After a lot of procrastination, I am back playing Miitopia. The reason it's taken so long is because I had to create a bunch more miis.
The first character to make was the Roving Photographer. Emmy was the obvious choice, but I'd prefer to have her in my team, so Joseph from the photo shop it is.
Next is the Quizmaster. As soon as I read that he is an oddball who shows up randomly to greet the player, I knew Aldus would be perfect.
Next, the Prodigious Postman. I know it says "man" but Lettie Mailer fits the description so I added her.
The Roaming Gourmet is our one and only Prosciutto. I was going to pick Jacques based on the wig he would wear, but he was hard to make and Prosciutto likes food so it works better.
Next is the Nintendo Fan. I chose Puzzlette. She's cute.
But something important is about to happen! Creating NPC's is fun, but Layton needs a teammate!
Introducing Flora the Chef!
She'll destroy enemies with her terrible food combinations!
I was so tempted to say "no" because Layton has a bad record when it comes to taking Flora with him.
But in this case, he needs an ally.
Now the real adventure begins!!
As usual, my Access Key is 4N95JJC.
Feel free to use any miis I make in your own games!

As I mentioned in a previous post I was going to translate the Spectrobes manga pages I found. It’ll take time cause: I got work, I’m using google translate so the translations are not spot on, but it’s enough to get me close to something so I may so my own interpretations (Maybe a heck of a lot cause holy heck when I started translating it was…yikes for some things). ANYWAY. I’ll post them here when they are done. Either page by page or reblog this post with the each new page, don’t know I’ll keep y’all posted.
Anyway, here is pages 1-3 of chp 1. Each chapter has 10 pages and there’s 3 chapters

From @cult-of-embers
Some time had passed since Aldus had first made his arrangement with the Manflayer, and by all metrics that concerned the sorcerer, things were going astonishingly well.
Every cycle, the sorcerer brought the Chief Apothecary a small sampling of Thousand Sons legionnaires to be studied and experimented on. Between excursions, Aldus learned the medical sciences, and eventually discovered he had an aptitude for bio-engineering.
Today, he was modeling a prosthetic arm for Fabius’ inspection. At first glance, the limb appeared completely uninteresting, but beneath the outer layer of dermis was a metallic endoskeleton. The material could be extruded from ports located in the palm and fingertips to create various tools or weaponry.
“Far be it for me to rush perfection, Lord Fabius” Aldus said after a few moments. “But is my new body finished?”
Fabius does not answer at first, apparently busy testing the electrical skin resistance of the prosthetic arm and comparing it with various values of cell cultures growing in several shielded dishes.
Finally, he straightens up, making a little show of his spine making cracking noises. In the time that Aldus has now worked with him on and off, the Chief Apothecary has definitely run his current body down a bit. A few surgical scars have been added where he has operated out the first ulcers that the Blight has caused to grow in his body. The whites of his eyes have become more yellowish and his hair thinner. Sometimes, when he feels unobserved, he allows his usually straight-as-a-board arrogant posture to become a little more stooped.
"Done. That, when it comes to the work, is not a good term. It's always a tree branching into possibilities. And since you have decided to start with a new body instead of using your own over and over again, it is a process. You may well have to change several times before the right body is found. And then there will still be a need to change details. Perfection means not standing still and lazily letting yourself fall into a state of mind."
He slows himself down before launching into lecturing once again. Occasionally he has moments like this, when the mere imparting of expertise with lots of personal opinion and experience turns into a tantrum that is not always completely understandable.
"But there are actually some first possibilities. I have two ready-made possible bodies to your specifications and with the right specifications. And of course with the modifications that keep you close to the Astartes ideal. The most interesting thing is probably the brains. Is it possible for you to test a body through psychic projection, or do we actually have to go the direct route? I would find it interesting to observe how you partially transfer your consciousness. And of course it gives more valuable data"

Somehow at work, the IT people before me never got rid of a bunch of old software, and I also can't bring myself to, since they only take up half a shelf in a former server room that only I go into, and it's like a personal nostalgic little museum. So once every few years I have fun looking through it.
Aldus went defunct in 1994 and was acquired by Adobe. Photoshop version 4 came out in 1996, and cost that much even then. That version of NT Server came out in 1995, I guess when everyone was getting tribal tattoos.
My biggest regret is that I didn't manage to save two digital files we had on our old file server from 1989. They were logos for Washington State's centennial, of glorious low quality and late 80s design. It isn't that you can't find these logos elsewhere, I think it's even on a time capsule at the capitol, but just the novelty of being able to see that on the created date of the file was fun.
Anyway, I'm sure like two other people will find this as mildly interesting as I do. I was in elementary school when this stuff came out, so at home I was only installing games, and didn't ever really see business software. (Sorry if I'm making anyone feel old, it happens to me routinely.)

