Bayonetta 3, I still got questions
like I can buy that Bayonetta from Bayo 3 is not the one from 1&2 I get that, that’s fine but there’s some other things that bug me with this timeline like why would Bayonetta from the 3rd game even call herself  “Bayonetta?” if we’re going from the bayo 1 timeline where she got sent back and is strong enough to fight along side with Jeanne when that place got attacked, did she still got put in the box? did the events from bayo 1 still happen? Personally I would like if Bayonetta from the 3rd game DIDN’T have amnesia and she called herself Cereza, she knows who she is now, like the main reason why Bayonetta calls herself that in the first game is cause she didn’t knew who she was and gave herself that name, Bayonetta from the 3rd game doesn’t strike me like that at all, she knows who she is and she even still wears her hair like she had it when she was younger so if anything she would call herself Cereza and maybe be like
“Oh well you can also call me Bayonetta cause that's what my mummy called herself”
Cereza would probably grow up thinking that bayo 1 was her mom and not like an older version of herself, ALSO WHILE WE’RE ON THE TOPIC! Wouldn’t like Bayonetta/Cereza ask why the FUCK does Viola does have a demon/HER OWN FUCKING STUFFED TOY named Cheshire?!? Like I know some shit gets ignored or not talked about for plot but that is just to big to ignore I feel like she would at lest point it out or kept giving it a glance at the very least, this is like her childhood toy that her mother made herself and gave to her she be like “How the HELL did you get this” At the very lest.
If Bayonetta in this timeline was gonna end up with Luka of all people (And I will never not hate but if we gotta do this) it would have been nice if we got more seen of them being fleshed out to see what kind of relationship they have in this timeline, like I can’t go off of there relationship from like the last to games cause THERE IS JUST NOTHING THERE, yes she playfully fucks with him in first game but its mostly banter, she just messes with him cause she has tits and knows how to use them to make him flustered to shut him up and the 2nd game? they are just friends she doesn’t even fuck with him as much as she did in the first time, the 3rd game this is a whole new timeline with a “new” Bayo and Luka ATLEST GIVE ME SOMETHING instead of this whole “we where always meant to be together” bullshit, srsly fuck off with that. .... Also wouldn’t Bayonetta 3 bayo still have the left of darkness? or like did 2 get rid of them in all timelines?

That what if when ms. moon already has a family but has to leave because of him is so HEARTBREAKING. Imagine moving on from a tramatic situation, meeting the love of your life, having a wonderful kid for all that to just get squashed in a instant. That literally had me about to tear up but imagine her kid was a bit older lets say like 10 (i know the math doesnt add up well with the timeline but its a what if)and then she just has to leave, that alone would greatly negatively impact the kid, just leaving a lasting mark. Maybe the kid would remember gojo’s face and resent him for the rest of their life.
The husband thing is equally as sad because I imagine ms.moon as shes about to leave crying and whispering how much she loves him and that shes so sorry. (Bonus heartbreak points they all breakdown as shes about to leave and she cant even hug or kiss them goodbye because shes being watched). After this incident ms.moon’s pervious family completes spiral down the drain and moon’s mental state goes down the drain with it
In conclusion amazing story but that shit was sad as fuck but I still eat it up with silverware and all
(merging multiple SEM asks cuz i feel so guilty for clogging up ppls dashes lmao)
ughhhh anytime kids are involved it just gets way more depressing, right? It think age 8-10 is like the worst time for this to this to happen because the kid can understand little, but not enough to get the whole picture.
The kid knows that their mom is leaving, but they aren't seeing the wavering tears in Ms.moon's eyes, the shaky hands, as you hug them for the last time. All that they can see is the fancy new car your new lover sits in. The grand ring that sits on your finger. Yeah, your kid will hate gojo for ripping apart your family.
But they'll hate you more, considering you're running off with a man who has more money than their father.
I think the only upside is that gojo might not bat an eye if you send money back to your family, keeping them comfortable. With enough pleading, he might pull a few string to get your kid into a good school. With your indirect help, your kid will have the best education and prosperity. Them resenting you is a pretty small price to pay, right?
Tumblr media
in the fic, the case took about three weeks, so it took three weeks for gojo to just snap.
He would definetly try to toy with ms.moon for as long as he can. Despite claiming that he forgave ms.moon, he does carry a tiny bit of resentment. It's kind of a punishment, in that sense.
And honestly the moment he figures out you who are, I doubt you'd have a chance to run anymore. The reason why Ms.moon was able to 'get away' the first time was because gojo was still a teenager, hier of the gojo conglomerate, but still not powerful yet. Now, he has tons of resources available for him. You're not getting away lmao, I think that's why he's so much at ease this time around.
Tumblr media
I never really considered the family's response. their reactions is something I'm not really interested in exploring. i don't think they got any characterization other than 'housewife mom' and 'dad who works'. I don't really think ms.moon would even mention gojo's torment to them. It'd be embarrassing, knowing that some kid the same age as you is just lording over your life, right? I did mention that Gojo confronts your family in EKM, but I don't like that addition now, so I'm retconning it. I feel like they'd find out just like everyone else did: From the media. Everyone in your little town knew who the Gojo was, but the fact that their kid is getting married to one of them has so be surprising.
But then again, not something im interested in exploring
Tumblr media
If Gojo had managed to find Ms. Moon before, things would certainly have been much different. The gojo now has 'cooled down' and is far less volatile. If they had met again, if they were in their early twenties....things would not be much different from his high school counterpart.

The leaks are real but something just feels off about the chapter itself. While we’ve seen in a previous flashback(forgot which one), that Overhaul was very likely to be one of the orphan children prior to joining the Yakuza, it’s just the overall flow of the chapter just makes it seem unsatisfying and resulting in plot holes. Like AFO considered training teenagers to be his double but it seems rather forced to ask Kotaro to have another child and Hana doesn’t seem to reached double digits. Or copying the Overhaul Quirk and making decay out of it would mean that Afo and Garaki could’ve fixed the former’s issues unless Touya destroyed it by accident. And then there’s the situation where technically, only Bakugo won while every other student didn’t achieve their goals(Shoto, Ochaco and Izuku) and that chapter 420 is going to match a certain someone’s birthday.
It actually would make sense though to have the side characters beat AFO but having the other fights not mentioned yet be done off screen is still unsatisfying.
We know that in real life, Hori has health issues due to working with Shonen Jump and having the Dragon Ball creator die last month is very likely to make things more somber. I’m not going to be surprised if he had someone else draw some pages(unless the change in artstyle somehow is a plot point).
Isn’t MHA Izuku’s retelling of the events to someone? Overhaul or Eri are likely to be the Macguffins to give Izuku his arms back given what we’ve seen with Eri earlier so we’re going to have some chapters of celebration of the “win” and a small epilogue.
At least we have fan fiction since it’s very likely that people will ignore the ending.
Yeah this chapter feels soooo off! And dont let me start talking about all the plot holes and how a single chapter managed to destroy over the years built up plotpoints. Like you said WHY would afo and garaki not use the overhaul copy on afo to heal him ESPICIALLY because afo told garaki once "then hurry up and fix me doctor" after garaki mentioned that they havent found a fitting regeneration quirk yet and you are telling me THEY WOULDNT USE THE OVERHAUL COPY TO ARCHIVE THAT??? It was made clear afo wanted to get back to full health but he doesnt use the quirk that could fix him in ONE MINUTE??? Or an other plot hole: afo somehow (dont show just tell) managed to convince the shimuras to have an other child because he considered hana to old to get manipulated DESPITE that he owns orphanages full of children older then or around hanas age even TEENAGE touya and chisaki he considered as fitting vessels if tomura shouldnt work out but HANA was to old??? This is literally retconning what was already confirmed as facts!
And about bakugou: well he is horis golden child so OF COURSE only he is allowed to win since his character is all about winning. And unlike izuku, ochako and shoto he had ZERO emotional connection to afo. No deep. No feelings. Just to give bakugoubitch a win by giving the bad guy the final killing blow, immediately praised for doing so as if afo wasnt already half dead and severly weakend by dotzens of other heroes before who did so much more but BAKUGOU gets the praise (to be fair he did say it was a group effort but he still was the one who was praised first as if he did it all alone)! The ironic thing is bakugou did exactly what he always does: winning by killing. How ironic. Just a few chapters before we got afos backstory which revealed he was a victim of society too but I guess simply killing these kind of people changes everything to the better. Their society will not change. There will just show up an other afo or tomura at one point. Bakugou was allowed to beat and kill the main villain he had no relationship with but izuku, ochako and shoto are not allowed to safe their villain counterparts they actually have a relationship with. I mean its very possible that toga is alive because she is nowhere to be found, but touya even if he survives made clear he will never forgive his family and most likely ending terrible disabled (except if deux ex machine eri will be used here as well) and izuku who FINALLY was able to reach tomura has to watch how he gets destroyed by afo. The leaks say afo completly destroyed tomuras mind so that means he is pretty much dead and only his body remains which is now in afos full control. No final confrontation between afo and yoichi. Nope yoichi is just gone and afo doesnt even look that pissed off about it.
There are fights completly left out. We dont really see any of the other students fight, we just get told they won. We dont see the confrontation between aizawa, mic and kurogiri and just need to accept they eventually reached him and if anything we will only get a small flashback of the events. Its so disappointing and lame. It feels like as if hori just wants to end the manga as fast as possible so he uses his beloved "tell dont show" way of writing.
About horis health issues. I get that. As a huge bleach fan I was so dissapointed how rushed the last arc of bleach was but I was able to understand why. Kubo had health issues too and was forced by shonen jump to end the manga in 10 chapters. No one was more pissed off about that but kubo and if he had been healthy bleach would have lasted at least for an other year. But with hori it feels different. It feels like as if he really just wants to end the whole thing because he lost his interest. The last few arcs have been not really well written. I dont know if akira toriyamas sudden death plays a role in this disaster of a chapter. I get that it was a shock for the manga world. I get that mangakas loved the guy. But maybe instead of rushing the plot and retconning already built plot points hori should just have taken a long break to get himself together if it really affected him that much AND to get rest. Toriyama still lives through his work and will inspire many new mangakas for the comming 50 years or more.
By the way Im not worried about izukus arms at all. Its obvious eri will get used as the deux ex machine to restore them. If its not her then overhaul but Im pretty positiv she will heal izuku. The thing is even if izuku gets finally his confrontation with afo its clear he will win and afo will die.... again. Wow, how creativ. The only thing I hope is that if dfo is canon then izuku will somehow reach afo to get at least a little bit of emotion in that fight and will convince him to let tomura go if there is still a chance to safe him. Im still to 100% sure dfo is canon by the way but I dont think it will have an statisfying outcome and will be rushed as hell.
All in all this was a very dissapointing outcome. I know the manga is not over yet so hori could still surprise us, but I dont have much hope left for a good and well written ending of the story. I really need to stop praising hori when he writes a REALLY good chapter like the one before, because everytime I do that the very next chapter is a pile of shit!
Sorry, if I sound so aggressive and harsh by the way, but this chapter really pissed me off. The ONLY thing I liked about it is the fact that its to 100% confirmed that afo can change his appearance which is a huge win for dfo. Also sorry for the rant and for possible gramatic errors but I wrote this whole thing in a hurry and most likely left a few dotzen things out that pissed me off. 😅

