DRIZZLE SEASON 2023
youtube
Tumblr media
I'm going to do a bit of analysis this time on things I found interesting!
First of all, we'll be getting an Anniversary Splatfest - Who would be the Best leader of Deep Cut? Shiver, Frye, or Big Man? (Team Frye rise up and get our girl her win!)
Then along with some badges and banners (as well as double chances of 10x battles), we'll be getting the Deep Cut Amiibos in November! Can't wait for my wallet to cry!
Last of the Twitter updates is that we're getting a Big Run literally the day the new season drops. No news on where or if there's a new King yet!
Now onto the trailer!
Tumblr media
First off, more new music! From what we hear in the trailer I like it! Not nearly as much as Yoko and The Gold Bazookas, but it's definitely Splatoony!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mixing up the order a bit, we have two NEW maps! Pretty sure everyone thought Crableg Capital was Saltspray on the first few seconds, but it appears to be a mid city construction site (perhaps it will come back completed in Splatoon 4 like Hammerhead?) And the other new map is Shipshape Cargo Co., which seems to be a cargo ship in the middle of the artic (how are these kids wearing tees and sandals here without freezing?) I'm no map expert, so I'll leave the good map/bad map debate to more experienced players, but I really like the look of these!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next are the two new weapons - Dread Wringer and Heavy Edit Splatling! Dread Wringer seems to be a laundry or mop bucket with a wringer attachment that launches two shots per swing. And the Heavy Edit looks like it's a mix between a highlighter and a correction fluid bottle, but I could be mistaken. It seems to have nearly perfect accuracy.
Tumblr media
The Gold Dynamo is finally here! And it got clowned on the entire trailer. So it's back but at what cost?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next up is a cool new feature! The ability to adjust the position of your hat and the size of your shirt (possibly more?) This personally is my favorite feature shown so far, since I ADORE the fashion in this game (pwease give us more gear that just catalog based Nintendo I am BEGGING you)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next up, Salmon Run! We get the returning stage Salmonid Smokeyard, which I have never played on, so hopefully it's not as horrible as Marooners! And new gloopsuits! With patterns! Fancy! And seeing as the last time we got new suits we got returning Splat 2 Salmon Run gear, that probably means we'll be getting more of those in the shop (I still have two peices I need to get 😭)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
New Tableturf cards which reveals the new weapon kits we're getting - Bloblobber, Tristringer, Ballpoint, Brella, Gootuber, Sloshing Machine, Gold Dynamo and Octobrush(plus the two new weapons!) Also now have cards for the Salmon Kings in the illustrated style! I don't think any other salmon cards are illustrated except Lil' Buddy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And lastly, new challenges! A previously leaked by Nintendo themselves mode with a modded Rainmaker that shoots 3 shots, a fast swimming mode and another special based one, this time with Inkjet!
Currently very excited for this season! Let me know what you all think!

Splatoon and its effects (on me)
Obligatory post about how this series permanently changed me as a person. TLDR: This series is good, play it if you can/want to. kinda miffed that i never got to even look at the grandfest thanks to grinding out Big Run a week prior (i never recovered).
Splatoon 1 drops in 2015, I'm around 12 or 11 at the time. I was only recently getting into videogames with upgrading from a Wii to a WiiU. I didn't really have much perspective on the other consoles other than whatever episode of AVGN I was watching. I didn't really see the point of games being 'realistic' why actively try to look like Real Life when other games who don't tend to age much better. And cost significantly less Enter Splatoon, a game that is unashamedly stylized. The music being in some made up language, the loud and proud colors fully on display with some unique character designs…everywhere. I all but begged my mother for this game, watching the trailer dozens of times and absorbing whatever information I could about the game from ZackscottGames, to listening to rips of the music until I finally had it in my hands.
The music specifically just…works. yeah I can't understand a word of it, but in a sheer musical standpoint..it's just good. It's weird and obtuse in a refreshing way.
I have some vivid memories of replaying the single player levels, the Amiibo challenges, getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter and exploring the Hub World dozens of times over. Attending and playing every single splatfest with my weekend off from school. Not to say it was perfect, Nintendo online was..and still is a joke. But it didn't have to be. It was just fun and basically the one shooter I could see myself playing since it was just so unashamed at being different and not trying to simplify things because of it.
