did anyone else read the twilight series at 11 years old and have the way you perceive interpersonal interactions completely shifted? i cant even remember how this fits in the books but i feel like that was what taught me that people try to obscure their true feelings and motivations and you have to look past their expressions and words and think about what they want and what they might be doing to achieve it. but also that you can control how you seem to people to manipulate them. i also read a lot of books taking place in pre and early modern royal courts so there was a lot of that in them too.
