Hey, can you write a story about Evan Buckley and Reader announcing that she’s pregnant to the 118 at like a family gathering :)
🍄 Pairing: Evan Buckley x Reader
🍄 Genre: Fluff
🍄 Summary: At a 118 family gathering, Buck's overprotective nature reveals a little more than the two of you had planned.
🍄 Word Count: 1618
🍄 Abbreviations: N/A
🍄 Warnings: Pregnancy, implied pregnancy complications
🍄 Note: I really liked this request Anon! I hope this is what you were looking for. I thought about this scenario and I instantly imagined Buck accidentally announcing the pregnancy rather than planned. If you would rather a planned version, just pop in another request. A similar request came from @quinnstan247. Enjoy :)
You could feel the eyes following you closely as you slipped into the kitchen to refill your glass of orange cordial. Your overprotective, puppy-dog boyfriend remained outside in the garden of the Nash household along with the rest of the team as they stood around Bobby and the BBQ grill. You knew that Buck was searching for any reason he could to follow you inside, but you met his gaze through the windows and offered him a reassuring smile that seemed to subdue him for the minute.
Since the second you found out, Buck had been glued to your side. It had been three weeks since you took that test, since your doctor had confirmed it and in that time you had, had to convince him every single day that he could leave you and go to work. Every day he fought you, wanting the both of you to stay home so you could rest and he could wait on your every want and need, but you couldn’t do that. You were only thirteen weeks along and there was hardly any reason to be confined to the bed just yet. You knew that he was only concerned about the safety of you and the peach you currently carried in your womb. It was endearing and one of the sweetest things you’d ever seen, you hadn’t thought that Buck could get any sweeter, but here you were one act away from having a mouth full of cavities.
What hadn’t helped was that Buck had been responding to a number of pregnancy calls in the past few weeks a few resulting in sadder endings than anyone wanted. They had definitely struck a chord with Buck and had only made him hover all the more.
Adding the water to your cordial, you took a sip of the orange, a light buzz filling your taste-buds. You had become obsessed with anything orange flavoured since your pregnancy diagnosis. Whether it was orange skittles (which Buck had kindly sat and sorted out for you), or orange flavoured chocolate, or even the orange flavoured cupcakes you had found at the grocery store and ate within an hour of buying, anything orange and you were all for it.
Walking back into the garden, your entire body seemed to clench a little as you stepped back into the gaze of the sun. As much as you were enjoying this down time with the 118, it was so hot. The heatwave had only hit LA in the past few days but already it was in full swing and you were feeling every beam of it.
“Y/n,” you turned over to where Athena was sat with Hen and her daughter May. The three of them were stood around the mini bar that Athena had installed, in direct sunlight. Already hot, you fought down the urge to grimace as you moved to stand by them, the sun glaring on your skin. “We were just telling May about Buck and that kiddie ride at the mall. She doesn’t believe us.” Hen informed and a grin split across your lips, taking your mind off of the sweltering heat.
“Oh my, God. I have a photo, hang on,” You pulled your phone out of your shoulder bag and set your drink on the bar, thumb flicking through the many photos in your gallery in search of the one from the Saturday before. “He thought it was funny and I tried to tell him he wouldn’t fit but he insisted,” You giggled and turned your phone for May to see. “I honestly thought I’d have to call nine-one-one.”
Displayed across your screen was the photo that still had you giggling a week later. There sat Buck, who had squeezed his way into the small metal bus which was obviously aimed for children 7 and under. But Buck had twisted his body at all kinds of angles and had somehow managed to worm his way into the ride. His head was poked out of the door hole, his legs curled up against his chest, unable to stretch out in the tiny space that his body was occupying.
What Athena and the others didn’t know was that Buck wouldn’t have gotten into the ride if it wasn’t for you. That morning your hormones had been playing you like a fiddle and every little thing had upset you, the bin bag had broken when you were trying to change it out for a new one, somehow a red sock had slipped in with your whites and now everything you owned was slightly toned pink and they had shown that advert with the puppy sat in a box, in the rain, on the side of the street with people walking past ignoring it. It seemed, that morning, that everything was stacked against you. Buck had offered to come with you to the mall so you could pick up your clothing order from a store, you had ordered certain items that they didn’t have in stock and they had delivered into the store the day before. You were buzzing to see the new pair of pumps you had ordered. You knew that in a few months if not weeks, the shoes would probably be pressing against the sides of your feet and ankles because of the pregnancy swelling, but that hadn’t stopped you from ordering them in your size. However, like everything else that morning, even that didn’t go as planned. The shoes had been delivered in the wrong colour and in a size smaller than you wanted, making them impossible to wear. Buck had seen how disheartened you had been when you left the store, trying not to cry in frustration. He had wanted to do something to cheer you up and in a joking manner he had made a bet with you that he could fit inside the kiddie bus ride.
It had definitely succeeded in cheering you up, if not from how silly he looked, his large muscular frame curled up inside the ride, from when he got stuck and couldn’t get himself out straight away. You had done what you could to help him out, but you were giggling so hard your entire body went weak. When he had finally gotten out, the two of you had continued to giggle all the way home and your mood had been lifted for the rest of the day.
“Oh, my God,” May giggled. “That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Please send me that!” she begged.
“Of course,” you agreed with a laugh of your own. “I could never gate keep on a photo like this.”
“What made him get in there?”
“It’s Buck, does he need a reason?” Hen scoffed. As the ladies continued to giggle, the heat seemed to make it’s presence known as it glared down onto you. The side of your temples was beginning to throb and your skin was starting to get slick and sticky, sweat oozing from your pores. You raised a hand to swipe at your brow, glancing around the garden for the closest seat, your legs aching.
As you moved towards one of the sun loungers, your boyfriend’s eyes caught onto your movements, already on high alert.
“Y/n? What’s wrong?” he asked, abandoning his drink at the grill and rushing towards you, one arm slipping around your waist to help guide you to the seat.
“Buck, I’m-”
“Dammit, it’s too hot out here for you. We should’ve cancelled,” he began muttering to himself. “Are you dizzy? Do you need a drink of water? What about something to eat? Is your blood sugar low? What if you’re dehydrated?” The only thing making you dizzy was the hurricane of questions Buck was sending your way, not even leaving a chance for you to answer them. One of his hands instinctively came to rest on the front of your stomach.
“Babe? Baby?” You tried to pull Buck out of his panicked rant, his eyes not once meeting yours as he kept scanning you for any visible injuries. Not that there were any, but the paranoia was getting the best of him and the heat probably wasn’t helping.
“We should get you in the shade,” he decided. “Shit, you should’ve stayed inside. You’re carrying precious cargo now, baby. You and peach can’t take this heat. We shouldn’t have come. This is all my fault-”
“Buck!” You pressed your hands to the sides of his face, directing his eyes to yours so you could try and ground him. “Buck, baby, I’m fine. We’re fine. I’m just a little hot and tired that’s all. It’s normal.” He still seemed a little uncertain, and his eyes held a lifetime of worry for you and his unborn child. “We’re okay. I promise.” You offered him a reassuring smile, your thumb coming to brush against his bottom lip rhythmically, giving him something to focus on. His eyelids pressed shut as he breathed slowly for a second.
“Are you sure? ‘Cause we can go home-”
“We’re fine. I just need to sit for a minute that’s all.” You peeked over his shoulder. “While I’m sitting, we should probably talk to the people behind you, they seem a little shocked. You kind of let the cat out of the bag.” Buck twisted his head to look around at the team behind him, everyone stood, jaws dropped and eyes wide. Eddie was the most comical of the bunch, his glass halfway raised to his mouth ready to take a sip but frozen in time with the news that Buck had unintentionally shared.
“H-Hey, guys,” He chuckled awkwardly with a sheepish grin. “I guess we have some news to share.”

Sheltered by Love - Evan Buckley x Male Reader
Summary: You still have nightmares months after Buck died and came back from the lighting strike
Words: 1.4k
Warnings: none really
Y/N's POV
As the storm rumbled outside, the firehouse seemed to vibrate with each distant boom of thunder. In the dimly lit bunkroom, the rhythmic breathing of sleeping firefighters fills the air, the B shift getting as much rest as they can before they’re needed. I’m only among them as Bobby, Captain of the 118, sent me to try and get some sleep before the next call so I had settled into a restless nap, exhaustion finally catching up with me after a long shift.
But as the storm intensified, my dreams twist into something far more sinister. I found yourself standing in the midst of chaos, surrounded by flashing lights and deafening sirens. And there, at the centre of it all, was Buck—his vibrant smile replaced by a look of shock as a bolt of lightning strikes him down again.
The jolt of waking up is abrupt as the lighting strikes Buck, my heart hammering in my chest, adrenaline coursing through my veins as the memory of the vision lingers, haunting me. With trembling hands, I push myself upright in the cot, sweat-soaked sheets clinging to my skin. Ignoring the fatigue that weighs heavy on my limbs, I’m stumbling out the bunkroom, feet fumbling against the cool floor in my boots. The storm outside mirrors the turmoil within me, each clap of thunder echoing the panic rising in my chest.
