Your mind is loud, you hear nothing from the outside, but you feel like everyone can hear whatever mess is happening inside your head. There’s days with and days without- but most days are not good days. Every little thing gets to your head- and not in a good or self absorbed way. It gets to a point where you wish you could shut it all off.

Where you wish you could stop time for just ten minutes, take a breather, take a break, and time where no one talks, no one judges, where you can’t hear anyone’s thoughts on you, or what you think they think about you.

If someone does so much as look at you, most times you convince yourself that they hate you. Dean knows that. He knows how much your brain plays tricks on you. How your brain works so well to make you hate yourself, to make you wonder if you’re good enough, if you belong here, or even if him-or Sam deserve this. Deserve to have you around- someone who’s sad, who pretends and fakes her way towards being happy, someone who thinks so little of themselves.

It wasn’t this way when you met. You were full of life- or almost. Your smile didn’t look fake, and it actually reached your eyes most times. Now? Now you’re like a ghost. Because this life- it takes a toll on you. It builds you up with adrenaline only to break you down when you realize what just happened. It’s always like that- it doesn’t matter if it’s an easy case or one that gives you nightmares for months.

You’ve come so close to losing them too many times, that now all you can feel is sadness. This numbness inside you, where you can’t feel anything anymore. You don’t feel the pain, you don’t even feel the sadness, you barely feel the love.

You feel the apprehension that something might happen. You know- that something will happen eventually and that you’ll end up alone. At least that’s how you feel.

Dean tries. He tries so hard to make you see that you matter, that he’s there for now and that’s what’s important, the what ifs are stupid, and you shouldn’t think like that.

He knows that you hate it. And you know he’s trying to help- but it doesn’t. It worries you more, to think that he doesn’t care about when he’s going to meet his end- because you think about that every day. Every moment you wonder if this will be the last. If this’ll be your last kiss, your last hug, your last ‘I love you’ or your last hunt. Dean knows that’s you’re depressed, he’s not stupid. Neither are you- you’re not necessarily in denial, but you hate the thought of being that- it feels like a disease. A disease that eats you alive slowly.

Dean makes you happy. He knows he does- he knows he’s enough, but he can’t help wondering when you’re going to break- if you are. You hold it together well, though sometimes it happens that you break down in his arms, but Dean doesn’t talk. He strokes your hair. He holds you. He holds you because he loves you, because he’s just the same. He doesn’t talk about it, but you know. You know he gets you because he’s been through the same. He gets it because he knows what it’s like to drown in your thoughts and your fears. You know he gets you and that’s why you’re with each other. That’s how you complete one another- with the sadness. Maybe that’s sad- maybe that’s not a good thing- but it works for you because you’ve found balance. Balance in the sadness, in the worry, and in the love.

You help each other- that’s how you get through it.

surprised but has gotten used to it whenever he sees you gushing about something cute you saw the other day or even just a cute bird you saw when walking too ramshackle. he doesn't really understand it, especially when you find yourself getting emotional over it—! he gives you wide eyes unsure of what to do. the first time he caught that he thought there was something actually wrong, so he panicked, and you were just like “there was this cute fish… i saw through the window at the mostro lounge…” im sorry but he laughed… but hey he did try to cheer you up… after that.

but when you came up to him teary?! grabbing his face and telling him how cute he is he gets all wide eyed and surprised as he stares at you before laughing and pulling away rather quickly with his cheeks all flushed. ace makes some painful attempt at joking and laughing off, acting all confused as you are why you’re suddenly doing this— you usually do this to cute pets or cute items not him!

sometimes whenever you take pictures on your ghost camera of him and show him, simply rambling and talking all about how cute he looks. (he claims he's not cute he's cool!!) but he can't deny the fact that he is totally sucking up and loving the positive attention from you.

floyd leech

he fluctuates between saying its cute as well or laughing at you because he finds your reaction cute and silly. most likely a mixture of the two. your fascination with cute animals and especial sea creatures as you're practically begging him to take you down to the coral sea so he can show you them all, he was the one to playfully propose that idea anyway.

he gets such an ego boost whenever you go on about how cute you think he is, he finds himself wearing and doing things more to get that reaction out of you. like though jade or especially azul chastise him about being more dressed formally when working at the mostro lounge— he told them that he kept the bedhead because you told him it looked cute on him, so he had to keep it obviously. he also comes up to you all the time and shows you something like ‘eel socks’ he bought and showed you because he knew you’d find them cute.

floyd can get a little bitter without shame when your attention and practically cooing over something or someone else. he’ll do anything to turn your direction back on him. which he finds to be quite easy because its usually something like giving you some cute charms or keychains he found at some shop and got it for you, that tends to do the trick hehe.