Since you watched Hazbin hotel, you maybe have watched Helluva Boss too. I have a question, cause im curious.
Do you think that Stolas's marriage was retconned to victimize him?
So I'm going to swerve this at first to just talk about the fact that what they did with Stolas is nothing new, it's just essentially twin tropes smashing together at the same time. Both are ways people use family to humanize someone, and in a broader context two ways in general used to humanize someone. His daughter is essentially "Save the Cat" where by showing a gentler, warmer, more caring side of himself, we know there's nobility in him which can paint some of his better actions in a kinder light. Meanwhile, his wife shows the pressure and cruelty upon him, the way life crushes him, that makes his crueler actions seem perhaps more like coping mechanisms. It's like giving an alcoholic a tragic backstory so you understand that he doesn't drink himself to oblivion because it's fun for him and he doesn't care about the harm it does to others but because he needs it to survive and function at all, at least in his eyes.
Neither of these tropes are bad either. Done with less awful character traits, you get stuff like the silly person who covers their trauma by being over the top and maybe ignoring reality more than they should. I myself literally used saving a cat as a way to humanize my noble main character in Little Miss Rich Witch because while she was dismissive of others and seem annoyed at many people's actions, now she was willing to hurt herself by reaching into a bush of brambles and help a kitten find safety. It theoretically can help assure the reader that a better person is under there and going to emerge eventually.
...Which brings us back to Stolas. Now the first thing I have to mention is that you're actually incorrect. I have not watched Hazbin but I mention a lot of shows that I've seen enough analysis, discussion, etc. for and feel comfortable enough mentioning some broadstroke elements that resonate with what I'm discussing. I HAVE seen some of Helluva Boss but ended it on the episode where Blitzo and Moxxie get kidnapped so I'm not ignorant on these subjects but I didn't really see when life went to complete shit for Stolas...
And I do not give a fuck because neither of these tropes function when there is no better man to speak of. I mentioned Rich Witch not just as self promotion but because of a REALLY important element that fails with his daughter: Follow through. Azu, the noble girl, puts herself in danger of breaking the rules because her busy schedule means that in order to bring the kitten to a shelter, she first has to bring it to school the next day. Then we find out that while she's tsundere about the reasons for working there and doesn't think animals like her, she actually volunteers at that same shelter so this is hardly the first animal she's saved in some way. This makes what is essentially virtue signalling an actual part of the fucking character. Stolas on the other hand, in the SAME EPISODE that we introduced to Octavia, has seemingly neglected his daughter's interests and the fact that she's been growing up for roughly a decade. Hell, even then, he still hires his boytoy to guard them so he can focus on being horny than his daughter and on other childish pleasures that he enjoys. So... Yeah, he gets a really sweet song with her but it's hardly like that's some small nugget smoldering at the core of his character as that fire burned out long ago.
Which brings us to his wife. Hey, why does the alcoholic have a tragic backstory instead of saying, "I beat my wife because she's a bitch and that's why I drink"? It's because the latter doesn't feel like a justified response. At that point, you are a horrible human being with little care for others, you're just bitching and moaning so that you can justify your terrible behavior. This is what Stolas is doing to his wife. "You're a bitch so I openly, confidently, CONSTANTLY cheat on you with someone I do not actually act like I give a fuck about except for his dick because otherwise show him basic human decency." At that point, the only reason the show manages to frame Stolas' wife as worse than him is because she never gets a song with Octavia so it comes across like only one tried to be a good parent before things went to hell and... That's just narrative bias, not strict fact. Not from what I saw.
These tropes only work when there is a better man underneath it all. There is no better man to Stolas. It's akin to how Blitzo has this tragic backstory, life has clearly dealt him a terrible hand... And he's just a complete horrid monster when it comes to those around him. Moxxie despises him for what he does to his privacy, his boundaries and his own personal life and for what? Because Blitzo gets off on it? Luna is a trying too hard goth chick and she isn't actually that mean or cruel or the like. Not even the fucking succubi that act as an antagonist for an episode are as bad to their people as Blitzo is to his and that's without getting into how that episode's proper antagonist is actually Blitzo, both because of past actions and present.
There is at no point, besides shallow backstory (which as always, backstory does not actually a character make because their present actions matter WAY MORE), where we really have a reason to think there's good people in there anymore. That's also why I dropped the show. I wanted to continue but it clearly was going to focus on its worst characters rather than anyone with an ounce of likability. Or, better yet, anything actually compelling about them several episodes into the series besides "Uwu, look at my tragedy while I harass the people around me."
I'm sorry, that just makes you the asshole. See you next tale.
======+++++======
I had initially considering answering this privately since I don't know all the nuances about Blitzo's marriage... But also I watched 7 episodes (including the pilot), more than twice as many as most people tell you is a fair shake, and these were my impressions. At that point... Sorry, you have an uphill battle to prove your sexual harassment in story is somehow justified. The CONSTANT sexual harassment that is not just because they're in hell since Moxxie and Millie prove you don't have to be like this. It's still a choice.

