Medical Marvel
I’ve had this idea for a series floating in my head for a while, so…consider this a potential preview? Possibly? if anyone wants a more original series?
Clones: Rex, Fives, Echo, Hunter, Wrecker, Tech and Crosshair
Cw: Before order 66, Mostly fluff, some talk of corporate corruption, Padme is a good friend, a single mention of smut for Crosshair, Minors DNI
Not proofread I die like a MAN
Your lover had just returned to Coruscant from a mission in the outer ridges. He came to your science lab to visit you at work when one of your colleagues directed him to your office. Before he entered, he happened to overhear your conversation with Senator Amidala.
“Athakam?”
“No, too corporate.” You spoke to Padme through your holocom, “Also they’re still neutral.”
“Kirgalis?” Padme offered another medical company name.
“No, they’ll raise the price 400 times more than it takes to manufacture.” You responded sounding frustrated.
“You can’t keep turning down every company,” The senator had a slight laugh to her words, “You have to find someone to help you with this research. If it goes through and the medicine is successful, do you know how wonderful that would be?”
Medicine? Your clone lover didn’t know you were working on a type of medicine. You were performing research on clone health, but he had no idea the main goal was medicine.
“I know Padme…” It sounded like you had your face in your hands, “I just…I want to make it affordable for the clones. Medicine that can slow their aging to a normal rate, that should be affordable. Especially after everything the clones sacrifice for the Republic.”
“You’ll probably have many clones from different battalions confess their love for you because of this. You know that right?” Padme teased you.
“And all I want is the love of one specific clone,” You spoke about him so sweetly, “I hope he returns from the outer rims soon. I’ll surprise him with the research. Tell him how this medicine works. How he can live a normal life for a normal length of time.”
“Will you tell him how you named it after him?”
“Soon.” You sighed, “I need to get back to work, Padme. Thank you for letting me brainstorm.”
Rex
Will fall in love all over again
He's going to try and pretend he didn't hear the conversation, but clones can't lie for shit so you know something is up
That's when he will admit he overheard the conversation
"Mesh'la...What I heard...is it real?"
When you confirm it for him, he's going to pull you into a very deep and very passionate kiss
Normally he's more professional of course, but right now, he's so overcome with emotion
A medicine that gives him and his brothers a chance at a normal life after the war?
It's the greatest gift anyone could ever give him
He knows realistically that there is still an entire process of getting the medicine approved, talking with medical companies, manufacturing and a lot of moving parts that he has no idea goes into medical research
He's going to support you in every way possible, all while falling more and more in love with you
Fives
May genuinely open the door and want to marry you then and there
You, the love of his life, have researched and found a way to make medicine to slow a clones aging to a normal rate?
and you want it affordable for all of his brothers?
Fives is going to worship the ground where you walk
As soon as that door is open his lips are ON you
He doesn't even pretend like he doesn't know, he'll be admitting it between kisses
"Mesh'la...Cyare...I love you...I love you so much!"
He's not going to care if your fellow scientists see him damn near making out with you
He may be a bit optimistic on the whole...making medicine process. He'll think it'll be an easy process so you'll have to remind him that patience is important
Even if it takes a couple years, he's so proud and so happy
Echo (Clone Force 99)
More reserved in his happiness and his affection
He'll knock on the door, and pretend he didn't hear anything
He doesn't want to ruin the surprise! He knows you'll share with him everything when your more confident it'll work out
He is WELL AWARE what scientific advancement without reigns can do, so he's actually very relieved that your vetting your potential manufacturers
However, he is beyond happy that your so focused on helping the clones
Echo actually does well pretending to be surprised when you finally tell him about your research and the medicine your making
this man will actually die when you also tell him you've named your research after him
He'll be so honored, and just kiss you all over your face
Also great at keeping the research secret if you can't go public with it yet
Hunter
Like Echo, he hides the fact that he overheard
He doesn't act an differently, I'd say
He knows you want to surprise him, so he's going to wait, and pretend like you caught him off guard when you tell him everything
But you bet your ass he's fulling in love with you about this
He's damn near hypnotized by your compassion for clones
Plus? the idea of living a much longer life with you? the both of you being together to grow old at the same time?
His heart is RACING at the idea
However, unlike the others, I think Hunter knows to a degree that there is some level of danger to you once you go public with your research and medicine
Kamino doesn't like it when someone gives agency to their 'property'
Someone managed to find a way to override clones sped-up aging? Yea, Kamino may not be happy about that.
So...Hunter may actually become somewhat more protective once you tell him
Wrecker
He's going to ask what you were talking about, won't hide the fact that he heard
He's curious! he might not entirely 'get' the science of it, but he gets the gist of whats going on.
You researched and found a way to slow clones aging so they can live a normal life span? Yea he understands!
and he's so SO happy!
Ecstatic completely
Will go to the rest of his brothers and tell them the amazing news!
He's proud! and so in love!
Because of you, he and the rest of his brothers now have the choice to live their lives however they wish at the end of the war
They can have families, learn a trade, become something other than soldiers
and so can he! with you! you gave him more time with you!