trey clover

he gets all bashful and surprised whenever you come up to him and hold his face in your hands telling him how cute you find him. he’s never really been one to think of himself as ‘cute’ if you will, that's more of someone like cater's thing. yet he is flattered nevertheless when you go on and on telling him what you find most endearing about him.

trey likes to ask you for advice for decorating treats and cakes as you always seem to get excited over choosing and telling him how to make it as cute and pretty as possible. and though it's not always his style, he does admit that you have a good eye for aesthetics.

does get a little concerned when you tend to become emotional about it as he feels like something is genuinely wrong with you and wants to figure out the issue— when it turns out it was just because riddle allowed you to hold heartslabyul's hedgehogs and you started bawling because they were too cute and small. poor treys heart, he was stressing out when he found you brought to tears…!

Feels Like We Only Go Backwards, by @dubsdeedubs / WDW; complete multichapter. A heartbreaking concept with a happy ending. Sad but wonderful and a really fun idea. Working out just what is happening is a great challenge, and watching the pieces fall into place with mounting consternation is awesome.

In Search of Antidotes, by @astriiformes / azhdarchidaen; complete multichapter. An awesome Historical AU, and neither Ford nor Stan go through the portal (there’s still suffering though). Bit of freakiness, bit of funniness, bit of stubbornness, bit of coolness. A very cool read! A much more classic demon-possession story than canon with its modern sci-fi overtones. The gothic sci-fi horror takes the floor here. Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein, Dracula, it takes inspiration from all the best roots!

Just a Game, by @nikxation / nikxation; one-shot. Intense! High stakes! Well-written! Doesn’t mess around getting to the point, and hammers its beats into you! LOVE it! Bill holds a gun on Ford, while in Ford's own body. The tension in this is unbelievable!

An Outreached Hand, by @dubsdeedubs / WDW; incomplete multichapter. Something freakishly supernatural happened to Stan during his homeless days. It’s called Ghost Trick AU, and it’s super interesting and utterly engaging! It’ll have you tearing through it wanting to know what the heck is going on! The characters are all so intense in their own ways, and the plot is drip fed to you piece by delicious piece.

Snapshots from an Alternate Reality, by Rethira; one-shot. PORTAL STAN!! Just a short little one-shot about this alternate version of events, but incredibly cool to read. Love the writing style: it takes you through the scenes like a skipping stone, its wake mesmerising.

All Things Go, by @cantica10 / Cantica10; incomplete multichapter. A weird (in the best way) idea of a crossover between Timestuck AU (where Mabel is trapped in the past) and a Wings AU (where, you guessed it, everyone has wings). Adorable Stan and Mabel bonding, but is SO not afraid to get really dark. That being said, it’s also so sweet and fluffy, and explores the effortless love that Mabel feels for Stan, and that (broken, scared, young, sad) Stan feels for her. This is one of those fics I am compelled to keep coming back to. It’s such a full experience to read.

Snow and Pine, by @ancientstone / TheArchaeologist; incomplete series. A great concept!! Loved the idea of these two brothers being forced together by circumstances instead of intention. Some great selective description here, and the plot itself is a very fun ride. WERE. WOLF. STAN. Need I say more?

Lighthouse Keeper, by @impishnature / impish_nature; incomplete series. There’s a lot to this story; the main work is mostly a series of one-shots, with other works sprinkled between. The idea is so eerie and haunting, and the vibes are pretty different to most other things I’ve read. The instigating artwork by @sightkeeper is magnificent and Imp has managed to capture the images very well!

Triptych, by @scribefindegil / scribefindegil; one-shot. A very cool character study on Stan. Great for informing his central motivations. It's kept short and sweet, but the analysis is no less thorough for it. I loved the insight into my favourite character's life and mind. Scribe writes him so well.

Blind Faith, by pinesinthewoods; complete multichapter. Come on, how could I NOT mention this one? It's one of the many here I'm astonished not to have rec'ed earlier. Super dark, super scary, an AU where both Stan and Ford fall into the portal. Ouch, but cool. Really good, but be prepared to yell out loud in horror. This is a doozy, don’t expect a lot of happy feels going into it. That being said, it is INCREDIBLE. The structure of the story is fantastic, perfectly encapsulating the reliance each of the brothers’ needs to have on the other and how one has to step up when the other can’t. Stan and Ford are forcibly tied together in this, and they find they each mean more to the other than expected after ten years of bitterness and radio silence. A STAPLE of Gravity Falls fics.