Purgatory, sleeping through the first night -
qsmp, /rp (feat. small selection of guys I had specific mental images about)
There’s a space left open next to Antoine but it won’t be filled for a while at least. Etoiles is too pent up and busy to sleep, he’s strategizing, he’s leaving to fuel the furnaces and pace. Like Etoiles, Fit has a tenuous relationship with sleep even on Quesadilla Island, and they’re not on Quesadilla Island. Fit is generally having a grand old time, but he will not be sleeping tonight, not in a lawless death arena surrounded by other people, that’s not happening. So both of them are propped up against the walls of their underground base, and they're texting Phil.
Phil is stressed. Phil is afraid. They kept saying shit about the eggs and some mystical bullshit and now there’s a death game and they’re pitted against each other and reality works differently here, Phil knows how to build something from wild nothing but not here and he hasn’t had to fucking do it in a long time, alright, and it’s scary, every time. Okay? It’s scary every time!
The first day’s work kept his mind busy, at least. But he sits in his little shelter with his friends piled around him, asleep, and thoughts like is this real start poking through. He asks how Etoiles is feeding everyone. Fit sends him some tips on crafting. Soon he is messaging them like a lifeline.
(Bad has not slept in weeks. He has no need to start now. Don’t worry, go to bed, he tells Tubbo. I'll keep watch. Bad keeps an eye on the minimap all night. But it’s pretty quiet. He considers trekking to the other bases for a little tomfoolery. But there’ll be plenty of time for that later.)
Roier is affectionate and loves to cuddle. Forever does too, but he's subdued. He’s still weak and he winces when things touch his partially-healed burns, or when the water’s too cold or the sharp bamboo leaves rake at his skin. Roier kills mobs for him and forces cooked fish into his hands, get you better faster, yeah? At night, Roier sends Cellbit pictures of them cuddled up, to show him they’re alright and to say wish you were here.
All of Phil’s people are scared. Most of them are not hardened survivalists the way Phil is. Curious detective Cellbit left the island bloodstained and with a strange gleam in his eyes, he’s been going through some shit, clearly, and now they’re here, so.
The only way he seems ready to relax is curled up close to Phil, like Phil is the only one he can feel safe around. Phil lets him keep his eyes on him, what else is he going to do? No skin off Phil's back. Cellbit texts with Roier for a while, then tries to sleep, ends up spending longer just staring at his communicator until he’s finally asleep or at least trying, again, again.
(We could retcon Mike as being there this whole time. In which case – maybe still out of it, maybe still feeling complicated about Fit, but that’s complicated rather than strictly negative. And he doesn’t know where Pac is and he’s not used to sleeping alone. Forever’s there and he’s family, so that’s a fine option. Or alternatively - Fit lets Mike lie beside him, as he and Etoiles mutter about strategies and smother laughter late into the night. Lit up by the screens of their communicators. Full circle again.)
(*I guess the vibes are more pinpointed on "like halfway through day 1" but it's minecraft time. whatever.)

WELCOME!
WHAT IS ‘WHAT COULD BE WORTH ETERNITY,?
What Could Be Worth Eternity?, or wcbwe for short, is an art/storytelling project of mine! I currently have a comic (very early stage) in-the-works, as well as some writing and other art pieces. In short, wcbwe is what I call the original universe that holds a number of stories and characters I want to share!
OH, SO THIS BLOG IS FOR THAT COMIC?
………not exactly, unfortunately. The comic is still very early in its production, and as the only person working on it, progress is slow going. I think taking the extra time will be worth it in the end, but I’m biased lol. As it stands, this blog is not specifically for the comic in the works, but when I am ready to start posting pages, this is where it’ll happen!
…ALRIGHT. THEN WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS BLOG? WHY THE COUNTDOWN, IF THE BIG PROJECT ISN’T GOING TO BE READY FOR A WHILE?
Wait, countdown? For anyone who doesn’t know, for about two months, I was doing a… daily, countdown on my main blog, and it ended today, 2023.08.28, the day this blog goes up.
To be honest – the countdown wasn’t for this. In fact I’m writing out this lil intro post the day it’s supposed to go up while at work haha! I am incredibly unprepared. The countdown was to something at work (that never ended up happening, to my knowledge), I think we were supposed to do some sort of… media blackout? Like I said, it didn’t happen, so it doesn’t really matter. But, well, a couple of my moots saw the countdown and got curious, and I thought ‘well I should do something on tumblr, too!’. So here we are. Art blog! Yup, this is an art (and sometimes writing) blog centered around the wcbwe universe. Right now the plan is to update every Monday, but that’s subject to change because I have no clue what my uni schedule is yet XD
YEAH YEAH COOL. GO BACK TO THAT COMIC FOR A MINUTE?
Ah yes. The comic. My pride and joy, should I actually manage to stick with the project. Like I said, it’s still very early in its production; only the prologue and first chapter have been scripted, and only half the prologue has been storyboarded. And it’s going to be a very long comic, so that’s not a lot. I’d prefer to have the whole thing, or almost the whole thing, storyboarded before I start making pages. If you want an estimate? I’d say it’ll be about a year or more before I can start posting pages.
OKAY, SO IF YOU WEREN’T PREPARED TO START THIS BLOG, WHY DO IT?
Well, there’s no time like the present! I need somewhere to organize my thoughts and concepts for the universe, story, and characters, and I’m hoping having a dedicated blog might motivate me to sort out my ideas haha.
*INSERT FANCY LIL PROGRESS BAR HERE*
Wow! What was the progress again? Not to worry! I’ll keep the progress updated here :]
scripted up to chapter 4
21/? pages storyboarded
0/? pages completed
IF THIS IS AN ART BLOG, WHAT KIND OF ART WILL YOU BE POSTING?
In short, anything wcbwe related! Digital art, traditional art, short writing things, animations, concept art, storyboard sketches, etc. etc. Anything I make that has to do with the wcbwe universe will end up on here eventually! Not all of it will be Quality Art TM lol
ALRIGHT, BUT WHAT’S THE STORY ABOUT?
I don’t want to get too into spoilers, especially since I don’t have most of the plot ironed out yet. Up until the comic’s production is further along, the main focus here will be on worldbuilding and designs. With that said – you might be able to put together pieces of the plot with the art provided! I’ve got a couple big pieces coming up that have some kinda major spoilers. I just don’t want to actually talk about the plot things until I know what I’m doing. With that in mind, some art might end up getting retconned in the final production. Though, there’ll be a liiiiiiiitle plot sneak peak at the end of this post. Very small :p (it comes with art!)
ASKS ARE WELCOME!
Idk haha, if you’ve got anything to say, or any questions, drop an ask! It might take me some time to answer or I might want to save it for whatever reason, but I’ll answer eventually! Oh – asks are exempt from the Monday Updates btw! I’ll answer them whenever I answer them :3
…oh yeah I should probably mention. C a t s. (also tags are in the. tags-)
Without further ado – welcome to What Could Be Worth Eternity? Let’s dive in.

FNAF Movie :^)
Just watched it and I wanna write down my thoughts.
First bit of this post is mostly spoiler-free, I'll put spoilers under the read more.
If you're a fan and you're planning on watching it anyway, DO NOT READ ANYTHING ABOUT IT. TL;DR: it's good, we've waited so long for this, you'll enjoy it, don't spoil it for yourself :^)
First of all, I really enjoyed it. It felt very genuine, like it was made for the fans. Despite having a couple scares, it wasn't really scary. People who just wanna watch a horror film but don't really care for FNAF might be a bit disappointed there. Though as a FNAF fan, it's exactly what I hoped it would be tone-wise. It has a horror theme to it but doesn't take itself too seriously. It's pretty funny too, and has a lot of references to various things from the games and community (I'll elaborate in the spoilery bit).
There's a lot of small details sprinkled in throughout the movie, and I definitely missed some of them. I'll probably be rewatching it asap whenever it's available online.
Spoilers below (I have a lot to say about the lore) \/
FINAL SPOILER WARNING, IF YOU MISCLICKED, LOOK AWAY NOW. I WILL BE SPOILING THE FNAF MOVIE !!!!
I'm very interested about the canon of this movie. Although it seems like an adaptation of the first game, the plot and some major characters are very different. Game canon has always been pretty unclear but this movie contradicts a lot of what we thought we knew. It could be a retcon, or it be its own movie canon (that the potential movie sequels will follow). I'm very curious about the theories that people will have about it.
Here's some major points:
Mike Schmidt is Mike Schmidt, not a pseudonym for Michael Afton. Does Michael Afton even exist?? Who knows. Either way, William Afton immediately recognises his surname and immediately offers him the Freddy's job upon reading it. This could be because he knew Mike's brother, though I would've assumed that William was just killing random kids during MCI. Specifically picking Mike for the job due to this connection was very interesting. Also, what happened to Garrett? Like, yeah, William killed him, but he's not one of the ghost kids.
Abby / Vanessa -- who even is Elizabeth Afton?? The general theory before the movie came out was that Abby was the movie version of Elizabeth. Name is an anagram of Baby, she's Mike's sister, etc. But we now know that Mike and Abby are not William's children. Instead, Vanessa is William's daughter. It sort of makes sense, Elizabeth has been portrayed with blonde hair before and there is a loose connection between Security Breach Vanessa and Elizabeth. (Her actress is also Elizabeth Lail...) The timeline also lines up, Vanessa/Elizabeth was a child in the 80s, since the FNAF movie is set in 2000. One small problem though... Vanessa is alive. Is Elizabeth actually Vanessa's sister that died in the 80s, similar to what happened to Mike's brother? Why does William blame the missing children incident on Vanessa during the final confrontation? I have no idea. I'm really curious to see how this all connects.
There's a weird previously unseen springlock suit in the storage room??? It almost looks like an early version of Baby, based on the face... And Abby almost gets placed into it. Interesting.
I gotta refresh myself on the game lore, I do wonder how much of the game lore still makes sense if you assume the movie is also canon. Maybe the Schmidt family (Mike, Abby, Garrett) can work as the Afton children (Michael, Elizabeth, Crying Child) with William Afton actually having a different family to what we assumed (Vanessa). Though, assuming movie Vanessa is the same as game Vanessa, with Security Breach taking place likely 25-35 years after the events of the movie (which was confirmed to be in 2000), she would be in her 40s / 50s in SB. Maybe she just looks young for her age ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I suppose it's possible that in the 2030s, an unrelated woman who looks strikingly similar to Afton's daughter just decided to work for Freddy's. Maybe Afton controlled SB Vanessa because she reminds him of his daughter. Who knows.
Moving on from the lore, here's some other things I wanted to mention:
Chica's magic rainbow in the mall
The diner that MatPat works at is named Sparky's (reference to the Sparky dog hoax from early fnaf days)
Also... MATPAT IS IN THE MOVIE. And he says something like "Lunch is more important than breakfast, but that's just a theory." (or the other way round)
Dream theory being a book and major plot point
After the credits, there's a robotic voice reading out letters (similar to that one fnaf minigame). At first I thought it read something like HOME (I didn't quite hear the rest). But it could just have been SAVE THEM or HELP THEM like in the minigames. EDIT: After rewatching this part, it definitely says "COME FIND ME".
They actually played TLT's FNAF song in the credits.
There's some loose parallels to things that happen in the books, like foxy for Abby around arcade machines, similar to what happened to Charlie in The Silver Eyes.
Balloon Boy toy jumpscares were hilarious.
The animatronics teaming up to build a fort for Abbie was hilarious.
I just love how goofy this movie was in some parts...
The ending does establish some plot points for the sequel with Willy getting springlocked and Mike telling Abbie "you never know what may happen" when she asks to return to Freddy's.
What happened to the aunt's body?? Like, the people who broke in got stuffed so they are accounted for. Presumably golden freddy didn't take the aunt's body when he and Abby went back to Freddy's. So did Mike and Abby come back home to their dead aunt lying on the floor????
They used the profanity budget for the movie's age rating to let the pharmacist call Mike an asshole. Love it.
WILLIAM ALWAYS COMES BACK
But Cupcake was the real villain all along.
That's all I remember for now. I might edit this later if I remember more. Very cool movie :^) 👍👍