I basically hard committed to every splatfest, being a young teenager with infinite time after homework, I hyper focused hard into the game and milked every second into the online gameplay, and it was fun. I wouldn't really want to do that a second time but I'd still say it was worth it.
Cut to Splat2n some time in 2017ish. I was around 15 or 16ish going through high-school. I never really 'left' splatoon. I'm still active around the subreddit but due to my WiiU dying out on me, I couldn't really play the game. At least to me. Splat 2 feels like more of Splat 1. They were clearly trying new things that could have still worked in the 1st game while experimenting with some unique concepts. Especially in regards to the music. Splat 2 has some much needed diversity with its bans groups that nobody really complained about. But that's neither here or there, the series still stands head and shoulders above basically any shooter at the time.
Including the looming shadow of Early Fortnite. I never really saw the interest in fortnite so I never touched it.. still remains that way to this day but for more palpable reasons. The game (splatoon) didn't feel like it was chomping at the bit to make you spend money, despite having frequent content updates it never FELT like a drip feed. Moreso that the device realized that these other ideas can work here too and added them in. It never felt like it was trying to be the endless moneymaker that literally every other shooter is.
To me, the splatfests here were the best in the series due to Shifty Stations. The fact that they brought in the unique elements from single player always tickled my fancy since they were such a different experience from the normal grounded levels. I never got the chance to participate in Order VS Chaos (something that eventually echos into Splat 3) but the ones I did participate in where definitely enjoyable.
Onto Splat 3, 2022 and I'm in between jobs at age 20. I couldn't really will myself to get Splatoon until a year later. In my head I couldn't ration myself playing it since 'I should be getting a job first' so I eventually picked it up at a gamestop during one of the first few Seasons. Again, toy get the gist. This series at least to me, is some of Nintendos best work. They've put a shit ton of effort into the art direction, music, animation, QOL, and it makes it into an overall smoother experience.
Kinda sucksyou have to pay for online..but three dollars is honestly such a low price (especially compared to Sony and Microsoft) that it's worth my time. I happened to dislike how fast the game had become. The other two games had a manageable pace that didn't rely too much on reaction time. Something about Splat 3, weather its Tacticooler, the movement options, the specials, it makes things feel a little too fast for me sometimes. I feel like an idiot saying I might be too old, but for me it's a coinflip weather or not I'd be able to win an encounter against a dualies or shooter aince..they're so fast.
Personal gripes aside, the game is still pretty solid for just pure gameplay as long as you're just trying to enjoy yourself and not taking it too seriously.
The splatfests are…interesting. I wasn't too much of a fan of tricolor battles especially since the stages weren't that different. But it didn't stop me from participating when I could.
Sadly, i Never really got the chance to experience the final fest. I'm the insane person who has work on Friday and Saturday, combined with life itself and my general video game playing mood being at an all time low (i put..way too much effort into the Big Run), I experienced the Cochella like event through screenshot and Twitter clips. Hindsight is a son of a bitch since it clearly looks cool as hell with all the idols on a literal stage with a crowd and actually USING the two other d-pad buttons. People are saying that you're still able to go back to the venue as long as you have an Idol amiibo which is…really nice, it looks like Nintendo really put in so much effort into the animation, modeling and music. Would really such if you could never see it again just because you had work or other plans.
Regardless, Splatoon over its..nearly 10 years of existing has been head and shoulders above most games when it comes to the sheer commitment and creativity. Throughout the 3 games I never felt like I WASNT playing a splatoon games they really stretched themselves out without compromising the visual and audio feel of the series.

Might be a hot take idk, but I enjoyed farming for the Hero Weapons in Splatoon 2 and i'd gladly do it again if they'd bring them back. Though that wouldn't work with Splatoon 3 since it's got OE style stages. That format only was good for Octo Expansion, it feels tiring in Splatoon 3 and not as fun as the stages in 1 and 2.
I know the "exploring blank in octo territory" was probably tired by the third game but eugh i just don't like the "trial" type states for 3's story mode.
You didn't HAVE to farm for the hero weapons, but i'm glad they gave you the option since the only 3 hero weapons in splat 1 were given via amiibo.

You play splatoon! /pos What drag you to the franchise?
Ah, yeah I do!