Tech
You think he doesn't know what you've been researching?
He most likely already had a vague idea, even if you tried to hide it
While he is absolutely so proud and so happy, he's going to step in and help you now
He'll do some research on potential manufacturers, vet medical companies and find ways to make this medicine affordable for all clones
Tech is going to be very interested in the creation process
How did you begin this research? what components have you used? Where did you get the idea for such a protocol?
He'll listen to you talk about your research for hours
It doesn't even matter its for the clones! He's just so insanely proud and in love with you over such an achievement
The fact that this medicine can allow him to live a long life with you? someone who he adores? Thats a plus
Crosshair (Warning, there is slight smut)
He's not going to dance around the topic. He'll just tell you straight up that he heard the entire call
That doesn't mean he isn't happy! he is!
But now he needs to actually think about the future. what he wants besides being a soldier.
I mean, your research and medicine is giving him and his brothers an incredible chance at normal lives after the war!
It's going to hit him that 'yes, I can have a life that doesn't revolve around the battlefield' and that honestly scares him
But, despite that, he's going to grab your hand and keep you in your office so he could...show you how happy he is that you've done such an incredible thing
He knows you've worked hard, and to find out its for him and his brothers? it makes his heart flutter
and knowing you've named your research after him as well? Will fluster him
But, like Hunter, he knows that by being so selfless, you're a target for greedy companies that want your research
He knows how cutthroat competition for profits among corporations can be
Crosshair might actually step away from Clone Force 99 in order to act as a bodyguard for you
at least until he knows that you'll be safe. He loves you too much to be careless with your safety

There's a lot this article touches on, but the parts about fossil preparation are kind of in poor taste. I'll go over some of it under the cut.
Tumblr media
There's a reason we usually don't publish on things we prepare. They say it right here - we can literally, whether purposeful or accidental, modify fossils as we see fit. We could imitate pathologies or create marks with air scribes or picks that are misinterpreted as pathologies, remove or obscure parts of a fossil that may be diagnostic, etc. (Of course we don't endear to do these things, they're just possible).
Whether through inexperience or poor dexterity some budding preparators can cause damage that only someone with a trained eye could notice. Preparators aren't always required to be trained in the sciences or have thorough anatomical knowledge, and thus can reconstruct things wrong, without scientific guidance. Like filling holes where there's supposed to be… holes! Like a fenestrum or foramen, for example. This is why we have references, but more importantly, we do the minimum unless instructed to do otherwise by a supervisor or exhibits team - one of a few scenarios where a curator can rightfully step in.
Tumblr media
This is why we're trained to preserve almost any bone we see. Often there are small isolated bone chunks hovering in matrix that are thrown in a box with the specimen. A lot of pieces can't be reattached because they're too weathered or of indeterminate origins (“IBF’s” for short).
"Creating" something "artistic" is another way of implying we're making it up as we go.
Tumblr media
If someone hands me a fossil and tells me to look at this "multimedia sculpture", I'd be confused. It's a fossil, not an art project.
Academic fossil preparation is fundamentally a scientific endeavor that also requires artistic abilities, but not creativity. We use various methods that are tried and true (and sometimes experiment with new ones) to expose an element from matrix.
The act of preparing a fossil is not providing new data. The fossil itself is the data. We just make it available. That being said, if we provide measurements, take and analyze samples of the matrix for various analyses, then that's providing valuable data. Would that warrant an authorship? Maybe.
This raises another question though. If anyone who worked on a fossil gets an authorship, then can authorship compound?
The person who found the fossil but didn't do anything with it afterwards - just dug it up and sent it to the lab, for example. Do they get to be an author? On our field crews we have up to 30 people over the whole season. 30 coauthors and 99% of them are not scientists.
The collections manager who just painted a number on it, catalogued it, and put it away?
How about the curator who allowed a researcher access to the collection who didn't collect any data but just answered some emails and opened the drawer for it to be studied?
The land owner who gave you permission to dig?
Finally, the preparator who just exposed it from the rock. They do more science inherently than the others, but if no parts of the scientific method were conducted and no data was produced (save for the fossil simply being brought back into the world), do they get an authorship?
tl;dr We don't need authorships for the act of preparing fossils unless we provide data and go through the scientific process (like what's usually required for any authorship). Many parts of the process is not science. Just acknowledge our work in your paper and we'll be more than happy.

Detective Sentences, Vol. 6
(Sentences from various sources for detectives and/or muses that like to solve mysteries. Adjust phrasing where needed)
"I think we need to put a fresh pair of eyes on this."
"Since when do you care about other people's privacy?"
"Why are you asking this if you know it all anyway?"
"Even a novice reader of detective stories knows not to touch the crime scene."
"I'm heading to the pub. You coming?"
"I've had a look in your suitcase. You'll have to forgive me for that."
"Respectfully, I don't like that theory."
"What now? Are you going to arrest me?"
"You set me up!"
"It is a poor detective that blames her evidence."
"May I remind you that there is an offence called Wasting Police Time?"
"If you're not prepared to go to the police and tell the truth, then I will!"
