Anyone else seen that decision by ACen? You know, the one where they decided less than a week before the convention to go from masks mandatory to masks not mandatory, to masks mandatory some places but not hallways or bathrooms? I feel like that should be getting a bit more traction over here.

So, while I do plan to come back to this page I've been busy, and a lot of it has been convemtion related. I went to Anime St. Louis last month and Anime Central last week, of course with the same reactions. I had a bunch of people ask if I'm either Jack Frost or Dream Drop? Dream Drop is apparently from FNAF, but again - I'm not in that age demographic to have even played it. Having a teenager come up to me to ask that personally was wild, as I'm not far from being 30.

For the people who did recognize me, though... I cosplay Sakura Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura annually. This has been going on since 2018 - this is technialy my third cosplay of the character from 2019 I like to bring back. I planned to do her green arrow costume from the first movie, but the commissioner made it in a weird color and I didn't have time to replace the missing accessories. Anyway, the water jester outfit first appears in episode 3 and went on to have a revamped version in Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card.

Clear Card's version is a lighter color (more sky blue than the deeper indigo/navy shade from CCS), does not have the leotard, adds knee high boots, a frilly skirt, and the hat is a lot smaller. I plan to do this version as well in the future, but I'm still stuck on what to do for October as I also cosplay on Halloween. I may just do a different character all together until next year, personally.

The manga features the water jester outfit in a lighter shade, and in some of the anime's artwork there's even a green version! I've seen this in some other art, so I'm guessing it was either done as some kind of prototype art? There were a lot of subtle color changes regarding CCS being adapted from manga to anime, such as Sakura's hair color not being too far from a more golden shade of brown to a "chocolate" shade in the 1998 TV anime until having it colored similar to the original manga in Clear Card's anime.
