oh yeah ivalician moogles would be huge

but after playing ff9 i can also say that we NEED burmecians like freya eventually. square enix where the FUCK is my rat person race.

(in all seriousness i actually really hope they don't add any new races for a couple more expansions and instead focus 8.0 and 9.0 on addressing every complaint about current race options as well as adding more customization to existing races. body types, more faces, etc.)

I was able to do art for the first time in years recently, and I absolutely WENT OFF! The muses put me in a headlock and didn't let me go until they were satisfied, so this boi got done just in time for Halloween!

The amount of detail i put into this guy is INSANE! But the glazing and light filters messed up the small details that were only really visible anyway at 800% zoom, so i'll be including those under the cut.

Embroidery

Almost every embroidered symbol is unique, only mirrored on the other side of the coat. From top to bottom: the Nobody symbol, the Heartless symbol, a symbol found in the old mansion in Traverse down combining the fleur-de-lis heart and a crown, the symbol of Ansem the Wise, the Kingdom Hearts symbol, a stylized rose, an eight pointed star, the player pin from The World Ends With you and the one from the sequel, a symbol found in Scala ad Caelum, a rounded star, a book, scales of justice, a beaker, Sephiroth's symbol with the wing inside the meteor, Shinra's logo, the buster sword from Final Fantasy 7, a chocobo, a cactuar, a moogle, fleur-de-lis, Red XIII, the Unversed symbol, Nobody symbol, Heartless symbol, Kingdom Hearts symbol, Roxas’ symbol, Eraqus’ symbol, numbers 1-14 in roman numerals.

The general mirroring stops here, and the symbols on the right are: a sun, moon, pentacle, meteor, hidden Mickey/lucky emblem, demon and angel wings on a heartless symbol representing Riku, sea salt ice cream and a thalassa shell for Xion, and Roxas’ symbol and a cut-off Oathkeeper keyblade.

On the inside of the coat’s embroidery are funny easter eggs to fill out the space because I ran out of ideas, from right to left: Sans, Loss.jpg, Amogus, Anarchy symbol, the cool S, the symbol for pi, Bill Cipher, Kirby, Ali from “Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun”, Elmo, a rat, a bat, the Palestinian flag and a watermelon (free Palestine!), two band-aids, the Pokémon type symbols for ghost psychic and dark-types, and the Genshin Impact element icons in order as they appear on the loading screen.

Meet my FFXIV OC's:

Alinea Skylark

My main girlie!

Age: early 30's after Endwalker. She doesn't actually know when her birthday is, but after comparing to others, that's what she guestimates.

Unsundered life: She was happily married to Hades and Hythlodaeus, and her little brother, Themis, was the absolute apple of her eye. Her name was Emmeline, though once she became Azem, only the aforementioned people ever called her by her true name. She loved her work and got along well with everyone on the Convocation.

Alinea has full recollection of her unsundered life, but after the events at Ultima Thule, she's able to find peace and move on with her life as Alinea Skylark. Her and Estinien start dating shortly after, much to Alphinaud's delight and Alisae's horror. Currently, she's just trying to relax as much as possible before the next adventure sweeps her away.

Aurora Calypso

Age: 21 after Endwalker.

Unsundered life: She remembers bits and pieces of her life as Azem, and cares deeply for Hades, Hythlodaeus, and Themis, but doesn't remember any personal connection or attachment. The one thing she does remember is that her name was Echo.

The events in Shadowbringers and Endwalker took a heavy toll on Aurora's body. She's slowly recovering and is currently taking a tour with Erenville of all their favorite places across Etheirys. She loves her carbuncle, Monty, and he is absolutely spoiled.

Annabeth Rose

Age: 36 or so at the end of Endwalker

Unsundered Life: She was both Azem and sister to Hades. She knew that Hades was planning to propose to Hythlodaeus, but then the final days happened. Her name name then had been Eleonora.

Annabeth has a twin brother, Felix, who she adores, as well as many younger siblings that she also cares for and keeps in contact with. She has an extremely large extended family, most of whom consist of characters who I've saved from their in-game fates :P

Alira Thorne

Age: 32 at the end of Endwalker

Unsundered Life: Her name was Eris and she loved being Azem. She loved going from town to town, meeting and learning from the people, and helping wherever she could. Her best friends where Hades and Hythlodaeus and she had the great honor of officiating their wedding.