Like They Were a Perfect Fit, by @sensitiveowl / hapful; one-shot. Aw, ow, cries. Love! Lots of tangled-up emotions and scenes that will tug at your heartstrings thinking about Ford’s life journey. Speculations on the importance of the photo that Ford is implied to have carried around with him for 30 damn years.

30 Seconds Later, by @invisibletinkerer / shayera; incomplete multichapter. Loved this to death! A really great concept executed fantastically. An AU where while it took Stan thirty years to rebuild the portal, Ford was only gone for thirty seconds. The characterisation of paranoid Ford and his interactions with the rest of his family are perfect, as is his reaction to finding himself in the future and his relationship to Stan. And Stan is wonderful in this too! A very good examination of age, aging, and the associated changes in perspective.

1 Step Forward, 20 Years Back, by @infriga / Ppleater; complete multichapter. An AU where Stan is turned into a kid in the midst of Ford’s pre-portal paranoia over Bill. It adopts the wonder and innocence that comes with youth, but still retains the darkness of Stan’s adulthood - wait, actually, his entire life has been kinda dark in this fic. This is one of those fics you can tell the author had a lot of fun with. It’s palpable in the chapter titles and the art :) The illustrations are beautiful, the story is heartfelt, and it is not at all afraid to go into some dark places. A very enjoyable, loveable, read!

The Road in Front of You, by @nicnacsnonsense / Nicnac; complete multichapter. Ford falls through a portal potty and gets dumped in Stan's path. MAN!!! This fic has a really great concept, and Nicnac’s writing is impeccable as always. A great look at Ford and Stan’s relationship post-high school, how their personalities have developed and changed, and most importantly how they reconcile the changes in each other.

Nothing a Little Sleep Can’t Fix, by AkitaFallow; one-shot. Oh MAN. WOW. Okay. A heavier look on the mark Sock Opera leaves on Dipper, featuring repercussions throughout the rest of Dipper’s summer. Absolutely, heartbreakingly, entrancing. The slow build up of the plot perfectly mimics the rising emotions that poor Dipper is struggling to keep a lid on until they inevitably explode, and watching the people who love him pick up his pieces afterwards is just golden.

Ad Infinitum, by @nicnacsnonsense / Nicnac; one-shot. My first read of the Same Coin Theory and it was awesooooooooome!!! There are so many repetitions of phrases that spark in my mind because of how great they were, and the aspects of Stan contrasted with Bill that thread through it are incredible. Kind of an unsettling concept. I couldn’t get enough. For a fic that’s all about cycling around, you'd think it'd get repetitive, but every paragraph is rich with novelty. A FEAST.

Some Sunny Day, by @anistarrose / anistarrose; complete multichapter. Another Same Coin Theory fic. The beats of the plot in this are stunning, with some truly awesome lines that left me reeling and thinking Oh SHIT that did NOT just happen!!! In the best way possible. A highly interesting story and some excellent takes on the Pines family and the world of Gravity Falls.

Towards the Sun, by @notthistimespock and pinesinthewoods; complete multichapter. EXTREME BROTHERLY FEELS. Incredible! Love the in-depth examination and speculation on Ford and Stan prefinale. A different ending for Weirdmageddon, following Ford’s journey through Stan’s mind. It gets sad, it gets scary, it gets freaky, you shed tears. Another one of those staple fics for the fandom. The story is a wild and heartrending adventure, full of imagery that stuck in my brain for years after the first time I read it.

Fisherman’s Knot, by @scribefindegil / scribefindegil; complete multichapter. MORE EXTREME BROTHERLY FEELS. Deals with postcanon adventures on the Stan’O’War II, including some reeeaaaally bad mental states/situations. Have tissues handy. I think this is generally regarded as the be-all-and-end-all of Stan twin angst. It is long, it is HEAVY, but it is also heartwarming and hopeful, and full of adventure and magic, and the kind of love it's made with really comes through.

Mob Boss Stan Pines, by Capricious_Passions; complete multichapter. A fic that you HAVE to read over again to get the complete picture. Complex and well-thought out, incredible attention to detail, but the first read will baffle you! A lot of fun trying to figure out what’s happening, and even more fun on the re-read picking up all the details you missed the first time!

Scrapbook, by Shyeye; complete multichapter. The complicated weight of grief hangs heavy over everyone in the story, and the difficulties in dealing with it are at the forefront of everyone’s minds. The depth each of these characters are written with is very much appreciated, not-so-pretty parts and all. This was a wonderful, touching, read.

