man, i had a rly nice day today! ;v;

#my dad and i were going to bake some cookies today but. we needed to clean the kitchen first to free up counter space #just had a bunch of junk that accumulated around the island in the kitchen. depression mess - you know how it goes. so we cleaned it all up #we got that done after a few hours and we were totally exhausted afterwards.#so we went ''phew! okay! now we just need to clear stuff off the island's top!'' ... and then one of the island's legs randomly snapped #stuff went flying everywhere. glasses broke. had to pull some shards out of my foot. and the kitchen was a mess alllll over again #so we spent another hour or two cleaning THAT up and went online to order a new island. and then we just crashed and got some pizza.#i know that doesn't SOUND like a good day but. it was actually rly fun. minor injury aside hehe. i like workin on stuff with my dad! ;v;#plus. sometimes when shit goes wrong it's just kinda funny. sometimes the universe has wonderful comedic timing.#we just spent the day hanging out and chatting while we worked and stopping for snack breaks. and the kitchen looks great now! :3 #so i'm rly happy. and i'm callin today a win. ^^

cscu (CAR SALSEMAN CINEMATIC UNIVERSE) is a silly spinoff au incredibly close to me and some friends' hearts. and dicks. mainly hearts.

we saw the one off drawing made by andy tunstall (this one) and went haha ^_^ thats fun! what if he was a ditzy stupid crazy jittery car salesman tho? (MISTAKE NUMBER ONE. IT ALL GOES DOWNHILL FROM HERE)

OKAY im gonna summarize and then get REALLLLY DETAILED so bear with me.

fark and spark live in a mobile home/RV park with ej and astra. ej usually goes to school during the day and astra goes out and does Anything Else most of the time so theyre barely home between school/activities/visiting family. spark is pretty much unemployed, only taking up odd jobs here n there for a little extra cash and spends the rest of the time screaming at the tv/napping/trying to fix her busted up cars in her yard/etc. fark works in the used car dealership obvs. spark spends most nights staking out in front of their mobile home for farks (MANY) enemies that try and get into fights with him. she guards the house with a definitely illegal sawed of shotgun.

spark and fark are a freak ass southern married couple.

the full rundown is fark is working at his used car shop in the DEEP rural south (as in, no other town for at least 60 miles) in a small town. he inherited it from his fsmily after they torn down lots of local loved business for something much "cleaner" and to capitalize on the money they could make of being a good pitstop for traveling formies. clarity and freom were notorious in the town for their disregard of local businesses, making more than enough enemies when they bulldoze/compete with gas stations/hotels/motels for their cleaner more modern buildings. clarity is a pretty busted up bot down here though, unable to get repaired due to her age and her parts growing obsolete, so when she finally shuts down shes shut down for Good, leaving the fortune they made to freom.

freom doesnt use a cent of it, it pretty much just rots in an account since her death kinda fucked him up bad. he lives on the outskirts and doesnt go out pretty much ever.

fark doesnt see much of the money either, separating himself from clarity and freom as Soon as he could. other than them buying the used car lot for him and getting him up and running, he didnt really associate with them, but it disnt matter since the town already didnt like him by association to clarity and freom. and it doesnt help that he oversells the quality of his used cars, giving people pretty shitty deals and making even More enemies out of it.

but the enemies that hate him most are ej (at first) and astra. ej and astra stayed with clarity after fark moved out. fark has a lot of survivors guilt, ej saw him as the brother that left and hes pretty angry about it for a really long time, astra has the same anger but 10x worse towards fark. she suffered the brunt of clarity and freoms manipulation and abuse after fark left and she really REALLY resents him for it. she and ej were forced to move in with him after clarity died and ej warms up to fark because of his youth but astra cant.

theres a LOT of tension between her and fark, but she really likes spark, so she doesnt stay gone for too long (the most is like a week and a half). shes a college drop out because of all the stress it gave her amidst all her family troubles qnd she struggles holding a job down but she gets a bit better with time.

ej is as hotheaded and impulsive as usual, finding ways to take out his aggression in school sports and constant practice. hes just very angry and gets in trouble a lot but he is a really good kid, fark tries his best to nudge him in the right direction, spark also has a lot of patience for both his and astra's tempers, cause she was the same as a kid.

caaaant think of anything else to add its late i shouldve been asleep hoyrs ago.

this is so separated from the canon source it might as well be an oc story between me and my close friends LOL. but i am sharing it with u all as well