"Is it my imagination, or are you asking me questions as if I were a suspect?"
"Cold cases are 99% forensics, so we need to do everything we can to help the scientists find that DNA golden nugget."
"There is still a lot about this that doesn't make sense..."
"I see more questions here than I do answers."
"I think someone who's been hiding an affair might have other things to hide."
"No detail is too small."
"Given the opportunity, men like him always kill again."
"Each victim was found with their liver ripped out."
"I must say, you seem strangely reluctant to follow a promising lead."
"But who would want to kill her?"
"I am not a murderer!"
"You never had a chance. For every step you take, they're three steps ahead."
"Would you mind telling me exactly what happened last night?"
"People murder for two reasons: money or love."
"Do you like detective stories?"
"On a scale of one to ten, how confident are you of his innocence?"
"I'm not the one going round and poking my nose into places where it's liable to get cut off."
"Sometimes new eyes on a case can be just as useful as new information."
"If you find the right starting point and follow it, not even secrets of the darkest of men are safe."
"You know better than most that we are not put in this world to avoid danger. Not when an innocent person's life is at stake."
"Nothing disappears without a trace."
"You can't come in here, sir!"
"Get you, acting like a proper copper!"
"You know, some of the best murderers are women."
"If you refuse to tell me what you know, it shall be a very serious matter indeed."

Kids are wild, dude.
Couple days ago, me and Partner popped over to Disney Springs to a) buy some mead, and b) spend gift card money to go see the Boy and the Heron (10/10 so good).
I was chilling on a wall outside, waiting for Partner in the bathroom, and behind me, I hear a tiny, clear voice, filled with the plaintive ennui of someone who's been trapped in a time loop for aeons unknown, say, "just let me die."
*Freeze, slow turn*
Reader, allow me to paint you a picture.
There is a man, the daddest man perhaps ever to dad. He is wearing a visor. The visor says something like, "have a Disney day™️" on it in red swirly font. His hair is sticking straight up out of the top of the visor, like a mad scientist who forgot he was leaning on the Tesla coil when he told his Igor to throw the switch, henchman! This gives the distinct impression that this is not his visor, but rather was hastily thrust upon him, likely by a spouse who is also in the bathroom. It was cold out (for Florida anyway), so this man was wearing a heavy Patagonia fleece, and, in true Dadly fashion, little cargo shorts, pockets bulging, dragging the shape of the garment parabolically earthward, laden with the responsibilities inherent in being the Vacation Manager and Bearer of the Visor. His legs were covered in gooseflesh. But, reader, he bore it.
He had sunglasses, those iridescent mirrored kind that make you think of sport fishermen. But they dangled around his neck, so I could see his eyes, vacant, staring, lined with the patient resignation that can only come from loving someone who is A Lot To Be Around. His hand, large and calloused and properly Daddish, was clasped with another set of tiny digits.
Dangling from his arm with a comfortable drama that implied this was but one time of many, was a tiny girlchild, no more than maybe five years old, wearing a full length Rapunzel princess gown, light-up Sketchers, and pink, glittery mouse ears that had been knocked askew in the process of her collapse and gave her hair the air of waging a losing battle with a little bird.
This girl, with the face of a cherub and the serious manner of an elderly man of state, stared off into a slightly different middle distance than her father. Her sketchers trailed over the ground as she rocked slightly in his gentle-but-firm grip. She sighed, and reader, I felt that sigh. In my bones. No one who's never experienced the weight of deep debt looming over them should be able to sigh like that.
She opened her mouth and said again in that clear, innocent voice, "Please won't you let me die?"
Her father, aware that people had begun to take notice, shook his head. "We're just waiting for Mommy."
This did not satisfy the tot. Still without a shred of distress, just the solemnity of a gig worker with twelve different 10-99 forms to file come tax season, asked "Yeah, but why can't I just die now?"
Her father closed his eyes. He was silent for long enough that I knew on some level he was wondering the same thing about himself. People were Aware of the situation now. Eventually he took a deep breath and looked down at her, still hanging from his arm. "It's against the rules to die at Disney World," he said. "Even if you want to. But tell you what, if you wait until we get back home, you can die there instead. That way Mommy and I can both be there."
The girl's mood brightened immediately. She got her feet under her and straightened, beaming up at her dad. "Oh, okay," she said. "After Mommy comes can we go to Legos?"
There's not really a proper end to the story, Partner just came out of the bathroom and we went to the movie. But damb. I hope that little girl knows I'll think about her at least once a day for the rest of my life.
Don't die. There might be Legos in it if you stay.

Hey, everyone! I know it's been a hot minute, but I have an idea for a fic that I'm probably never going to right, but I thought you guys might like to hear about it anyway!
The thing is, I love crossovers. Even if there are just crossover elements, I'm happy. So, here's what I've come up with:
Star Wars: The Clone Wars w/ Spider-Man Elements!
An independent Kaminoan scientist is doing independent experiments on spiders. One day, two of their spider experiments escape.
The corridor that lab is in is a good shortcut to some of the training centers, and CT-5555, aka Fives, and CT-1409, aka Echo, happen to be using it as the spiders are out.