Rescind, Reset, by @endae / endae; one-shot. Canon divergence where Mabel temporarily lost her life during Weirdmageddon, and the aftereffects on her and the rest of the family. It is one of the most beautiful things I’ve read, very emotionally raw. I cry every time. This incredible story is wrought with a filter of broken hearts being pieced back together as the characters live through the aftermath of their happy ending. It’s a shining, nuanced take on Mabel and how someone with her personality deals with the plot premise. I love the complexity of the emotions in this, not only from Mabel but also from the rest of the Pines as they work through their own traumas.

Safe as Houses, by @beastenraged / Beastrage; complete multichapter. If I could whistle I would! An entrancing read about the Pines family’s adventures from the perspective of their home. Some great and not too far-fetched ideas about how the Shack may have come across to its inhabitants over the years.

Greyscale, by @impishnature / impish_nature; one-shot. OH MY LORD. Incredibly touching and heartbreaking, I can’t look at this directly for fear of being emotionally blinded. Loss, and gain, and loss. Striking, powerful, so, so beautiful and painful. The aftermath of Weirdmageddon: another canon divergence where Stan lost his life. Except... Reverse Portal AU Stan stumbles across this sad dimension soon after. I swear, no fic has made me cry so hard and left me so much in shock of what the heck just happened to me. I love the look at how loss has affected the characters, and I especially love the path to recovery that is laid out for them.

Buying Gold, by @dubsdeedubs / WDW; incomplete series. Veeeery intriguing. It’s not really Same Coin Theory, but it’s a great read about the similarities between Stan and Bill and some cool speculation on Stan post-defeating Bill.

Any Family You Choose, by @nicnacsnonsense / Nicnac; incomplete multichapter. So sweet! Portal Dipper finds a young Stan Pines and decides to help him out. This concept is so wonderful, and the characterisation is blindingly clear. Keeps you guessing at the backstory!

Across the Universe, by Queen_Mab; one-shot. SUCH a great set of adventures. The multiverse really tries to hammer in its lessons sometimes, whether they stand a chance of sticking or not. Extremely well-written and fun, I devoured every word ravenously. Some scenes of Ford's portal time, with some VERY interesting encounters.

Star Wars

Anything Brighter than Even the Sun, by @hamliet / Hamliet; complete multichapter. The Rogue One crew survives and continues rebelling, as does Galen! The main focus is on Jyn and Cassian's characters and relationship, and how they navigate growing into a family. I love Jyn's character especially in this, with all those hard edges guarding a deep, deep well of passion.

Chirality, by @niobiumao3 / Niobium; complete multichapter. A Tech was CX-2 fic! It's great to see this fan theory explored, and Niobium writes so well! The plot is entrancing and has you hooked on the edge of your seat waiting for all the pieces to fall into place for our poor brainwashed guy. The way CX-2 thinks and melds with the personality of who Tech once was is beautiful and his interactions with his family and Phee are a sight to behold.

Crash Landing by @returnofahsoka / delightwrites; complete multichapter. Another Tech is CX-2 fic, can you tell this idea has a hold of me. The characters' voices in this come through SO clearly, it's insane, and the writing style is perfection. Jumbled and pained and confused and grieving, all threaded through with that little bit of hope. Wonderful.

I'll Keep You Safe (You Keep Me Strong), by @miadeardn / sheikahs; oneshot. An AU where Crosshair's chip never activates and he is as embroiled in adjusting to being on the run with a new little sister as the rest of the Batch. Just a sweet little moment between the two. Both of them are written very in-character, and it's great seeing a side of Crosshair that never came to regard his brothers as his enemies.

Talking in Defence, by @buskuta / buskuta; oneshot. An awesome look at all of Hunter's complicated feelings regarding Omega and Crosshair's relationship post-Tantiss. He's not a paragon of perfection, he's human. I can't emphasise enough how much I love this and how well he's written here.

Unyielding, by Face_of_Poe; complete multichapter. The scene immediately post-reunion between Omega, Hunter, and Wrecker, with some speculation on Crosshair's internal strife at that moment. There's a chapter for each of the remaining Batch and Wrecker's is EXCEEDINGLY well-written in my opinion. We don't get nearly enough exploration in canon or fanon about the depth of his thoughts and feelings.

Plan 100, by Face_of_Poe; complete multichapter. An awesome canon-divergence speculating on Omega and Crosshair's escape from Tantiss. The action is great, the strategy and coded communication is so sharp, and the feeling of desperation as Omega and Crosshair fight to evade recapture is fantastically taut. I especially love the small moments in this showing just how close these two have grown, and, in Crosshair's case, how little he's realised it happening. It feels very true to their characters.

