What is it with Baldurs Gate 3, that this game has so many characters I completly obsess about? I am usually a "one-true-blorbo" kinda girl. Fenris, Solas, Garrus, Jaal. Those are my Bioware blorbos.

I might try to smooch some one else but it never really works out.

Now for some reason, in BG3 my brain makes blorbos out of half the cast.

Astarion is my No 1. He is a very angry feral cat and I will love him till I die. He is perfect and sweet and angry and deserves sunlight and hugs and sweet gentle kisses and patience and a fucking hero in shining armor who stands beside him, without expecting shit in return. Who is there and is his shield and voice of reason. Some one who doesn't save him but gives him the space and chance, so he can save himself.

But damn, there is Raphael who takes way to much space in my brain lately. Give me that pillow princess and I will make him so much better he forgets what contracts even are. This poor sweet devil prince who never experienced love or someone who truly cares about him. All he knows is terms and conditions and life is so much more than transaction. Such a shame that he cant be romanced ingame. He is just the best devil and damn he looks soo soo yum. (WHERE IS MY RAPHAEL ROMANCE)

Karlach who is the bestest ever and I want her to ride me into the ground, and I want to hug her and hold her hand and never let her go and tell her is is the best thing since the invention of icecream and she deserves EVERYTHING!

Gale, sweet Gale who deserves unconditional true love, kindness and so many kisses. Someone who tells him "you are enough" and just loves him and blows him till he sees stars.

Wyll who deserves someone loyal, and sweet, who stands beside him and doesn't throw him away and tells him he is perfect the way he is. Also dances in the moonlight yayyy!

Dammon with his cute smile and sweet voice who needs to be smooched very gently. (WHERE IS MY DAMMON ROMANCE? Also he and Karlach would be perfect for each other if not romanced)

Rolan with his snotty attitude who needs to be smooched very hard. Also he needs to be fucked against a wall. (WHERE IS MY ROLAN ROMANCE)

Zevlor who deserves all the hugs and love. Also he needs someone who grabs his horns while riding him into the ground. (WHERE IS MY ZEVLOR ROMANCE)

Lae'zel and Shadowheart are made for each other. They are my sweet angry baes who really need to take a room and fuck it out of their system. Sorry, I would love each one of them but I just don't dare to come between them. But I will be their cheerleader and be the most embarrassing friend when they finally stop being silly. How sad is it that our companions dont find each other if we dont romance them. They deserve love, and Tav/Durge cant kiss them all!

Halsin who gives the sweetest bear hugs and seems somehow lost in Act 3, and should be kissed and hugged and be given lots of little ducky plushies.

Jaheira who is just the coolest and a damn good friend and gives great (bad) advice and who would share a blunt and a bottle of wine and I would listen to her stories all day, I love her so much. We all should have a Jaheira in our life.

Minsc who also tells the best stories and if you want really good (bad) advice you would ask Boo. He would be the best (worst) wingman, and the no 1 person you go to when you have a bad day. He just makes everything better. When in doubt just go and do some asskicking and everything is good.

How can ONE (1) game have so many wonderful characters, where I want to band almost every single one of them.

A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate MOSAICS!!!!!!!!!!!!omggffggg i wanna learn how to make them so bad.. i love that everything ab it is so deliberate , from tessera color and material to its symbolism & storytelling while still being stochastic in nature . will the stones or glass cut like u wanted , will the pieces lay how u envisioned..ugh..suuch a powerful an awesome medium , and gorgeous to boot T__T

Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically this one was actually rly hard for me bc i feel like im inherently inspired by anything i enjoy but id probably have 2 say SPLATOON!!!!!!!!!!!!! splatoon drives me crazy in the best way and i love everyttthing about it but i cant for the life of me incorporate it into my art. i know there are things i Wish i could do with its different elements, but it feels so separate from my personal style that it becomes difficult to pull from . i lovee it though .. and i love seeing how it manifests in other peoples work

What piece of yours do you think is underrated wait no this one is also rly hardd.. if anything, im more surprised by pieces that do well when im not rly posting w the intention of it doing so LOL but i think .. underrated hmm. i think one of my personalll favorites is my bg3 wyll.. i just lovee the brushwork on that one , the slight color variations ,the blockiness of the strokes + the linework itself was just a lot of fun. i say underrated bc it got 35-50 likes on twitter and instagram btwn pieces with 2,000-9,000 so its funny silly 2 me LMAOO

Indulging in my brainrot again, heres that longer bg3 character design post i was talking about! (@dragonageshitpostingelves, i didnt forget you <3) Also, Spoiler Warning, i talk a lot about the companions backstory and quests, so don't read if you haven't finished those. Or do, I don't care.