Been thinking about HS2, as you do. And to be honest, I have no idea how we got here. I mean I know a bunch of shit happened to Hussie over the debacle of the game. But how did we get to HS2. Like, it hates you. HS2 reads like it hates the reader, it hates homestuck, it hates the reader for enjoying homestuck. I would call it misery porn, but even misery porn has some sort of catharsis. Some kind of release. HS2 does not. Its just an anon telling you to kill yourself, over and over for the length of the Epilogue and HS2 up to this point. The former team members, are allegedly, the progressive leftist type, yeah? So why did they decide to kill Rosemary, the fandoms pet lesbian ship? The one thing that would get thousands of screeching people telling you to kill yourself if you dared ship rose or kanaya with anyone other then themselves? Why did they make so many characters act out of character, why kill so many? Why introduce so many uncomfortable kinks? Why did they make dog dick jade canon? And call it the trans rep? Aint these people supposed to be allies? Supposed to care about the LGBTHDTV+? Supposed to be part of the alphabet people themselves? How? Why? Spite? It certainly seems so. HS2 seems like it was written from a place of spite, just sheer derision for the material and the author. Maybe Hussie planned this, maybe he hated his own creation and the fans of it, maybe the team did this of their own volition? I dont know, I doubt we ever will. How can Roach write the story like this? I dont know too much about him. I dont have a reason to trust him, but I dont have a reason to distrust him either. But giving him the benefit of the doubt, Id say that he's passionate about Homestuck and wants to bring it to a good place, but how do you do that? How do you bring something from a place of sheer hatred into a place of passion? Without retcons or denouncing the things that came before? I have no doubt that he's under NDA's out the ass, probably has some "non slander" clauses in his contract as well, since you obviously just cant bad mouth the previous team, even if they deserve it. Still, I am just at a sheer loss of how the comic can be turned around with this development. I know Im going to be following it, is it possible for an IP to give you Stockholm Syndrome? Because no matter how bad Homestuck gets, I cant give it up. Theres still more blood and bodies to be found in this train wreck. I dunno, sorry for the rant, but you're really the only other blogger I feel I can vent shit about homestuck towards. Lots of the people I knew before dropped out, or I lost contact when my first blog got obliterated.
It's alright. I know what you mean and have similar feelings as well about all this. There are other fandoms and interests that have similar cases of going back to your abusive lover because you had liked what they were before. Just look at comic book fans, Disney fans, Pokemon fans, RWBY fans, etc. Homestuck's case is that the effort to contribute anything to it is just tiring. Other series have similar themes of nihilism and dark topics. But the fans there are able to make great fan works despite such depressing tone. Was it because the execution of those lets audiences have a choice to give a better outlook on things while Homestuck denies us this? Maybe. It's hard to pinpoint where had it all gone wrong or why it still continuing. Even if somehow Roach is able to salvage it, the damage has been done that it will take a long long time to really forgive and forget. Though with the downward spiral of this current generation, they'll probably be lucky to rope in new fans to enjoy that small high before they move on to something new and better.

What would you say the age gaps are between characters? Like for naoya and y/n, and y/n and Hinata? I thought that y/n and naoya were around the same age, maybe he was a grade a over her or two, but I just read a line that states that "Lastly, you were a 1st grade student when he was in his last year at school," did you mean like, first grade as in first year student at jujutsu? Or like,,, lit first grade student. Also ugh this story is so good, read in one of the authors notes that it's your first fic and that is just, WOW. You're doing amazing, this really is awesome.
Hello!!!
Aaaaa that's probably me ruining the timeline AGAIN jfc...
Anyways, you're supposed to be 1 year younger than Naoya. Hinata 1 year older than him, and your brother 2 years older than him.
Hinata and Y/N have a two year gap (the same gap she has with Gojo—he has the same age as Hinata). Y/N and Ren have a 4 year gap.
Their birthyears go like this:
1991 Y/N
1990 Naoya, Nanami.
1989 Hinata, Gojo.
1987 Ren.
I'm not sure what I was thinking when writing that phrase... but what most likely happened is that as the story went on, I further developed the timeline, or certain details got more intricate. I already went back to edit it to avoid confusions :> (This is actually one of my fears... Like, writing something that would be retconned in the future BY MY OWN MERIT GAHJKGHASJKGHAKS 😭 I'm so, so genuinely sorry for these confusions. I guess it's super obvious now that this is my first fic hahahah)
But yeah, I meant it as it was her first year at jujutsu high :) Naoya and Y/N met during an exchange event, (not hers tho, because first years aren't supposed to participate... I think) She invited Y/N just to show off haha. The only reason why Naoya participated given his grade, is because he insisted that he must, so to make things a bit more fair, they also invited the first years from Tokyo. And the rest is history.
Can't wait to write how they met. I am a bit nervous, feeling like I've been hyping this moment for quite a while now, so I just hope I'll be able to deliver 😭
And thank you so much for your kind words 🥺 I'm glad that even with these small discrepancies here and there you're still able to enjoy my work!!!! I know there's a lot of things that I can probably improve on, and I might get to it in the future.... but still, to know that my work is appreciated/enjoyable makes me very, very happy. So, thank you 🥺💖💖💖💖💖💖
If you have any more questions just let me know! I'm always happy to further detail more aspects about my fic hehehe (I'll do my best to answer them without spoilers, tho. So no sneaky asks 🤭🤭)
Take care and hope to see you soon!!