They both get bitten, but they don't think anything of it. They go to training as normal.
Come nightfall, Hevy, Cutup, and Droidbate are in a panic because something is wrong. Both Fives and Echo have fevers, not so severe that they need the medbay, but still worrying.
Come morning, they have ✨ spider powers✨
Here's what I imagine their powers will be, and possible weaknesses they have.
Echo
Organic webbing, like Toby Maguire.
Venom shock, like Miles Morales in Spider-Verse
Stickiness, obviously
Super strength
Spider sense
Enhanced senses
Fangs like Miguel O'Hara, but smaller
Purring
Enhanced metabolism
Healing
Lack of thermoregulation
Sudden aversion to mint and vinegar
Fives
Also organic webbing
Super strength
Stickiness
Spider sense
Enhanced senses
Venomous fangs that retract (I read about that in an MCU fanfic that I can't remember the name of)
Invisibility, also like Miles Morales
Purring
Enhanced metabolism
Healing
Lack of thermoregulation
Sudden aversion to mint and vinegar
I would also like to note that when they are feeling overwhelmed, cornered, or protective, they are liable to go a little feral.
Anyway, they figure out their powers with the help of their batch, and keep everything completely secret from everyone else. So, at the time of their Citadel exam, they're a lot closer.
Except 99, of course. He helped raise everyone. And Clone Force 99, eventually. Fives and Echo, and the rest of the Dominoes, love those kids. Fives and Echo help them feel not alone.
However, both Fives and Echo are overstimulated, because Bric is an asshole, so they aren't at the top of their game. Hevy decides they should take a calculated risk, and they throw the exam
(in my opinion, this just speaks for their faith in Shaak Ti)
Anyway, they pass the exam the second time around and get sent to Rishi. The twins still keep their powers a secret, but they still train with their powers.
When the invasion of commando droids comes knocking, Echo and Fives' spider senses clue them in, so everyone survives! Yay!
The twins do go feral, and they go a little crazy with the webs, but the first wave is pretty much obliterated by the time Cody and Rex show up. It is stressful to clean up all the webs. Luckily, the rest of the Dominoes distract Cody, Rex, and all the others on Rishi
Anyway, everyone survives so all of Domino squad joins the 501st
Eventually, the Dominoes trust the legion enough to tell them about the spider situation, and everyone loves it!
At one point, Hevy pulls Rex aside and is like, Fives and Echo see boundaries differently, so they were afraid to cross yours by asking, so I'm gonna ask for them. Wanna join us for a nest pile at some point? Because that is a thing they do at least once a week.
(also, that lil interaction is my way of saying I headcanon Fives and Echo as neurodivergent)
Also, once the Bad Batch gets out into the field, the Dominoes absolutely follow their missions, cause they're so proud.
Echo and Fives have told Rex all about them, so the 501st gets to work with them a lot sooner.
As Jesse is leading the Batch to the barracks they'll be sharing with the Dominoes, they hear the Dominoes talking about how proud they are of the Bad Batch and that they really hope the Batch wants to do nest piles like when they were cadets but if not they'll respect their boundaries, blah blah blah
Hearts melt, and a nest pile happens, of course!
And of course thanks to the spider senses Echo doesn't get captured, Umbara doesn't go to shit, the chip situation happens differently, and Order 66 doesn't happen!
Thanks for reading! If anyone ends up making something out of this, let me know! I'd love to see it!

My friend (>:|) started talking to me about someone writing a Steddie JP AU, but all that did was make me really want a Camp Cretaceous AU with the Party. So please come along with me for a moment.
Will Byers wins an art contest to get there. Dustin beats a video game. Mike enters a storytelling competition. Max's skateboarding sponsors send her. Lucas and Erica's mom is one of the lead scientists, so they usually live up the island with their dad, who lets them go to the camp to hang out (which incidentally means neither of them but especially not Erica is impressed with the camp). El... no one's quite sure how El got there. She's quiet.
The camp counselors, Steve and Eddie, introduce themselves at the dock and take the new arrivals to the camp to meet Lucas and Erica. Everyone hits it off well that first night, trading their stories about how they got here, talking about dinosaurs. Most of them actually do like dinosaurs, but there's a line drawn in the sand about whether these even ARE dinosaurs (Will and Dustin argue they are NOT, Lucas and Mike argue that they ARE, Max doesn't care she just thinks they're cool, Erica doesn't care she just thinks they're not cool, El doesn't really know what dinosaurs are, but it's her fault they got into the debate).
They actually get to spend a few days on the island before shit hits the fan. Getting into shenanigans, learning the layout, seeing things that will come back later. Getting little hints of the evil going on behind the scenes, but in ways that don't particularly set off alarm bells until you're looking back.
And then the indorex breaks containment and the island gets abandoned. The kids are out when it happens, maybe in the riding balls so they end up relatively safe, but not recovered. Steve and Eddie stay behind to try to find them, but they JUST miss each other several times, and finally they're forced to leave the kids there despite KNOWING in their BONES that the kids ARE alive.