Im gonna be honest and admit right now that I am sadly NOT a professional character designer, but instead just a nerd who likes to draw. I think the bg3 designs are amazing as they are and deserve a hell of a lot more praise then their already getting. That being said, i have many opinions about these funny little tadpole people. The first of them being that Gale, Wyll, and Astarion should not look like that. I mean, they all literally have the same body model, just give or take few scars and some hair, then swap the head. Which i think is a little shocking considering that the girls have much more diverse body types. Normally its the other way around.

First, Astarion. I love him, but i should not be able to grate cheese on his abs. Dude was a slave surviving off rats and living in the shadows for over 200 years, he's a rouge with 8 strength and no work out plan other then squatting so he can hide better. The last thing he should have is a six pack. I am a firm believer in scrawny Astarion, that man is wet noodle, he is malnourished and it should show. I should be able to see that mans ribs. Play that boy like a xylophone. This twink is not twinking right now and its driving me insane!

Im not saying he cant be sexy, in fact i think its very important that he is sexy. A big chunk of his story has to do with his relationship with sex and how he views romance as a whole. The whole point of his story is that he seems like the sexy vampier stereotype, but is actually a much more in depth character with a very complicated relationship to sex and romance. He needs to look sexy for that to work. But you don't gotta have a six pack to look sexy! Whenever i see him without a shirt all i can think of is that abs just don't look right on him. Everything else i think they've gotten perfect, he really does look like the character he's supposed to be and i can only applaud Larian for getting it so right, just.. lose the abs.

Second, Gale. I feel like I've already summed up how i feel about his design in my last post, but i like talking so i'm gonna say more! Gale should be chubby!! All he likes to do is ponder his orb, talk to his cat, and study magic. I firmly believe that he also has a side passion for food. After all, what is cooking if not potion brewing but different? Gale can appreciate a good meal and it should show! After all, eating and food is integral to his character with the whole arcane hunger thing he has going on. Give me my dad bod Gale and all wrongs in this world will be righted.

But to be a little more serious about this, i think his story becomes all the more poetic and tragic if you view him as someone who loves food. Because just imagine that you have three things you love, magic, food, and your goddess girlfriend. Now imagine that one day, to impress your goddess girlfriend, you do something kinda really stupid and end up with a magic nuke in your chest. But wait, it gets worse! Because of this failed grand gesture your goddess girlfriend breaks up with and banishes you. She leaves you to deal with this whole thing by yourself, all you have now is your cat and cooking. But wait, it gets even worse!! No matter how much you eat, yu arent ful, so you're constantly starvinng now, and thats how you find out that the bomb in your chest feeds on magic! Which means that now Gale has to ether find a way to keep it fed or he's gonna kamikaze half the swords coast. Meaning he has to eat any magical artifacts he gets his hands on while also dealing with the emotional damage of everything else. Food, one of the only things he had left, is now a stressful reminder of the fucked up situation he's in.

Now I don't think that means Gale starts to hate food, or resent it in some way, I still think he's the adorable little foodie goofball dork who insisted on being the camp cook. But i do think it makes his whole relationship with food something much more bittersweet, which is very interesting and something i feel could be reflected better in his already amazing design.

Third, Wyll. Wyll, I believe, is the most likely to be buff out of these three. Though, I don't think he'd show it as much as he does. We know he likes to dance, and that he enjoys a good sword fight more then anything! He used to fence with his father and overall is a very active guy. He is probably the character that most matches his body, there aren't many things I'd change. That being said, he is still a warlock with less strength then a hamster. He wouldn't be that muscly.

My dude is the son of a Grand Duke, he's had a relatively cushy life that didnt really get all that much harder after his dad gave him the boot (dick move btw). He's struggled, defiantly! But i don't think it'd be a reach to say that Wyll might have a little fat on him. I dont really have much to say other then i think he'd benefit from taking those abs away and putting that bulk somewhere else. When I imagine Wyll I imagine a man with some arm game and a pudgy belly. Maybe some calf muscle too, but overall nothing too defined since he doesn't really use strength in combat. I mean, why does Wyll have more defined abs then Lae'zel? Of all the origin characters she should have the most defined abs of the group. Not these three clowns(affectionate).

Wyll is a softie with a heart of gold, he should get to have a soft body to go with it. Plus it'd add more contrast between what parts are devil and what aren't. Sharp rough horns, a scarred face, and striking but intimidating eyes juxtaposed against a soft but somewhat built frame, quick whit, and a generally nice attitude make for a very interesting design! One that i think would be much more compelling then the kinda default muscly hero build he has now.

Now compare those to the secrete fourth option i didnt tell you about! Halsin! I think Halsin is designed perfectly and there is nothing i would change. He uses a unique body model from the other three and his design perfectly captures who he is as a character. He's big, appropriately buff, and looks kind. I look at that man and i think "yeah, thats a guy who occasionally turns into a bear", and he does! He looks like a natural born leader who knows how to make those tough decisions, he looks as inviting as he acts, and he looks like he gives amazing hugs. Bear hugs if you will! That man is a bear in every sense of the word, and whats more druid then that?