Through Darkness Unknown, by @stardustandash / StardustAndAsh; complete multichapter. Holy shit the stakes are so high in this. A Tech Lives canon divergence of Omega and Crosshair's stay in Tantiss, and you can really FEEL just how helpless they all are to Hemlock's control. I absolutely love how this fic does not pull its punches, really forcing Crosshair and Omega into relying heavily on each other. There's so many great scenes in this that are seared into my brain!!

Ask Yourself, by StoneSage; complete multichapter. Omega is captured by the Empire while Crosshair's still working for them. I freaking love the complicated messiness of Crosshair's response to this- he's constantly challenged to act on the callous persona he projects, and constantly comes up short realising what he's actually willing to do to his family when it comes down to it. Very true to his character, and the quandaries Rampart presents him with a subtly terrifying. A fantastic examination of character and a great plot to go with it.

The Space in Between, by Misvet; incomplete multichapter. A series of stories focusing on the complications and dangers involved with Omega joining the Bad Batch. The writing style is great, the plots are great, the characters are great! It's all great! Just read it!

Maybe Fate Has Different Plans, by hanged_albatross; complete series. God I love this so much. Some incredibly touching and well-written moments of the Bad Batch protecting each other in a dangerous galaxy, with Omega, of course, at the centre. She is characterised so well in this, and constantly written with the idea of despite being so young, she is also no less protective of her brothers than they are of her.

Modern Batch, by kaydear; incomplete series. DUUUUDES just read this. It's such a sweet collection of stories about an alternate universe of the Bad Batch in a contemporary setting. Life is tough and complicated and full of pain, but also there are others right beside you to lean on when you need it, and so life is also full of love. I have cried multiple times while reading and re-reading this.

Skulduggery Pleasant

I Will Lay Me Down, by mcginnis; oneshot. This is perfection. A rewrite of the aftermath of the Lord Vile reveal in Death Bringer. I wish this was canon. Valkyrie and Skulduggery are PERFECTLY characterised in this scene, and the nitty-gritty of how they're both feeling is thoroughly explored and explained, and the tone of the story never once diverges from canon's- it is complicated, dark, and interspersed with ridiculous levity.

Pride and Prejudice

A New Addition, by @ralkana / Ralkana; oneshot. A great fic about Elizabeth and Darcy and childbirth, various moments in this are imprinted in my mind permanently. High emotions all over the place, incredible tension and wonderful dynamics between the two main characters and the rest of the family.

Mr Bennet Travels Through Time, by AMarguerite; oneshot. A truly great fic with a wild concept that totally works. Mr Bennet is actually from the 1990s. Weird and funny, but also touching and sad, and goes leagues towards explaining a lot of this man's quirks and contradictions. I was fully invested in this all the way through reading, and it did not disappoint. Utterly satisfying.

Once Upon a Time

The Worst, by @alchemistc / alchemistique; oneshot. The real-life dynamics of these ridiculous fairytale people had me grinning ear to ear. The mortifying ordeal of your family of fictitious characters helping you move into your college dorm as told from Henry's perspective. Love it to death.

Haunted houses weren't exactly...the group's forte considering what happened with Pecharunt in Kitakami, but you were determined to help your friends conquer their fears of the spooky and unknown.

Plus, it was your birthday, which so-happened to fall on the same day as Halloween.

They couldn't say no, and eventually they all agreed to meet up at nightfall (after your earlier birthday celebration, of course).

Everyone wore their spookiest outfits and headed for the haunted house that was set up in Area 6, where there was also a mellow Halloween party for anyone who didn't want to experience the attraction.

Inside there were just a few generic Halloween decorations, and actors dressed up like the Hex trainer class with zombie motifs and their ghost/psychic/dark Pokémon trained to scare visitors, putting on quite a show.

Upon entering the house, you were able to very quickly put everyone on a scale from most to least brave: Arven, you, Penny, Nemona, Carmine, and Kieran.

Arven did jump at one or two sudden noises, but otherwise thought it was silly that any of this stuff could scare people....

Penny's seen enough horror movies to point out the tropes and make remarks on where the actor are likely to pop up--although one did take her by surprise and she almost dropped her glasses as a result.

Thankfully it was too dark for anyone else to notice.

Nemona genuinely thought one of the actors wanted to battle, and she almost sends out her starter--until you grab her hand and prevent her from wrecking the house, reminding her they're just acting.

She gets flustered and apologizes, and at the end she admits to LOVING the house, eager to go to it next year.

Carmine acts like she's tough shit and ready to defend Kieran....only to be startled and wary of every little noise the house makes.

She refuses to admit that, scoffing if you were to even remotely imply she was scared.