It would be... remarkably depressing if RWBY was cancelled post-Volume 8 but pre-Volume 9. I wouldn't put it past Warner Bros. Discovery, per se, given the number of finished/near-finished projects that they've canned recently, but thinking about the situation the world and our heroes are in post-Volume 8... whew, lordy.
A Kingdom lost forever. Two others still recovering with no reliable way of reaching out to offer assistance to anyone. Two Relics in Salem's hands. Our protagonists - including both team leaders - trapped in an alternate world. There is hope, but it's so small as to be horrendously bleak.
I think I mentioned in another ask that there's a part of me that would like a post-Volume 8 conclusion better without the Volume 9 trailer. Because I agree that yeah, either version of that ending is depressing as hell and, crucially, not what RWBY was aiming for. Wild theories aside, I don't think anyone can persuasively argue that RWBY is supposed to end with the heroes loosing and Salem successfully dooming the world. For all its missteps, RWBY does not have that vibe, is not deliberately forwarding that message, and it has never implied that it wants a grimm-dark conclusion.
But if we HAVE to end post-Volume 8, I would have preferred a story that (inadvertently) committed to the horror it's introduced rather than hinting at a bunch of hopeful ideas--Ruby meets a helpful mouse! The girls presumably reunite! There are new enemies to recruit! They'll inevitably return and face Salem again!--that we simply never get to see because the show is cancelled. It's certainly not what the show intends, but there is (to me) something compelling about such a bleak ending. I'm a fan of horror and tragedy in a general sense, but more than that, RWBY has been toeing a line it's been too afraid to commit to. Yang looses a limb, but they're not interested in exploring the complexities of that. There's world-wide racism, slave labor, and branded enemies, but that's all solved by the occasional speech. The heroes just spent two volumes rejecting compromise at every turn, doomed a kingdom, and one protagonist mercy-killed a fan-favorite by slitting her throat... and if we get Volume 9, all of that will no doubt be hand-waved away too. There's something compelling in getting an ending that unintentionally highlights all the things RT doesn't want to admit that they wrote. Oh look, the story ends with the heroes failing spectacularly because of all the stupid decisions they've made lately, validating every fan who has gone, "They're making really stupid decisions lately." There's no longer any retcons, plot armor, or straight up, incomprehensible writing decisions to "fix" what's been in the story for 5+ years now. I won't pretend a part of me isn't satisfied with an ending that actually follows what wound up on the screen: Yang dies making the same mistake she made with Adam because she never actually learned how to control her impulsive temper. The other girls die too because they're not nearly as powerful as they arrogantly thought and their desire to get by on Just Being The Good Guys resulted in the enemy (once again) one-upping them. The citizens all die in the desert because, as seen, our protagonists never thought through how to keep them safe. And Salem wins because she's an immortal witch and the heroes have done nothing in those five Volumes to figure out how to stop her. Of course she wins.
This ending makes sense. Not based on what RT wanted RWBY to be, but based on what they actually wrote.
But, of course, it's also an ending 99% of the fandom would hate. I only like it because I desire consistency in my storytelling. I don't want a depressing RWBY ending, I want a RWBY that makes sense... and unfortunately, right now, the writing has introduced so many inconsistencies and insurmountable obstacles that a bleak ending is the most persuasive. If RT had done the work from the beginning--figuring out if they wanted a light-hearted show or one seeped in trauma, crafting a villain our heroes were capable of beating, writing the girls as consistently empathetic, intelligent fighters who balanced strategy with strength--I would never even entertain the idea of being satisfied with ending the show now. But RWBY has gone on so long with so many problems that I can't help going, "You know what? Yeah, it would suck for most of the fandom and I'd feel really sorry for them all if that happened, but I'd personally be satisfied in a 'I was expecting so much less' sort of way."

LOQUACIOUS IS SUCH A GOOD WORD I WANNA SEE THAT ONE PLSSSS
AHHHH YEAH!!
so loquacious is an exploratory piece that i wrote in the hell year (2020) when i was just beginning to think i should shift vdtrt into what it is now. it wasn’t even CLOSE to where it is today BUT i was definitely thinking about softening gabe up—gabe actually used to be much angrier and gruffer in earlier versions of his character but after awhile it just didn’t feel right. so this piece is from his perspective and it’s talking about how darren is, well, loquacious (or very talkative lol) but with a caveat: he only seems talkative around him.
in some ways this is still somewhat canon. darren is a person who prefers to kickback and let others lead social interactions but around people he’s close with (like olice and like, now, gabe) he tends to talk a Lot because he feels comfortable to. actually in a lot of ways darren mirrors Me personally because i’m p chill but if i know you well i will absolutely talk your ear off, my partner can attest to this.
i never finished it tho, but i can show you what i wrote! so without further ado (also don’t mind some of the more specific details; some info is Wrong or has been retconned)
It always struck Gabe— how absolutely, incessantly, unmitigatedly talkative Darren was. Or at least, how talkative he was with him. Gabe was never much someone for breaking the silence unless he absolutely had to, but there was something about his boyfriend that loosened his tongue and eased off his usually closed shell.
When they lay together, limbs curled around one another like two overgrown cats and Gabe looked into his dark eyes and wound his fingers through his coarse hair; it occurred to him often that he’d just tune out whatever nonsense Darren was saying. About the weather, about the time, the timing of the weather and the reason for it; about the class that they shared that they both hated, or the classes they didn’t and he was curious about. He could seemingly ramble on and on about nothing, and Gabe would let him, interjecting in his chatter to murmur his opinion or hum in understanding every now and again. He wasn’t a bad boyfriend— sometimes he tuned the bloodsucker out but he was always listening.
The only reason it occurred to him at all that Darren was so talkative, was that, unless they were alone, he was oddly quiet. Rather than not having anything to say, he just took the back seat and listened.
Granted, the two of them did have very outspoken friends. Their respective best friends in particular (Michaelis for him and Marco for Darren) were two of the most opinionated, talkative people that Gabe knew— and he knew his father. Still, instead of joining in on their chatter, Darren was content to ‘kick his feet back’ and ‘enjoy the view.’
He listened when others talked and listened well, and it wasn’t as though their friends didn’t encourage him to talk— the opposite— they always hounded him to speak up more but he’d laugh it off and say “Well you all already know what I’m going to say!”
They didn’t. Not by a long shot.
Because Darren talked about everything and nothing. About small details people wouldn’t expect he’d notice, about deep philosophies that Gabe wasn’t even aware that he’d known. About inconsequential things about why does pasta taste like that (with his nose wrinkling) […]
##
the end tapers off into an unfinished sentence unfortunately lol. but the main bit of retconned info is michaelis existing bc he doesn’t anymore he kinda got absorbed into estel lol. also the classes bit bc it’s more focused on the roadtrip than the school like the old wip used to be. but i do still like this piece! it’s more recent so the style is much better than my older works LOL

Night World unfinished business
Strange Fate’s B-plot is Ash helping the protagonists of the previous books as the apocalypse approaches. It looks like the “help” is just hat he shows up with a helicopter and rescues them from the dragons, who are threatened by the younger Harmans and Redferns and their soulmates. But before we learned that I thought about other situations Ash could find the characters in. So, what unfinished business do the characters have?
Secret Vampire
Poppy and James are setting out to find Poppy’s father, a lost witch. He’s apparently been… being a hippie… all over the country, led by his psychic powers. So what interesting things has he gotten up to over the years? How does he react when he learns about the Night World and that his daughter is now a vampire? Poppy’s brother Phil has chosen a human life, but we know that’s not going to work out for him. How does the Night World pull him back in? Could he have a soulmate? And how do they break the hews to poppy’s mother after she has mourned her child?
Daughters of Darkness
Ash may be off being a knight but his sisters are still in a small town. They’ve defeated the local werewolf, but he might have family coming to inherit the homestead. We also have three vampires who have never lived modern human lives, starting at modern human high school with Mary-Lynette and Mark to help them fit in. Could fierce Kestrel or responsible Rowan have human soulmates?
Spellbinder
Thea has given up being a witch to be with her soulmate. Everybody thinks she’s forgotten all about the Night World, and if she lets on that she remembers she’s toast. But she’ll still be in high school with her friend Dani and two Circle Midnight witches who will probably bully her. How will she manage every day without reaching out to Dani and spilling the beans?
Blaise has been exiled to the Convent under the steely eyes of Great Aunt Ursula. She’s sure to find some way to wreak havoc. Blaise has a lot of sequel because she’s such an awful person that it could be fun to get into her head, see what motivates her to be so terrible and what it would take to get her a redemption arc.
Dark Angel
Gillian is a lost witch, and will probably study witch lore with the only witch she knows, Melusine who works at a witchy shop. Gillian’s next goal will be to help her mother, a lost witch who had psychic powers that she couldn’t control and turned to alcohol to calm her nerves. Gillian will have to help her mother recover from her addiction and learn to use her powers.
Gillian also has a special gift: she can see spirits, thanks to coming back from the dead. What other spirits might she encounter? Will she become a kind of medium, helping lost souls fix their unfinished business and find peace? Gillian has a lot of sequel potential.
The Chosen
We left Rashel and Quinn heading to join up with Circle Daybreak with a traumatized human girl turned vampire hunter named Nyala and Timmy, Rashel’s childhood friend Timmy who is a made vampire stuck at four years old. So their first problems will be getting their friends some help,. What kind of mental health resources does Circle Daybreak have? Is there a way Timmy can be turned human again, or a spell that can make him age so his brain will develop and he can have a life as a person? Rashel also wants to reach out to the vampire hunters she knows and help them see that vampires are not all totally evil. I’m sure that will go completely fine and they definitely won’t want to murderize her for betraying the cause and fraternizing with the enemy! Yeah Ash could definitely rescue her from pissed off fellow vampire hunters.
Then there’s Rashel and Keller’s twin retcon. I’m not sure if I like it because it gives Keller more possible family plots and Rashel some learning-to-shapeshift plots, or dislike it because it’s so obviously a retcon. But it would provide interesting situations for Rashel to be in. What if she got stuck since she’s new to shifting?
Soulmate
Hannah’s sequel story is how she and Thierry set up Circle Daybreak as a thing with its own enclaves and towns and communications network. How did they find the decent Night People? Did they make any mistakes and invite in anyone who later turned out to be a real jerk? Does Hannah want to try to find other people from her past lives? She could also be a source for prophecies, maybe she was there in some ancient temple when a seer received the prophecy in the first place, Hannah could remember the exact words and describe what it was like to be there.
Soulmate is also the book that introduced a friendly werewolf. I feel like the werewolves went underused in the series, the whole “nobility of the pack” thing never turned up or got any screentime. Maybe Ms. Smith just didn’t want to do the whole alpha/beta/omega thing that everybody else does, but everybody else does it because it’s kinda fun plot stuff! Or a writer could do anything else they wanted with the werewolves, there’s not much canon culture for them, so it’s a blank canvas.
Huntress
Jez has plenty of background but one thing we don’t know is how Circle Daybreak learned the apocalypse is coming at all, and what the signs are?
Black Dawn
There is prequel potential here. We’ve never seen much of life in a Night world enclave. How did the masters here learn Delos is the wild power? What was his life like before Maggie descended upon it?
Witchlight
Again prequel potential. How did the witches figure out Iliana is the Wild Power? What is the Witch Child prophecy? Is it ancient or did Aradia just have a vision recently? An ancient prophecy that witches have been debating about for ages works better since people can have different views about what the Witch Child is all about. We don’t even know what the prophecy is but if it were something like “a lost witch with a pure spirit who will lead all witches down a new path” that could mean that her spirit is purely witchy and evil.

