Thermus aquaticus
Thermus aquaticus is a thermophilic bacterium found in geysers around the world. It is the source of an enzyme called Taq polymerase, which is commonly used in polymerase chain reaction (PCR). PCR is a process by which a small sample of DNA can be exponentially amplified, generating millions to billions of copies.

Note
My theory is that you have several terrariums of isopods that you keep
I fucking wish :3
Sadly I have to go to the forest and turn over rocks and logs to get my isopods, like some cavewoman :3

i know that this is not the point of that post (that post = "i saw someone calling isopods cringe yesterday" u know the one) but seriously why DO isopods get all the love when amphipods are a million times better and more interesting and all over me right now and i individually counted & IDed 286 of them today and they're just better, imo,

Trying to catch images of various smols and skittles that aren't out as often. Caridina skittles are some of the most gorgeous bugs you can pick out for your aquarium.

Pokedex: T. aquaticus only lives in hot springs of up to 80°C. It's highly valued for its enzyme's ability to replicate DNA at extremely high temperatures without being destroyed.
