is he just anxious about the spotlight? or maybe he has something to hide, and in trying to hide it he's given the game away.

it's this whole give and take he does with himself and the people around him and the wider world that would extend to his looks for sure. he's growing his hair out, yeah, but how many pictures of him have you seen recently with his curls actually dry and nice looking and NOT stuffed under a hat? i could probably count them on one hand. he does a lot of his interviews (hot takes video!!!) in his base layers -- why? to emphasize the masculinity of his body? to make sure that when people think of him, they think of how athletic he is before they ever think of how pretty he is? too bad, will, i can do both. but i see you.

honestly i have a Lot of things i like abt shoko…… getting the obvious out of the way; she’s Gorgeous. most beautiful woman in the whole wide world. look at her!!!!!!!!!! :((((((((((

bUT THAT ASIDE . to me, the most interesting thing about shoko is her grief. and her connection to satosugu, obviously, but those go hand in hand!! i’ll die on the hill that she’s extremely similar to the both of them. she was also born with the burden of an ability she didn’t ask for, and she also became a weapon for the jujutsu society to wield. the irony is that she’s a weapon who Heals as opposed to satoru and suguru, but that’s arguably a worse thing to go through. in one of her phanpara voicelines, she mentions that it might be better to be out on the front lines than to stay back not knowing if the others will return in one piece…..

she’s just . stuck in such an awful situation. i think she’s seen far more death and suffering than either satoru or suguru . there’s a good chance she’s had to dissect her dying friends since she was fifteen. no wonder she comes across as so detached!!!!! no wonder she covers everything up with apathy or humour. she’s lost so many friends throughout the years. and she’s had to touch their corpses. i can’t imagine how much that messes you up.

but. yeah . her grief is just so, so silent. it’s almost always either subtextual or shown through visual imagery (usually her cigarettes)… it’s hard to tell what she’s thinking but it’s so obvious she’s suffering when you look at that subtext. her calling suguru childish for thinking nobody would understand him (implying she did), walking out of the room during jjk 0 when yaga declares war on him. picking up smoking again after gojo gets sealed, and she finds out that kenjaku had taken over geto’s body. (which is partially her fault!!! she was supposed to have disposed of it, but gojo tried to show compassion by not forcing her to. and that’s why kenjaku could take over.) the amount of cigarettes she’s smoking when she’s watching gojo fight sukuna….. etc etc . it’s all there. her grief is very silent and compliant and sad. but it’s so obvious that she loved them both.

basically; shoko is flawed, traumatized, desensitized, and kind despite that. just like satoru and suguru. she isn’t able to open her heart to anyone, isn’t able to be honest about how she feels, and she’s resigned herself to her role as a weapon. but she cares. she sticks around and keeps healing and never complains. i think she cares so much that she has to force herself into a state of apathy. she wouldn’t be able to keep going otherwise.

all of this is just my own take on her, but . imo it’s a take that the manga supports!!! we haven’t gotten any glimpses into her headspace aside from chapter 220, but we have more than enough subtext and interactions to analyze her character…. overall, i just think shoko is interesting. and wellwritten, in a subtle way. i hope akutami gives her the spotlight she deserves in future chapters because she has such a silent and unique role in the story…. it’s really hard not to fall in love with her!!!!! :’3 she’s just so cool…

anyway i said i had three reasons for loving shoko and her gorgeous gorgeous face + character writing are two of them . so i’ll end this by mentioning the final thing!!!!!! ….. which is that she’s super funny .

like. she’s a healer . but the first time we see her in the morgue she’s cutting curses open with a chainsaw. she’s disappointed when yuji turns out to be alive because she won’t get to dissect him. the students hesitate calling her for help with their injuries at night because they never know if she’s sober or not. in the light novel she takes gojo to a bar and calls him a big kid. in phanpara she complains when you put her on your team because she doesn’t want to do any work. she cheated her way through med school. she wore sunglasses during her best friend’s unsealing party. she made nanami and haibara give her a shoulder massage after they lost against her and gojo at an arcade game. she then forced a very grumpy suguru into taking a selfie with her. she’s so fucking funny and i love her <333333

OKAY. SO. You guys know about my Bugtale AU I made?? (If not it should be under #bug encyclopedia) well I started developing more world building!!!

Complete with a unique set of language systems, border politics, transport system, and Ant Hill architecture!

I havent drawn any of these yet but id written some guidelines for myself and oughhh I love it so much!!!!!

Mainly, the 3-word sentence structure of the main bug society where they take their thoughts and musy condense it down to 3 words at a time.

For example if you wanted to ask someone to go with you to a new coffee shop, you would say:

"You-me-go. Coffee-shop-new."

And usually this would be in easy to understand English but actually! Bug hybrids use a set of clicking noises to convey their meaning. Using a range of frequency, and volume!