Custom Toonami Block Week 147
Spy X Family: So they really try to sell that this episode is going to be about Yor murdering someone but you can basically call it from minute one that this is about her learning to cook since the cuts on her fingers are way too small to be from murder work and her murder work never seemed to affect her mood before. They do end up spicing it u a bit by tying it into the end of the Dog Arc where Yor thinks her cooking is the reason why Loid was gone all day and they hook it into her bitchy coworker being the one to teach her so those are some nice touches, even if I feel like since we’ve seen Loid and Anya at work for a lot of these episodes some more time with Yor’s assassin work would actually do us some good but I guess we’re trying to avoid a seinen tone here. They even throw Yuri in there which seems like a bad idea given her coworkers are some of the people that can verify that she only just got married and Yuri’s still under the impression that she got married a year ago, but luckily it never comes up. Camilla’s dynamic with her husband here during the lesson is really cute and through the power of flashbacks and motherly love they do manage to get Yor to make one dish that’s not entirely poisonous and she starts thinking about the whole ‘this family is about more than what I entered it for’ thing that happens at the end of every story arc. Also there’s a minor B-plot about Scruffyhead liking a girl and Loid helping him practice asking her out and he gets shot down anyway, it’s brief and funny so it doesn’t overstay its welcome but if I learned anything from Inuyasha filler you can really get a lot of comedy mileage out of weird romantic rehearsals and they kinda yadda yadda over Loid dressing in drag to pretend to be asked out by his best friend which could’ve been pretty funny. But they have a nice scene drinking together after where Loid’s all ‘relationships aren’t for people in our business’ like an informant’s gonna have the exact same life or death stakes as a spy and like the series isn’t going to end with the Forgers staying together anyway.
Inuyasha: It’s the second part of the Kikyo special and this part of the timeline has always been a little confusing since they kinda retcon some of it partway into the series and it’s intentionally jumbled up even then, so here’s really the only place we get to see it all laid out chronologically and it’s kind of a patchwork of filler and clip show which makes it really kind of obvious when they switch back and forth because they didn’t re-animate any existing scenes. It is kinda fun how they kinda stitch together that Inuyasha and Kikyo basically had their own series before this where they were traveling around slaying demons like he and Kagome end up doing. But yeah Inuyasha and Kikyo continue their romantic fling and the whole Naraku thing happens and I am kinda glad they remembered not to show him with Kagewaki’s face because he didn’t take on that appearance until Sango’s arc (though he apparently keeps it from then on no matter how many times he’s reincarnated and usually his head’s the only thing to never be destroyed so maybe Narkau’s just weird and vain and REALLY likes Kagewaki’s face who knows). After Naraku sends some mook demons after the jewel Kikyo recognizes her romance is causing her to lose focus and holy power because she’s only spending 23 hours a day praying and training and hanging out with Inuyasha for that extra hour I guess. When she’s distracted by this and Inuyasha’s picking up for her slack Kaede gets her eye injury because if you ever have a character with an eyepatch go through a flashback without the eyepatch you’re about to see how they got that eyepatch, ask MGS3. But yeah Kikyo and Inuyasha agree to use the jewel to turn Inuyasha into a human which Kikyo believes will be an unselfish wish that will cause the jewel to disappear.
Now I’m about to go on a tangent here but I don’t think this would’ve worked, I think the jewel could turn Inuyasha human and it wouldn’t like turn black or anything but it wouldn’t disappear because it still involves Inuyasha and Kikyo wanting that romance and rejecting the idea that Inuyasha can still find happiness as what he is, a core theme of the sacred jewel as a plot device is that people end up obtaining what’s most important to them through their own efforts as opposed to the external macguffin they were searching for: Inuyasha becomes a strong half demon with a solid support network, Sesshomaru creates a sword stronger than the Tessaiga, even Naraku manages to become a full demon and makes the jewel redundant, which is why asking anything of the jewel inherently has a small layer of selfishness and hypocrisy built into it and at the end of the series the ONLY correct wish was the one Kagome made, for the jewel itself to disappear and stop teasing people with easy answers for their goals.
Anyway, tangent aside we get into the betrayal plot where Naraku disguises himself as Inuyasha and Kikyo and tells the other to fuck off (also he destroys Izayoi’s rouge which makes Yashahime kinda impossible but idk maybe they scooped it back up and reforged the shell idk). And he FUCKING PUTS THE JEWEL BACK WHERE IT WAS, like early series Naraku really is just giving out jewel shards left and right to let people fill it with malice and here he has the whole thing in his hands and gives it back so it can absorb Inuyasha’s hatred but like just hold onto it dude you’ll save yourself fifty years of headaches and you can find other couples to break up, bet Naraku’s regretting this move in the present story like not to mention by the end of the series the only shard he’s missing is one he gave away to just to fuck with Sango for a couple weeks but like idk why he didn’t just take it off Kikyo’s body like by the time Inuyasha’s sealed and Kikyo’s dead there’s no one that can stop him from just swooping in and taking it before Kikyo’s cremated with it but maybe her sacrifice made a barrier around herself and purified the jewel one more time so he couldn’t take it back but it’s never explained. Anyway we cut to the modern day and deliberately cut around Kagome’s father for the scene of her being born because Kagome’s family life is kind of a nightmare, his grandpa and mom don’t even have NAMES (then again we never see Kikyo’s parents either despite her being a teenager at the time and being around recently enough for Kaede to be like ten or whatever, guess they died doing feudal era stuff a few years before she met Inuyasha), anyway yeah this special is fun for trying to tie together a lot of the flashback stuff that doesn’t otherwise make sense but there are some holes it creates too so I’ve always approached this one as a ‘if it makes something make more sense run with it but don’t treat it as hard canon if it contradicts something that comes up’ as a kid and that’s still basically where I stand on it now.
Yu Yu Hakusho: It’s time for the wrap-up episode for the Chapter Black arc because yeah there was a lot of things we had to push pause on while the plot was go go go. Yusuke and co. come out of the cave and Keiko adorably instantly recognizes demon Yusuke when Botan gets confused, the Spirit World SCP is still all ‘yo Koenma you fucked up’ and Yusuke tells them to fuck off, Koenma is kind of half in trouble still for everything that happened but he doesn’t come home by the end of the episode so that’s a bit of a plot thread. We also get cute little ‘where are they now’ vignettes for each of Sensui’s minions. Sniper and Doctor have a little chat (Sniper’s not dead btw idk he got better) and talk about how the rage and immediacy of being in an echo chamber re-feeding them the literal worst of humanity kind of had them under a spell where they were still in control of their actions but influenced beyond a reasonable level too and how that’s passed and it feels weird and empty. Doctor pulls a Yoshikage Kira and gets a new face and founds the Ronald Mcdonald house or something, Sniper meets a psychic girl that forces empathy onto him and he becomes a Batman-like vigilante, Gamemaster and Seaman go back to school and have a better time of it with better studies or socialization now that they’re trying to see the good in people, Itsuki and Sensui’s corpse/soul I guess float forever in Itsuki’s Prismo pocket dimension, guess that’s fine and Gourmet’s… still dead, fuck that guy I guess. It’d be REALLY funny if they got through all these sickeningly sweet ‘It gets better’ montages for all the other guys and we just hard cut to Gourmet’s corpse rotting on Elder Toguro’s body while the guy’s still shouting about killing Kurama forever, like they just did not want to revisit that horror show. The three living normal dude psychics agree to not use their powers anymore so they don’t get targeted by demons (wonder how that’ll work out for Sniper and Doctor who are making a living off using the powers) and Yusuke’s going through the ‘how do I go back to high school after the PTSD of blowing demon heads off’ for like the fourth time this time with the added baggage of actually BEING a demon and not knowing what he’s capable of. So yeah, next time we’re in the final arc, this’ll be interesting, I know this arc isn’t the longest, this is like doing the Hunter Election arc right after the Chimera Ant arc but it’s weird to think about that we’re pretty close to done with one of the longest series on the block.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji and Todo briefly step in on the intro for this episode were Todo gives Yuji the Avatar State lesson where ‘the divisions inside us our only there because our mind makes them’ so he can basically summon his energy to a part of body instead of channeling it through his body if I’m understanding it right which is a pretty cool zen lesson to just go for right away. Anyway the meat of the episode is Nobara and Panda confronting Kiki’s Delivery Service girl before Panda gets sniped by Mechamaru and we get a good old fashioned Chunin Exams style ‘do the backstories while they fight’ structure. Mechamaru was born with glass bones and paper skin and every night he lies awake until his heart attacks put him to sleep but it lets him remote control a robot from miles away so uhh… win-win I guess? Like they say his body’s just outside the arena but they cut to his bunker and it looks EXACTLY like the one they also cut do in Kyoto from the Juju Stroll, maybe Juju Stroll’s not the best way to try and decipher this but I was working with the idea that he made a pocket dimension inside the robot where his bathtub tv is but maybe they really did relocate him and put him in exactly the same room or maybe his glass bone paper skin disease lets him just do shit from across the country since I’m used to thinking of things in US terms of geography as opposed to Japanese terms which is relatively smaller. Also turns out Panda’s actually a chimera made of three types of animals and he’s basically like one of those stuffed animal things except he’s made of a living Panda corpse except he was also ‘born’ so idk how exactly that works but point being he’s three animal souls in one Pandaish body with emotions and shit because of Kung Fu Panda power of love shenanigans so he’s a Panda, a Gorilla, and some third thing they’re probably saving for a cool reveal later. But yeah Gorilla!Panda fucks Mechamaru up and they bond about being the weird-looking people of their group and it’s pretty cool, good job, can’t wait for more of this arc.
Zom 100: Now that Akira has his new lease on life, the practical ramifications of the zombie apocalypse come more into focus as he starts to run out of food or more accurately, beer, and interrupts his neighbors’ scene from the Walking Dead to ask if they need anything while he’s at the store which is pretty fucking funny. Once there we get the REAL manic pixie dream girl of the show after the last episode had our fakeout and sports bra girl saves Akira’s ass before telling him she doesn’t want anything to do with someone who can’t assess risk and ditching him. Akira thinks about this and steals a motorcycle for some sick zombie action before finding out his quirky interaction with his neighbors is cut short because they’re fucking dead now, deciding that risk is worth it because he almost died without living at all so he’s willing to stake his life on doing the things that will make him happy and he fills out the first thirty three things in the Zom 100 notebook. Meanwhile we cut to sports bra girl’s perspective and replay the same day again which is a really interesting choice, we see she’s a telecommuter (doesn’t say what she does but I like to think she works in stocks as a risk analyst because it fits the theme) and is currently trying to analyze every possible aspect of the apocalypse to maximize her chances of staying alive, the classic Wall-E “I don’t want to survive, I want to live” dichotomy and we see the convenience store encounter from her perspective and what to Akira looked like a manic pixie dream girl encounter was actually her barely listening to him and predicting zombie movements before genuinely putting herself in danger on a whim to save him. I’ll admit I was a little apprehensive because basically all anime has to have waifus now to sell shit but treating her entrance from a different perspective like this is a neat way to show how what looks like a harem anime trope is actually a subtle start to her character arc which is neat. She makes it back to her house and thinks about how happy Akira looked being reckless and going for what made him happy and regrets not doing the same and picking up non-essentials on her own. The show’s going to have to do some tricky balancing about how someone so carefree is going to actually be able to survive but I think that dichotomy’s off to a good start here, though on a side note I have no idea how the power’s still on or how long that’ll last but it kinda bugs me, sports bra girl grabbed some batteries and power gas but there is a LOT of electricity happening for people that should be more worried about supplies.
Ranking of Kings: So this episode has A LOT of flashbacks, first when Desha talks about Miranjo Bojji remembers that she’s the one that killed his mother and he practically literally almost drowned in her blood before Miranjo was betrayed by the archers she hired and shot down as well and that causes him to freak out a bit but he’s able to pull himself together enough for Desha to tell him that they want to take Gigan back since he’s, you know, a criminal and all, that’s kind of the mission objective. But Gnasty Gnorc here was made a life debt friendship thing with Bojji so he steps up to protect him and Desha sees him deflect his spell and was like ‘wait a minute what the fuck I just saw you like two weeks ago when did you learn to CUT LIGHTNING!?’ and we get the flashback that Desha recruited Gigan to fight his dad but in the fight they kinda had to torture babies and commit genocide against the whole race of Gnasty Gnorcs and Gigan was not happy about that and killed some of Desha’s dudes so they put him in jail for that. There’s also a neat scene of Desha, Despa and Ouken talking about their means and Desha says he didn’t want to do it but the mercs he hired are cruel assholes and he needs to keep them placated, Despa doesn’t want anything to do with it and Ouken doesn’t like it either but he revolves to become strong enough to not need such cruel tactics in the future and that Gigan will be among his royal guards. So Desha absolves Gigan of his crimes and takes him back to the Underworld as a member of the royal guard. It’s funny because apparently Desha and Despa have a magical brother walkie talkie system and Desha’s just like ‘yo bro how much did you teach this Bojji the Rock kid huh?’ and Despa’s just like ‘Oh fuck bro, don’t fight him, he’ll absolutely wreck you, also you had no chance of beating Bosse, just try and let Bojji fight him and we can kill Miranjo while they’re hashing out the family shit’ and it’s really kinda funny because we haven’t seen Bojji get serious in a fight yet but everyone’s absolutely certain he’s like a tactical nuke now and I wanna see it. But yeah Sword Guy and Kirito apologize to Bojji about the whole trying to kill him thing but he still has PTSD so he has to run off, though Kage’s able to calm him down while they head back to the surface. Meanwhile Ouken’s waking back up over by Despa because we know he’s gonna have to fight Bojji at some point.
Vinland Saga: So yeah, Canute’s not taking Ragnar’s death well and Asekladd’s and Bjorn talk about and bottom line, Askeladd will either let this be a learning experience for Canute to make him a badass or if he breaks they’ll abandon him and lose nothing from the process. Meanwhile the men are torturing an English Captian for info and Akseladd breaks out the Sonozaki family finger torture techniques and schools him on how big assholes the English are and how the Danish are basically just fighting fire with fire at this point since the English also stole England from the Celts. Meanwhile the interrogation is pretty short because their answer comes to them when Thorkell is revealed to be hot on their trail so they have to get moving again. They root out some deserters and Askeladd says if they wanna join Thorkell they can stay but Thorkell just murders them all anyway because you can’t trust a deserter. Meanwhile while crossing a bridge Asekladd orders it torn down to slow Thorkell but Thorkell’s also like right there and one of the brothers from the Those Two Guys squad is like ‘man fuck Askeladd let’s kidnap the prince and bring him to Thorkell’ and we already saw how well that would go (which is funny because until the deserters told him, Thorkell didn’t even know Askeladds NAME, he doesn’t give a shit about Askeladd he just wants Thorfinn and Canute) but yeah that whole deal comes to a head as a good amount of the troops surround Canute’s sled and threaten to turn on Askeladd.