TLDR; I played Splatoon 1 when it first came out, but didn't really get fully into it after Javi got her Switch and Splatoon 3
Back when Splatoon 1 came out, I had a few friends/mutuals get Splatoon and enjoy it. I was never super into co-op/multiplayer games so I passed on it, at least until a friend convinced me to get it and try and just play with their group so I wouldn't be stuck with randoms (Yes I have a Wii U, don't razz me about it).
We played a few rounds, and I was having fun, until my parents had to call me into the kitchen to talk to me and tell me my Grandma passed. Not a sad or bad memory, it's just kind of weird to have Splatoon permanently associated with that, y'know?
I didn't play it again after that, not because I didn't like it, or bad memories or anything. I think I just ended up buying BOTW and got dragged into playing that. I eventually got rid of my Splatoon 1 disc when I was trading in stuff I didn't play so I could get a Switch.
Still, going forward had friends/mutuals still into Splat, so it'd come across my dash every now and then. And I always kind of liked the aesthetic and concept of the game. It was fun. But I didn't personally try Splatoon again until @silverxcristal got her Switch and got Splatoon 3. Since Javi was playing it and excited about it, I'd figure I'd try it again. So I picked up copy of Splatoon 1 and played through story mode. Picked up Splatoon 2, the Octo Expansion DLC and some amiibos played that for awhile too. Javi told me I couldn't buy 3 though, because she wanted to buy it for me.
A week before the Choco Splatfest, Javi bought me Splatoon 3. Ordered the game on a Thursday, I got the game that Friday, and smashed through story mode, finishing it by the next Wednesday dhsjfv. It's been fun and I'm enjoying myself. Glad I gave it another go.

finished filling slots on my splatoon 1 gear. actually before i got to aerospray rg. like 5 weapons before. i was going to finish it off once i got there because i wasn't sure if i'd get them done just from playing with every one 3 times, but i guess i don't need to
this just leaves 3 more groups of 3 weapons (done in different rotations so i get to play on more stages) until i'm done. and i plan to do the next one of these on the next rotation in a few hours
.52 gal deco, jet squelcher, aerospray rg
corocoro splat roller, hero roller replica, kelp splat charger
octoshot replica, n-zap '89, hero charger replica
those hero replicas are the only weapons i haven't used at all in the game now
(these weapons, and wasabi splattershot, are the most recently used ones before i came back to the game--i used corocoro splat roller to practice before taking on octavio in the amiibo challenge for the hero one, and i probably intended to do the same with kelp splat charger but didn't get around to actually doing the challenge until 2019)
since i'm done wearing gear just to fill slots, i'm also free to wear whatever i want now. to my knowledge, the only splatoon 1 exclusive gear is the squid girl outfit, the sushi chef outfit, the corocoro cap/hoodie, the white/black line tees, and the tentacles helmet, so i could wear those as i finish the last few weapons (though i'll probably wear the hero/armor gear for the hero replicas and the octoling gear for the octoshot)

Nintendo Direct 9-14-23 Reaction Post!!
That's right, there's another Nintendo Direct, and I am a bit tired, I wasn't able to get any sleep last night!! (There was a dog taking up my entire bed)
It's starting!!
What's first for today...
Oh!! The Splatoon 3 DLC!! I guessed this right, in a Discord!! I wasn't expecting it to be the starting thing though/.. The feel of this is very different to normal Splats.. Is this the... Octo Subway? The Thing from Splatoon 2, but for Splatoon 3.. It escapes my head right now.. Very much a different tone
OH!! Order.. Like.. The other choice from that Splatfest!! Kinda a smart choice
MINI MARIO
YES YES YES YES MARIO VS DONKEY RETURNS??? THIS WAS LIKE ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAMES.. A REMAKE OF A GAME I REALLY LIKED?? Thank yous Nintedo!! Having to explain the game in the direct... But I wonder if it will still have all that silly music... Woah... Multiplayer... I wonder if it will have the E Reader Levels!! February 16th.. What a nice start..
I've heard of this series before, but after the previous announcement, I already got what I wanted--- Or rather, what I didn't know I wanted
Racing games... It looks like it was lagging a bit in the multiplayer..
A Rythym game--- I know that song.. I think? It feels familar..
AAAAAAAAH OOMFIE 2 JUMPSCARE
Oh! More details on the Mario RPG!! They changed stuff, will people enjoy it? Rematches are always fun!! The iconic Forest Maze Music.. I remember hearing that a lot in the past... Despite not playing the game...
