Please look at these incredible mugs of our cats that my mum made for my birthday!!

They all have lil balls and buttholes. I think they look just like our boys. Mum's gotten so good at pottery, I'm so proud of her, and I LOVE these mugs. Best birthday present ever <3

Me for the longest while: Hera is super meticulous and organized and is the person gently tapping a portrait until it's perfectly aligned and/or gutting the entire wall to rebuild it because they've realized it's why the pictures keep getting off tilt by less than a degree. She very much is a perfectionist, and likes everything to be spotless and flawless, from her home to her children to the entirety of Olympus, and blessings on anyone who threatens her immaculate tranquility.

Me for the last couple years or so: Zeus is also super organized but in an orderly, autistic, "everything has its place and must be in that right place, and if it is not I will not handle it in a healthy way at all because I have been more or less catered to my entire life and therefore have terrible coping mechanisms" and "gets weird about the right names and uses for things, and will get even weirder, for example, if you use a mug for cold water because it's supposed to be for hot beverages" kind of way

One thing ive been thinking about lately is that like

Its okay to only ever make bad art. Its okay to only paint "boring" things or only draw the same thing a million times or only be "okay" at sewing or crochet. Sometimes i think theres this idea that its okay to make bad art because its part of the process of making good art, but i think its fine to make art that is bad or just okay and not keep looking at it thinking about ways it is flawed or ways to make it better. If you want to improve and grow, thats great and you will through the process of just doing something over and over or looking for advice or other ways of learning.

But its also totally okay to only ever want to make bad art

Guys what if ex-villain Misako? What if the reason why Lloyd went to Darkly’s isn’t because of Garmadon, it’s because Misako has personal connections. And while she isn’t evil anymore, it would make sense as to why she opted to leave Lloyd, yknow. Like she thought she wouldn’t be a good parent. And also why she dated Garmadon in the first place. Also it makes their relationship so interesting. Rage filled person who is trying to fight the temptation to be evil x seeming innocent secretly devious person. It would be great.

had a dream that had john as the main character. i think he and amanda were going after cecelia? but they had loose ends to tie up because lynn had made it out somehow? she still had a collar but it was just like a manacle and not the shotgun collar. also amanda took pity? on daniel and john let her keep him so he wasn't REALLY an apprentice but he was weirdly okay with everything, even after he had His Entire Lower Jaw removed (he lived of course. always had a hood up after that). also jigsquad were lowkey cannibals, they had to take a bite out of every victim to keep them alive through themselves. it lost the plot a bit the longer it went tho. john and amanda tried to kill lynn at an outdoor rave but somehow got one upped by the dudes hosting who also tried to steal something of theirs? or maybe he was just gonna be like "hey that's jigsaw" to the news or whatever idk. anyway john turned into godzilla and killed the guy, then broke the fourth wall with daniel to be like "hope you liked saw xi!" and i woke up

not as far as I'm aware! afaik the art historian consensus is rather the opposite; that the archaic smile is a symbol of health and well-being, as the kouroi (statues of young men) and korai (statues of young women) of the era that have this little smile are meant to be idealized representations of members of greek high society, and the little smiles being this marker of idealized health, behavior and beauty of aristocrat youth. I wonder if the hypothesis that it symbolizes death could come from the fact that kouroi and korai of this era were either funerary (tomb markers typically) or votive and never "represented" a living person technically. but from what I've read and what the researchers I study from have said, the little smile that looks like this: • ‿ • is not about death, but about an idealized representation of youth, health and contentment. the happy placid smiler, them smiling due to their joy tranquility... etc

based on el famoso Moschophoros ("Calf-Bearer"), a ~570 BC greek statue of the Archaic period, depicting a man carrying on his shoulders a calf brought as a sacrifice to the god(s) the statue was dedicated to (the more widely-known hypothesis is a dedication to Athena, as the Moschophoros was found on the Acropolis, but considering the animal is male, a male deity is also considered probable as a recipient).
