Illyana Rasputin dying in A.X.E.: Judgment Day #5 and Immortal X-Men #7

Since this was revealed to be a Celestial illusion, can anyone remind me if Illyana has ever had a confirmed Krakoan resurrection by the Five? I can’t recall any.

(And my headcanon is that having been reborn once already in the non-linear time of Limbo, she may very well be so connected to it that Limbo will always bring her back on its own. Illyana might have put in a DNR notice (Do Not Resurrect) to prevent there ending up being two of her. Which could have made for a good story with her friends hearing from the Five that they refuse to bring her back and not understanding why, and Illyana then turning up as they’re grieving her.)

Chuck gets a hero moment on Judgement Day

Let's be honest, Charles Xavier was not behaving heroically during the first Krakoan age. Creepy, manipulative, condescending, cold-blooded, committed to realpolitik and the big picture. Nobody is perfect, and nothing prepares a teacher/headmaster for being patriarch of a young nation under constant fire. That was the point, of course, but I admire Gillen giving him a moment to shine.

So when Druig, temporary Prime Eternal, decided genocide was dandy Charles held the fort alone in a psychic siege against immortal angels. He's not battling one Eternal there - he's battling ALL of them. They've been doing this for a million years and they failed to get past Chuck's big brain and will to protect his people.

Sure, he died a few times doing it, his brain melted into cosmic sludge - but they had eggs good to go so he could get back into it. 24 hours straight, while participating in council meetings/running a country under attack at the same time.

It's nice to see him flex his superhero chops. 🫅🧠👏

Are you surprised I was there during the forum wars of CBR during AvsX.

One conclusion I made from that event was that "Avengers and X-Men were never meant to co-exist." Especially the fandoms, (spit).

Truthfully X-Men would do much better separated from the Marvel universe. Play In their own little corner.

Feel like #xspoilers fans on Twitter need to have a reminder that the X-men are not real people and the Eternals are not actually trying to kill them.

I feel bad for Eternals and Inhuman fans, imagine being into these C to B-list chars that finally get a push, then having them pitted against the monolith that is the X-fandom.

I know it's not all of them, but some X-fans literally will not forgive anyone crossing their meow-meows, and whilst the 'fuck the avengers' thing is funny, it's less funny when you realise people earnestly hate them so much they dismiss them out of hand and rip into their fans for it.

It's not that bad on tumblr, but some people just take comics way too effing personally.

My favorite “Magik” moments of 2022!

New Mutants #26-28 (2022) MARVEL - Illyana meets three different versions of herself during The Labors of Magik. An elderly warrior trapped in Limbo for years, a seven-year-old captive of Belasco, and the evil Queen Illyana Rasputina, who chose to remain in Limbo and rule instead of returning to Earth.

Midnight Suns #1 (2022) MARVEL - Blade gives an unsuspecting class at Strange Academy a surprise lecture on “Defense Against Vampires”.

X-Men #16 (2022) MARVEL - Magik teleports Firestar to the Avengers Mansion during battle.

Midnight Suns #3 (2022) MARVEL - The team receives magically enchanted armor forged by Tony Stark / Doctor Strange to save Zoe Laveau and thwart an apocalypse.

New Mutants #30 (2022) MARVEL - Illyana escorts Deadpool off of Krakoa.

I can’t help but feel that during mutant extinction event number infinity, everyone is a bit blasé about the odds. Scott and Illyana probably already had a plan for this specific eventuality anyway.

A.X.E. : Judgement Day Companion Panels

Favorite volume in the companion was Starfox's, just from the differences b/t its art style and the other volumes. Like it was oddly softer than the others. Might've been that there were more pastel type colors in it if I had to put my finger on it.

Least favorite was the 2 Fantastic Four volumes just cause that's the group I know the least about so I can't really just drop into a volume or two like I can the others. Then again a lot of my knowledge right now is what they got going on in terms of blockbuster movies.

Wouldn't say that their volumes were out of place though as they were still relevant to the overarching events and plot.

Groups go Avengers -> Xmen -> Eternals -> Fantastic Four in terms of how much I know about them

I find Syne the Memotaur and Sally's relationship to be hilarious in a wholesome manner. It's oddly humanizing that a creature like Syne is invested in something like poetry. Not in a mocking way but rather an admirable way.

In a similar vein, the Machine that is Earth and Phastos - him feeling remorse at rebooting it