Wait, from the Brawl Trophies... Nintendo really bringing back some dormant franchises.. It's nice to see them return.. I wonder if that other one might eventually return.. that.. I also can't recall the name of right now.. Wait it was just remakes?
The Peach RPG? The Sparkle Theater... New little guys... New designs in a Mario game!! Crownless Peach??
Kirby Peach... I guess this makes a lot of sense for a play, to wear costumes like that! That feels like a Mario Party Minigame.. Is this an RPG? It feels more.. adventure-y?
Showtime???
I can't tell if this is a remake or a new series.. Oh, it looks like a new Entry (Maybe?)
Tomb Raider.. I remember buying a bunch of them on Steam a long time ago... and I never ended up playing a single one.. Oops
Dectective Pikachu 2.. I started my day way too early... Goodman??
THIS GAME?? Trombone Hero.. I thought it was Wii Music 2 for a second.. this game is so silly.. Glad to see it on more platforms.. Wait.. Will there be Nintendo musics??
Some of these headlines are very generic.. Scary... A MOBA Battle Royale... That toneshift was kinda wild.. Contra is back?? Oh! Wayforward helped!!
Famicom Wars? I have no idea what game this could be... It feels weird to not have the normal narrator.. Unicorn Overlord is an odd name.
AAHHHHH Scary.. Luigi's Mansion 2 Dark Moon (very scary) Oh!! They put an "HD" onto the title!! I wonder what they will add!! I watched a let's play of this game way back.. I even was able to do a bit of Download play with a friend back in the day... I wonder if this also means a Polterpup plush rerelease.. Next Summer? That's pretty far off
Nintendo Gallery? Nintendo Muesum?? Nintendo's History is vast.. I would like to eventually see all the cool stuffs.. Amiibos!! Xenoblade Amiibos!! Smash Amiibos are over... OLIMAR SHOWN
F-ZERO?? NOOOOO BATTLE ROYALE??? DIDN'T SOMEONE PREDICT THIS?? I'm also really bad at F-Zero, judging by my current skills on the Switch Online App.. I am glad to see it return in some form.. This feels like... a Monkey Paw case...
A Party too wild... Wait is that just like.. the story of Kirby Epic Yarn?? Okay it has fishing.. awesome.. LEAGUE OF LEGENDS?? SCARY
WARIOWARE SMOOTH MOVES 2, THE FORMS ARE BACK... This game will be awesome.. I really need to make more space for it in my room.. FISHING!! That's quite soon!!
100 Heros.. Like.... Pikmin!!! Sharks.. (Magical Girls)
A Farming Game.. I really should get another one..
Making a Campaign seems pretty cool!!
Fishing!!
The final wave.... Diddy Kong!! FUNKY KONG!! Pauline!! Peachette!! They only showed off one track!!
Sus.... Wait.. New Map?? It's a shame that playing games like this are a bit too stressful for me...
Recaps!! PIKMIN SHOWN!!!
The finale..
PAPER MARIO THOUSAND YEAR DOOR HD... Now people can't complain anymore!!
Wait.. I think I mentioned in a chat that I would play it if they rereleased it...
A pretty nice direct, many games that I may eventually get in the future!!

S2: RSI Tournament - A Memoir (Part 1)
Table of Contents
Part 1 HERE Part 2 HERE Part 3 HERE Part 4 HERE Part 5 HERE Part 6 HERE Part 7 HERE Part 8 HERE Part 9 HERE
Splatoon 2: Ready, Set, Ink! Tournament - A Memoir
Following the events of Ink Your Heart Out!, the organisers of Splatoon Community Malaysia hosted another tournament with the ambitions of raising awareness for Splatoon 2, promoting the growth of e-sport, and attracting Nintendo’s attention on the existence of SEA community.
Ready, Set, Ink! was the first tournament that includes the four currently-existing ranked modes: Splat Zones, Tower Control, Rainmaker, and Clam Blitz, with Turf War as a tie-breaker. The categories included were ones that require a higher level of strategy, team synergy and personal skills for higher chance of victory.
The four modes are as follows (extracted from Inkpedia):
Splat Zone (SZ) - Plays similarly to the King of the Hill mode from other video games. It revolves around a central "zone" or "zones", which players must attempt to cover in ink. Whoever retains the zone for a certain amount of time wins.
Tower Control (TC) - A player must take control of a tower located in the center of a map and ride it towards the enemy base. The first team to get the tower to their enemy's base wins.