And Kieran is..well..still trying to recover from the "mochi curse" and hides behind you as often as he could (which makes him a prime target for the actors and their Pokémon to spook him), trying to assure himself it's all pretend.

You were worried it was too much for him to handle, but by the time you all get out, he reassures you that it was actually pretty cool.

He wouldn't mind going next year with you all, hoping it'll become a regular thing in this group.

Happy day two of Ghost Swap!

This prompt is "ghost trick crossover/mashup with your favorite niche media of choice" for @the-grey-hunt!

This one's a crossover between Grick and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. Ghost Trick doesn't really have a menu, so here's banana man in LATLE's. No particular reason, I just wanted an excuse to draw that yellow haired guy in grayscale with those cool glowing glasses from LATLE.

both ghost trick lorelei and the laser eyes are really stylish games with a sort of noir aesthetic, but in completely opposite ways, its very interesting to sort of combine them.

anyways ill talk a bit about the menu options themselves for a bit

first, heres latle's menu for reference

starting from the top left, the "Truth recovered" is at 19.05%, which is for the 19th of june, aka grick's birthday 🎉

below that is "Literacy" which is at 0%. lol.

next is "Heart rate." in LATLE this is "Stress level," represented by a heart monitor. i wanted to do a funny dead person joke by making it flatline, but in order for the joke to read you have to know that its a heart monitor, thus the text change.

next is "Current location," which is "Junkyard." the junkyard is probably the most important place is ghost trick, so this was an easy choice.

the final three are "Ghost," "Trick," and "Swap." obviously the ghost and trick are for the game, but swap is there to elude to the ghost swap! clever right? no? well anyways the ghost symbol is the blue, or in this case white, flame of spirits. in the game, the trick symbol is sissel's current face, either the banana man or the blue flame. the banana was wayy too tall, and the flame was a little repetitive, so i went with his "true face." i guess he went back to the junkyard after the game, but hes still banana man? i didnt really think it through that much lol. finally is the swap symbol. originally it was gonna be missile's face, but i couldnt get it to look right, so i just went with a simple circle swapping thing :/.

on the right theres the "Phone book," which is the record keeping thing in ghost trick. in LATLE you have a photographic memory, but sissel has the opposite of that... so he needs something to write things down in.

penultimately is the "Current possesion." this is also a ghost joke about possessing things.

and finally, in LATLE you have a small game-boy inspired sytem called the "BYTE-SEYES," so for ghost trick i traced a DS, because yknow thats what ghost trick originally came out on.

Two Bit loves Halloween, he loved to go trick or treating when he was younger. Now he stays at the house after he takes his little sister trick or treating and let me tell you he decks his house out with all the decorations he can get his hands on. It’s the most popular house in the neighborhood.I feel like he would do a classic Disney character as a costume

Dally is not dressing up and he will claim he doesn’t like Halloween (he does) but he likes to help jump scare kids at Two Bit’s house, it’s the only time he can do this with it getting in trouble lol

Johnny and Ponyboy would probs dress up together if they did but they’re kinda in that awkward teen boy phase where I can’t decide if they’d think it’s too “uncool” to dress up for Halloween but I think they’re in on Dally and Two Bit’s shenanigans for sure

Steve and Soda would probs come up with costumes for them to show off so I’m gonna say they dress up as surfer guys with some Hawaiian shirts unbuttoned 😂 The DX does VERY well with customers that day hehe

Okay I’m sorry this is such a LAME answer but I have no clue if Darry and Betty would dress up for Halloween. They’re def busy and it’s not like highest priority for them but they 10000% are handing out candy and so I feel like Betty would slap together something cute last minute but I’m honestly open to suggestions (modern AU different story, Betty is def LOCKED in on that shit)

My cutest idea is Betty definitely dresses up Pip by using an old sheet with cutouts and making him a ghost dog so he is VERY happy to get all the pats and attention from everyone every time they answer the front door lol. Honestly he’s the star of the show. Idk if yall have ever seen the video of the girl who painted her black lab with some pet safe glow in the dark paint and when you turn off the light it’s a glow in the dark skeleton dog it’s amazing and also that’s something I could see her doing

Do you think Sam and Colby fake their content? I've seen so many people debunk their stuff and it's getting kind of hard for me to truly believe any of what they post. Is there any actual solid evidence that cannot be debunked that they've caught? Something that is genuinely unbelievable and you believe is real?

I don't think they fake their content, honestly. They've worked with a lot of people in the past, some of whom I don't think would have had any problem saying, "Oh, that whole thing was scripted," after the fact (and also, Sam may be a good actor, but Colby is emphatically NOT. Watch the end of their movie to see him at work and tell me if they could keep this charade up for this long if he was faking every video lmao).