The firehouse feels like a labyrinth as I stumble through its corridors, my heart pounding in my chest with each step. The storm outside seems to intensify, matching the turmoil within me, as if nature itself is reflecting my inner chaos. Hen finds me first, her presence a grounding force in the midst of my panic.
She presses a gentle hand to my forehead, concern etched in her features as she tries to coax me back to bed. But I can't relent, not when the memory of Buck's vulnerable form still lingers in my mind, haunting me with its stark reality. I struggle against her, my voice trembling as I insist that I need to find Buck.
Embarrassing tears sting my eyes as I plead with her, my desperation laid bare for all to see. Hen's expression softens, understanding dawning in her eyes as she realises the depth of my fear. With a comforting touch, she leads me up the stairs to the kitchen area where Buck and Eddie are seated in the two armchairs, deep in conversation.
Relief floods through me at the sight of Buck, his presence a balm to my frayed nerves. But as I approach, my steps falter, uncertainty gnawing at my resolve. Will he understand the depth of my fear, the way his near miss has shaken me to the core?
Hen's reassuring hand on my shoulder is all the encouragement I need. With a shaky breath, I step forward, my eyes meeting Buck's with a mixture of relief and vulnerability.
“B-Buck," I manage, my voice barely above a whisper. He looks up from his conversation with Eddie, concern furrowing his brow as he takes in my disheveled appearance.
"Hey, what's going on?" he asks, his voice gentle but filled with genuine concern.
As I stand before Buck, my heart racing with a mixture of fear and longing, he reaches out with a gentle yet firm hand, pulling me down onto his lap. The suddenness of the movement catches me off guard, but before I can protest or even react, I find myself cradled against his chest, his warmth enveloping me like a protective cocoon.
His concerned gaze meets mine, brows furrowed in genuine worry as he takes in my disheveled appearance. "Hey, what's going on?" His voice is soft, filled with a tenderness that sends a shiver down my spine as he asks again.
I struggle to find my voice, to articulate the jumble of emotions swirling within me. But as I gaze into his eyes, the words seem to evaporate, leaving only a raw vulnerability in their wake. Without waiting for a response, Buck wraps his arms around me, pulling me closer as if sensing the depths of my turmoil. I sink against him, my body moulded to his like pieces of a puzzle fitting seamlessly together.
The warmth of his embrace seeps into my bones, banishing the chill of uncertainty that had gripped me moments before. My palm instinctively presses against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath my fingertips. In that intimate moment, there's no room for pretence or hesitation. It's just Buck and me, united in our shared vulnerability, our unspoken desires simmering beneath the surface.
And as he rubs soothing circles on my back, I can't help but wonder if he feels the same magnetic pull that I do, the unspoken connection that binds us together in moments of crisis.
"The lightning," I choke out, the words tumbling from my lips in a rush, my voice barely above a whisper. Buck's surprised sound sends a jolt of embarrassment through me, amplified by Eddie's studious gaze. I bury my face in the crook of Buck's neck, wishing I could disappear into the safety of his embrace. But instead of recoiling, Buck covers the hand pressed against his chest with his own, pressing it firmer against his heartbeat. The gesture is both comforting and intimate, sending a shiver down my spine as I feel the warmth of his touch seep into my skin.
Eddie clears his throat, breaking the tense silence that hangs between us. "I, uh, think I left something in the truck," he says hastily, his eyes flickering between Buck and me. "Hen, want to give me a hand?”
Hen nods, shooting me a sympathetic glance before following Eddie out of the room. Alone at last, Buck turns his attention back to me, his expression soft with concern and something more.
With gentle hands, he manoeuvres me until I'm straddling his waist, his warmth seeping into every fibre of my being. His touch is electric, sending sparks dancing across my skin as his thumb soothes over my cheek.
Every instinct in me screams to hide, to retreat into the safety of my own thoughts and emotions. But as I feel Buck's steady gaze on me, a flicker of determination ignites within me. I force myself to meet his eyes, willing him to see the depth of my feelings, the longing that simmers beneath the surface.
And as if sensing my silent plea, Buck moves his fingers to hook under my chin, drawing me closer until our lips are just inches apart. The anticipation crackles in the air between us, palpable and electric, as he leans in to capture my lips in a soft, tentative kiss.
In that moment, everything falls into place. The warmth of his embrace, the tender caress of his lips against mine—it all feels so right, so achingly familiar. And as we melt into each other, the outside world fades into insignificance, leaving only the two of us, bound together by an unspoken promise of love and understanding.
As we pull away from the kiss, our hearts beating as one, Buck's arms wrap around me in a tight, protective embrace. The warmth of his body against mine sends a shiver of contentment down my spine, and I find myself melting into his embrace, lost in the comfort of his touch.
"I'm here," he murmurs against my ear, his breath warm and soothing against my skin. "I'll always be here for you.” His words are like a lifeline in the storm, grounding me in the present moment and banishing the ghosts of doubt that still linger in the corners of my mind. With him, I feel safe, cherished, and wholly loved.
As the thunder continues to rumble outside, a symphony of nature's fury, Buck's presence is the calm at the centre of the storm. He holds me close, rocking me gently in his arms, the rhythm of his movements a lullaby that soothes me back into the gentle embrace of sleep. With each sway, each comforting murmur, I feel myself drifting further and further into a blissful oblivion, the worries of the world fading away until there is nothing left but the two of us, bound together by an unspoken promise of love and understanding.
And as I finally succumb to the embrace of sleep, cradled in Buck's arms, I know that no matter what challenges may lie ahead, we'll face them together, hand in hand, hearts entwined in a love that knows no bounds.

“Buck I’m fine I swear,” you huffed, slightly in pain, as you walked up the stairs to your flat while Buck had his arm under yours to keep you up.
On a recent call, you hurt your leg heavily and have to take off a few weeks to get better again. It was not a very chaotic call, it was a car crash between two people and you weren’t quick enough to get away from the scene as another car drove into the scene and hit you slightly. Everything happened quickly and you hurt your leg. Buck has made it his mission to take care of you now and help you to feel as good as possible. He even took off the next few shifts to spend his time with you, so you wouldn’t have to be alone.
“I’ll help you. I promised you,” he reminded you of the promise he made to you as you waited in the hospital for your test results.
As he took your key and opened the door of your flat, you went in with your crutches and sighed as soon as you were able to sit down on your couch. After Buck closed the door and put down your bag, he rushed towards you and helped you to put up your leg on your couch. He reached out his hand to you and pointed to a cushion that was next to you. Without needing words, you gave it to him and he gently put it under your leg. Making sure you feel more comfortable.
You eventually sighed and closed your eyes for a moment. “Thank you, Buck,” you smiled in a relaxed way.
“No need to thank me,” he quietly said. It was his way to show people that he cared about him. If he was able to help anyone he cared about, he’d do it. Especially with you, the one person who made his heart beat faster whenever you talked, had the slightest body contact, smiled at him, looked at him or even more. Anything that had anything to do with you, would make his heartbeat faster. There was no way he could deny it at all and despite everyone telling him to shoot his shot with you, he didn’t do it. He respected the friendship you formed too much and didn’t want to risk it. He didn’t want to make anything uncomfortable between you or even risk losing you as a friend.
It's been two weeks later. You already felt better whether it was because of being able to rest or because Buck basically took care of you in as many aspects as he was able to do it. No matter how many times you told him, that he wouldn’t have to do it, he did it and you were still thankful for it. You adored him, especially if he wouldn’t back away from any promises he made. It was hard to be close to him every day since your injury, as he basically wouldn’t leave your side as soon as he got back from his shift. No matter how tired he was, he’d make sure you felt better first, even if you were capable of doing it alone. Sometimes he took his role of taking care too much and you needed to remind him but it got better afterwards. You would be lying if you said that you didn’t enjoy spending your time with him, especially because you liked him. You had liked him for some time now but never dared to make a move. You were too afraid to risk your friendship or even lose him.
He was currently sitting next to you and took the plate of you to put it down on the couch table. Buck made some dinner for the two of you and it kind of felt like you were a couple but you quickly tossed the thought of it away. Even if it gave you a little jump in your stomach. He just finished his story of the last shift and leaned back, tossing one of his arms around you. It was something you’ve been doing your whole friendship. After a few moments of comfortable silence between you, you decided to break it.
“How can I ever repay you for all your work?” You quietly asked him as you looked up to him from your current position. You played with his hand that was wrapped around you.
Buck was quiet for a moment and thought about an idea. One that stuck in his mind for a long while now. You watched him and noticed a subtle change in his face. He seemed nervous.
He slightly moved his head, so he could look at you. “Once you get better, I would like to take you on a date,” he whispered. Hoping you would agree and not tell him to leave. “If- If you’re okay with it. I mean if not, just forget what I said I-“
You put your index finger on his lips to shush him and smiled at him, your heart beating faster and heat spreading to your face. “I’d love to go on a date with you, Buck,” you smiled at him happily.
His body immediately relaxed and he gave you one of his biggest smiles. “Really?”
“Yes. Really,” you chuckled and caressed his cheek.
It would be the start of a wonderful relationship that would continue to blossom as long as you were together. Happier than ever.

