Fem!TWST 7 Minutes in Heaven - Leona
Mentions/warnings: SPICY. They're all aged up (I always age them up in my works.) Not suitable for minors. Sorrynotsorry. lol
Leona Kingscholar - Gold chain necklace (I could imagine her owning one, tbh. She's a princess, after all and definitely owns plenty of gold jewellery.)
Tumblr media
I'm gonna put this out there right now, this is gonna be pretty spicy. If you're too soft, you'll want to tap out now, cause this is for the hardcore simps, the horny brigade.
At first, she didn't want to even come to the party, but seeing you there made her change her mind.
She's smug as hell about the fact you picked out her item.
She will pick you up over her shoulder and carry you into the closet and if you struggle, she might give you a cheeky spank on the booty.
Once the door is shut, she sets you down and pins you to a wall, smirking and eyeing you as if you're an entire buffet.
"You want this as much as I do… Let's not waste time, herbivore. Besides, a lioness always gets what she wants…"
She kisses you as if she was starving. It's hot and heavy and she'll definitely have her hands on your body.
Despite the initial roughness, she doesn't fail to make you feel amazing, as if you're a goddess and she's worshipping you with her touches and her feverish kisses.
Her hands touch all the right places, moving under your top and teasingly rubbing circles over your torso, pinching the skin.
She slips her tongue past your lips, after she playfully nips your lower lip. She's slightly growling while she does this and the vibration of it is only making you want more of her.
She wraps your legs around her waist, wanting to be up against you as much as possible. The closet feels warmer than before and all that can be heard is the sound of panting and lips smacking against each other.
She breaks the kiss for a second, both of you are flushed in the face and eyes glazed over.
"Your lips taste so fuckin' good! I'm happy you picked out my item and not that horned lizard bitch's…"
She moves her lips back to yours again, hungrily. She moves her hands lower this time, grabbing your arse and giving it a good squeeze.
Sadly, your time is up. The door knocks and is being opened.
Leona growls once again after breaking the kiss, an annoyed expression on her face.
"Let's leave this stupid party, so we can continue back at my dorm, yeah?"
You can't help but nod in agreement, because, GODDAAAAAMN!
She picks you back up and takes you back to hers. You know what happens next. ;)

Honestly I’ve gotten to the point where I hate when people forget that their headcanons aren’t canon, because then people will point at a character that canonically has a loving and long lasting relationship with someone of the opposite sex in canon (and as a trans person I hate wording but idk how else to put it atm) and say that they’re exclusively gay or exclusively lesbian, much like the Annabeth discourse recently on here. And I know that people struggle with comphet, but this has happened so frequently in my fandoms that it’s just feeling pretty biphobic, and it’s compounded worse when it’s women of color in general, and most often black women, as the mod that discussed the misogynoir aspect of this said too.
Mooooooooood and like, what gets me is that there is a difference being like "I like to think of XYZ character as 123 identity" versus "XYZ *is* 123 and everyone who disagrees is not only wrong but actively hates 123 people" like bro whut 💀💀💀
I don't know if it's because I'm old (by fandom standards) or I just managed to avoid that particular strain of fandom brainrot lmao but I've never vibed with that type of entitlement to like, idk declaring yourself as the consensus opinion? Anyways.

I don't think I'll ever get over the pure joy of being sapphic. Being a woman who loves other women is such a treat! Seeing lesbian couples out and about fills me with happiness and being part of one is amazing! I don't really know how to put it into words, but it's such a warm and soft feeling of mutual understanding and respect. Someone who can simultaneously empathize with all the hardships of womanhood but also celebrate the fun aspects with you. I'm so grateful that I was given the capacity to experience love in this way.

I'm in the mood to sketch rn :) so here is a recap of my star wars sapphic au <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the lineup !
Tumblr media
[COMMISSIONS]
But now, I would love some opinions on who should I add next soooo
Little pitch for each potential new character below vvv
Lando : I think making her a high femme mayor/pilot can be hot af lfkgkfk
I love Lando's character and design, and even tho I don't plan on keeping the mustache (a tragedy I know), I do have some ideas for a feminine version.
She's living the high life until her kinda failure of an ex comes crawling back to her with demands and a new gf :) too bad she already made a deal with Vader
Piett : middle aged stressed navy woman in uniform (even tho it's the kinda ugly imperial uniform fifkfkfk).
Piett is one of my absolute favorite sw characters ! So thank you fanon, you made something really cool for this one <3
And I adore his friendship with Veers, so they might be a muscle woman also in uniform if you pick his option ;)
Boba Fett : post sarlacc digestion butch booba fett. She's old, she's bald, and she will break your jaw <3
Also dykes on (hover) bikes :)))
PS : as always, the Palpatine and Dooku designs were originally made by Stagbeetleboy, so these are his designs
PPS : I drew Padmé in my favorite outfit of hers, and even tho she wore it in star wars 1 she isn't 14 here itjkff hope I didn't have to specify that but better safe then sorry- she's in her late twenties early thirties