Dont get me STARTED on the transportation. They use a kind of train...? Bus....? System with Flavus Centipede hybrids who stop at depots. The Flavus can carry most lighter bugs and are cared for by an administration of Butterflies and other utility-based bugs.

He’s being lifted gently, his legs held just under the knees and raised up and to the side, and then he’s being laid back down on something soft and warm. The ringing in his ears makes it hard to hear clearly, but as it fades he’s able to make out someone calling his name. They sound almost frantic.

“—ohn, John? John? Can you—oh, thank God.” John cracks open his eyes and squints at the unfocused face of what must be Solomon Tozer, hovering above him. Lord, he feels absolutely wretched. “Are you alright? Can you hear me?”

“I fainted,” John croaks. The hand stroking his hair—there is a hand stroking his hair, he realises—moves to his forehead, palm up against his brow. It’s rough and cool, and feels wonderful against his fevered skin.

“You did,” Tozer echoes, and then under his breath, as though speaking to himself, “frightened the bloody life out of me.” Then he catches himself, and adds hastily, “Beg pardon for me language, sir.” The hand removes itself. John almost whines at the loss of it. “You’re burning up,” Tozer says softly. “No wonder. Here, I’ll go and get Mr. Jopson—“

“Don’t go,” John rasps desperately, quick enough to cut off the end of Tozer’s last syllable. “Don’t—don't leave.“

AAAAAAAHHHH SCREEEEEEAMMM YES YES oh my gosh, Tozer calls him John!!!! This would definitely be the first time he calls him John. And "beg pardon for my language, sir" oh my gosh he's so respectful. He shouldn't use such rough language around the other man. Anon yes, I love this 🙏!!!!

Tozer doesn't get any work done that day. He stays to look over Irving. Getting him food and water from the kitchen. Making sure his fever stays down. And hodge is like "poor dear," standing in the doorway a safe distance away, with a handkerchief covering his mouth. He's looking to where Irving lay pink faced and pitiful. To Tozer he says "Jopson has gone to call on the doctor in town. He'll be back within the hour. I hope it isn't anything too serious."

Ahhh and later after doctor macdonald came and went, (it's just a nasty cold) Tozer asks Irving if he needs anything, he says "my uniform, it's too constructive 😞 and the skirts have twisted from all my turning." He sounds miserable.

Hesitantly, Tozer says "I could help you out of it. So you'd be more comfortable." And is surprised how quickly Irving nods. So he helps unbutton the front. His large hands slipping beneath, over his shoulders, to guide the fever warmed clothes down his arms. And when the dress is pushed away, he sees that John is wearing a thin white top, the kind he's seen on women.

The action of divesting a women of her dress is very familiar to the ex marine and he suddenly can't help thinking of it now. Those darkened rooms port side, a woman sighing in his ear. How hed touch them, just like this. He puts the thought aside, helping get the skirts down and off him as well. John is slumped forward, weak with fever, cheek resting on sol's shoulder.

"there you go, sir. lay back now." and internally Tozer is just like 😵‍💫 Aah,h hh haa fjjskskfds

hey sumaya!! i just wanna say i LOVE the way you write!! im a huge fan of liar liar!! i might sound insane but i've waited patiently for every chapter, ever since the very first one. y/n fics are something im not very much into but you've got me HOOKED. i'm also usually very picky about what i read and you cater to my tastes perfectly!! i just wanted to wish you luck. i am currently a senior in highschool, and i'm pretty much going through EXACTLY what you're going through, just in another country. i also have to turn my super mediocre grades into 97% or above and this marksheet determines my entire future 😭😭 so yeah, i know a thing or two about stressing tf out. i'm writing this to let you know that there's other people experiencing what you are - that you're not alone. i'm not gonna tell you that its gonna be fine and to not stress out too much because that's inevitable. it WILL get stressful and you WILL feel burnt out. and it will make you wonder multiple times over the course of the next few months whether its even worth it or not. that's just the way it is because the education system sucks pretty much everywhere 👍 if you ever feel down in the dumps just remember that there's people out here on the internet rooting for you regardless!! we're here for you when it feels too overwhelming and you have very little faith in pretty much everything.

also, please please please take a breather after your exams. its important that you have a little time off. spend some time with friends/family/yourself/nature/music/books/craft (idk what you do to chill so...anyways). even during the next few months, try to cut back on the burn out-y feeling. i'd tell you how if i'd figured it out myself 🥲 but srsly tho, good luck!! see you later this year!!

ps: this will sound stupid but english is my third language but basically one time you used a word i didn't know so i googled it and then somehow ?? i used it in my english exam on a huge question and my teacher complimented my vocabulary 😭 also i scored the the highest (95) in thaty grade somehow (sideplot my friend told her i read fanfiction 2 years ago im still embarassed about it but i covered it up by reading a bunch of books in front of her)