Cressway
AN: Hey guys this is my first reader insert for Eddie Diaz. Please enjoy!
Any mistakes are my own
Italics = texts and flashback
The day Eddie Diaz walked into 118 house Y/N knew there was something about him. Aside from his good looks, he had this presence about him that made her feel like she could immediately trust him. It had taken her a while to fully trust her other team mates but some how with him its different. The two of you had become fast friends and spent a lot of your free time together with Christopher and sometimes Buck.
One day things just suddenly changed. There had been a school shooting and somehow the LAPD had not been aware that there were two offenders. Once Athena and her team had the first offender in custody the 118 had been given the all clear to enter the building and help the victims. Y/N and Hen made their way in first. School shootings had always been hard for Y/N, no one but Bobby knew the reason for it but the team had always noticed. Y/N lead the way towards one of the classrooms where she heard crying. “Fire Department, we’re here to help,” she called out. She saw a young man look out the glass before slowly opening the door. “Are you hurt?”
“No but my friend is,” the young man pointed towards another boy who was surrounded by several other students. Y/N made her way over to him. He had taken a bullet to his stomach and had lost a lot of blood. She noticed that the other kids were scared which wasn’t unusual given the trauma they had just been through but none of them tried to leave. Y/N looked towards Hen who she saw had also noticed.
“Its okay, we’ve got him. If you’re not hurt you can head outside.”
Several of the kids shook their heads, Y/N knew something was wrong. “Hen, we gonna need a back board. He cant walk out here.” Hen reached for her radio but Y/N stopped her. “Can you get it?” The look Y/N gave her made Hen worry but she got up and nodded. As she headed to the door Y/N said, “Tell Cap, it’s Cressway.” Hen looked at her questioningly but Y/N shook her head, “Go, I really need the back board.”
Once Hen was gone Y/N turned her attention to the boy on the ground. It didn’t look good and she really didn’t think he was going to make it, but she had to try. “Ok I’m gonna need some help.” She turned to a young blond girl. “What’s your name?”
“Hayley,” she replied softly.
“Okay Hayley I need you to keep pressure on...”
“Jeremy.”
Y/N smiled lightly, “Jeremy’s wound. Press down really hard ok. Can you do that?” Hayley nodded. “Good.” Y/n leaned down to take a better look and soften her voice, “Who?”
Hayley looked at her before moving her eyes over to the young man who had opened the door. He was pacing now and seemed very agitated. “Okay, we’re gonna get out of here.”
Something didn’t feel right and Hen rushed to get the back board. She needed to speak to speak to Bobby but something told her not to do it over the air. She spotted Athena and rushed over. “Have you seen Bobby?”
“He went in after you guys, said something about the library. What’s up?”
“Somethings wrong.”
“Wrong how?”
“Hen,” they turned around as her captain and Eddie came out helping a young wounded girl who was bleeding from her leg. She rushed over.
“Cap, somethings wrong.”
“What is it?”
“Y/N said to mention Cressway.”
“Cressway? What does that mean?” Eddie asked.
Hen was about to say something when she noticed the look on her Captains face, “Where is she?” he asked.
“Inside. Cap what is it?”
“There’s a second shooter.”
“Are you sure?” Athena asked her husband.
“Yes.”
Athena grabbed her radio and called it in just as a gun shot went off.
Her ears were ringing, the gun had gone off right next to her ear but she had managed to take down the shooter. She looked up at the scared kids in front of her and told them to leave, “Its safe now.”
They didn’t need to be told twice and raced for the door. Y/n sat down and leaned against the wall, “I really hate school shootings.” She reached for her radio, “All clear, suspect is down.”
Two seconds later Eddie was in front of her, running his hands over her body checking for any injuries. “Hey Diaz, if you wanted to cop a feel all you had to do was ask,” she joked.
“Not funny Hartley.” He got up and reached out his hand before pulling her up alongside him.
“Are you mad at me Eddie?” she asked at the tone of his voice.
“What were you thinking? You could have been killed.”
She put her hands on her hips and glared at him, “I was doing my job. PD gave us the clear. Last I checked I’m a firefighter.”
“You are not a cop. You should have like them handle the guy. When you thought something was up you call in.”
She shook her head, “I’m not arguing with you. I did what I had to diffuse the situation and help those kids.”
“That wasn’t your call.”
“Excuse me? I’m head paramedic.”
That’s enough!” Bobby step in. “Y/n I want you to go get checked out. Diaz go help Buck and the others to search.”
“But Cap,” she began.
“Don’t wanna hear it. That’s an order.”
With one final glare at Eddie, she shook her head and went to follow her boss’ instructions.
Pulling back into headquarters Y/n was still fuming at the way her friend and co worker had spoken to her, like she was some sort of child. As soon as the engine came to a stop she hop out and headed straight for the showers. Sitting down on the bench she took a deep breath and allowed herself a chance to process everything.
“Y/n?”
She looked up, “Hi Cap.”
“Wanna talk about it?”
She shook her head, “ Not really.”
He nodded in understanding but still made his way over and sat down next to her. “I know that this was hard for you.”
“Its the job. I’ve handled school shootings before.”
“Not like this one, not since Cressway.”
“I really don’t wanna talk about it.”
“I know. But regardless I want you to take the day.”
“Are you benching me?”
“No, I’m telling you to take the day and do something relaxing. Something that will take your mind off what I know your thinking off. Maybe Luke is around.”
She smiled at the thought of her boyfriend. She nodded, maybe Cap was right. It had been a long day. “Ok.”
He got up and placed a hand on her shoulder. “You did good.”
“ Thanks Cap.”
“Eddie?”
The young man looked up from his plate and gave his boss a questioning look. “Yeah?”
Bobby sat down, “What was that about back at the school?”
Eddie knew what he was talking about. To be honest he didn’t even know what had come over him. When he had heard that gun shot go off, it had scared the hell out of him. He couldn’t lose Y/N. She was his best friend. “I don’t know Bobby. When I heard that gun shot, I panicked. I don’t even want to think about losing her.”
“DO you have feelings for her?”
Eddie shook his head frantically, “No way....I mean yeah she’s my best friend.”
“Bobby nodded, “We all care about her Eddie, but we trust each other here. We just each other to do our jobs and that’s what she did.”
“How did you know Cap? About the second shooter?”
“Not my story to tell.” Bobby got up. “Just trust her.”
“Luke, you home?” Yn called out into his apartment as she walked in.
“Hey babe. You’re home early.” the Australian man who had stolen her heart 5 years ago smiled as he walked into the kitchen. He was a lawyer who worked from home and the two had met at the courthouse one afternoon during a fire.
“Hey,” she sighed as he pulled her into his arms.
“Is everything ok?”
“No,” she mumbles into his shirt.
“What happened?”
“School shooting.”
He pulled her tighter, rubbing her back. “Wanna talk about it?”
She shook her head. “Are you busy or can you distract me?”
“Mmm, that depends on what kind of distraction you want,” he smirked.
“Mind out the gutter. I thought maybe a hike.”
“You know I would do anything for you but I have a zoom meeting in like an HR.”
“Its ok.” She reached up and kissed him. “Thought I’d try my luck.”
“How about dinner? That little French restaurant you love so much.”
“Sounds perfect. I’m gonna go on that hike so long. I’ll see you later.”
“Pick you up at 8. Love you.”
“I love you too.”
That night as he lay in bed Eddie had the worst nightmare and now he just tossed and turned, unable to get the image of Yn out of his head. He knew it had been just a dream and that she was perfectly safe but the thought of her been hurt, haunted him.
“Hey, you awake?” he messaged her.
“Yep. What’s up?”
“Can’t sleep. U?”
“Me neither.”
“You wanna get some coffee? Christopher is at a friends.”
“Sure, or you could come here?”
“I’ll be there now.”
Sitting on her balcony they had foregone the coffee and we’re nursing a few beers. He could tell she wasn’t herself. “What’s wrong?”
“Today was just hard. And you having a go at me didn’t help.”
“I’m sorry. When I heard the gunshot, I got scared.”
“Ok. I guess it hasn’t missed your attention that school shootings are hard for me.”
“I’ve noticed.”
She sighed. “Back in high school it was just a normal day. All of a sudden during lunch Randy Hurst a senior opened fire. A few of us managed to get out of the lunch hall and hid in the library.”
“Why didn’t you ever say anything?”
“I lost my brother that day. Along with 15 others.”
He took her hand in his, “I’m sorry.”
She smiled at him. “The worst part was that there were two shooters. No one knew about the other boy until he pulled out a gun. He was in the library with us. Police responded quickly and some students were able tackle Randy but Aiden was still there. He had been friends with Luke, my brother. He had run with us and just sat there head in his hands. At the time it didn’t seem weird. We were all scared. But when we heard the sirens Aiden started talking to himself, like he was going mad.”
“Maybe he was having second thoughts?” Eddie asked as he brushed his thumb along her hand.
“That’s what he said. He was prepared and ready but something stopped him and when Randy started shooting, Aiden panicked. He ran with us. I still don’t know what happened, why he hesitated then decided
shoot in the library. I never asked him, I was too scared.”