This is Sword AF closure anon also just to say I ship Amanda with literally any woman. Amangela? Yes. Courtmanda? Absolutely! HOWEVER, Amanda and Tommy? That's ironically but also unironicallt my favorite Smosh ship.
Amanda is very much an every young sapphic's gay awakening type of it girl- she's a tall, beautiful woman with a self-assured way about her. I don't know how I could ever ship her with any man other than her actual husband (who genuinely seems to be perfect for her), and A Depressed Gay Man (who also has lesbian energy). Also if people don't read sapphic awakening for Amanda, she DEFINITELY has Gay Boy's First Ally energy. She's def been on the receiving end of "you're the first person I came out to" from many a gay boy. That's just the type of girl she is, y'know?
hehehe saw this come into my inbox as i was typing out my response to your other ask!
amanda is soooooooo sapphic???!!!! and she knows it?????!!!! and i love it! i always think about the moment in the pod with arasha where amanda (referring to herself) says "you're a lesbian, correct?" like GIRL!!!!
tomanda works so well honestly because they both actively play into it. i think that's why amangela and courtmanda work so well as well. they all play into these ships and it gives fans (read: me) some reassurance that they don't feel uncomfortable with the shipping 🤗

It’s my birthday! Celebrate with me by reading my top favorite fanfic discoveries this past year. (Feel free to flail with me in DM’s!) I feel so lucky to have found so many wonderful talented friends and amazing stories!
1. flour and flesh by foxglovetonic (nocturn) Hermione x Pansy, wc: 666 rating: M
(Mind the tags) This sapphic horror fic gripped my soul from the moment I read it and it lives rent-free in my head because of its amazing imagery and masterful use of unreliable narrator. I’ll be forever creeped out by carving pumpkins and pie (but in the BEST way, I swear!) This is the #1 reason Halloween is my fav.
2. Usually by @lumosatnight Percy x Oliver, wc: 1k, rating: E
What’s not to love about banter, chess as foreplay, and stripping down until there’s nothing left but heart-pounding hot AF sex? This pairing is fantastic, and Lani’s writing is on point, as always, and I was incredibly impressed by the real live chess match taking place in the background. Read it, you won’t regret it!
3. drink up, boys by @emilyrickman gen work featuring Parvati Patil, wc: 1.5k, rating: M
(Mind the tags) I URGE you give this gripping revenge story a chance! Between Parvati’s confidence and the absolute heartbreaking and empowering ode to sisterly love, this story gave me goosebumps. Emily is such a great writer, and I can’t stress enough how well the feels come through on this one. Also, give the song What It Means To Be a Girl by EMELINE a listen as you read, it will elevate the whole experience!
4. One Woman’s Trash by @nanneramma Lavender x Hermione wc: 2k, rating: T
My friend Nan can do it all, and I don’t care that coffee shop AU has been done a thousand and one times before, THIS is the one to read! Lavender is to die for in this, and the fluff is pure, gourmet sweetness. It will have you kicking your feet and squealing by the end.
5. Head Over Heels by @vdoshu Narcissa x Mrs. Zabini, wc: 575, Rating: M
This itty bitty fic is singlehandedly feeding my Narcissa Mommy delusion. I want her to step on me SO BAD! Ugh. Doshu packs a punch with every story, and the punchline of this one is sure to have you gasping like a beached fish. Please come scream at me about it if and when you know what I mean.
6. Welcome, Peasants by @fluxweeed Draco x Ron x Harry, wc: 15k, Rating: E
It was nearly impossible for me to pick just ONE of my favorite fics from Dronarry fest this year, but I narrowed it down to two. Strap in for an hour and immerse yourself because the payoff is WORTH IT!  This one blends the juicy polyjuice trope with a healthy dollop of mistaken identity and a pinch of jealousy. Better yet is the twisty reveal and the absolutely smut-tastic finale that follows.
7. For I Have Found Salvation by @lumosatnight Severus x Harry, wc: 7k, Rating: E
Yes Lani, I couldn’t resist another! I feel like I have to preface this by saying I’m not usually a Snarry fan, but this filthy Priest AU fic is EVERYTHING. The dynamic of guilt and forbidden church sex (while church is IN SESSION) is so fucking delectable. I’m going to just say it and embarrass myself: Insta-Wank Bank. Yep.
8. Nightswimming by @sweet-s0rr0w Draco x Ron (x Harry), wc: 5k, Rating: M
…Which brings me to my SECOND Dronarry fest pick from this year, and I love it so much because it’s all banter and hypotheticals. Draco and Harry are a couple, but Draco and Ron share a car ride where it comes out that maybe they’ve been considering a three-way with Ron. They don’t even fuck, but the tension of them just talking about it is too hot to handle. Bonus: There’s art at the end!
9. Mistletoe Mojito by @amethystheart2421 Sybill x Severus, wc: 3k, Rating: E
This fic knocked me flat on my ass. This lust potion fueled one-night stand fic had me laughing and crying (from hilarity and absurdity and sadness) all at once. Such delightful writing, and the perfect example of crack taken seriously.
10. All That Is Beautiful, Burns In The Making by @sailtomarina Narcissa x Bill, wc: 8k, Rating: E
Narcissa is hot. Bill is hot. We all know this from canon, but imagine they get together and how much hotter they are as a couple! This fic contains such delights as werewolf Bill, seduction, forbidden love, infidelity, knotting, endless refractory periods, voyeurism, rough sex, and mating. It’s not quite A/B/O but it has a lot of the elements that make it such a juicy AU.
11. A Perfect Answer by @p1013 Draco x Harry wc: 9k, Rating: E
Downton Abbey AU. Harry is Draco’s valet and the love is very much forbidden. Contains: pining, jealousy, decorum, emerald cufflinks that Draco favours, and BATHS. Something about it reminds me of Jane Eyre, though I know that’s a different time period and there’s no crazy wife in the attic. I loved this fic so much because it was a well-written AU and it brought a breath of fresh air to an old favorite otp. The angst is divine, and the ending is such a lovely payoff. Enjoy!