That being said, I think a lot of the equipment that all of these paranormal people use is, how do I say this politely, up for interpretation.

The whacky flashlight tricks are a great example. I have always said I find that shit to be pointless. Always. Look back at any of my old reviews of videos throughout the years and you'll see that I was ranting about the stupid flashlight shit before ranting about that was cool, damnit. It's dollar store flashlights slightly unscrewed so they misfire. I was never impressed.

But the excuse with those flashlights is that well, if you set them just right, a ghost can come up and tap them and if that's what you believe is happening, and you're in the moment and the flashlights are going off in tandem with your questions, I can see how you'd be more inclined to believe this was evidence of the paranormal.

In short: I think they get really into the moment of it all. The machines go "woowoowoo!" and they react accordingly. Whether these things can be debunked or not isn't their area of interest or expertise because they choose to believe wholeheartedly, so they simply don't go down that route at all and continue to do their thing. 🤷‍♀️

Personally speaking (and this is just my preference), I think the most interesting things they've ever caught were caught in moments when they weren't using a ton of equipment. A lot of the Estes Methods where Colby goes under are interesting because he becomes a different person for a while. The Mizpah, where he's alone in a room with a ghost prostitute having the time of his life is objectively fascinating to watch. The first Conjuring had a really strange and almost sickening vibe throughout (all the Conjurings after that got increasingly worse and worse, but that first one was *chef's kiss*). They've had some really interesting things happen. Whether someone wants to debunk it or believe it is up to them and what gives them joy, I suppose. If you are entertained by the content, consume it. If you're not, don't.

At the end of the day, I think they exaggerate their reactions sometimes. I think they don't bother with debunking things when they happen, partially out of fear and adrenaline in the moment and partially out of their over excitement. But I don't think they are actively faking anything. I think they're just...easily worked up. Big dumb happy dogs, if you will, lol.

Bulkhead would defo help make decorations for the base- paper bats on the strings, ghosts attached to the ceiling n stuff. He tried to carve a pumpkin too but he crushed it on accident :(

Prowl would defo go to a harvest festival if there was one. Bee and Sari tag along cuz there was supposedly a contest for the biggest vegetable/fruit. They were not wrong. Here you have a (different user's) post from that trip. Also Prowl would try to make a pumpkin pie for Sari from Bulk's squashed pumpkin, it turned out good by Sari's words. :D

Optimus is not really keen on the whole ordeal. The spooky theme and costumes- even the silly ones- make him uneasy (especially the spider decor). He doesn't want to ruin the fun so he just stays quiet, it's not a big deal.

Speaking of costumes- Bee would absolutely go trick-or-treating with Sari in his own costume. He loves to dress up! One time he made himself look like that black taxi from that one horror movie- while in his root mode he looked like a pitch black monster with red LEDs as eyes. Optimus was on patrol in that time and he thought it would be a great idea to give him a spook. So he made some ruckus near where OP was driving and jumpscared him with the scariest screech he could do. He regretted it shortly after because Optimus whipped out his axe and smacked him with the blunt side as an impulse reaction for being spooked+that looked like a decepticon/NOT friendly creature. Bee was send flying to the other side of the parking lot... Yeah, Optimus had to make a very awkward call to Ratchet cuz Bee was having severe ache in his tank and coughed up a little bit of enegon. Later Ratchet scolded both of them for being idiots, Bee had internal damage and couldn't leave medbay for 2 days and missed trick-or-treating. Optimus felt so bad! He apologized several times and even went and got him some home-made treats to make up for the missed treats on halloween. Bee took halloween costumes easier from then on- he dressed up as classic things like a mummy, witch or vampire. I like to think he made a costume of Blitzwing for fun at one point and just happened to bump into said 'con when he was out spooking young teens. Blitz still has a selfie of him holding the startled wannabe and him smiling widely. Also Bee really wants to know how the whole pumpkin spice thing tastes like cuz apparently it's good. Also candy- oh well, at least he got the joy of collecting it for Sari.

Ratchet, per usual, doesn't care. Although if he was feeling funny he would get fluorescent pink paint and splatter it in his workshop or himself just to mess with the others. He's the kind of guy that would play morbid jokes like that if given a chance- he is a medic after all.