“How did it end?”
“We could hear officers coming towards us. Shouting to let us know so we wouldn’t be afraid so some of us got up and tried to get to the door. But Aiden pulled a gun and shot Alicia Mount. He rushed the door and made us get back.
“Second shooter! I repeat we have a second shooter!”
We could hear officers shooting right outside the door bit no one came in. Alicia just lay on the floor, blood pooling from her back.
“Aiden, what the hell are you doing?” my brother Luke asked, voice shaking.
I have never seen him scared before except when our grandpa was sick and dying.
“Get back!!!” the shooter screamed waving the gun in front of Luke.
I walk forward slowly and take my brother’s hand. “Luke…”
“Stay back Ynn.” Luke looked at me and I looked back pleading with my eyes for him to not do any thing stupid. He got the message and moved away slowly from Aiden, one hand raised in surrender, the other clutching mine tightly. A mere few minutes later a young boy, most likely a junior tries to sneak out but Aiden spots him and raises his gun. Luke took the opportunity to tackle the boy. A single shot rings out. Luke grimaces and I knew he had been hit but he won’t let go of the boy. “Run!”
Most of the group didn’t need to be told twice but I didn’t want to leave my brother.
“Dammit Yn go!!!!”
Tears in my eyes I run for the door and as I round the corner I run into a police officer. He is asking me something but I can’t hear him. We have to help Luke. “My brother he’s….” another shot and it’s only because the officer had grabbed onto me tight that kept me from racing to him.
Several other officers slowly make their way towards the library. A few minutes later one comes back and asks me to come with him. I hesitate but follow him. Luke and Aiden are both laying on the floor. “Who is it?”
I point at Aiden who I can see is still alive. Luke is still. The police roughly pull Aiden up and hand cuff him, mindful of his bleeding arm. I rush to my brother.
“Luke? Luke?” he doesn’t open his eyes. His stomach is covered in blood. “Wake up!”
I feel a gentle hand on my shoulder. It’s a paramedic.
“Please help him!”
He nodded as another man joined him and the police man from earlier pulls me up and leads me outside.
“Luke died on the way to the hospital.”
Eddie pulled her close and wrapped his arms around her. “He sounds like a hero.”
She sniffled before pulling back. “He was. So many more could have died that day.”
They sat there for a while before he remembered something. “What’s Cressway?”
“His last name. Aiden Cressway.”
“Where is he now?”
“Locked away for the rest of his life. After the trial my parents moved us to LA. My grandparents on my mom’s side lived here and they felt we needed a new start. When I became a paramedic and joined the department I didn’t tell anyone but when I joined the 118 we had to respond to a shooting at an elementary school. It was my first one since that day and Cap called me out. That’s when I told him everything. He promised it would stay between us and I’ve managed to handle it.”
“That’s why he looked at you before we got to the school?”
She nodded. “He tries to take care of me.”
“He cares about you. We all do.”
The way he said that made her feel different and the way he was looking at her caused her to blush. She took a breath. “Today was the first time I’ve experienced a unknown second shooter.”
“You did a good job today. I over heard some of the kids talking afterwards. You saved their lives.”
“I just thought about what Luke had done.”
“Promise me though you won’t do that again?”
She looked up at him in annoyance. “Can we not do this again Eddie? I did my job.”
“I know.” He threaded his fingers with hers. “But I can’t lose you.”
She soften her look and brushed her free hand against his cheek. “I’m not going anywhere Eddie. But I can’t not do my job.”
“I suppose,” he got up and walked inside and she could see there was something else.
“Is there something you’re not saying?” she got up and followed him.
“Like what?”
“I don’t know Eddie, you tell me.”
“It’s nothing.”
“No please, share what’s on your mind!”
“I can’t lose you!” he snapped.
“We established that already!” she fired back taking a step closer. “Its our job. We’ve been doing it for years. Why all of a sudden are you acting like this?”
“I’m gonna go.”
“Edmund Diaz! I promise if you walk out that door……”
“What? Huh?” he closing the gap between them. “What are you gonna do Yn?”
He was so close that she could feel his breath against her skin. His eyes piercing into hers. She took a shaky breath and took a step back. “What did I do?”
“You could have been hurt or worse.”
She shook her head and tried to walk away, annoyed with the conversation now. He grabbed her hand and pulled her flush against him, lips crashing against hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. Wrapping his hands around her waist he tried to pull her closer, never removing his lips from hers. As his fingers brushed against her exposed skin between her pants and top she gasped. Using it to his advantage he slip his tongue into her mouth. Neither wanted to stop but air was becoming a necessity and when they final broke apart they both had to catch their breath. “I’m in love with you.” He whispered against her lips.
She stepped back, “What?”
He let her step back but refused to let go of her hands. “I’ve been for a while. I only knew for certain when I hard that shot. So many things raced through my mind as I was racing inside. How I might not get to tell you how I feel. How we could be a family, you, me and Christopher. How there is so much I want to do with you and share with you.”
“Eddie?”
“You make my life so much better since you came into it. I always felt like there was this hole, like something was missing and nothing could fix it. Then I met you and you became my best friend. It felt like I had finally found my missing piece.”
“I care about you too, I’ll be honest and say that I do have feelings for you too but I have a boyfriend.”
He nodded sadly, “I know. I just…..I needed you to know.”
“I’m sorry Eddie.”
Over the next few weeks things between Yn and Eddie felt awkward and the team noticed. Buck and Chin had tried talking to Eddie and Hen had tried with Yn but neither of the two wanted to talk about it. Exactly 2 months after that kiss Christopher walked into the kitchen and confronted his father.
“Why doesn’t Yn come over anymore? Did you have a fight?”
“Its complicated buddy.”
“Well just tell her you love her and fix it.” Eddie was surprised that his son knew about his feelings and it showed. “I see the way you look at her. How happy you are when she’s around.”
Eddie sighed. “She knows but it’s too late. She has a boyfriend.”
“Its only too late if you give up. And it looks like you have.” Christopher walked out the room.
An hour later Eddie went to his son’s room to try and explain but when he open the door Christopher wasn’t there. “Chris?” he went through the entire apartment calling out for his son, his panic starting to increase. He grabbed his phone and called Yn.
“Hello?”
“Christopher’s gone.”
She had just sat down, flipping on the TV when her cellphone rang. Eddie.
“Hello?”
“Christopher’s gone.”
“Where was the last you saw him?” she asked jumping up and racing for the door. As she opened it she felt her the panic in her chest subside. She sighed in relief. “He’s here.”
“I’m on my way “
She put down the call and pulled the young boy into a tight hug well as tight as he would allow. “You scared us. Your dad is worried.”
“I’m sorry.”
After making sure Christopher was all ok and getting him some juice she sat down next to him on the sofa.
“Why did you run away?”
He looked down at the glass in his hand. “You and Dad are fighting and I don’t like it. You never come by anymore.”
She felt ashamed. In the last two months Eddie had done his best to avoid her and at first she had tried but eventually gave up. She hadn’t thought about the boy sitting here. “Christopher, I’m so sorry. What ever is going on with your dad and we shouldn’t have let it affect you.”
“Do you love my dad?”
She sighed, “Yes but it’s not that easy.” She added seeing the hopeful look on his face.
“How come? Is it because of Luke?”
“Luke was a factor yes.”
“Why can’t it just be simple? You love dad and he loves you.”
Before she could answer there was a knock at the door. “How many speed limits did you break?” she jokingly asked Eddie as he stood there.
“A few.”
“He’s on the sofa. Don’t be too hard on him.”
Eddie smiled softly at her, knowing just how much she cared for his son.
“Hey bud. You scared me.” He said sitting down next to him.
“I’m sorry dad. I just wanted to see Yn.”
“I know and I’m sorry, it’s my fault. I made a mistake and it affected you.”
“Does this mean that you too won’t be fighting anymore?”
“I hope not,” Eddie replied glancing over at his friend. She nodded in agreement but had a funny look on her face.
“Hey bud,” he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone and handed it to his son. “I’m gonna chat to Yn real quick. Why don’t you watch something?”
“Ok.”
Eddie smiled before getting up and nudge his head towards the balcony. She silently followed him. After stepping outside he closed the sliding door behind him.
“Did you mean that?” she asked.
“What?”
“Kissing me was a mistake?”
“I don’t know, maybe?” he honestly replied.
“Why?”
“Because it broke our friendship.”
“No, that was you deciding to be an ass.”
“I’m an idiot.”
“No arguments here.”
“Yn, it’s hard. Watching you be with someone else.”
“Well maybe if you had talked to me you would know that Luke and I broke up.”
“What?” he asked.
She nodded. “A month ago.”
“What happened?”
“His brother got in an accident and he went home to Sydney. It was supposed to be for a two weeks but he realized how much he missed Australia and his family. Lucky for him his firm has an office over there.”
“So he just left you?”
“He asked me to go with. But I don’t want to leave LA, my family, the 118….you.”
“Me?” he asked moving closer to her. He didn’t want to get his hopes up but he also didn’t want to miss an opportunity.