This weekend I went to A NO MEN ALLOWED ,SAPPHIC SHIBARI performance.
Must have been 100 lesbians, NBs, heck maybe some cis straight women idk, packed like sardines. Trans women, muslims. Dancing, drinking, sitting in a corner. Highly illegal! Haram af. God save my dirty little soul.
I felt like an imposter but that lessened as the night went on. Looking back, I wonder if a few offhand comments I made could've been seen as aggressive (classic "oh no what if I'm a predatory trans woman" worry). But my friend's partner, who I'd never met before, said I have a very calm, grounding presence. So it must have been okay!!
People move aside from each other. It's safe if someone bumps into you. It's ok if your skirt rides up. Compliments flew left and right. My girlfriend won Best Dressed. They blasted Hot to Go and gave her a crown and sash. I kissed her in front of everybody.
The organizer said she wonders if she's doing enough. But that event felt revolutionary. I think it had the best vibes of any event I've been to. What a huge fucking win!

NOVEMBER 2024 LGBT+ ROMANCE RECS
It's always important to support diverse books, y'all. This isn't new.
But on a financial and outspoken level, it's going to be important in the coming days for Americans (and honestly, unfortunately, non-Americans too) to support queer (and BIPOC) books.
So, with no preamble.... And I do want to make clear, I'm a cis white woman (sexuality: God, I don't even know anymore)... Queer books I think you should try—
F/F:
Make the Season Bright by Ashley Herring-Blake. Contemporary. CHRISTMAS. Charlotte heads to her best friend's house for the holidays, only to find that her best friend's sister brought HER best friend... Brighton, Charlotte's childhood sweetheart who left her at the altar years ago. Angst, lots of holiday dating, and hot hot sex ensue.
Seas and Greetings by Sierra Simone and Julie Murphy. Contemporary. Christmas-adjacent. A high-end influencer embarks on a brand cruise with a stern, super hot bodyguard. But someone is threatening to expose her secret... (not her bisexuality).
This Will Be Fun by E.B. Asher. Fantasy. Years after their fearless leader is killed saving the world, a fgroup of heroes must come back together to... save the world again? Sort of? Two core romances, one of which is m/f and one of which is f/f—a nerdy witchy agoraphobic type comes back into play with the assassin she used to hook up with on previous quests.
Set the Record Straight by Hannah Bonam-Young. Contemporary. Christmas! A pair of friends do the classic fake dating thing when one of them needs a girlfriend for a work function and the other needs a girlfriend to show up her ex at a holiday get together. Bi awakening, very sweet, novella.
An Island Princess Starts a Scandal by Adriana Herrera. Historical. Latina and Afro-Latina leads. An heiress strikes a deal with an older businesswoman; she'll give the businesswoman the property she wants in exchange for an introduction and adventure in sapphic Paris before our girl has to marry a man. Truly excellent content.
The Stars Too Fondly by Emily Hamilton. Sci-fi. A scientist ends up accidentally launching herself and her friends into space, and their only help is the hologram of the ship's former captain, who mysteriously went missing with her entire crew years ago. Also, she's a hot ice queen.
A Sweet Sting of Salt by Rose Sutherland. Historical fantasy. A midwife helps a mysterious fisherman's wife give birth, only to find that the woman's origins may be more mystical than they seem. Spoiler alert: lesbian selkies. Also spoiler alert: Comeuppance for a shitty, shitty husband.
A Long Time Dead by Samara Breger. Historical paranormal. A sex worker is transformed into a vampire and enters into a looooong term sapphic love triangle with the villain of the novel and the uptight, persnickety mentor who's taken her in. Kinda like Interview with the Vampire, but hotter and gayer (yes) and way less of a sausage fest.
Mortal Follies by Alexis Hall. Historical fantasy. A young debutante in a "Midsummer Night's Dream x Pride and Prejudice" type world ends up hexed and in a back and forth with a mysterious lady duke rumored to have committed at least two murders.
The Conquering of Tate the Pious by Sierra Simone. Historical. A medieval abbess has to defend her nunnery against the villainous lady conqueror who's come to town. "Defend" can mean many things, FYI.
The Fiancee Farce by Alexandra Bellefleur. Contemporary. A fun little fake dating inheritance game book, in which a cover model/heiress convinces a woman who's already been pretending that she's his girlfriend to quiet questions, to... You know. Fake being her fiancee. In a farce.
M/M
The Will Darling Adventures by KJ Charles. Trilogy, historical. A WWI vet gets entangled with capers and espionage, while falling for a former Bolshevik upper class danger man. SO FUN.
The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting by KJ Charles. Historical. A romcom in which a prickly upper class man strikes a deal... of a carnal nature... after catching a fortune hunter trying to seduce his niece.
The Witch Walker Series by Charissa Weaks. Fantasy. Multiple romances, and the primary is M/F, but there are multiple POVs and a prominent, excellent, villain second chance romance between two men, both of whom have POVs. Additionally, the hero of the M/F romance has recently been revealed to be bi through the offshoot Tales from Tiressia. Yay!
We Could Be So Good by Cat Sebastian. Historical. 1950s reporters begin as friends, then become roommates, then become... more than roommates.
You Should Be So Lucky by Cat Sebastian. Historical. A baseball player on a rough streak and a grieving and snippy reporter following him around on the sports beat get entangled.
The Queer Principles of Kit Webb by Cat Sebastian. Historical. A former highwayman-turned-cafe-owner agrees to mentor a dandy in the art of highwaymanery so that he can steal from his horrible father. Has deminisexual rep, as well as disability rep.