Sari is having the best halloween with them. She comes up with those cool games for them to play and watches scary movies with them, She would absolutely be the type to pretend-gag when seeing christmas decor in the middle of October, Bee does that too- it's way too early, damn it! (i hate it too)

but at the same time i dont think botw is an awful starting point. bc like.... its a good game. its a good Modern game. like the older zelda games, especially the 3d titles, are extremely outdated. i dont think anyone should be playing those in this day and age when botw/totk is there to experience instead. while not ideal, i think its fine to hit it off with a modern switch title, then work your way down to older titles.

of course 2d zeldas are a different thing. dare i say, the superior thing. also i dont believe anyone should get into zelda. bad franchise. except when the games are good. all pondering aside the best starting point for zelda is ALBW, then MM3D. maybe some MINISH CAP as a treat. those are the only existing zelda titles. to me. but jokes aside if someone is really gonna have a 'starting point' for zelda games then its definitely BOTW/TOTK or ALBW. doesnt matter whether its a switch title or ALBW played first, but its very very very very important that ALBW is played as well.

Hey, it's me again, I just wanted to say thanks for responding to my comment on Ao3 and I'm so happy they'll be more mentions of Giles finding Jenny's body on his bed and that that won't just be brushed aside (I wholeheartedly agree that he would have nightmares about that, the sight of Jenny's still face and her lifeless/vacant eyes staring at him probably haunted him for years, not to mention there was also that charcoal drawing of Jenny's corpse that Angelus did either after or while setting up his cruel romantic tableau for Giles)! I actually have thought of a few extra questions (if you don't mind), will Jenny eventually also possibly find out about Willow giving Giles her rose quartz necklace and him desperately wanting the ghost/poltergeist from the episode I Only Have Eyes for You to be Jenny (the angst lover in me just really wants her to know just how much Giles missed her and how much of a wreck he was after her death, there was also that bit in the episode Beauty and the Beasts where Giles admitted he had dreams about saving Jenny from Angelus the night of her murder)? I absolutely agree that Giles never fully got over Jenny's death, I think he just merely learned to repress/suppress his grief over time, I believe he probably tried especially hard to not think about her anymore after his torture and Drusilla tricking him by pretending she was her in the S2 finale Becoming (I think that more than anything really drove home the fact that his love for her could be used against him and then like you said, he emotionally shut down entirely after Buffy died the second time three years later). Even Giles's brief relationship with Olivia in S4 didn't seem to be anything other than a casual friends with benefits type of thing, I certainly didn't get the sense that there any deep romantic connection there or anything (all I think we ever knew about her was that she was one of Giles's old friends in London, possibly during his Ripper and/or rock band days), I think that was really mostly just another byproduct of his midlife crisis during his unemployment period in S4 (even though it was mostly played for laughs, I actually think Giles was extremely depressed and lonely a lot of the time during that period and you can kind of see him gradually becomes a bit unhinged as S4 goes on, especially once Buffy starts spending less time with him). (Fun fact: Jenny was actually originally supposed to appear in Giles's dream sequence in the S4 finale Restless, I think he was going to dream that not only was she still alive but pregnant with his child but sadly, Robia LaMorte didn't want to come back.) I wonder if Giles will also eventually tell Jenny about his fling with Olivia and/or his one night stand with Joyce in the S3 episode Band Candy like in the first version (Jenny was dead during that period and he wasn't really himself when he slept with Joyce anyway so it's not like she can really be too upset with him for either of those things, plus even in a Angst With a Happy Ending and Hurt/Comfort story, it's still important to occasionally have some humorous and funny moments to balance out all the serious stuff) or possibly even Ethan Rayne coming back in the S4 episode A New Man and turning Giles into a demon? I also wonder if Jenny will eventually find out about the evil Watcher Gwendolyn Post (I've always wondered what her reaction would have been to finding out she nearly clubbed Giles to death and her being so condescending and rude to him before that) and/or Maggie Walsh (she was also so awful and insulting towards him when Giles visited her office in A New Man but so funny when Giles later got revenge by scaring her when he was temporarily a demon LOL), or possibly even the Cruciamentum test in the S3 Helpless and why Giles was temporarily fired from the Watcher's Council (if Giles ever does tell her that or she finds out somehow, I really hope she doesn't get too angry with Giles and understands the truly awful and crummy position he was in in that episode, especially since Buffy herself already forgave long ago)?

I’m 90% sure (haven’t reread the relevant chapters yet) that I wrote about Becoming and Drusilla’s torture and possibly his nightmares because the concept of Jenny finding out about that lives rent free in my head.

I’m def obsessed with these little details so I’ll do rewatches of various episodes to add in stuff like this! I promise Jenny will be finding out about all the shit that happened without her, both emotionally devastating and hilarious because what is fanfiction if not self-indulgent for all that you wanted to see in canon?