“Yeah. I wanted to tell you but you weren’t talking to me and I haven’t really told anyone. They just think he is helping his family and will be home soon. And you’re seeing someone.”
“Marisol and I went on two dates and that was it.”
“Why?”
“Christopher and you. I thought maybe he was just being difficult. Didn’t like the idea of someone taking his mom’s place. But turns out it’s because it wasn’t you.”
She turned to look at the boy inside, she loved him and she was in love with his dad. She had missed them terribly even though she saw Eddie everyday at work. “So where does this leave us?”
“I miss you, and if we are just friends then I’ll make it work. I just need you.”
“And what if I don’t want to be just friends?” she asked closing the gap between them.
He wrapped his arms around her pulling her closer, then I would be the happiest guy alive.”
“No more fighting or running.”
“Just you and me.”
“And Christopher.”
He chuckled, “And Christopher.” He kissed her.
“Oh,” she pulled back slightly. “And no getting mad at each other for doing our jobs.”
“As long as you don’t do anything risky.”
She arched a brow, “Me?”
He nodded.
“It was one time. You on the other hand…..”
She never got to finish her sentence as he swiftly kissed her once more.
Back inside Christopher click on the contact and dialed the number. As soon as it was answered he said with a smile. “Hey Buck it worked.”
If either Eddie or Yn found out Buck had been in on the plan…..he was a died man.
An: please let me know if you want more Eddie Diaz and Yn or if you have any requests.

ᕚ---ᕘ
The morning sun cast a golden glow over the streets of Los Angeles as you and Athena Grant patrolled the streets in the patrol car. It was one of those rare days when the weather was perfect and the city seemed surprisingly quiet. Athena enjoyed the peace and your company. You had known each other for years and had been through countless missions together, which had led to a very deep friendship and tacit understanding between you.
"So, y/n," Athena began as they drove through the streets and she tapped the steering wheel to the soft melody of the radio. "Do you have any plans for the weekend yet?"
You laughed quietly and glanced at her sideways, your head leaning on your hand that was placed by the window. "Nothing concrete yet. I'm thinking about finally going to the cinema again. There's that new Marvel film and I thought I'd take Harry and May with me?"
Athena grinned. "But only if you take me with you? You know I can never say no to a nice day with the kids and you."
"Perfect, then that's a plan. I heard this movie is excellent and the animations are supposed to be awesome!" you nodded contentedly, your body shaking in the passenger seat with excitement. Athena could only shake her head, you were a total nerd when it came to the Marvel universe and even though she knew absolutely nothing about it, she loved hearing you talk about it.
The conversations between you flowed easily and effortlessly, switching from work to personal anecdotes and back. You teased each other and laughed about shared memories. Despite the many years in the service, you were still able to make Athena laugh and she appreciated your company more than she wanted to admit.
"Okay, last question," you said as you stopped at a traffic light, adjusting your sunglasses. "If you weren't a cop, what would you be doing?"
Athena thought for a moment and then answered casually, her gaze strictly focused on the traffic. "I'd probably open a café. I love coffee and I like helping people, so that would be the perfect combination."
You laughed out loud. "That honestly sounds like a dream. I would definitely be your regular customer." you said and shortly afterwards Athena drove the car into a parking lane in front of a bank. "I have to go in for a moment to sort out something personal. Are you coming with me?"
You nodded and got out of the car. You went into the bank together, where Athena went to the counter to take care of her affairs. You waited nearby and let your gaze wander around the banks. It seemed to be a completely normal morning - customers standing in line, employees working behind the counters and a general business atmosphere.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, three masked men burst into the bank, armed with assault weapons. A shrill scream broke the silence as one of the men fired the gun into the air. "Nobody move! This is a robbery!" one of the masked men yelled.
Athena exchanged a quick look with you and felt her body immediately tense as her training and experience took over. She knew this was an extremely dangerous situation and any wrong move could have disastrous consequences.
"Everyone on the floor!" one of the robbers ordered as the other two began to check the customers and employees.
You both obeyed and slowly lowered yourselves to the floor, your eyes always wandering between you and the robbers. Athena knew she would need a plan to defuse this situation, but for now you had to stay calm and wait for your chance.
One of the robbers went from person to person, collecting cell phones and carefully making sure that no one tried to set off an alarm or call the police. So far they hadn't noticed that two police officers were already in the bank. Athena watched the main man closely and noticed that he was nervous. His hands were shaking slightly and his chest was rising and falling quickly.
You, who had crawled towards Athena unnoticed, whispered almost imperceptibly. "We have to find a way to get the situation under control."
Athena nodded almost imperceptibly. "Wait for my instructions. We can't rush anything." she said and the minutes seemed to stretch on endlessly as the robbers continued to gain control of the bank. One of the men went to the vault while the other two kept an eye on the customers.
Athena felt her heart beating faster, but she forced herself to stay calm. She knew that every movement, every word could be decisive now. Her eyes wandered around the bank, looking for a possible opportunity to overpower the robbers.
"Hey, boss!" one of the robbers suddenly shouted, waiting until he got the larger man's attention before pointing the gun at Athena. "We have cops in the bank."
Athena remained calm as she slowly rose to her feet, her hands above her head. "Stay calm," Athena said in a firm and controlled voice.
The situation became chaotic in a matter of seconds. The robber, nervous and obviously mentally distressed, pulled a woman to her feet, a gun pointed strictly at her head while he screamed wildly. "No tricks, got it? You will shut up and try nothing, or you will be the first to lose your life. I'm not afraid of shooting fucking cops."
"Release the hostage and we can solve this peacefully," she spoke carefully and in a calm tone, but the robber didn't understand and continued to shout at her. "You don't understand! Nobody understands! I have nothing left to lose!"
The tension rose as the robber looked around wildly. Athena saw the gun start to shake in his sweaty hands and knew that the situation could escalate at any time and suddenly, the gun was no longer aimed at the woman, but directly at her.
You reacted instinctively. Without hesitation, you pushed yourself up from the ground and threw yourself in front of Athena. There was a loud bang - a shot had been fired. Then another shot, and for a moment time seemed to stand still. You felt the stabbing pain as the bullet hit you and you fell to the ground.
Athena's heart skipped a beat and she had to act quickly. When the robber was inattentive for a brief moment, Athena took the opportunity and ripped the gun from his hand. A fierce fight broke out while everyone else took cover. She managed to quickly overpower and arrest her opponent. You had shot the other in the shoulder from your position on the ground to give your partner cover.
When the two were handcuffed, Athena turned to the frightened bank customers and employees. "Reinforcements will be here soon. Everything will be fine. Please stay calm." she said and turned back to you. "Y/n!" she whispered as she knelt down. Blood seeped through your uniform and she knew it was serious. You weren't wearing a protective vest and the wounds on your upper and lower body looked serious.
While Athena desperately tried to stop the blood flow, the SWAT team ran in and overpowered the last robber, who went back into the main room of the bank. "Stay with me, y/n. You can't give up now."
You smiled weakly, your eyes filled with pain as you tried to take short breaths. "I... won't... 'thena."
Paramedics rushed in behind the SWAT team and began treating you. Athena didn't leave your side, her hands pressed tightly to your wounds as she continued to try to stop the blood loss. "We need to get her to the hospital immediately." one of the paramedics said as they placed you on a stretcher.
Athena followed the stretcher out and got into the ambulance. Her mind was racing and she couldn't hold back the tears. "Please, y/n, hold on."
ᕚ---ᕘ
The ambulance sped through the streets of Los Angeles, its sirens blaring and its lights flashing in frantic patterns. Athena held your hand tightly, her eyes full of worry and fear. Blood seeped through her fingers and dried on the sleeves of her police jacket. "Hold on, y/n," she whispered again, her voice shaking with emotion. "You can't give up now. Not after everything we've been through."
You weakly opened your eyes, briefly coming back from unconsciousness. "I'll try, Athena. For you."
When you reached the hospital, you were immediately greeted by a team of doctors and nurses and taken to an operating room. Athena was left alone in the lobby, hands smeared with your blood and shaking. All she could do was pray and hope that you would make it.
Hours passed in slow motion. Athena sat in a sterile waiting room, her thoughts racing. Memories of missions together, of conversations and of moments when you had saved her life flooded her mind. She couldn't imagine life without you. Not now, not ever.
Hours later, a doctor finally made his way to her. "She's stable," he said briefly, disinfecting his hands. "It was close. The bullet missed some important organs and arteries, but she lost a lot of blood. She'll make it, but it will take a while until she's fully recovered."
Tears of relief streamed down Athena's face. She knew she had almost lost someone who meant more to her than she ever wanted to admit. "Thank you," she whispered, unable to find more words. "Thank you for saving her."
The next few days were a test of patience and hope for Athena. She visited you regularly in the hospital, sat by your bed and held your hand. She spoke to you, even though you were often too weak to answer. But she knew you heard her, and that gave her strength.
One afternoon, when the sun shone warmly through the window of the hospital room, you awoke from a deep sleep. Athena sat by your side, quietly reading from a comic that Harry had brought for you. When she noticed that you were awake, she put the comic aside and smiled.
"Hey, you," she said gently. "How are you feeling?"
