Posted @withregram • @joshuascarver Today we have a cigar that I was holding onto for awhile and decided a 0 degree day would finally be a good time to smoke it. This cigar is called The Viva La Vida from @artesanodeltobacco - from my understanding this cigar was blended by the legend, AJ Fernandez (@ajf_nicaragua) of @ajfcigars - One thing before even smoking the cigar that I enjoyed was the artwork on the band. It looks to be a jester of some sort and just makes this a memorable cigar for me. Before I get into my thoughts, here are some specifics on the cigar Wrapper: Habano Oscuro 2000 (Nicaragua) Binder: Corojo ’99 (Nicaragua) Filler: Criollo ’98 (Nicaragua) Factory: Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua (Nicaragua) Vitola: 5″ × 54 (Robusto) I paired this cigar with some Red Cabin from @thecentralstandard 🥃 As I inspected the cigar, I found the construction to be nice and solid. On The cold draw I got some pepper and some cedar wood along with some sweetness. On the light up I got a nice blast of peppery spice along with hints of a creamy coffee/coffee drink flavor. As I smoked into the second third I got some baking type of spices along with the continued pepper spice that I really enjoyed. Also, this cigar has had an excellent even burn so far. I’m a fan of a well constructed non flaky ash having cigar, this one had a firm solid ash. As I got into the final third I started to get flavors of black coffee, more pepper and something quite savory on the end. Whatever it is, it was good. As you can see I smoked this cigar pretty far down and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole cigar. The reasons I enjoyed this cigar was the full flavored and medium strength combination. Also, if you scroll through my post, this cigar outputs some great smoke, which added to my positive reaction of the cigar.