The kids spend the next 6 months surviving the wilds of jurassic world. Dustin befriends a dinosaur he names Dart and gets lost in the woods for a while when they get separated. They build a fort from the remains of the camp. They go on adventures to acquire food and drink and try to communicate with the mainland. They face off against opportunistic poachers and nearly escape on the boat, eventually making it to the nearby island and finding out all the lurking evil from the first half of the story has come back to bite them, and they can't go home without saving the dinosaurs from the Russians running some kind of underground dinosaur fight club.
Meanwhile on the mainland, Jonathan is mourning his little brother while Joyce is trying to figure out how to get them to the island to go looking for Will. Nancy turns up because she caught a wisp of communication from Mike from one of their attempts to contact home, and she KNOWS they are alive. So the three of them start digging and end up in contact with Steve and Eddie who are like yeah we got you, we can get you there, we know the place, we'll come help. So THEIR group ends up heading to the islands to look.
Hopper, meanwhile, as head of security for the island, has been losing his mind because he cannot think how this happened except one of his team failed but he personally vetted the whole team, they were all exceptional. it HAD to be sabotage. Someone was not telling him something. He's furious. He ends up going to the island to investigate , and runs aground of Joyce's group, and ends up joining them.
They find evidence of the kids on the island, and then somehow end up in radio contact with the kids on the other island. They call in authorities (hello Sam Owens), and hop islands to go get the kids, who by this point have definitely befriended Murray the scientist who is 99% certain there's a conspiracy going on he hasn't figured out yet and Dmitri, one of the robots they've reprogrammed to be on their side instead. They're getting ready to go head to head with Dr. Brenner, El's "dad" in some way, when Joyce's group finally gets to them, and it's getting kind of grim until Sam's group also arrives, and everyone gets rescued and/or arrested and the place gets closed down and our people all get to go home.

CROSSHAIR!!!!
Some Clones are being forced to retire. They are not happy about it.
Dang, they can't even keep their helmets off now or it's out of uniform 😕
Lieutenant Nolan. Already hate him. He doesn't like clones, had the nerve to say they are used equipment. EQUIPMENT! How many clones is he going to get killed...
The music!
Lol I can't tell if the clone tripped him or Nolan slipped. I think he slipped, either way it was funny.
Long haired clone! And he's a Commander but Commander who? There's also Hexx and Veetch...think they are going to survive this episode..probably not.
I like this new Commander already! He don't take no crap. " In my experience, respect is earned. Tell me lieutenant. How many missions have you commanded?"
Nolan: 😠🤐🙁
New Commander: that's what I thought b*tch.
Clone Commander has a name it's Mayday..I like it.
Crosshair was hesitant to give his name...kinda understandable
They've been on that planet for about a year. Protecting "precious cargo " with no backup or approved equipment request. Why do I feel like that cargo is going to be worthless and Mayday's whole squad was killed for nothing.
Ice vultures
Hexx is down
I love the way they showed that explosion affecting Crosshair' s eyesight because of his helmet!
Oh, Veetch was killed too😔
Commander Mayday: the raider didn't get far. His cohorts just left him here.
Crosshair: no point in carrying dead weight
Mayday: 😐remind me not to die on your watch...
Crosshair just stepped on a mine!!
Mayday is doing his best to help.
Crosshair mentions clone force 99, said they're gone..he hurting.
Yay! Crosshair didn’t get blown up!
Lol I'm loving Crosshair's little Mm-hmmms this episode 😆
The music!
The cargo was Stormtrooper gear...
Mayday: we're good soilders, we followed orders and for what?
That's right Crosshair, get to thinking. For what? All for nothing. " All you'll ever be to them is a number." It seems not even that now..just used equipment 😔
Crap, avalanche!
Crosshair lost his helmet and Mayday doesn't look so good😟
Clone cuddles..poor Crosshair I can feel how cold he is through the screen.
I'm glad he's not leaving Mayday behind.
If Crosshair is left on this planet I'm going to riot..
Lieutenant asshole isn't helping them at all but what did I expect.
Crosshair's voice when he was begging for help for Maday "but he'll die"🥺😭
I can not stand this lieutenant Guy!! Such an absolute asshole!!🤬Something kill him please!
Again with the vulture. What does it symbolize? Breaking free? Or death?
OH MY GOODNESS!!!HE DID IT!! CROSSHAIR HAS HAD ENOUGH! HE SHOT THE LIEUTENANT!! This is not good for him. He doesn't have the strength to run.
OH MY GOSH!!!! HE'S ON MT TANTISS!! THIS IS NOT GOOD AT ALL!! "cooperate and you just might survive". Ummm what is that? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??!! Is that mad scientist Hemlock going to expirament on him!!?? Oh my gosh I'm sooo scared for Crosshair😬😬😨😨😭😭😱😱
This episode was great and heartbreaking 💔 seeing how the clones don't matter to the empire. I mean, we know but this episode really drove it in. Even Crosshair reached his breaking point. I just wish he could have stolen a shuttle and gotten out of there. Now he's at the mercy of those mad scientists.