Glitterland by Alexis Hall. Contemporary. A bipolar down on his luck author hooks up with a working class club kid, then accidentally ends up in a relationship.
Saint by Sierra Simone. Contemporary. A monk ends up touring monasteries with his reporter ex-boyfriend. Lots of exploration of mental health here (and it's super hot).
The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen by KJ Charles. Historical. A new baronet moves to the marsh to care for his messy family, only to find out that one of the leading members the local organized crime family is that guy he used to anonymously hook up with.
The Nobleman's Guide to Seducing a Scoundrel by KJ Charles. A veteran turned nobleman employs a secretary in order to help him hold on to his title (his family hates him) only to realize... that secretary... is hot.
Snow Place Like L.A. by Sierra Simone and Julie Murphy. Contemporary. Christmas-adjacent. A costume designer runs into the one who got away and is SUPER BITTER. But, you know. It's a time for forgiveness.
Mafia Target by Mila Finelli. Dark/mafia. An assassin after a prominent don's son gets obsessed in a different way, and their game of cat and mouse becomes something more.
Band Sinister by KJ Charles. Historical. A flustered young innocent ends up having to head over to the Dangerous House after his sister has to rest there following an injury. Finds out that the group of scoundrels there are both better and worse than he thought. Sendup to gothics!
Heated Rivalry and The Long Game by Rachel Reid. Hockey contemporary. A pair of connected books about the long-term relationship between two hockey rivals, which begins as a hookup situationship and turns into something more... One of my ultimates!
Something Fabulous by Alexis Hall. Historical. After the woman he proposes to runs away, a stuffy duke enlists her fabulous twin brother to help him catch her... Demi rep.
Trans and NB
The Prospects by KT Hoffman. Baseball contemporary. The first trans man in the league ends up on the same team as the guy who abandoned their friendship years ago—leading to a rivalry... which leads to another thing.
Rules for Ghosting by Shelly Jay Shore. Light paranormal. A ghost-seeing trans guy ends up having to return to helping with his family's funeral home... And falls for a volunteer... only that volunteer's husband is currently haunting him. Jewish rep.
Most Ardently by Gabriel Cole Navoa. Historical. YA. A Pride and Prejudice retelling in which we have Oliver Bennet, a trans boy trying his best, and Darcy, the dude he hates.
A Shore Thing by Joanna Lowell. Historical. A widow ends up on a long distance bicycle race with a rakish former artist turned bicycle fiend, who happens to be trans. As a note, the author is married to a trans man who happens to be a queer historian!
Chef's Choice by TJ Alexander. Contemporary. A down on her luck woman agrees to pretend to date a Frenchman from a billionaire family as he embarks on an ancestral cooking challenge. Both leads are trans.
A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall. Historical. After faking her death at Waterloo in order to transition, a woman ends up tending to her former best friend as he recovers from PTSD and a laudanum addiction. He doesn't recognize her at first. At first... Disability and addiction rep.
For the Love of April French by Penny Aimes. Contemporary. A trans woman hooks up with a stranger, only to discover he's just been hired as a higher-up with her company.
The Pairing by Casey McQuiston. Contemporary. Exes (one of whom has come out as NB since they broke up) end up on the same European food and wine tour years later, and agree to reestablish their friendship (dating back to childhood) in a competition to see who can hook up with the most people.
His Valet by S.M. LaViolette. Historical. An NB valet (uses she/her pronouns in respect to the era) pretends to be a man while infatuated with her boss. In order to have a few nights with him, they take up the identity of a mysterious widow... And it spirals BIG TIME from there.
Unmasked by the Marquess by Cat Sebastian. Historical. A marquess believes his new best friend is a man—they're actually in disguise (uses she/her pronouns in respect to the era). After he discovers their true identity, the friendship yields to more...
Something Spectacular by Alexis Hall. Historical. A genderfluid dandy sets out to grudgingly help her ex seduce a castrato soprano... Only to capture their attention herself.
Queer Non-Monogamy (Everyone Is Together To Be Clear)
Triple Sec by TJ Alexander. Contemporary. Open poly triad romance. A bartender meets a sparkly lawyer, only to find out that the sparkly lawyer has an NB spouse. While our bartender dates the lawyer at first, she soon begins recognizing a tension between herself and her new girlfriend's prickly, aloof wife...
The New Camelot Trilogy by Sierra Simone. Dark contemporary, closed triad. A retelling of King Arthur set within the presidency. Super sexy, super angsty, suuuuper poly.
The Lyonesse Series by Sierra Simone (ongoing). Dark contemporary, closed triad (presumably). A retelling of Tristan and Isolde, in which a bodyguard falls for his boss, then is sent to collect said boss's fiancee... And the shit really hits the fan. Again, super hot, really intense.
The Thornchapel Series by Sierra Simone. Dark light paranormal. Closed(ish) triad with a secondary but prominent monogamous f/f romance. A group of childhood friends get back together just in time for a mysterious magic to begin wreaking havoc on the land... VERY dark academia with some pretty intense taboo (message me if concerned).
Consort of Fire and Queen of Dreams by Kit Rocha. Fantasy, closed triad. A princess sets out to marry a dragon shifter known for killing his previous spouses—except she, with the help of her handmaiden and lover, sets out to kill HIM.
Give Me More by Sara Cate. Contemporary, closed triad. A married couple and their best friend set out on a road trip together, only for things to become... blurred.