I went through Katrielle's collection again and I think that this describes Aldus. The slicked back hair and pink shirt definitely describes Aldus to a T.

It's Fine Press Friday!
One of the early productions of the Limited Editions Club was Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832), with reproduced watercolor illustrations by American artist and illustrator René Clarke (1886-1959) and a translation for this edition by Alice Raphael (1887-1975), printed in an edition of 1500 copies signed by the artist and issued on March 22, 1932 to mark the centenary of the author's death. The book was also designed by Clarke and printed in New York by the Bartlett-Aldus Press in W. A. Dwiggins' Metro type on a special rag paper imported from Italy, and bound in dark-red cloth stamped in gold with a pattern by Clarke.

@cult-of-embers - here's the response. Hope you can see it!
---------
Not a heartbeat after Aldus has expressed the wish for a sedative, an arm of the Chirurgeon shoots from diagonally above - everything is so high above him now! - and injects him in a split second with a mild procedural sedative tailored to his biology. If there's one thing you can count on in a Third Legion Apothecary, it's that he can play the dosages of stimulants and sedatives like an expensive antique violin. Either the Chief Apothecary has been preparing something like this for some time, or it has actually become so second nature to him that it has turned into a reflex.
The piercing stare has not left Aldus all this time. "Stress response still within acceptable range. I had calculated a 2.6 percent chance of spontaneous flesh change. Because - you are not completely rid of this threat. For that you would have to say goodbye to your abilities and choose a neutral body without mutations. Which would probably not be in your best interest, am I right?
So presumably then rather the eternal possibility of changing after all."
He sighs in annoyance - obviously hating that he is still so powerless against the great curses the gods have hung on the legions. He mutters, "If they didn't enjoy playing with those they love so much …"
Then he shakes his head gruffly, concentrating again on reading out the readings.
Saqqara, meanwhile, has rearranged his bottles; Aldus can sense that the Word Bearer did not expect a mere human psyker to be able to dismantle his Shard of Khorne so quickly. The Diabloist definitely exudes alertness and more aggression. But again and again his attention turns to Fabius - again, a dog of his master, albeit much more deadly than a Flesh Hound.
Fabius puts the datapad aside.
"All right, then. Now we are in unfamiliar territory. You are physically stable and also your … mental roommate seems to have retreated. What tests do you have planned for yourself?"
The Sorcerer and the Clonelord
(It's getting too much text, so I'm continuing from here:
@cult-of-embers )
Fabius has been looking back and forth between Aldus and his datapads and Cogitor screens throughout the demonstration. He frowns as one of the globes fades into darkness, but it is no more than a brief distraction. Every now and then he also looks at Saqqara, who has closed his eyes and is muttering soft prayers and mantras to himself, which manifest in the warp as thin wisps of smoke and drift around the diabolist like snakes before fraying and disappearing again.
The beings in his bottles move sluggishly, but their hunger is clearly felt. They are aware that they are in the presence of a particularly tasty prey animal - or of something they at least think is.
Fabius doesn't see this, of course - but it still seems as if he can actually locate where Aldus is. Values and scales dance across screens and flare out. Green light paints curves that presumably tell the Chief Apothecary things, for his gaze becomes more strained. The thin lips pucker briefly. Actually just a trivial gesture.
But for Saqqara obviously a sign. Because in the same second that Fabius very casually says "Oh, I wouldn't worry about aggression, that comes naturally", Saqqara's chanting changes abruptly.
The syllables become as sharp as knives and smell of blood. The smoke around him takes on contour and with a blurred gesture the Word Bearer loosens a cork from one of the smaller bottles.
The contents of the bottle manifest with a high-pitched howl climbing down the musical scale into a deep, resonating growl and a wolf-like monster with a wreath of underarm-length spikes around its neck appears out of greasy swirls of smoke. It opens its mouth and the inside is the pulsating redness of magma.
Saqqara's mantras become urgent, angry and the manifested terror rushes towards Aldus.
Fabius tilts his head slightly, pen on datapad and obviously very interested. He says nonchalantly. "Now would be the time for something bombastic."