I feel like they might try to turn him into one of those Assassin clones we saw in episode 7 or maybe the first death trooper. Then he'll be responsible for hunting down the batch and kidnapping Omega. Oh man, that's to much heartbreak, I hope I'm wrong. They might just torture him and force him to tell them everything he knows about clone force 99.
Maybe when Omega gets taken by the empire they will be able to rescue him too. If it's not to late😔

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of '99:
Wear sunscreen.
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.
The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience...
I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked...
You're not as fat as you Imagine.
Don't worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.
The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind.
The kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you.
Sing.
Don't be reckless with other people's hearts, don't put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss.
Don't waste your time on jealousy;
Sometimes you're ahead,
Sometimes You're behind.
The race is long, and in the end, it's only with yourself.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; If you Succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch.
Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your Life. The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don't.
Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you'll miss them when they're gone.
Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't, maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't, maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary.
Whatever you do, don't Congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either.
Your choices are half chance, so are everybody else's.
Enjoy your body, Use it every way you can... Don't be afraid of it, or what other people Think of it, It's the greatest instrument you'll ever own...
Dance... even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don't follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
Brother and sister together we'll make it through
Someday your spirit will take you and guide you there
I know you've been hurting, but I've been waiting to be there For you. And I'll be there, just tell me now, whenever I can.
Everybody's free.
Get to know your parents, you never know when they'll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings; They are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on.
Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard;
Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will Philander, you too will get old, and when you do you'll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don't expect anyone else to support you.
Maybe you have a trust fund, Maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out.
Don't mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
But trust me on the sunscreen...
(Brother and sister together we'll make it through
Someday your spirit will take you and guide you there
I know you've been hurting, but I've been waiting to be there
For you. And I'll be there, just tell me now, whenever I can.
Everybody's free.)

How Does The Solar System Work?
Many facts are against the solar system classical description - let's refer to them-
(1)
The planet revolves around the Sun and produces motion energy- and – the planet motion energy can't be stored in the planet body (otherwise this planet temperature would be raised) - instead- the planet motion energy is stored in the space in waves form- means- the space is similar to the sea of water and the planet motion energy creates waves in the space (as the fish swimming creates waves in the sea)- shortly- the planet motion energy is stored in the space as waves (these are the gravitational waves, they are produced by the planets motions energies and not by any gravitational field- the scientists called them wrongly gravitational waves)- Shortly- Each Planet Motion Creates Waves In The Space
(2)
The planets motions waves are unified together in One Unified Wave- this unified wave revolves around the sun with the planets- but- this unified wave moves by a velocity = the planets velocities total
The 9 planets velocities total is 176 km/s – I add the moon velocity 29.8 km/s – by that the 10 planets velocities total is 205.8 km/s
(The Moon velocity = the Earth velocity where they revolve together around the Sun)
Shortly-
There's a wave in the space revolves around the sun by a velocity 205.8 km/s relative to the sun point (1 km/s), The Sun is a stationary point relative to the wave motion- Why?
The revolution motion creates two equal and opposite velocities on the two sides of the revolution trajectory by that the total be Zero – means- the revolution motion can create a stationary point in the revolution center-
Shortly- That tells- there's one wave revolves around the sun its velocity 205.8 km/s while the sun velocity is (1 km/s) – by that a relative motion is created between them
(3)
The planet motion creates a rate of time – for example- Mercury velocity = 1.6 the Earth velocity – for that- one hour of Mercury clock = 1.6 hours of the Earth clock- my paper explains and proves the rate of time using by the planets motions
Now – we have 2 motions- the wave motion its velocity 205.8 km/s and the sun point its velocity (1 km/s)- simply the produced rate of time is (1 =205.8) means
(one hour of the wave clock = 205.8 hours of the sun clock) BUT
The energy is reflected in the solar system and causes to reflect the players- means
(one hour of the sun clock = 205.8 hours of the wave clock)
Now- the wave (205.8 km/s) moves in a period 205.8 seconds a distance = 42253 km
BUT
300000 km = 7.1 x 42253 km
7.1 is Lorentz length contraction effect for a velocity = (99% of speed of light)
Means- the light moves for one second and passes 300000 km but Lorentz length contraction effect (7.1) caused to contract this distance and make it equal 42253 km – by that we see 42253 km in comparison with 300000 km because of Lorentz length contraction effect.
Shortly
The planets velocities are defined based on the speed of light (300000 km/s) because the planets are geometrical points found on this light beam and the planets move by this light beam motion and that's the necessity to use the different rates of time in their motions-

I've had an NDE before from drowning and let me tell you, I am 99% sure my brain was trying to comfort me in my dying moments. I lived, obviously. But I VERY MUCH disagree with you on the whole 'doctors being considered quacks' for it thing. During my recovery I was sent to a support group and one of the people there tried to convince me that the tings I saw were real and I had some sort of ethereal experience. Whereas my doctor told me about the chemical shifts in my brain and explained to the best of his ability why I might have seen what I saw. The doctor admitted that it is a newer field of study, and that not too much is known yet, but he assured me I wasn't alone and that if I felt concerned that he would be there to make sure I was okay. All that person at the support group did was re-traumatize me and give me a mental breakdown. I would rather trust my doctor, who instead of mocking me or calling it nonsense, spoke about it to other doctors who had seen similar things happen with their patients. Please, don't use NDE's an an excuse to discredit doctors or molecular biologists. Because that REALLY sounds like what you are doing what with bringing up the whole 'dark ages' thing.