Can u tell i like one sided relationships /hj
My thoughts abt this chart:
I think Izaack is super gay. He hides it perfectly under this hypermasculine facade. He thinks that the silly businessman with a crisp purple suit is cute af too
Robertsky definitely gets a slight crush on almost any woman he meets but its never anything substantial and serious. This stems from his low self-esteem and loneliness
Roman is suspicious of Mclooy bc he thinks he has a crush on his wife. He's right but can't do anything about it because Mclooy is a gentleman. Him and Lois sometimes get into heated discussions about this
Steven is closeted. His father often asks when he'll get a girl but could never tell him the truth about the fine young man (dr. Afton) he saw at the grocery store (only to find out they live in the same building)
I said this before that Elenois is sapphic (so is Selenne) but i dont think they really notice the neighbors enough to know them. So they most likely catch feelings for co-stars
I really like AlbertskyxMargarette thanks to one of yalls cute asf fanarts
i dont have a lot of hcs for the nightmare residents relationships bc honestly in my head, they all dont really care about each other??? Other than occasional bickering but thats it

Sharing my thoughts for Bridgerton season 3 cause I’m a hater
spoilers obviously i guess?
Disclaimer: i have not read the books but I have enjoyed both previous seasons more
Things I didn’t like (there’ll be things I liked too we just need to get this out of the way):
They tried to swamp in SO MANY side plots that I kinda lost the fact that this was Penelope and Colin’s love story?
Benedict and that random woman? I mean okay she’s cool but I guess it was unnecessary. Like it didn’t add anything to the plot, it would’ve been more interesting to see more about his artistic career but no, we have to see that he’s a rake (like every single Bridgerton man lol)
Colin’s Littlefinger moment? (You know what I’m talking about corporate can’t find the difference between them, they’re the same picture) wtf
WAY too few moments with my baddies Lady Danbury and Queen Charlotte
I just didn’t feel the chemistry between Pen and Colin, sue me.
Colin didn’t grovel enough. You can’t change my mind
Also Colin’s personality is… nonexistent? Like yeah did he get hotter? But did he have any distinguishable traits that weren’t “i have studied abroad and now I think I’m cooler than everyone”, “i’m such a rake lol” or “wow was Pen always this pretty?”
I didn’t feel the VIBES with them I’m sorry Colin could’ve done better😭
The WINK (deserves jail time)
The balloon scene was goofy AF. My girl had 5-8 business days to run away but she just stood there like 👁️👄👁️
Lord Debling nature guy just slipping down to her and spooning her like what’s that gonna do? Bro had 1 braincell and it was focused on those endangered birds
Colin and friends ™️ leaving everything behind to stop the balloon from taking off, then 5 seconds later balloon guy just levitating away as if nothing had happened? xdd
I’m all for Violet finding happiness but idk that guy just seemed random. Also something’s definitely off — other than him being a rake — cause Lady Danbury does NOT like him
The fact that it’s two parts ugh
Queerbaiting at its finest when we know they’re going to keep the book couples…
Things I liked (finally)
Penelope!! She’s so beautiful
Queen Charlotte’s wigs? Otherwordly
Francesca and her guy? My introvert babies
Anthony and Kate omg
The Featherington sisters were so funny actually. Like I didn’t like them before but they made this whole season better
Snow on the beach and Pitbull is the combo we didn’t know we needed in the bridgerton soundtrack
The fact that *the dream* was Colin’s and not Pen’s 🥹
Cressida and Eloise!! Most likely nothing will happen but I am here for the barest hint of sapphics
I also like Cressida’s redemption arc. She was an awful person but everyone deserves second chances and I think her friendship with Eloise is truly helping her become a better person. It was nice to see her side too, her conflicts about life as a woman and her issues with her parents. She’s still not an overly “positive” or “supporting” character, but I believe she’s on the way. I’d jump out of my window in happiness if something more than friendship happened with her and El🤭
All in all, part 1 so far was disappointing in my opinion. I am eagerly awaiting part 2, hoping it’ll make up for it and not let me down. I hope the Lady Whistledown reveal won’t be downplayed and Colin won’t be like “oh you’re Lady W? Whatever no worries idc” (although idk how it happens in the book)
What are your thoughts? Theories?