Small rant about fandom
So seeing a lot of “I miss my quiet fandom” from the Spiderman 2099 fans. Like yeah I geddit, got a lot of Gen A kids with their TikTok’s and their annoying Ciara track edits an such with a version of Miguel they don’t recognize. And also arguments about race and skintone.
think that’s bad?
Mortal Kombat fandom…. FULL of racism. Sexism. Homophobia. Transphobia. Deathwishes. Netherrealm Studios retconning the characters to hell because they handed the script to a guy who’s NEVER had any experience with video games (when it comes to ick, P Daniels got nothing on Dominic Cianciolo) Redesigns not able to decide who they wanna pander to. A lot of this crap because they were trying to stay relevant to an old crowd from the 90s as well as cater to a newer crowd, but there was a severe clash because the old crowd knew a simpler arcade game while the newer fans wanted FGC level BS. MK11 was the biggest fandom nightmare. Seriously atsv is MILD, and seems to try to go in the right direction by being rich with additional culturally specific art and design. MK did something like that but then also did some weird crap with it and not everyone was happy and I still haven’t exactly pinpointed just what that was! They literally changed up a skin because it was Confederate-inspired.
A mess! I got into the shittiest arguments. Never wanna go back to that ever again as long as a live, no matter how good or ambivalent my intentions are.
So I kinda left it alone
Anyway. Before atsv I went back to Psychonauts. Played it as a teen, then part 2 came out in my 30s. Of course they did small things that catered to new players. Some of the stuff the newer fans do are not always easy to relate to or understand (like the Miguel tiktok edits), but I really don’t mind it at all. I reached out to them in my own way by liking and reblogging their work and they checked me back in kind and some I chat with on a regular basis. What I’m tryna say here is that there’s always gonna be old fans and new fans. Depending on the way creators handle their audience can heavily effect the way their fandom gets along. NRS dropped the molten hot ball by being a hostile network that occasionally even fought with their own fans. Doublefine Studios is hella-casual and their fandom turned out that way too.
In real time I’m sorta watching where Sony is going with this fandom. They seem to be diverse-conscious yet also trying to ignore Miguel’s origin comic shamefully? Idk i think it fits him anyway, no matter what he looks like. Oof and I’ve seen the whole “why he white” rhetoric in Miguel fanart over at Pinterest and gosh I don’t know if I can spare to care anymore because you couldn’t swing a controller without running into that with MK art, when clearly a LOAD of their characters were default Caucasian-looking in the 90s. It’s a reoccurring design that has plenty of room to make changes with imo, but it’s tiresome to gatekeep.
I think if people are just a bit patient with the newer fans and not start a war, things will be fine and the Spiderman 2099 fandom will go back to being peaceful. I’m a newer fan. I don’t like the weird edits. I purchased the first two issues of the 90s comic to fully understand Miguel’s origin, the very comic with the cover that atsv used in his intro. It’s nice to collect something else other than DC Lobo. I think if you feel creeped out, pressured, or even downright angry at new fans, just ignore them. Ignore me. It’s possible to curate your own experience online. Except Twitter. Fuck that place in the A, I hate it. I’d join a hateocracy against the destruction of Twitter if I could. And if you a new fan, idk just have fun and don’t be mean to the old fans because they the reason 2099 came back around despite his story getting shelved several times.
Anyway, ramble over. I wanted to get a lot of that off my mind.