She had a very traumatic upbringing that caused her to push people away for the longest time. Only during Stormblood, does this come to a head and she starts working on the path to find inner peace. This comes in the form of becoming a Dark Knight. Thanks to Rielle, Fray, and the moogles, her and Sid work through their pasts together and eventually start dating. Her and Sid have a little girl after the events of Shadowbringers who Rielle names Sibbie.

AU

In an alternate timeline, all the girls work together, going from ARR to EW. Most of the above information holds, with the only change being that Aurora worked in the Capital as a record taker of the convocation of fourteen meetings. She was adored by all, and knew the goings on and kept quiet on them all. All the 14 would talk to her as an impartial party when they were musing on issues, and she was good at providing input and questions in a way to help them think.

They are all fiercely protective of each other and love each other dearly. They often go on trips together with their significant others and families too.

Rally-ho! Now that I finished Tales of Berseria, I'm back to playing Final Fantasy IX! We left Pinnacle Rocks and are heading over to Conde Petie and the BMV. The scene leaving Pinnacle Rocks is really sad but also beautiful.

An update to the eggs in the nest in Lindblum. Also that machine chasing Zidane is anxiety-inducing.

Right so the Primal Pipeline is:

Ifrit, Primal with only enough crystals to summon it but barely enough to maintain him. Titan with slightly more crystals to maintain him and summon him. Garuda with a buttload of crystals to maintain her and plenty of...”subjects” to draw from. Ultima Weapon drawing upon the strength of all of these. A weakened Paragon of the Ascians who is deadly but whose body hopping and general madness has left them lesser for it. Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda properly fed. Moogle Mog who is documented but never really seen before. Leviathan a threat big enough to destroy Limsa and well fed. Shiva a different kind of Primal we hadn’t faced off against. Nabriales, a lesser Ascian but still seated and we’re without Hydaelyn’s “Blessing” though retconly not really without our Mark of the Traveler. A semi-reconstructed Bahamut who isn’t at his prime but growing towards that after five years of hibernation. Ravana, a none-too-well documented primal among Dravania. Bismarck also a new entry to the primal documentation. Thordan and the Knights of the Heavens Ward empowered by one of Nidhogg’s eyes and some Lahabrea Energy drink. A fully empowered shade of Nidhogg with both eyes intact and only Hraesvelgr’s eye protecting us from his brothers chaotic energies. Three Primals ancient and sealed away from the time of the Allagan Empire when aether is more plentiful and the world hadn’t suffered from two other calamities yet. Susanoo a kami we do not know of empowered through a different means that we’re use to. Lakshmi similarly empowered like Susanoo. Shinryu which is being puppeted by Zenos who...though excited by possessing another being isn’t really on his A-Game in this new experience. Tsukuyomi empowered by Yotsuyu’s hatred and a mirror provided by Elidibus. Our first Lightwarden in Philia. Tough but starved and actively hunting for food so not too much power. The King of the Fae, Titania infected by Light energies. After which, Storge and Eros who are secluded away from actively hunting out aether are dungeon bosses due to them technically not being well fed. Innocence, a very well fed Vauthry hybrid human and lightwarden. Given YEARS of prayer and being allowed to feast on aether freely now reaching the pinnacle of his changes.

An actually, fully powered Paragon of the Ascians who is putting on a performance more than he is actually fighting us. Elidibus who is infused with the prayers of the shades and memories of Warriors of Light from all existing shards, once the heart of Zodiark and bringing his full might against us. Rendering Primals like the Magus Sisters being puppeted by Fandaniel more or less and Anima, a newly born Primal weaker but still dangerous opponents. Then Zodiark, the eldest and most powerful of primals, yes, but also only 8 out 14 formed and being piloted by Fandaniel to bring about the Final Days rather than actually fighting with his full might. Then Hydaelyn who is bringing her full might against us but is weakened from the calamities and years of enduring holding Zodiark and everything in place as we went on our journey. And then the Endsinger newly released and bringing world ending despair against us making her almost killing us being a true threat. Then we have the trials of the Archfiends which are ancient and well fed voidsent. One of which is the weakest of the four, one of which is fighting in her own turf, another sent as a decoy and not on his turf and finally one who is fighting in another world after expelling aether to seal the way back to the Void.