Rick Riordan is a cishet white goyische man. We knew this. But you can see this in his writing, no matter when. Yeah, he's grown, but he didn't grow astronomically.
In this post I'll be talking about how history, women, queer people, and POC are handled in Rick Riordan's YA novels. I'm Jew-ish, very queer, and was socialized as a girl, but I'm white so POC tell me if I overstep or get anything wrong and feel free to add!
Also this is long af, way longer than I intended, so under the cut it goes!
The Pact and Wars
I think I've talked about this before (cannot find the post) but the way history is handled is so racist and antisemitic. Wars are not because of their real reasons, but instead conflict. WWII is made to be because Hades, Zeus, Poisiedon, and their kids had another spat, instead of the fascism and racism that really caused it. The Civil War, instead of being about racism, was made to be about a fight between the romans and greeks. The wars we see in series have no connection to real world events, why couldn't the old ones be the same? It also deminshes the accomplishments of real people. For example, Harriet Tubman is said to be a daughter of Hermes. To me, this says a black disabled woman can't do great things without great blood in a world where that exists
Annabeth
Annabeth is a girl boss, and this would be great, if her writer wasn't a cishet man. Being strong is equated to being mean, physically and verbally. When she thinks Rachel likes Percy, a guy she isn't even dating, she gets pissy at them for even hanging out! She constantly demeans Percy and hits people who anger her, including Percy, and this is treated as cute and quirky. And then her trauma is dismissed and diminished by a boy who went through similar treatment. Sorry Percy also was hurt by who his author is, but it makes things worse with Annabeth's portrayal. Also she once says people don't take her seriously because she's blonde. During HoO. With Piper and Hazel right there
The Hunters
The Hunters of Artemis, in mythology, are a group of women and sometimes men who joined Artemis to escape the deeply misogynistic culture at the time, and there are sapphic undertones to much of their myths! In the books, they're portrayed as man hating, romance hating, and functionally aroace. Hippolytus is completely ignored. Zoë is constantly talking down to Percy without giving him a chance and makes probably the dumbest decision by choosing Bianca for the quest in Titan's Course. Jo and Emmie were kicked out for finding love. I'm aroace. I love aroace rep. I'm overly weary of (cis white) men. But the way the Hunters are written is so similar to how angry anti-SJW youtube saw feminists
Nico
Nico is forcibly outed in one book and in the next gets a boyfriend with literally no personality or relationship with him up to that point. The drawbacks of shadow travel so clearly align with disability. He's also obviously depressed and deeply traumatized. Yet Will gives him no medical autonomy, something we disabled folk have to deal with all the time that's really very ableist. I love Nico, but the way he's portrayed just isn't great
Sadie and Carter
Sadie and Carter are biracial and look wildly different. This is good representation from what I've heard, but not how it's different or some incidental stuff. Carter, the boy, has dark skin and dark, coily hair, while Sadie, the girl, has pale skin, striaght blond hair, and pale eyes. This plays into colorism where darker people are seen as more masculine, as does Carver being the host to the god of war. Sadie is also a young girl who's put into a relationship with a god who kinda bullied her at the start. Carver is also in a relationship with a person who was hostile, but she gets better so I'll let is slide
Leo
Leo is latino, and stereotypical at that. Je is constantly flirting with everyone and looked down upon. As a Leo who is not an astronomical Leo, he deserves better especially when you consider c//leo
Piper
