Сегодня отлично отметила рождество.

Распаковывала подарочки и пила шоты с абсентом 😳 Сейчас буду есть дыню и смотреть сериал лёжа под теплым одеялком.

Подарки чуть позже покажу, пока что у меня настроение тюлениться в постельке.

Unmistakably Alco

The image was made on a humid day about five miles south-east of Charleston, Illinois. We're standing along one of the several routes owned by the Indiana Hi-Rail Corporation—this particular line was once the Nickel Plate Road.

Number 332, working for the Indiana Hi-Rail Corporation, is an Alco C420. Discerning the lineage of this locomotive was interesting: to begin with, the gray color made me think of the Louisville & Nashville.

Indeed the engine ran for the L&N as number 1332. [It seems that IHRC simply removed the “1” to create a new number: 332.] But the story goes on: the bell on the nose is a tip-off that this locomotive once labored for the Monon (subsumed into the L&N in 1971). The Alco C420 was purchased new for the Hoosier Line in August of 1967 and worked with the number of 515.

Ну вот и настал момент, чтобы сделать пост про подарки на днюху.

Во-первых этот милейший букет (мне так нравится, что тут есть подсолнухи 🌻).

Конечно же не обошлось без красивой 3Д открытки с милейшим единорожкой 🦄 и шоколадного Бейлиса 🔥🫶🏻

Кстати бухло уже закончилось (никто же во мне не сомневался?)

Также мне перепали две шикарные фигурки по Гарри Поттеру и Кошмару перед рождеством 😍 Я уже поставила их на полки и любуюсь этой чудесной красотой. (Кстати, на фоне подарочный пакетик).

Ну и самый кайф это блайнд бокс по Атаке титанов, в котором мне попался Леви!!! 🥺 Я именно его хотела и тут такая удача.

Ещё рядом милые наклейки, которые я уже приклеила в дневник.

Маски для лица со злодейками и принцессами Диснея отвал башки ❤️ не терпится их попробовать. Бальзам для губ уже начала юзать, красный пахнет клубничным смузи.

Это не все подарки, но для фанко поп фигурок я сделаю отдельный пост.

The Belt Railway Company of Chicago

These images were made at Clearing Yard, Bedford Park, Illinois. I seem to recall that the BRC had an affinity for Alco locomotives. The lead unit in the first two images is an C424 built in May of 1966.

While this is a good year and a half after the Bicentennial, we see a transfer caboose as well as a switch engine in red, white, and blue paint. That locomotive in the last image is an EMD MP15DC built in June of 1975.

CN Southwell "Port of San Francisco". Tannenbaum & Hawks knock around C&D Hoppers on Pier 80 in the late afternoon. ALCO S2 #23 has spent all of her 70+ years knocking around the docks here.