Rainmaker (RM) - A player must grab and take the Rainmaker weapon to a pedestal near the enemy team's spawn point. The team who carries the Rainmaker furthest towards their respective pedestal wins.
Clam Blitz (CB) - Players pick up clams scattered around the stage and bring them to the goal. (It’s more complex than it sounds)
As Fate would have it, my old team decided to get together to give this tournament a try. This resulted in another long memorable journey that would now be eternalise here.
0) Team Members
louhai - The captain of the team. His passion for Ink Brush is unwavering. Like a shounen hero, he is always eager to fight strong opponents as it motivates him to improve his combat skills (and forces him to reflect if he’d done wrong). A social butterfly who has a hand in empowering the community to participate the tournament.
Furidomu - Resident slayer of our team, the no-longer-lonesome wolf continues to bless us kills with her existence. Her action speaks louder than words, and she is highly determined. She remains a strong pillar of our group. Uses Dapple Dualies, Tri-Slosher and Clash Blaster.
slap - No longer a captain, but he becomes surprisingly crucial with his mid-range/long-range skills. Still has the tendency to emo in the corner, but develops a form of hardcore streak during the journey (thanks to Leaf’s absence). Dabbles in Dynamo Roller before returning to his beloved Splattershot Pro.
Leaf - Formerly known as Low, he remains a skilled Dualies user. A companion we trust to fight by our side. In this tournament, however, he is half-retired and prefers to remain as a substitute. Shares his knowledge when needed.
Kuniki - New addition to the team, but definitely not a stranger. His performance is determined by his “battle mode”, and he fights like a whirlwind incarnated. A veteran Splatoon 1 player who is also our resident artist. Master in Dapple Dualies, but uses Tri-Slosher when needed.
And then, there’s lil ol’ me. While I main Tri-slosher, I took up Rapid Blaster Pro and Heavy Splatling to cover my team’s weakness for long range. Like before, I played the mediator, grandmother, as well as the manager/trainer of the group.
1) Tofu Team’s Revival
It started when I found out that I still crave to ink and win, that I want to start a legacy of West Mountain Tofu team being the first victor in Malaysia tournaments.
It also started with Leaf’s procon broken, and we found out that the tournament’s prize are new procons.
Meanwhile, louhai and Furi were undecided on whether to form their own teams individually as to maintain that power balance.
So, when I suggested a revival, all immediately agree to it with much enthusiasm.
slap was the last one to get roped in. We knew he has a fickle heart for gaming, and this tournament would require much more dedication and hard work than before, so he was given time to consider and prepare himself.
(louhai sent in the registration form before he said yes, though.)
As such, West Mountain Tofu team was back into business!
2) Planning the Path to Victory
It was agreed that everyone really wanted to win first prize, therefore everyone's here to win and our goals are aligned yet again!
However, herein lies the difficulty: in terms of personal skill, Tofu is potentially stronger than most of the existing, registered teams (as far as we know, anyways)... however, Tofu is not perfect and there were (and are) still many, MANY things to work on.
In my opinion, we needed a) a person who could give us solid advice, and b) a team that could challenge our skills.
a) a person who could give us solid advice
Tofu may be somewhat self-sustainable, with Leaf and I being the resident Splatoon 2 geeks and slap being well-read. However, it’s sometimes better to find someone with a more neutral and experienced view, especially considering that we don’t have much long range specialists and I was learning Rapid Blaster Pro. But where can we find that someone when everyone is potentially our foe?
The answer is simple: someone from overseas.
Or to be more precise, Rezizard.
During the last Malaysia Splatoon 2 Gathering, Rezi and I had a brief chat on his play history: he was a competitive battler who decided to retire and found more joy in organising and coaching.
An experienced eye was what we need! With that in mind, I invited him to watch our battles with the expectation that he would give us a summary of what to fix and such.
What he gave in return far exceeded my expectations: multiple videos of our matches with full blown analysis of what went right, what went wrong and gear checks:
(The following videos covered mainly Clam Blitz and long range positioning tips:)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gN1fYDCQpw0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD_8Xxuv9AE His videos painted a clear picture, and opinions and analysis were well-received. His drawings were received with some playful snarks from Leaf, and some of his words were even memefied (“No more chargers”). It was overall an educational and enjoyable watch.
b) a team that could challenge our skills
A scrim is what Splatoon competitive players called a serious practice match between players to hone and better their skills.