#i have never understood the character = actor thing #like genuinely i dont fucking get it at all #if anything i think it both discredits the actors effort and the people that actually created the medias efforts #actors very rarely have anything to do with the characters creation nor do they have anything to do with a character outside of portraying #them like tbh i feel like its a massive insult to the work that goes into acting and writing #plus i just dont really care for actors personally #but thats just a me thing #idk!!! charlie cox does not equal matt murdock he had nothing to do with creating matt murdock #or like cillian murphy as jonathan crane #i dont like jonathan crane because he looks like cillian murphy i just like jonathan crane #like yeah he did a great job with acting in the trilogy and portrayed him great #but cillian murphy doesnt have any of the traits i like in jonathan crane idgaf about that guy aside from like two roles hes done #i dont know man #i just feel like itd be shitty to put months or years into the creation of media #into method acting and portraying these characters with the help of writers and directors #just for characters to not be acknowledged as seperate from their actors #idk. like jonathan crane is played by cillian murphy they have the same face whatever #but that is in no way shape or form the same guy at ALLLLL #idk. also fucks with fandom portrayals of characters #i.e booktok white women projecting poorly written smut onto every middle aged man ever #like you dont look at animated media and equate that character to their VA why would you do it for live action shit #you dont look at writers work and equate their characters to themselves #uuugggggghhhhh #plus i think the film idustry in general tends to give actors too much credit for the creation of media #not to say actors do nothing because they definetly do im interested in acting myself #but brother they r not the ones that direct and write and edit and sound mix and all this other shit #skyler posting #soigh #anyways

one of the lesser talked about fun things about intentionally reading more books is finding new stuff to be a bit of a hater about tbh

#and i know sometimes im probably just not properly picking up whatever the writer is putting down but whatever it's still fun #to actually know what you think about stuff like the highly regarded classics and extremely popular hyped up things #here are a few writers im a bit of a hater about w my opinions now btw #neil gaiman: does not do it for me at alllll #have read the graveyard book and american gods and hated almost every minute of both #in american gods i just found the aesthetic ideas and characters completely unappealing and in the graveyard book #i thought it was dreary and not well described enough... kept feeling like it was too bare bones in some way to picture things properly #i was like 'hmm i wish this was one of his graphic novels instead bc i'd like to be able to see what's going on here a bit better...'#also his humour just never lands for me and i do not often get his references either #ray bradbury annoys me in a similar way to neil gaiman but also somewhat oppositely like where #the way they write characters and plots and ideas and the stuff they care about gets on my nerves in an almost identical way #that i don't know how to define except to say i had a bit of a 'same energy' experience reading Something Wicked This Way Comes #and some of neil gaiman's stuff #but unlike neil gaiman i think that ray bradbury attempts to describe things unusually so much and TOO much #to the point that it takes me out of the story in a different yet similar way #to how the lack of description in neil gaiman's stuff does #what else have i become a bit of a hater about or did not get the appeal of lately? hmmm #oh hp lovecraft hahahaha #least scary stories ever god everything he's scared of is so dumb #like even aside from his extremely racist takes and fear of the 'exotic other' his fears about being cosmically insignificant are just like #yeah and? whats so scary about that hahaha i literally just dont get it #also the amount he writes dialogue in heavy accents annoys the shit out of me #p

I think it's been a year since I've actually boiled potatoes.

#you grow up on boiled potatoes with meat and veg as a regular meal #you stop eating it as much if not entirely because you want to explore other avenues #also #peeling potatoes still gives you mild childhood trauma #I'm pairing it with kale and a smoked sausage #and a bit of mustard #and some jus #yes lads - I am making Boerenkool Stamppot #been too long since I've had stamppot and I should be ashamed of myself #(maybe aside from hutspot #I was in Iceland on October 3rd and forced my dad to make extra so I could eat that when I got home #(October 3rd is when the dutch city of Leiden was freed from the Spanish occupation #it is said that soldiers found pots of boiling potatoes and carrots and onions #and herring and white bread which was given to the starving citizens by the people who broke the occupation #I don't eat raw fish but hell wake me up for hutspot any day of the week at every hour)#my dad saved about 3 regular person portions but I hate flying so had barely eaten since waking up in Iceland #so I ate alllll of it #anyway #having dinner at half past 11 at night is healthy right #right

I think that people frequently tend to forget that Mackenzie is a little shit in the WM campaign, both through the few player choices and just in normal dialogue and cutscenes

I do find it funny that t1d and adrenal insufficiency is really like "you're body doesn't properly produce a hormone you need to live, my body doesn't properly produce a hormone I need to live" we should be besties really