"I'm not like other girls" girl who's hailed as absolutely gorgeous. She was born on a rez that didn't exist at the time which just goes to show the lack of research. Her eyes are kaleidoscope, which is a trait none of her siblings, or her mom, have. She's cut off from her culture enough to not know the significance of feathers but has plenty of memories of her grandfather who lived on the rez. Also, she's a cleptomaniac. I love Piper, I like how she's representation for a person who was cut off from her culture and longs to know it despite living with her bio family because I and a few friends are the same, but Piper is still a stereotype. I also feel like the veganism plays into the whole spiritual nature stereotype, but I'm not sure so don't quote me
Frank
The only confirmed greco-roman demigod without dyslexia is also East Asian. I think the stereotyping is obvious it doesn't help that the only two Asian characters before him, Ethan and Drew, were antagonists. He was infantalized while fat and then had a magic glow up for... no reason, really, but that matters less here. Also he's dating a seventh grader as a tenth grader basically and I'm trying to not spoil stuff but the end of the Tyrant's Tomb is bullshit from a lore perspective imo
Hazel
She's a black girl whose parents both had very dark eyes and hair, yet her eyes are gold and her hair is paler than her skin, and both of those last two are described as looking like foods. Again, she is the age of a 7th grader. See Frank. And this may be the fandom's fault, but it seems she's always either infantalized or adultified from what I've seen
Will
All we know about Will Solace in BoO is that he's attracted to men and a medic son of Apollo. I bet you didn't remember he was at the Battle of Manhattan or that he's counselor because all his siblings died. And that's a lot of kids. Also he calls Nico nicknames he doesn't like. See Nico for further criticism of Will
Alex
Alex is called the adjective form of a slur multiple times. I could talk about how the grammar of that sucks, but *gesturs vaguely.* She gets transphobia from nearly everyone and disowned. I thought fantasy was supposed to be escapist, personally
Other stuff
Samirah is a hijabi, but we see under her scarf at least once and that feels really disrespectful, especially considering how observant she is of other stuff. Only women or close family (brothers, direct descendants, or direct ancestors) can see a hijabi's hair. Even if Magnus, Hearth, and Blitz are like family that usually isn't enough. She should have gotten a regular valkyrie's cloak imo. Some stuff feels off about Hearth but I'm not D/deaf so I'll hold my tongue on that as I'm not sure. Lavinia could use more yiddishisms in her speech and I'm curious to know what sect she was if her rabbi wasn't cool with her being a lesbian, but they do exist so *shrug.* There's probably something I missed with Reyna and Hylla, I feel like there is, but I can't remeber so it just gets an honorary mention

Note
woman coded tfw seems to have made a resurgence :/ just today I've seen multiple posts about how people hate s*stiel because they're "sapphic coded"... sometimes I think the lesbian erasure calls are coming from within the house (don't get me wrong there were some sexist and homophobic writers but it really feels wrong that the same people complaining about how queer characters and women were treated in the show are perfectly happy to ignore actual canonical queer women in favor of claiming there favs are oppressed by Big Destiel and Big Deangirl because they're "woman-coded")
first of all anon thank you for telling me about sapphic-coded s*stiel because i haven't stopped thinking about it for days now.
but yeah. agreed. this fandom is shameless when it comes to cynically weaponising the language used to discuss ACTUAL bigotry in the canon so that they can argue sam winchester is actually gnc af and also experiences lesbophobia or w/e. you're watching The White Men With Weapons Show. shut up!!!

