I'm sorry, but what kind of accent does Ivan have? He's the only sim who speaks that way and now that he's more in focus, I can't help but wonder where he comes from! Also, while I'm at it, I've also noticed that you stay loyal to the Sim world ("speaking in Tartosan" "a Tartosan goddess", etc), and while it's obvious that Tartosa was based on Italy and Spain, do you imagine your characters being from real countries and with distinct cultural backgrounds?

1️ For legacies/stories, I usually build things myself! The only lots/sims I've downloaded are @natolesims' Stardew Valley Sims (helllllooooo sebastian) and specific SDV lots from ts4 galley. I also download high school lots from the galley. I've tried making schools and they never come out right.

2️⃣I've built all the legacies houses in my Insecta & Postcard legacy! I've watched a TON of videos on how to build big legacy house s, so I'm super proud of the final versions I'm currently using. eren - groaner, definitely. but he tries to hold himself back so a lot of the time it comes out like little breathy huffs or throaty sounds because he's lowkey a little embarrassed about being vocal in bed because he sees it as a "girl thing". so that just makes it all the more rewarding when he finally lets go and lets himself make noise in bed. also a huge fan of dirty talk. he always knows exactly what i need to hear, whether it's something nasty or something sweet. he's very intuitive and good at reading body language so he's good at stoking that fire, but sometimes when he's in "demon mode" he just goes nuts and says crazy, nasty stuff the whole time.

jean - sooo loud in bed. so vocal it's insane! moaning, groaning, whimpering--this man does not hold anything back. he's also a big dirty talk guy but the closer he gets to finishing, the less coherent he becomes until he's just a little babbling mess, it's very adorable.

satoru - won't shut up in bed. he's not even moaning or groaning, he's just running his mouth. loves to say the most out-of-pocket shit he can think of, just to see if i have any sort of reaction to it and the SECOND he finds something that i'm into, he will not drop it. if i accidentally moan a little louder when he's talking about tying me up, suddenly he's going all in on the topic. talking about different ways he'd tie me up to the bed, maybe he'd even figure out how to hang me from the ceiling? "you'd like that, wouldn't you?"

suguru - actually pretty quiet in bed! not in the way that eren is, where he's holding himself back, but suguru is just so tense all the time that i think it's difficult for him to really relax, even during sex and that's why he's such a giver 👀 but same with eren, when he does make noises, it's like a reward. for dirty talk, it's all praise--how good it feels, how pretty i look, how in love he is--so it really makes sex feel like we're making love rather than fucking like the other boys.

im sorry i didnt get to this earlier, i was waiting to be more awake but im literally getting worse LOL. but it made me so happy ;_; thank you thank you thank you, for being far too kind abt my art 😭 im so fuckingglad i finally got a tablet during my crazy ass wayhaven renaissance because there could not be a sweeter group of people to share stuff with 🫂♥️

for the oc ask… well i just gotta do dev/mason theyre in my minds microwave 24/7 rn (hope the ceiling fan falls on them btw)

some of this is a bit more association than true description of character bc i could go on forever listing stuff for both of them.. but for dev w mason it would be two big things at their current standstill:

- marlboro reds; her favourite — she is in the middle of quitting smoking in book 1 so him constantly lighting up with her cigs of choice, as well as just being rude and grating on her already thin nerves, drove her barking mad insane. by book 2 she is floundering hard and asks for one after he shows up at the station. when he says no and that she’s supposed to be quitting she gets a bit pissed and makes him put out smokes anytime thereafter out of pettiness. also reds…… strong, numbingly intense, addictive, etc. sums up the early stages of their arrangement :D

- definitely the wolf cub from the carnival game! deva is hugely sentimental (to a concerning degree — she is a hoarder yay disaster apartment option) though would never admit to it. she still keeps raggedy decades old stuffed animals from when rook was around that she just cannot say goodbye to 🤦‍♀️ and she refuses to let herself get attached to mason on any meaningful emotional level so those budding feelings in book 3 kind of manifest on the wolf cub without her realizing it (i was so glad there’s a little part abt the detective saving their carnival prize after the apartment gets flooded because Very Deva, that thang is her whole support network) (plus when mason inevitably bails during the night she has smth to cuddle because objects dont leave no sir . Rebecca get this girl a therapist)

- and one smaller thing im still playing w is red jasper crystal 🙇🏻‍♀️

maybe she sees them in the crystal store. I colour pick from these when i draw him LOL

for mason wrt deva — not an object but just straight up chaos tbh. at where they are in book 3 i imagine every time he sees the detective his brain is going question mark question mark. and hes definitely not sentimental in the way Dev is that certain objects would have any sort of emotional stir in reminding him of her. mason definitely goes more on how she makes him feel; really fucking good, really fucking confused, really fucking messy (like her apartment which he HAAAAATES), and on a few occasions now… weirdly serene. cant make sense of it; doesnt even understand why hes bothering TRYING to make sense of it but here he is and it’s happening and it has never happened before and THAT is probably the best way he could encapsulate her at this point in their relationship… other than, yknow, encapsulating in other ways 🫢

hello, i have been wanting to watch PPP's other films since watching Salò (and your blog reminded me that i must do this), though i wasn't aware that he had a body of literature until only recently ... do you have suggestions for reading order/where to start with his writing? ty!