You are free to have your opinion and view of your experience. After all, it is yours. Who am I to say that it was false?
The same way, I am free to have my views, not based on one person's experience only but thousands of experiences. Thousands of studies. I didn't come up with this just one day like BLING! This is it!
I don't like that the notion that science and "non-scientific" experiences should rule each others out but let's be real; if you tell a scientist, a doctor included, that I had an NDE (like for example, the famous Eben Alexander, who is a neurosurgeon himself, too), 95% of doctors will say "That's bollocks. Our current scientific understanding of this phenomena is X". It's dangerous to think that we already know it all. Science should always be open and hungry to know more, to study more, to go beyond what is already known. Of course, doctors doing their daily jobs are doing their daily jobs and that's good! They do what they can with the technology and understanding we've got at the moment, exactly the same way as doctors in 1823, 1532, 323BC and in 3023. If you somehow understood that as a message against doctors, well, too bad.
If we keep scientific and currently unknown scientific things which we can't understand at the moment separated, it takes longer to study different things and learn to understand them - and also, of course, to rule out things, too. All scientific fields are full of dogmas you shouldn't try to break of question. That's how it has always been and probably always will be. It doesn't mean that the scientific field COULD NOT do good while they are full of these dogmas. That's Christian fundamental belief system where only absolute good or absolute evil exists - and that doesn't work in real life.
IF you, or anyone else, wishes to learn more about NDEs, International Association of Near-Death Experiences IANDS has been studying this phenomena for decades, and it is the world's most reliable source, including scientific studies and help for scientists.
If the physical part of NDE and how brain makes it (most likely brain does have something to do with it, after all, we're psycho-physical beings), the best case is the neurosurgeon Eben Alexander's experience. He knows what he talks about, also as a doctor specialized in brains. He was in such bad condition that there shouldn't have been any experiences, no imagination, not comfort from the brain (based on our current knowledge, that is) and yet, he had such a long, vivid, strong and profound experience that he wrote a book of it.
Here's also Eben Alexander's own speech in an event about his experience, would it interest someone:
youtube
Eben Alexander: A Neurosurgeon's Journey through the Afterlife (not the only one, of course, but detailed and nice)
As a final notion: Please, always keep your experiences as yours but respect others', too. Not everything is always about US and what WE have gone through and what WE believe in. The same way as I can't (and won't) rule out your experience as yours and what it means to you, as I have no right to do it, you can't rule out other peoples' different NDEs just because you personally don't believe in them. (The same way as you can't, for example, dismiss someone having an abusive mother just because your mother adored and loved you). Give them the same respect as you want to be given to you.

📚 STUFF I READ 📚
🥰👂‍The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen (The Doomsday Books #1) (KJ Charles, author; Martyn Swain, narrator) - another knock out hit from KJC!!! I loved that most of the conflict was external - they had some shit to sort out but it was not drawn out excessively. Great sense of place. Really looking forward to the next book in the duology, but not because this one left me wanting. [audio narrator's voice was lovely-sounding but the pacing was TERRIBLE - very, very slow with drawn out pauses in the middle of sentences, just weird & annoying. I read it on 1.45x speed and it was just bearable but I mostly read it in text when I could]
🥰 All the Things Money Can't Buy series (Lys ap Adin (lysapadin)) - 62K series (45 main story, rest later vignettes) - Sheith modern sugar daddy AU, complete with a delicious 'snowed in together' section and a cute dog named Potroast 🐶
😊👂‍Death In Irish Accents (The Dublin Driver Mysteries #4) (Catie Murphy, author; Ruth Urquhart, narrator) - Megan just can't stay away from murders - literally opens with a body falling on Megan & her girlfriend while they are having coffee - absolutely love it!
😍Monoclonius (Zenaidamacrouras1) - 62K, stucky AU with single dad/environmentalist Steve & dino scientist Bucky - absolutely delightful, loved loved loved it to bits! Genuinely loved the OCs (including a very important stuffed trilobite; found family vibes off the charts (even outside of S&B)). Also there's a very decent amount of hot sex! THIS FIC HAS EVERYTHING.
😊👂‍Christmas at The Grange (Lady Hardcastle Mysteries #3.5) (T.E. Kinsey, author; Elizabeth Knowelden, narrator) - novella
💖💖 +70K of shorter fic so shout out to these I really loved 💖💖
Cross (lightgetsin) - Dresden Files: Dresden/Marcone, 33K - haven't read DF in years bc I'm well done with that canon but shout out to the inimitable @drunktuesdays, who threw this pairing onto my radar and 🤯🥵🤯🥵🤯

THE LESBIAN REALITY
Hey, it's me Suri (29F). Everyone is LYING ABOUT MEETING GIRLS ONLINE. There's just bots there. How do I know? I'm a computer scientist and I read the blogs, i read the articles, I do bot testing and I get the emails.