"Better now that you're here." You blinked and smiled weakly. Athena felt her heart beating faster. She had thought a lot over the last few days and had come to an important realization. She could no longer hide her feelings. It was time to tell you the truth.
"Y/n.." she began, her voice anxious and not what you were used to. "I have to tell you something. Something I've been feeling for a long time, but never had the courage to say it."
You looked at her carefully, your eyes full of curiosity and affection. "What is it, Athena?"
She took a deep breath and squeezed your hand tighter. "I... I love you, y/n. I always have, but I never admitted it to myself. But when I thought I might lose you, I realized how much you really mean to me. You are not only my best friend and partner, you are the person I can't imagine my life without."
Tears came to your eyes and you smiled. "Athena, I love you too. For so long. But I was always afraid that you wouldn't feel the same. That I could ruin our friendship."
Athena leaned forward and kissed your forehead gently. "Our friendship is strong enough to survive anything. And I'm ready to take a new path with you. Together."
Your smile grew wider and you pulled Athena closer to you with all your strength. "Then let's walk this path together, 'thena. No matter what happens, we will get through it together."
In the weeks and months that followed, you recovered slowly but steadily. Athena was always by your side, supporting you and encouraging you every step of the way. Your relationship deepened and you found comfort and strength in your love for each other.
One evening, as you sat together in the hospital garden and looked at the stars, you took Athena's hand and kissed it gently. "Thank you for being with me," you whispered. "You are my rock, Athena. With you by my side, I can do anything."
Athena smiled and leaned on your shoulder. "And you are my heart, y/n. Together we are unbeatable."
You knew that life would continue to hold challenges for them, but you were both ready to face them together. Your love was stronger than any danger, and you would always be there for each other, no matter what.

Tomorrow Holds Such Better Days
Fandom: 9-1-1 Word Count: 2,472 Characters: Evan Buckley, Eddie Diaz, Bobby Nash, firefam (mentioned) Warnings: major trigger warning for depression, suicidal thoughts, suicide and overdosing with pills. If you are not in the right mind frame to read this please skip this one. Summary: After your depression worsens, you decide to take things into your own hands and end your life, but will a message to your family be enough to save your life? Tagslist: @firemedicdiaz @winterreader-nowwriter @iamasimpingh0e @dayrin085 @hauntedmilkshakeghost @floralbuckleys @alexxavicry (if you want to be added or taken off the list, please let me know)
Thank you @floralbuckleys @firemedicdiaz and @bucketofbarnes for all of your help, support with writing this <3
If you or anyone else is struggling with thoughts of suicide please reach out to someone you trust or alternatively try these helplines (x) If the link is broken, please let me know. You don't have to suffer alone.
You were no stranger to depression, having struggled with it off and on for a long time. The constant, agonizing feeling of sinking, as if you were watching everyone around you swimming up for air but there was a constant weight dragging you down. You didn’t want to die, but sometimes it just felt that going to sleep and never waking up or an accident on the job taking you out would make it easier.
Life had just gotten to be too much. Truly, sometimes you just thought maybe it wasn’t for you. Maybe you were just one of the unlucky ones that life didn’t work out for. With those constant thoughts plaguing your mind for days, you had finally made up your mind to end your life and made peace with it. If self-preservation had taught you anything, it was that maybe you should be terrified. But no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn’t bring yourself to care.
Usually you would have reached out to someone before it got to this point. You would have phoned Eddie, Buck or Bobby, or even the family you’d gained through them, knowing they’d all been through their own struggles. Any one of them would have dropped what they were doing to help you. But again, no matter how hard you tried to pick up the phone, typing and backspacing messages asking for help, the voice in your head was just too loud and fed you all the usual lies.
‘You’re a burden,’ ‘No one cares.’ ‘Why are you so needy?’ ‘They have their own lives and issues to worry about without adding your burdens to them.’
You didn’t want to put your issues on them anymore, scared of the judgment, the looks and the pity they might give you. Not when they had their own problems and lives to deal with. If you were being truthful to yourself, maybe you didn’t want to tell them because if you did they would stop you and you weren’t sure if that’s what you wanted.
This just felt like the best option; for you, and for them.
You opened your phone, sending a text to Bobby first to let him know you couldn’t make it to work again. It was the second shift in a row that you’d missed, and even now you hated the fact that you were letting the team down. A few moments later, your phone started pinging with a few notifications from your friends.
Hen: ‘I hope you feel better soon <3’
Chim: ‘Feel better, let me or Maddie know if you need anything :)’
Buck: ‘Me and Eddie will swing by to check on you with some soup after shift, do you need anything else? xx’
You cursed yourself for lying to them, once again forcing the attention on yourself. The guilt only added to your decision and with one last text to the group, that was it.
‘Thanks for always having my back guys. Appreciate and love you all.’
You hit the send button, leaving the phone on your coffee table along with a hastily scribbled note explaining your decision and apologizing.
To everyone else, the message you’d sent seemed normal. They’d pocketed their phones and gone about their normal duties, checking inventory and cleaning, but something in Buck just didn’t sit right. He’d read the message over and over, trying to convince himself that everything was okay, but he just couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right.
You’d opened up to Buck about your past a few times, your parents, even your therapy. He thought you’d been doing better but he’d noticed your downturn in mood lately; how quiet you’d been, how your smile didn’t quite reach your eyes, even as you laughed at his and Chim’s jokes.
Buck made his way to Bobby’s office. “Hey Cap, is it alright if me and Eddie swing by y/n’s place?”
Bobby didn’t miss the concern plastering Buck’s face, being able to read him like a book and knowing something wasn’t sitting right with him.
“What’s going on?”
It didn’t take him long to quickly explain his worries, the warning signs, and that he wouldn’t feel okay until he checked on you.
Bobby mentally kicked himself for not putting it together sooner, knowing the warning signs from his own experiences when Hen and Buck had almost had to break his door down for him years before. “Take one of the med kits and keep me updated.”
Buck practically flew out of Bobby’s office, calling Eddie as he ran to grab one of the spare medical kits and monitors from the storage closet.
“I’ll explain on the way, we need to go. Now.”
“Y/N, can you open the door for us?”
Buck pulled out his phone, willing his hands to stop shaking so he could unlock the screen and call your number. Eddie leant in closer to the door as they heard your familiar ringtone. With no answer or signs of movement, Eddie pulled out the spare key you’d given him.
As the pair walked in, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The place was relatively tidy but there was no sign of you being there. Buck called out your name once more, his worry only growing as he was met with silence.
“Buck…” Eddie’s heart felt as if it were in his throat as his eyes landed on your phone sitting on top of a folded piece of paper on the coffee table where you’d left them.
Buck’s feet carried him towards your bedroom before his mind could even fully comprehend the note, not even caring to knock as he swung open the door. His breath caught in his throat as he saw your body lying prone on your bed, the small orange pill bottle lying empty and open on your bedside table.
He couldn’t even hear himself screaming Eddie’s name for help over the pounding in his ears as he ran to the bedside and dropped to his knees. He pressed his fingers into your neck, relief washing over him as he felt your pulse beneath his fingertips. It was slower then he’d have liked, but it was there.
You felt as if you were floating, vaguely aware of voices around you, hands jostling your body and flipping you onto your back; but your body was too heavy to fight back, the pull of the drugs still keeping you asleep. You felt another set of warm fingers press into the side of your neck, but the darkness was safe. Comforting.
It wasn’t until you felt the painful sensation of knuckles rubbing up and down the center of your chest that you became more aware of your surroundings. The pain caused you to let out a groan as you sluggishly came back to your senses.
“That’s it. Open your eyes for me, we’ve got you.”
Even through the haze, you could recognise that voice anywhere. “Ed…?”
The knuckles continued to try and rouse you and you would have given anything to smack him away if your arms weren’t so heavy.
“Yeah. It’s me, I’m here. Buck’s here too. Open your eyes for us.”
When you finally opened your eyes, you were met with the two men hovering over you. It didn’t take long for the memories to come rushing back; the text messages…the note…the pills. You suddenly became aware of the enormity of what you’d just attempted. You’d tried to kill yourself, and without Buck and Eddie there you very nearly could have succeeded. There was no coming back from that and you knew you’d have to explain yourself.
You shot up, crashing into Eddie as you wrapped your arms around him, fisting your hands into his t-shirt as every emotion that had built up over the last few weeks burst out. He wrapped his arms around you in return, holding you as you cried, whispering words of comfort and reassurance.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry,” you choked out between sobs.
“Shh, it’s alright, you’re okay. We’ve got you,” you heard Buck say as you felt him rub soothing patterns up and down your back.
Eventually the sobs died down, turning to small hiccups and you pulled away. Shame suddenly overwhelmed you, your hands and gaze dropping to your lap, not being able to look at either man.
Eddie reached out slowly, giving you time to back away before he gently squeezed your hands and ducked his head to try and gain your attention. “Y/n?”
You weren’t sure what you were expecting when you looked up at him; Anger? Annoyance? Disgust? But you were only met with his soft and understanding expression.