Hello my dear anon, thank you for this wonderful and very interesting ask I needed some time to prepare to answer to!

under the cut for ME YAPPING!

You will be surprised to know that in Pasolini's country (that is also mine, after all), Italy, he's not well known as a filmmaker, but rather as a journalist, politic figure, writer and, most importantly, as a poet! He's called "the last poet of Italy" or "the poet of the ashes" (the little bastard gave himself this cool nickname lmao), and he's considered one of the greatest poets of the country, and he wrote so, SO many poems i could sincerely not tell you where to start, because I dont know either. He wrote between 15 and 20 books of poetry; his poems are highly political, nesting in the climate of political tension and chaos of post-war Italy between the 50s and the 70s. There's also poems about his little brother Guido's terrible death during WWII and the loss Pier Paolo had to deal with, and also the collection of sonnets about the end of his weird psycho-romantic-queerplatonic-whateverthefuck-relationship. It's difficult readings, and surely its not possible to read all of them in one-go. But sometimes I read some of them, PPP was a great poet after all.

He wrote less narrative, but still extremely important: i think it's best to start here, as i started too. His first published narrative book is Ragazzi di Vita, in 1955. If you follow me, you probably know it, since i have this teeenyyy tiinyyy hyperfixation on it at the moment. Outside Italy it went with various names: "The Ragazzi", "Boys Alive", "Street Boys" etc... i recommend this book. Because its amazing. A book written by a poet will be weird to read, but its a good weird; the characters and their adventure seem ones of a comic book or a film, rather than a "normal" book. I'm re-reading it, and doing a summary chapter for chapter for my friend, adding the Content Warning so desperately needed in this very crude, very "traumatic" and very funny book, that, remember, has been written in the 50s so it has its ye olde times flaws (not too many, luckily). It's weird, but its really worth it. Also canonical mlm couple yay!

Ragazzi di Vita has a "sequel" called Una Vita Violenta (a violent life), but, to be completely honest, i didnt really like it... sounds more of a real boring book than a "comic" like RdV. Also way too long. Also way too heterosexual. Cmon Pier Paolo, you can do better.

Petrolio is the last book PPP wrote. It's... uhm... there's words in it? It has... pages? Idk what to say about Petrolio. It has serious socio-politics and it has AO3 Dead Dove fics in it. It has similiar taboo topics to Salò, but it's written in a way that's not possible to understand, on purpose; yes Pier Paolo died before finishing it, but it's unclear if he even WANTED to finish it in the first place.

There's other books like La Divina Mimesis, Il Sogno di una cosa, Amado Mio; and then his essays about italian society and politics. I'm reading Scritti Corsari right now, and its difficult, but fun...

So in the end, my recs are: Ragazzi di Vita surely, if you can deal with the CW (violence, underage sex, suicide, death. And some other more. I mean, you saw Salò, you know the drill with Pier Paolo's art), then you can go a bit wild: in "Alì dagli occhi azzurri" there's a mix of his poems, writings and one-shots; "La lunga strada di sabbia" is a 1959 reportage on Italy from the north to the south to the north again, circling all the beaches of the peninsula. Cute and interesting. It went well! We hung out and talked for like 2 hours. I think she had a good time. We didn’t realize how late it was and when I checked the time she said “oh wow, it’s [time]? you’re fun to talk to,” and we have a couple common interests (and some of her’s I don’t share but find eally interesting lol). I think I made a friend :-)) I got her phone number (didn’t have it prior) written down by her too so hopefully we can text now.

I might put it in my scrapbook? I mean, I don’t know if it’ll be of any significance to me down the line (like we might not become really good friends or stay friends or whatever but if we do) and if it does that would be a neat thing to have. I’m also VERY new to scrapbooking and it could be a nice little practice run? I have this other event I really wanna scrapbook but I haven’t yet because I need more materials but also because I don’t really know what I’m doing and so maybe it would be nice to do a low stakes thing, yk? Also, she wrote it down in purple ink, so. Aesthetically pleasing.

Here's a lighthearted story I have to share from today's class to make up for all the sad STEM talk!

The air conditioning was on full blast today and I was wearing the thinnest button up, so I was kinda cold. My friend offered me her jacket, and I proceeded to keep it on for the rest of the class. When we were leaving, I stood up to wait for her and she took a moment to stare at me and then said that I looked good in the jacket.

Insert bi panic.