Every lesbian you know is probably single. I can't tell you how many millennials pay (also single and depressed) lesbian escorts for dates. How many you ask? 99% of lesbians in our generation. "How do you know that, Suri?" I did an anonymous survey on every social media app that exists.
How you ask?
I won a free survey ask in a raffle once. They surveyed the whole world. I could ask 3 questions. They were as follows: 1. Do you have a girlfriend? 2. Do you pay escorts to be your girlfriend? 3. If not, do you lie and say you met some pretend woman online?
100% of those surveyed said no.
75% of those surveyed said yes.
3. 85% of those surveyed said yes.
I didn't even know what to say. You guys, this is NOT WHY WE DON'T TALK TO EACH OTHER. It's because (and this is not true for everyone), A LOT of women are obsessed with becoming rich, and they say they'll start dating later. I read a BOOK ABOUT IT!!!!! I read 14 articles about it, 23 Youtube videos, and a Netflix documentary. That's where your girlfriend is. Escort dating someone else. Maaaybe if you're lucky, you are a highly important spiritual priestess held at a spiritual distance from your twin flame and it's a love test. But as a cartomancer I know for a fact that is only 3% of the world population of lesbians. I know what you're saying... becoming rich.... for... me???? no. that answer would be and remains to be no. I'm sorry. Stop paying them and this will end for, well not me, but you all. I'm so sorry to tell you this. Luckily, for me I am a priestess of something and I simply have to wait. which FUCKING SUCKS!!!
Now if you excuse me, I will be screaming at the top of my lungs for the rest of eternity. Goodbye.

I dont know if anyone wants to hear about my intern at a highschool but I am going to tell you about it anyway.
So I am studying to become an art teacher and like I am focusing my intern on a first year class right now. Before I start venting about this class I do want to say it is a nice class, they are in general sweet kids but omg last lesson I got way to close to punching a kid.
So the lesson begins and the class in split in two right now, one doing a photoshop assignment and one doing a drawing one. The photoshop group goes to the computer room and like within less then a minute a girl comes back going "I can't find photoshop on the computer and the guys don't want to help me." And the teacher I am interning at was still explaining something to the other group so I go and help her and like after fixing it just ask the guys next to her why they wouldnt help her, dude just goes "I am to sigma to help her." And omg that is where it started for me because no, please no, why do these 14 years old kids have to be talking about the stupid wolf-pack theory that was disproven ages ago. But like I leave this be for now, do ask wether he was a Andrew Tate fan (because lets be honest from who else would they have learned this shit) and sadly yes, luckly not anymore. Did go "you know for what he was/is in prison right?" But like i left it be in this group.
Went back to the drawing group, because I am good in drawing and suck at photoshop, and I am just walking around. Checking if everyone is doing well and suddenly I hear someone say they have the N-word pass. I would like to say this class is 99% white and I am also white, in the group of boys this conversation was being held there was one boy who isnt. And I am annoyingly woke and confrontatiable, so of course for some reason I have to go and mingle with this shit. And like I do stop this convo just going like "You are white, an N-word pass is not a thing and will not make you be able to say it."
So I probably didnt change their minds but at least I ended that conversation with some grace. And then I hear that same group also talk about the god damn SIGMA MALE BULLSHIT! And like I can handle 14 year old boys talk about stupid wolf-pack theory bullshit once a day and like I said I will start a conversation when I feel like needed. So I just ask how these kids even know about the whole sigma male mindset and stuff, ANDREW TATE WHO THE FUCK ELSE! And like I just went "You know the whole alpha male stuff is based on a science expirement that was disproven by multiple other scientist (also I know they are probably called different but not sure) and like that Andrew Tate legit is being questioned for human trafficing."
And then these kids found out that this was the shit that would make me mad. And then other kids of this class where catching on I was getting mad. So this kid that usually is nice to me is just on his phone constantly so I ask if he is not going to use it to look for pictures to use he could give the phone to me. Instead of doing that he puts on De Kabout Dans (a fucking dutch children song and also absolute club classic cause every dutch/belgium person under 30 knows it from their childhood) on and then just puts the phone in his pocket. AND LIKE WHAT THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?! I CANT TOUCH THE KID! And like calling their actual teacher just felt like showing them I couldnt handle them.
And like I got him to turn it off but when that was finished some other kid was drawing on her desk. And like I dont care that much, I do it a lot, but the school doesnt allow it so she had to clean it. Asked her to do it, she starts doing it with a piece of paper and just smudges it all over the desk instead. And like their is a sink on the classroom so I just ask her to get a sponge with some water on it and just clean it, of course 'she doesnt know where they are' while I legit pointed at them and she has been in this classroom longer then I have been. So well 'you could clean it for me right' and omg I am so annoyed by these kids because I got her to clean it but only after asking her to do it like 5 times.
So ye my "omg I am going to punch a kid"-stories of my interning at a highschool :)