I only really brought him up to set him as sort of a standard for the designs of this game, because almost every single design is just as perfect and well thought out as his. I could go on for several more paragraphs about other characters and why their also perfect, or what other small little changes id make to their designs (cough cough, Lae'zel abs, cough) but this thing is getting long enough as is.

So to conclude. Fuck abs, and get them off my boys! If you've actually read this whole monstrosity, thank you. It took me over half a day to write and i still feel like i haven't touched on everything. Like, i didn't get to praise their designs nearly as much as i wanted to, but oh well. Maybe I'll make another post about the girls, maybe ill ramble about what i do like about the boys designs, i don't know. Depends on if anyone wants that, or if i still got gas left in the tank after this. Finally, please excuse any spelling errors and the inconsistent capitals. Its late, i have dyslexia, and i'll probably go back and fix it later. Thanks again for reading!

Day 1- Regency AU

Holly finished her dance with master Halsin and curtsied. He smiled at her and thanked her for the dance. Holly thanked him back before returning to her friend Shadowheart, who had kept hold of Holly’s dance card. Holly took the dance card from Shadowheart’s wrist, “isn’t that all of them Holly? Have you finally accomplished your goal of dancing with every eligible bachelor here?” She asked giving her friend a wink and a teasing chuckle. Holly laughed back, “let me see…” she says flourishing her dance card to dramatically look it over. “Count Astarion, Duke Wyll, and Master Halsin… that cannot be all, right?” Holly scrunched up her nose and began looking around the ballroom. Shadowheart joined her in her search, her green eyes landing on a silhouetted figure on a nearby balcony. “Ah there he is, Mr. Gale Dekarios, surely you can’t forget him!” She says grabbing holly’s shoulders and using them to spin her around quickly in the gentleman’s direction. Holly scoffed “Mr. Dekarios? Certainly doesn’t hold a candle to titles such as ‘count’ or ‘duke’” she adds looking over her shoulder at her friend. Shadowheart shrugs and simply smiles before pushing her friend further in the direction.

Holly relents, but not before giving Shadowheart a disgruntled face in jest. She makes her way over to the gentleman, canting her hip slightly, she smiles at the man sweetly. “My good sir, I do believe you forgot to sign my dance card. You are in luck, I have one space left!”

Gale glanced at her with a smirk, briefly looking her up and down. “Ah, ms. Holly Mac, you’ve caused quite the stir amongst society! Some are calling you the most beautiful girl on the marriage market… I can confirm the remarks are not unfounded.” He crooned as he held out her hand to her for her card. Holly handed to him, the skin on their index fingers met briefly, where she swore she felt a slight blaze of electricity. Perhaps it wasn’t a bad thing Mr. Dekarios did not go by a formal title.

i cant remember if i posted abt it here, but han and i came up w/ the most galaxy brained tavwyllstarion princess tutu inspired AU. its inspired by it, but its not a direct 1 to 1, and some roles are combined.

the basis is that ulder is a king in a story book, and his kingdom is attacked by a monster bat (cazador) and prince wyll tries to defeat the monster, but only manages to seal it in the castle. in turn, the monster curses wyll to transform into a raven and shatters his memories, so he forgets hes a prince, and only remembers being a bird.

the story is left at a stalemate, so the storyteller (the absolute) sends a puppet (who is my tav, cherish) to give the raven an amulet, so he can transform into the blade to rescue the king and get his memories back. the puppet can only sing tragic ballads that the absolute dictates to him.

astarion is the bat monster's son who's sent to stop wyll from getting his memories back, and to seduce him.

theres a confrontation where astarion cuts cherish's strings, and hes left unable to move or sing until wyll helps restore his hope and cherish gains free will and the ability to sing his own ballads.

mizora lies to wyll to get him to hunt down karlach for her, and when he tells her she lied, she whips out her clauses to say "doesn't matter, I hold the leash". she punishes him for believing her.

she calls him pup, tells him to wag his tail and bark and perform for treats.

and because the narrative sorely underperformed with him, you get to make the biggest choices for him, and the game even gives you the chance to admonish him for it. oh, wyll, you agreed with my decision to let your father die so you wouldn't be bound to zariel forever? sucker.

mizora gleefully fights to ensure wyll never had any agency in anything, ever, and treats him like a little toy she's lending to you, but don't forget, he belongs to her.

lots of talk about gale being a victim of grooming, which is good. grooming often starts when you're a child, and that's what happened to gale. but there's been, like, 0 talk about wyll being a victim of manipulation and grooming himself, and i reckon that's because you can fuck mizora, because surely it cant be for any other reason, right? right.

love how much discussion there is about how Mystra groomed Gale. Hate that there is 0 discussion about how Mizora took advantage of Wyll as a teenager and has continued to be a predatory creep that takes advantage of him.