In my Oceanink experience, SOTONG team’s level were somewhat on par with Knife & Banana team. Their win rates increased enough to bump them to fourth place in Oceanink Division 4 after the inclusion of RayRay-- an Ink Brush user who was the inspiration for louhai to have picked his soul weapon. Therefore, I had invited them for a scrim in hopes that the “Inspiration” and the "Inspired” could meet together, and to make louhai’s flame burn brighter.
Unfortunately, RayRay could not make it, and the scrim became a bit of a joke when players started using themed weapons. This results Rezi being pissed because it defies how a scrim should be, louhai being sad for not being able to see RayRay, and my team being disappointed with the fact that opponents aren’t serious enough to match their passion.
In order to maintain Rezi’s attention and to get him further invested in our progress; in order to restore my team’s faith in international teams; I turned to another Singapore team: [ ] Nameless.
[ ] Nameless is a Division 3 team personally coached by Rezi. I remember this as Rezi had once invited MwS to battle Nameless, and it was quite a challenging and fulfilling experience. One of their members, NeoSotong, inspired me to pick up Rapid Blaster again; we remained in brief contact.
Funny how one small connection was able to led to another; due to that, I was able to arrange a SZ and TC scrim with their team schedule-manageress Charmy.
Rezi planned the maps to be used on scrims, our scrims were once again made to videos:
(Following vids are mostly about Splat Zones, positioning and Dynamo usage:)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_umEMC4rLxA (Splat Zones) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAzLGugPby0 (Tower Control) As expected of Rezi’s team, [ ] did not disappoint in providing tough battles to challenge us. Satisfied with the trashing we received, we happily agreed on a Rainmaker-focused scrim so that Rezi could make vod (yes, vod, which stands for video on demand) out of it.
3) Enter Kuniki
The combination of Leaf’s procon getting fixed and RSI finals clashing with his Malaysia-Singapore trip puts a damper in Leaf’s motivation to play. As such, Tofu decided to get a 6th member in case Leaf could not play during his vacation.
The first candidate that popped into my mind was Kuniki.
Kuniki and I, our first meeting was an odd one. We first met in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, where I fulfilled his request for Splatoon amiibo-exclusive furnitures. We would then meet again in Splatoon 2 under louhai’s North and South Bros Whatsapp group.
NCY often spoke highly of Kuniki’s skill, and I remembered feeling the same after witnessing him fighting like a whirlwind-- charging into enemy’s base to wreak havoc, and escaping unscathed.
Kuniki is a bit of a lone wolf... or at least, that was the feel I get when I got to know more about him from NCY in the past, the same feel I got when I was in MwS chat. He doesn’t... “belong” anywhere.
With everyone’s blessing, I invited Kuniki in hopes that he could fill Leaf’s shoes, but at the same time I was worried; the loss of Leaf would put a dent on Tofu’s confidence, for Leaf is a strong battler and his strength gave others to fight..  I invited Kuniki in hopes that his presence would give Tofu the same confidence that Leaf could instil, and soften the blow of Leaf’s loss. But to me, no players are ever fully replaceable.
Could Kuniki really fill his shoes? Stay tune to find out.
TO BE CONTINUED...

down to 15 weapons left in splatoon 1. and 16k left until i fill all of the slots (just striped peaks ls and white ls left, which each have the first slot filled because i probably got them from spyke that way)
i have tomorrow off, so i think i'll try to fit in 9 (3 per rotation as usual) and then do the last 6 the next day. then i'll be done. won't even have to skip days to play splatfest instead
the plan was to finish off whatever slots i had left once i get to aerospray rg (the 9th next one i'll get to) since it inks super well, but with 27 battles until i'd finish my 3 aerospray ones anyway i'd only need an average of 600 points for each. so it's looking like i'd probably be done by then actually
speaking of aerospray, i just had a battle with the pg where all my teammates were chargers, so i'm like ok i need to play aggressively so i can protect them. so i did. between my experience maining the rg for much of s1, and the splat dualies (burst bombs) for s2, i really enjoyed that thing. also at this point gotten quite a bit of kraken usage (prior to coming back to the game i'd only used s1's kraken in amiibo challenges) so i made pretty effective use of it too. other times lately i've found that a team with 3 chargers is pretty much dead but... we won easily