about your andor retcon posts - i feel like a lot of andor viewers don't notice or care about the retcons. of the people who care, most are trying to explain it in universe. there are very few people who are ignoring the retcons, either by just ignoring them or the show entirely depending on how they feel about the rest of the show. i feel your struggle as someone who invested in the rogue one canon only for andor to retcon it. disney keeps doing it and i don't get the point. personally i think what we got isn't better than what we had but i know most people disagree
im fairly certain most people have never picked up the visual dictionary or any of the supplementary media, and if they have it's been years. i'm not saying they're wrong for that, but i do think that actually most people don't even know there are retcons at all lol i mean we are in the very small minority of fans who are still in the rogue one fandom after all this time (prior to andor airing ofc)
let's keep it real - a lot of people didn't care about cassian or rogue one at all, as evidenced by all the "who asked for this show" comments from certain fans lmfao, and i'm really glad that there is renewed interest in this character and rogue one in general because i love them sfm. and of course there are longtime fans who don't care as much and same thing, that's cool for them.
but i really don't need people continuing to try to explain to me why x y and z makes sense because of headcanon lmfao like that's cool but it's just your opinion, you know? not you anon lol universal you. and i'll be honest it's a lot of people who haven't been in the fandom for that long, which im trying not to be like a bitch about lol i don't want them to feel unwelcome or talked down to or insulted or disrespected, but i don't like that so many people feel super comfortable acting like some longtime fans are being inflexible (which i've seen lol the audacity) for not liking the changes, or acting like they aren't changes at all - that we're weird for not seeing how obvious it is that cassian wasn't referring to being in the literal fight since he was six (when... he was in his original backstory sooo)
that said i'm not against retcons altogether lol it depends on the situation. even in andor i'm not mad about all of them and i've really made my peace with them tbh but people keep trying to explain shit to me and im like ???? i do not need it explained im alright making my headcanons work for me because im stubborn as fuck. plus i have literal clinical ocd so this is actually kind of hard for me. so i would like people to stop at this point. the trolling shit is funny as hell to me lol but the people continuing to just speak next to my point? like it feels like people don't understand what im saying or that i'm not being clear (probably true tbh) which is a trigger of mine in my personal life.
i think this is gonna be the last thing i say on this. i've probably said this about a dozen times or more now. i appreciate you anon and yeah im sorry, too. im not sure how lucasfilm can just keep expecting us to invest time in their books and comics and stuff if they're not even gonna be taken seriously by the studio itself.

Tumblr media
Good question!! Here's what I said: "I feel like in the past he was the most feminized by fandom, and not because of his mannerisms or look, but because of his willingness to embrace his emotional intelligence- to cry/ talk about crying openly, to share readily about his feelings and be vulnerable, all these things coded as feminine." You're right, that was an overstatement- but also I feel like there's something worth picking apart in there. First of all, you talk about his looks and his height being factors since TXF days but tbh I think that's somewhat backwards, that it's him being feminized by fandom that has led to perceptions of him being way tinier than he is, right through to this day, and to memory retcons like that he was drastically smaller and more delicate and so forth than the rest of them on TXF- they were all tiny, possibly Niall was shorter than Louis, but who is femininizing Niall? I mean look at this picture:
Tumblr media
Is Louis really so much smaller or girlier looking than anyone else? IMO no (and not just cause they've put him in front). In terms of only appearance, was he really so much more delicate and pretty and feminine at 18 than 17 year old doe eyed, soft spoken and sensitive Zayn? They were all little and pretty back then, not ONLY Louis, but Louis was and is perceived differently- I would argue that those traits came to be associated with him not because of his appearance, but that his appearance was and is perceived with a focus on those elements because of, as you say, his mannerisms. I guess part of the issue for me is that I don't see male queerness as feminine and I resist that framing! The extreme heteronormativity of equating gay with feminine is basically based on the idea 'you like to fuck men so you are like a woman cause that's who fuck men', but actually queer culture and physicality is a whole separate thing and flamboyance isn't femininity at all... but that's about twenty steps into nuance past most of what happens in fandom for sure. So anyway, yeah, his presentation as something other than hetero-masculine fed the idea of him being feminine, but I think it was fed and cemented by him also displaying other traits associated with femininity such as a willingness to be vulnerable and talk about crying a lot and how much he loved his mum and sisters and other emotionally open things that Real Men don't. And I think that the extremity of the way people think of him as small and delicate come from all of that rather than the other way around, something that's especially relevant NOW when his emotional sensitivity and openness is the only one of those traits still on display.
Of course, there's also another reason why people feminize Louis and retcon lots of things about him to try to make it work that a LOT of those ideas have come from and been kept alive by; because they want to use him as a fantasy proxy for themselves in relation to Harry, and they want to make him into something they, as women, identify with in that fantasy scenario, to make him into a Y/N for larries or anyone who can't fully shake the recognition that Harry will never look at them or anyone like them the way he did at Louis, so they keep some version of him in the picture, but shape it closer and closer to themselves by making him out to be tiny and feminine and soft spoken (LMAO IF THERE'S ONE THING LOUIS AINT) and so forth. It is what it is but I wish real actual Louis was left out of it; there is zero relationship between that character and the actual (5'9") adult man and the way those ideas of him bleed into analysis of the actual person is awful imo.