“I’m really sorry sweetheart. I know this is the last thing you want right now, but with the pills you took I need you to let me or Buck take a look at you. I know that you know what kinds of effects they can have on your body and so I know you know it's important we get a set of vitals on you and see what’s going on with your heart and breathing. Do you think we can get you settled on the couch so we can check you over?”
You looked between him and Buck, being met with twin concerned expressions and nodded, knowing it needed to be done.
“Thank you,” Eddie replied as he gave your hands another squeeze.
The pair moved to either side of you as they helped you swing your legs off the bed and kept you steady as you stood. They stayed still for a moment, letting you gain your balance, before leading you to the couch in the living room.
Once settled, Buck pulled the blanket from the back of the couch, wrapped it around your back and took the seat next to you, offering out his hand. You took it gratefully, needing all the strength you could get to get you through Eddie’s exam.
He began with a few questions. How many pills you took, how you were feeling physically and if you had any symptoms. Thankfully the vitals were quick and after a few more tears, he set the equipment off to the side and took your other hand. “I’m happy your vitals are stable for now. I’d be happier if you got checked out at the hospital, but…”
“No…” your panic began to rise at the thought of hospitals, doctors and nurses.
A squeeze from Eddie’s hand grounded you enough for him to continue, “But, I understand if you don’t want that,” he added quickly, knowing your previous experiences with hospitals.
“Me and Buck would come with you and we could call it an accidental overdose, no one would need to know the details. It’d just be so we can get you checked medically, but I can’t and am not going to force you.”
“I can’t.”
“Okay, if we’re not going to the hospital then I have a few conditions. I’m going to keep an eye on your vitals until the pills wear off, but if anything changes we will have to call an ambulance. I’m also going to set up some fluids to help flush your system and make you something to eat. How does that sound?”
You were terrified at the thought of more vitals, needles and eating; but you knew the alternative would be a lot worse. You trusted Eddie and Buck with your life, and another glance between the pair had you agreeing to his terms.
Buck was next to speak, offering distraction as Eddie began gathering the supplies he needed to start the IV. “Have you got an appointment with your therapist coming up any time soon?”
“Yeah. I’ve got an appointment the day after tomorrow.”
“That’s good.”
He kept up the conversation, talking about anything that came to mind, Eddie chipping in here and there.
“Almost ready here,” Eddie interrupted, “Where’s best for you to have the IV?”
You held out your preferred arm, turning away to Buck for distraction as he cleaned the area. Before you knew it, Eddie had the fluids up and running. With nothing more to do for the moment, the room fell silent.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Eddie asked, being the first to broach the subject.
You fiddled with the tape on your IV for a minute, not sure whether you wanted to open that can of worms or not. “Not really. I don’t know. I’m a little embarrassed and know it was dumb and I could have come to any of you, but I just couldn’t see a way out for a minute there.”
“It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. I’d be surprised to find someone today who hasn’t been affected by poor mental health,” Eddie replied, “and I don’t need to tell you that any of us would have dropped everything to help you.”
The three of you talked more while the fluids ran through. Buck had already updated Bobby who’d promised to come by after shift, asking Eddie and Buck to stay with you as he called in cover for them. Buck made you all something to eat so you wouldn’t feel alone, while Eddie kept an eye on you and got a few more sets of vitals.
True to his word, a few hours later Bobby appeared, taking the seat beside you as he pulled you into his chest and held you close. “I’m sorry I didn’t notice you were struggling sooner,” he whispered only for you to hear.
“Do the others know?”
“No,” Bobby shook his head, “and they don’t have to know, unless you tell them. They just think you’ve got a bad case of the flu.”
“I’m sorry,” you let out after a few moments of silence.
“You don’t have to be. I’ve been there before. After my family died I had a plan and if it weren’t for Buck, Hen and the rest of you…I wouldn’t be here. They got me through and we’ll get you through. It’s what family does.”
You let out a shaky breath, “So. What happens now?”
“That’s up to you. Do you think it would be a good idea to take some time off work?”
“No. Isolating myself just makes things worse. Not having anything to do tends to make me spiral a little.”
The pair of you agreed on a plan. A few days off to recover, continuing with your therapist and checking in with either him, Buck or Eddie if you felt yourself slipping again. Buck offered to let you stay with him, not wanting you to be alone and wanting you where he could keep an eye on you for the night. You knew the road to recovery was only just beginning, but you felt a little lighter with your family by your side.

Prompt - 'So this is me swallowing my pride, standing in front of you saying I’m sorry for that night.’
You felt like you could hardly sit still as you sat at a small table furthest away from the door, trying to get the most amount of privacy for the conversation that was to come. Outside the window snow fell down and you rubbed your hands together, both out of nerves and in an attempt to warm them up.
You had played and replayed how this conversation was going to go a million times over in your head, planned what to say only to scrap each idea as nothing you came up with felt good enough.
The drink you had ordered had been placed on your table only seconds before the bell jingled to announce the door opening and you barely had time to thank the waitress before your mouth went dry. As much as you wanted this conversation, as grateful as you were for it, there was another part of you that wanted to run away.
But you couldn’t run away again, not when you were being given a second chance, even if it was only to have one last conversation before living the rest of your life with regrets over what could've been.
You watched as he scanned the rooms, cheeks red from the cold, before his eyes landed on you. You hated the tension clearly readable even from across the room and how he seemed to have to force his feet to make their way over to you.
“Hi.” He greeted softly, his voice sending an ache through you and you had to force yourself to swallow past the lump in your throat as he sat in the seat across from you.
“Hey,” Your voice was just as soft as his was, if a little more obviously shaky. “Thank you for coming, I’m so glad you made time to see me.”
“Yeah, well, I,” Buck started before he trailed off and shook his head. “It’s good to see you.”
“You too.” You told him with a small smile, meaning it with every part of you. It had only been two or so weeks since you had last seen him but you had missed him more than words could say. “How is everything? How’s the 118, I haven’t seen them since-” You cut yourself off, neither you or Buck needing you to finish that sentence.
“Things are good, work’s busy but I guess it always is more hectic around the holidays.” He smiled and even though it didn’t meet his eyes you were so glad to see it. “Everyone else is good, Christopher misses you.”
“I miss him too.” Breaking up with Buck was bad but it wasn’t just him you had lost, you had lost the friendship you had made with his friends. You didn’t blame any of them for cutting you off, they were his friends first and would always be in his corner before yours but you missed them all so much.
“How’ve you been?” Buck asked and you couldn’t stop the frown that pulled at your lips because truth be told you hadn’t been great but you wouldn’t tell Buck that, not when it was your fault you were having sleepless night after sleepless night, replaying the same scene, the same conversation, over in your head a million times. You spent nights crying when the memories of weekend trips invaded your mind, summer adventures where Buck drove and you sat at his side, watching him laugh as the two of you sung loudly to the radio, remembered the nights tucked against his chest with his arms wrapped around you and feeling safer than you had ever felt in your whole life.
“I’m okay.” Was about as much as you could muster up and Buck glanced away from you for only a moment before his focus was back on you. The lump in your throat was back and you forced it down, as well as the stinging you felt in the back of your eyes.
The small talk was painful to both of you, the reason why you were here hanging heavily in the air but you were still desperately trying to think of the right thing to say. Buck’s guard was so obviously up and for good reason to. You’d hurt him, you knew he had been hurt before, left behind without a second thought and you had done the same to him.
How could you tell him the reason when you didn’t fully understand why you had done it yourself? How could you tell him that you had panicked, that he had been so perfect, so incredible, always thoughtful, always putting you first, how could you tell him that it was so serious that it had scared you.
Part of you knew he would have understood if you had handled it better, if you had sat him down and told him that this was the most serious relationship you’d ever had, that you loved him more than anything and that terrified you. For some reason you hadn’t been able to bring yourself to do that though, to handle it maturely and take a breath, instead you had walked away in a panic only to regret it every day since.
Buck had every reason to keep his distance now, he had every reason not to show up at all but you were glad he had. You loved him so much and if you ever had a second chance with the man you would never take it for granted.
You shifted in your seat, sitting up straighter and wrapped your hands around your mug just for something to do with them. The lump in your throat seemed to be stuck there but you took another breath and forced yourself to address the reason you had asked Buck to come here.
No part of you was expecting him to take you back but you at least owed him an explanation. People were good at leaving Buck without one and after all the goodness and kindness he had treated you with he at least deserved a reason, he deserved to not spend anymore nights blaming himself and wondering what had gone wrong.
“I’m sorry,” you began and watched as Buck sat up straighter too, his eyes wide and sad as he looked at you and you felt your heart ache. “I’m sorry for that night, Buck. I regret it more than I’ve regretted anything.”
“Why?” Was all Buck was able to choke out and seeing the tears in his eyes made yours sting.
“I wish there was a good reason, Buck. I wish I could tell you something that doesn’t sound as pathetic as the truth.” You told him, voice cracking as you spoke and your grip on the mug tightened.
“Just tell me, Y/N/N, I need to know because I have spent every night agonising over what I did wrong.” He forced out, a single tear sliding down his cheek but he made no move to wipe it away. “I thought we were good.”