“AND THEY WERE ROOMMATES” WENCLAIR MASTERLIST
an incomplete list of sapphic-coded moments, themes, and, subtext relating to Wednesday and Enid in the Netflix TV show WEDNESDAY in chronological order.
OR a list of why this show is gay AF and why Wenclair would be a great canon ship.
Please note that there is a lot of different kinds of ways to interpret events in this show. This interpretation is from a mid to late 20′s lesbian cis woman. A lot of nuances that I touch on may not make sense to non-lesbians and straight people  but please don’t dismiss them immediately.
*Will eventually have a post for each episode.*
[EP 1]   [EP 2]   [EP 3]   [EP 4]   [EP 5]   [EP 6]   [EP 7]   [EP 8]
Wednesday’s Child is Full of Woe: EP 1.
The Lesbian Sweater
Enid is wearing a sweater that looks exactly like the sunset lesbian flag. There is no way that the costume department did not know what they were doing. *Edited to add that Bobby Soutar, one of the co-designers is a gay man. This further shows that the sweater lesbian colors were intentional.

Rejecting Traditional Family Structure
Wednesday is shown to actively reject the heteronormative expectations to become a housewife and have a family. Even though the Addams Family is creepy and  kooky, Mysterious and spooky, and all together ooky, they still have the traditional family structure. Mother & Father,  and children.
The act of this rejection sets Wednesdays desires up to not be like her parents. This can be interpreted many different ways. Due to heterosexual representation being the standard depiction, a lot of lesbians and sapphic women grew up rejecting the traditional family structure. When compulsory heterosexuality is experienced, that can also manifest as the desire to not want to love or not thinking they could experience love.

Body Language Attraction: Leaning In.
This is an extremely common display of attraction. It’s extra important to note that Wednesday is ALSO leaning towards Enid. This scene is immediately after they meet for the first time.
Tumblr media
Body Language Attraction: Physical Proximity.
This one is similar to the one above but I would like to touch more on this.
Physical Proximity between Enid and Wednesday is constant throughout the show. The reason why it is sapphic-coded and not just female friendship is the fact that Wednesday is well, Wednesday. As a general rule, she desires solitude over companionship, and does not do physical displays of affection or emotions. Other friendships depicted between her and others do not have the same level of closeness. Wednesday even physically flinches away from even her mother air-stroking her arm.
Dismissing Love Interests
In later episodes Enid is shown to be infatuated with Ajax, yet in episode 1 she dismisses him without hesitation and doesn’t really show an interest in him. It doesn’t fit with how she acts with him the rest of the season. As the show progresses, Wednesday and Enid become closer - It is not entirely impossible to reason that Enid is panicking over possible attractions and feelings for her roommate and to counter this throws her interest into a non-threatening and non-masculine guy. This is a common experience for people dealing with comphet.
I’d also like to add in that throughout the series, Wednesday constantly rejects the advances of men in her life.
Tumblr media
Wednesday “Social Media is awful” Addams finding a way to read/watch Enid’s vlog.
Let’s just appreciate the fact that as soon as she could, she went out of her way to access Enid’s vlog the same day they met.
Tumblr media
Enid’s reactions to the Fencing Challenge.
I think it’s important to note the facial expression on her face wincing after the 2nd round, and looking disappointed when Wednesday lost the 3rd round.
Tumblr media
Wednesday Opening Up to Enid/Enid being a safe person for Wednesday to trust.
The WHOLE balcony scene. Wednesday actively shows interest in Enid and questions her after noticing she’s self-concious. She continues engaging in the conversation. And then when Enid explicitly states that she is upset, Wednesday shares an event that shaped her life and who she is. This is “Emotion equals weakness” Wednesday sharing a painful memory to someone she barely knew.
I’d like to also point out that Wednesday is very Neurodivergent coded and one of the ways Neurodivergent people show empathy and that they care and are listening and understanding others, is to share relatable experiences.
WEDNESDAY WAS BEING EMPATHETIC TOWARDS A GIRL SHE HAD JUST MET AND LET HERSELF BE VULNERABLE.
And Nevermores queen of gossip vlogger assures Wednesday that she won’t misplace the trust and vulnerability Wednesday shared with her.
Bonus GIF included of a less than enthusiastic response from Enid getting her single room back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Distrust of Tyler/Respect of Wednesday’s autonomy.
Enid questions Wednesday’s trust in Tyler but unlike other characters, accepts Wednesday’s answer without trying to fight back. She takes her at her word and respects her decisions.
Tumblr media
Respectful of Boundaries
The great thing about how Enid treats Wednesday is that she constantly pushes Wednesday to get out of her comfort zones while also respecting the boundaries Wednesday puts into place. She acknowledges them and doesn’t get upset. And she doesn’t just give up either - She tries again knowing full well she may get that hug rejected. This is the second time in this episode that she attempts to go for a hug and allows Wednesday the room to say no, and respects the decision.

BONUS LIL SUBTEXT
Xavier knows, he just does. And so does the actor Percy “If she’s gonna be romantic with anybody, it’s got to be with Enid.” Hynes White.

Thanks for reading, let me know if there’s anything I missed!
