I've been wondering, do Harpies that were raised by humans simply not turn into kings? If it happens, what would trigger it? What would they do? How would they feel?

The trigger is usually the lack of a king already in a flock combined with persistent fear spikes as a result of crawling beast attacks. Kind of a "oh fuck we need more protection" stress signal from the body. But sometimes it can seem random, sometimes it can happen from someone just wishing really hard they could fuck a tiercel (that's how cuinn did it).

Among humans the harpies frequently encounter crawling beasts but they are not as stressed about it - because it's a job to them to fly out every night and kill those fuckers. Then the flock flies home to the mews where they get guaranteed food and their nests and babies are never in any real danger. This puts a pretty severe damper on most king transformations because after all, growing a bigger body which consumes way more energy and can't hunt as effectively is kind of silly if there's truly no need for it.

If it DID happen, the trigger would likely be one of the other random reasons. Most commonly (it's rare still) it would be a harpy who starts to view their own human keepers as somewhat like tiercels - which is why it's discouraged for falconers to wear bright flashy styles of clothing btw. The falconer-harpy working relationship relies on the harpy taking a subordinate role and accepting human authority. If they start to test boundaries it's a warning sign of a potential inversion of those subordinate/authoritative roles on the horizon. How the harpy feels depends on the individual but the king transformation can be confusing to them if they don't even know wtf is happening which can lead to becoming aggressive (especially food aggressive), withdrawn, moody, etc basically it's rarely a fun time for them.

At the early stages the transformation can be stopped by reducing the harpy's rations and feeding washed meat (meat that has soaked in water for a period of time to remove nutritional value). nobody can suddenly almost double in size over the course of a few months without proper nutrition. If caught early enough it'll stop the transformation entirely but if it's too late, you're just going to fuck them up. Those ones are isolated from the flock and later passed off to travelling/beginner falconers for cheap, which is a disaster waiting to happen

i feel as if im going mad so im going to just put this out here. real quick. movieunleashers starters ramble.

i cant stop thinking about how mudkip broke down in that one scene in "Typomaniac," when Chespin called him mean. for a second he lets his mask slip a little bit and to me he just... acts his age. he starts crying and calls chespin mean back. maybe im just hyperfocusing on this one detail but mudkip is about 12 years old.

and that just makes me wonder what happened in this guys life that brought him to where he is now. and it makes it all the more tragic how his whole world revolves around chespin, but he is the one bringing him the most pain. and how young he was when he died.

there is a large theme of growing up in "Rare Candy." the characters ages are emphasized in that particular episode, and one of the main conflicts is fennekin wanting to evolve faster.

the thing about characters in these stories is that they're not allowed to just be kids, to have a childhood. so many bad things happen to them. like. mudkips whole, Everything. fennekin when she was famous in typomaniac, or dealing with her own insecurities/pressure from society about her relationship w chespin. and chespin always having to shoulder his friends problems & always somehow managing to stay positive despite everything.

why cant they just. play video games. eat ice cream or something. go to the movies

at the end of the day, i think both mudkip and fennekin are characters who grew up too fast. by distancing himself from them, chespin refused to follow in their footsteps and just wanted to stay a kid.

weird thing happened today.i was going to the store for my computer and i randomly saw this girl that i had a "friend-breakup(🙄)" w last april.at first i assumed that she was simply visiting bc she said she had some relatives in my city but then she said that shes apparently moved here bc she changed universities, and she actually lives like around 10 minutes from my house.she said that she didn't call me bc she felt like it would be awkward considering what she had told me last time, but that she had hoped she would run into me instead so it could be more natural.we talked amiably for a while and then she said i should message her and we can have a coffee and catch up.i dont know what to make of all this tbh

I just got off a job interview

I sure hope they liked me. I've gotten a bunch of rejections already without even getting an interview despite meeting more than minimum qualifications. The Clerk’s first interaction with Reynard makes quite the impression on him. Not a good one mind you, and every interaction they have after this just gets worse and worse.

She 100% believes he is Jonathan Walker (his grandfather and the cause of all the horrors happening in the town), and pursues him relentlessly through the complex. She’s waited over 40 years for her revenge on John. She’s not going to let the chance slip through her fingers, even though she’s got the wrong man.

In response to seeing that someone in my apartment building has a wifi/hotspot called "do you listen to girl in red?" I made my hotspot a reference to Bridget from Guilty Gear. When I named it, I was thinking whether I should keep my old password for it or not, and for a moment I thought "what if I made the password "out of the box" lol" before I paused and thought that actually, that's probably the first thing anyone who knows GG would think of trying as a password, and that there must be at least one Axl main out there who got hacked for using that as their password

eddie moves to texas, leaving buck in la, but crucially does not tell chris, just says he’ll see him soon. chris and eddie spend time together, are doing okay, chris wants to know how long a time off bobby gave his dad to visit texas, eddie informs chris that he actually lives here now and thinks chris will like his new room. chris is horrified because he never wanted to stay in texas. a call back to eddie quitting the 118, ‘i thought that’s what you wanted/i never said that” and chris is like well what now i don’t want to live in texas i want to go home, where’s buck? and eddie is once again tortured by the idea that he’s doing everything wrong because he uprooted his life, chris’s life, bucks life, and none of them wanted it. chris tells eddie to call buck immediately and eddie does and then we cut to bucks loft, where he’s sitting on eddies old couch with red eyes, raises the ringing phone, glances at the name, and then silences it and puts it back down, raises a beer and drinks in silence, shot exactly like the post-breakup scene but without eddie.

Here is Aster’s Halloween Costume! I didn’t color it, but Aster is Little Red Riding Hood and Del is the Werewolf. He’s not trick-or-treating, by the way—he’s just handing out king-sized chocolate bars to everyone he passes while walking around!
