Arguably one of the most poignant pieces of jazz ever written was Billy Strayhorn's "Blood Count." Lead sax with The Duke's [Ellington] band was Johnny Hodges ,, they played it only once after Strayhorn passed. Hodges' sax was crying. Check it out ,, Strayhorn wrote that piece from his hospital bed after being told his leukaemia was terminal. This piece, Lush Life, was written earlier ,, Tragedy is not racist. If anyone's interested I'll shoot this and the page 2 through on DM.

Thank you to the legendary Mike Watt for having me as a guest on The Watt From Pedro Show. It was an incredible experience to be able to have a conversation with one of my biggest musical heroes.
