character idea: someone who was given magic by birthright, particularly the ability to heal, but insists on learning and practicing traditional medicine and surgery bc god kids these days using their gods to drum up every answer to every problem. back in their day they went to the library and found a book on curing bludgeoning damage with cool compresses and elevation and rest, dammit. what if you call your god to heal and god is busy? what if god hallucinates an answer that kills your poor patient, what then? magic healing my ass, it's just parlor tricks. let's see god repair a punctured aorta with their bare hands

crucially, they use magic for every other thing they can. they just don't let it touch their patients out of some level of superstition

The way Sean is looking at White when he mentions the view. The way White goes to pull him off the edge of the building without any hesitation. The way Sean looks at White after he turns away from him to look over the shipyard; the way Sean can’t stop looking at White throughout the whole scene. He can’t take his eyes off him. The way the sun is behind White’s forehead when Sean kisses him there. The way the sun is behind White’s lips when Sean kisses him again. The way neither of them leave and instead so readily embrace each other; just the two of them together, holding each other against the sunset.
