hello strangers. I’m going to be self-releasing my first EP --- ‘Live From The Meadow’ --- later this year, in the autumn. Dedicated to, written for, composed by ‘The Meadow’, in which I have walked alone, and with love, and every other quiet tread I take. I have been recording small things since 2019 but this is the first time I have formed songs. I have been shy these years, recording just for myself, on my walks, but now it has been rewarding to work towards something, however small it may be. This year I played live music for the first time, for someone else's songs. Things open up. Despite being a visual artist I have commissioned a beautiful artwork from a friend. I have been a guitar player for over 30 years. It’s my musical mother tongue. Synths are fun to mess with. Voltages triggering sounds that I get to react to and manipulate. But I was wrestling with things that needed me to be the voltage. The catalyst for sound. And it needed to be loud. I rediscovered how high gain and high volume with an electric guitar makes the instrument self-resonate and wail. It needs very little manipulation to roar to life. Much like when life pummels us with stressful events. The more of that stress we have, the lower our distress tolerance becomes so that we find ourselves easily triggered to anger over the simplest inconveniences. My guitar mirrored this for me. It would hiss and hum, scream and roar in sympathy with my nervous system like a tuning fork struck next to a piano. Like a divining rod pointing to a hidden well. In this case, a hidden sea.

My second solo album Ventschau is mixed and mastered and i am - looking for a label -

It is a continuation of the sonic world of my first album Bibrax, contains more elements of song and melody, is inspired by the ever-abundant welcome and rooting effects that being in a real forest has on me.  12 years after accidentally sneezing over the strings of an electric guitar, the many facets of using blowing techniques still fill me with wonder and excitement. It feels to me as if there’s enough for a lifetime to explore the lands, flora and fauna of this new and unknown continent on planet guitar.

A recent try-out concert in Amsterdam in January 2024 was a surreal trip and went very deep, I will never forget that one. My new compositions and new sound came out nicely and I must say that I rarely got such overwhelming response from an audience. I look forward to share this new sound with the world and to play live much, much more again.   Greetings, and peace now RV