Each would be/trial boss pretty much having a reason why they are dungeon boss or an actual trial fight while also slowly showing the ramping up of our strength against each one.

got my 964 moogle stones. bought so many items. i run a mildly cluttered inventory but still, like i nearly ran out of bag slots while purchasing it all.

realized i think i want one more item. :| so a 14 and a 6 raid/dungeon tomorrow (lol that'll be a total of 984 then), and then it'll be done done. for real this time.

finally finished (?) that one xzl todd riordan quest, which seemed to be mostly how many times can they send you to scaelgorge waterscape. used to love having to go there bc it's so pretty, but back and forth 3x in one quest kinda maybe ended that. quest end said he might contact again but i hope not. also finally making myself dig into those challenge quests i've been ignoring. did one, have one more on xzl and two in belobog still to do. tired of ignoring them, and i could use credits. and was reminded i still have to finish the treasure chests there too.

character: Cota time period: Shadowbringers

Cota sat lost in thought on the edge of the lake, bare feet idly swirling the water. A dangerous position, but they and the Fuath had reached a certain understanding after the defeat of the previous King Titania. Being impossible to drown and connected to the current king probably helped as well. Buildings glimmered beneath the surface, bathed in true sunlight for the first time in a century through water clearer than the finest glass.

Il Mheg was beautiful, and Cota was connected to it in some deep way they could not understand. The pixies were the most obvious link - each bearing smaller versions of the same wings as Cota, each genderless as Cota was…. even their sharp features bore a certain resemblance. Yet how was it possible? There were no pixies on the Source, at least that they had ever heard of. But it wasn't… just the pixies. The Nu Mou… even the Fuath… also brought out some vague feeling of connection that was almost… possessive? The Amaro didn't seem to bring out the same feelings, for all that Cota loved them.

The one time they could remember feeling such a connection on the Source had been…. the Sylphs. Another type of fae, they were certain of it. No wait, it hadn't been just the Sylphs… Moogles as well, also very fae-like.

And Titania…. seeing the Lightwarden, and then Feo Ul after they took on the mantle of King… It had sent the oddest jolt of familiarity through them, for all they were certain they'd never seen the like before. … Almost… almost like unexpectedly encountering a mirror.

Urianger had admitted to Cota that he'd settled here in part to try to research the connection between them and the Pixies, but he'd managed to find no certain links, only the increased certainty that there was one.

Muireann wants to be seen as Good. Which....is vague and big and broad. She wants to be like one of the heroes in the stories the moogles told her when she was a kid. She wants to be seen as kind and thoughtful and brave and generous, but also shrewd and powerful and not one to be crossed.

She doesn't always manage it. But striving for that fairytale ideal of a Good Hero(tm) is one of the things that prompted her to aid the Scions in the first place and is a big factor in her sticking around after so long and going through so much. Considering that they haven't kicked her out she must be doing something right!!

Anyway, Roxas's diary confirms the voice was Kairi's, not Riku's. It is her first line from KH1, I forgot that.

Xion apparently had a shell for each day Roxas was sleeping, but obviously the amount of models do not correspond to that.

There are empty diary notes for Days 27-28, but there is a note for Day 26, which was written much after, likely on Day 50.

Demyx wanted me to redo Mission 14 (Darkside one) to collect the chests, so I did. Xion can do Blizzard now, even though I don't have it (well, it is in my bag). He gave me a Shining Shard.

Xigbar states during Roxas's sleep, all the C.O. members died. Axel isn't counted in this, of course.

Org. Moogle also has a joke comment.

Roxas asks Saix about the C.O. crew, Saix states he will do solo missions for a while.

Like previously, I did one of the optional missions first, this time the Deserters in Agrabah mission.

Day 51's diary entry states that Roxas believes Axel is gone like the rest of the C.O. crew.