“We were, Buck. I promise you, if you don’t believe anything else I say believe this, you were perfect. You were so much more that I could ever ask for, so much more than I deserve and it terrified me. It terrified me Buck because I have never felt this way about anyone in my whole life and I didn’t know how to handle it. I didn’t know what to do with the fact that I love you Buck, I love you so much and I’m not saying this to win you back, I know I hurt you and that, that is unforgivable because you were nothing but amazing and you didn’t deserve me walking out on you and for that, Buck, I am so sorry.” By the end of the short speech tears were sliding down both your cheeks and you were glad you had sat at the back in the far corner of the room, grateful for the privacy.
“Y/N,” Buck whispered but couldn’t seem to say anything else and you smiled at him, a smile filled with sadness and regret.
“I’m so, so sorry, Buck.” You repeated shakily, “I said this wasn’t me trying to get you back and I meant that but I have spent every night since that night regretting not just talking to you, every night missing you more than anything. If I could go back and change it, go back and just talk to you, God Buck, I'd do it in a heartbeat and I’d understand you never wanting to see me again, to walk away and be done with me-”
“I love you too, Y/N/N.” Buck told you softly, cutting off whatever you were going to say next and you were glad for the interruption both because you had no idea what you were actually saying, the words just falling out of you, but also because you got to hear Buck tell you he loved you for the first time. “I love you so much and trust me I was scared too, hell Bobby and Eddie can tell you how many nights I kept them up talking about it so I get it, I just wished you’d talked to me before leaving.”
The two of you were sat with tears falling down your cheeks, looking at one another with love, sadness, hope, as well a whole mix of other emotions. Despite not knowing what was going to happen, for the first time since you’d left Buck you felt like you could breathe again, like the weight that had been sitting on your chest for weeks was finally gone and you couldn’t help but smile at Buck.
“I wish I could change how I handled it.” You told him softly and he just smiled back at you, reaching across the table and gently pried your hand off the mug to wrap in his hand, his thumb brushing gently against your knuckles.
“Promise me that next time you’ll just talk to me, Y/N. I can’t handle you walking away again.” Buck told you and your eyebrows knitted together before his words fully registered and your eyes widened.
“Next time? Buck I-”
“You were scared and overwhelmed and didn’t know how to handle it. I told you I get it but we have to talk about these things, I don’t want to lose you.” Buck cut you off and you couldn’t help but smile at his words even as more tears filled your eyes.
“I promise, Buck.” You told him sincerely, still in disbelief that he was so open to fixing things, to not holding your mistake against you.
God, you loved him so much.
“Good because these last few weeks have been hell.” He laughed even as a few more tears slid down his cheeks. “I’ve missed you so much.”
“I’ve missed you too, Buck.” You said softly and the two of you just sat there for a moment longer, unable to look away from each other, unable to stop smiling as you did.
You might not have been able to go back in time, back to that first week of December where you had walked out of Buck’s apartment with tears sliding down your cheeks, but somehow you were here now with Buck, Buck who had the biggest heart you knew, Buck who would bend over backwards to help anyone, Buck who had the capacity to forgive no matter how many times he got hurt.
You swore to yourself as you squeezed the hand still holding yours that you would never take him for granted, would never let another day go by you don’t tell him you loved him, would never mess up your second chance with Buck.

I’ve been watching 9-1-1 and I love it but I was thinking of a crossover with supernatural and it’s like Maddie and Buck have got an older sister and she ran away with Dean Winchester, when she was younger and they fell in love with each but everyone else thinks that she runaway with a serial killer and that they think she’s in a abusive relationship and Buck and Maddie didn’t know that they had a older sister and they find out because Athena goes to one of the crimes and finds a fingerprint that matches DNA with Maddie and Buck and then tells them.
P.s( I would love this to be a series even if it’s not that long but someone please do this for me even if it’s not that long as long it’s good!!! I would done it myself, but I’m shit at writing)😂😂😂😂😘✨

I Think It's Time You Marry Me - Evan "Buck" Buckley Imagine (9-1-1)
Title: I Think It's Time You Marry Me
Pairing: Evan "Buck" Buckley X Reader
Word Count: 1,103 words
Warning(s): mention of disaster/potential injury
Summary: [Inspired by "Marry Me" by Olly Murs] After a disastrous call, (Y/n) finds themself sitting by the phone and the TV with no word from or about Buck. When the man of the hour finally makes it home, he seems surprised about how much (Y/n) had truly worried about him.
Author's Note: Olly Murs released a new album, and this happened.
Also, y'all remember when I called Buck a himbo and seemed to get a chunk of this fandom to agree with me? Those were fun times.
-----------------------
It was easily the longest day of my life.
It had all started so... normal. Maybe that's why the whole day was so mind-boggling. There were no signs of what was going to happen. No sign that anything was going to go horribly wrong.
Buck had woken up before me. He kissed my forehead and mumbled for me to go back to bed before he ran off to get ready for the day.
I sat in my half-awake state, watching him move around the room, quietly thanking whatever entity allowed us to find this little place that could be completely ours. A place where we could both move so naturally.
I curled on my side as he walked back over and kissed me again. He muttered about how he hoped that I had a good day. And then, he left.
I didn't stay in bed for long after that. I got up, made my coffee, and tried to have a relaxing morning. Working from home had some benefits.
I had been clicking away at my keyboard. I had long since forgotten what words I had been writing. The news had been on in the background in the hopes of becoming an interruption to the silence that made me feel gross and sluggish.
And then, the news broke.
It looked like the world was ending. It's so easy for our minds to become apocalyptic when we don't have answers.
My heart dropped. My hands stopped moving and my head snapped over to the TV screen, watching the scene unfold. It almost felt wrong. For my home to be so peaceful and in order while watching everything in the world go wrong around me.
I turned around in my seat, watching the footage with wide eyes.
I jumped for my phone. I knew that if Buck was at the scene, then he wouldn't answer me for a while, but that didn't stop me when I fumbled to dial his number. I left a message for him.
"Hey- Hey, I... I'm watching the news and I know you're busy and I... Just... Just call me or text me or something when you get a chance. I need to know that you're okay. Please. I love you."
Every minute felt like hours. Every hour felt like days. It was terrible and drawn out. I wanted to find a way to run from it all, but I couldn't. I was stuck there in that time. In that period of unknowing and fear.
The news was still on, but it felt like nothing had processed in my mind. Nothing.
I had spent the day pacing. I did laps around the living room and the kitchen. I didn't eat. I tried to drink some water, but I knew it wasn't enough. It was hard to focus on my own needs when there was so much going wrong just outside my door.
I left countless messages. Texts and voicemails for Buck. I felt guilty but it was all just panic and anxiety looking for some kind of answer. I even called Eddie a few times. Nothing.
I checked my phone every few minutes, hoping to see something.
I never did.
It was already dark when I heard the front door open.
I froze where I was, watching as Buck walked back inside. He looked so tired.
He didn't look back at me until the door closed.
It was almost like time suddenly started going back to its normal pace. Like everything returned to how it was supposed to be.
"Buck."
I got over to him as quickly as I could. My arms wrapped around him and my eyes closed, relaxing for the first time in hours. Not fully, but just enough.
I leaned back, my hands moving to the sides of his face. "Are you okay? Are you hurt? I called and left messages and I knew you probably weren't going to have time to answer, but I needed to try. The news was no help. I didn't know what to do. I just- God, are you okay-"
Buck leaned forward and pressed his lips to mine. I froze for a moment before slowly kissing him back. My arms fell naturally around his neck as his hands touched my sides.
I pulled away a bit. I looked at him as his forehead rested on mine.
"I should've called you back," he muttered.
"No, no," I replied. "It's okay. I just... God, I'm so happy that you're okay. And you're home and okay. And that's what matters to me."
"I'm still sorry-"
"Stop it," I mumbled. "Please. Don't apologize. You couldn't control what happened today. I'm not upset with you. At all."
He closed his eyes again.
"I just... I love you so much, Buck. So much. I was scared, yes, but I'm not angry or upset. I'm just relieved. Because you're home and you're okay and I'm actually able to say that to you. Just... God, I love you."
He leaned in and kissed me again. I sighed into the kiss, allowing whatever remaining weight there had been to fall away like I was throwing off a jacket.
I leaned back, grinning at him.
His next words seemed to slip out like he couldn't have physically stopped them, "Marry me."
I stared at him with wide eyes after I took a step back. "What?"
"What?"
"Was... Was that a genuine proposal," I asked.
"I... Well... I don't... I didn't mean for that to come out like that," he replied. I couldn't remember the last time I had seen Buck stumble over his words like that. "I mean... I've thought about it. I've been thinking about it for a while now. But I don't have like a ring or anything. We can just ignore this happened-"
"We are definitely not ignoring it."
He froze, just staring at me.
"Do you want to marry me?"
"Yeah," he let out a sigh as he spoke, a smile breaking out on his face.
I leaned in and pecked his lips. "I want to marry you too."
He looked away, seemingly trying to hide his face.
"We should do it," I said. "We both want to. We've both been thinking about it. We should do it."
"You're sure?"
I nodded. "Surer than I've been about anything in a while."
"Okay," he replied. "Let's do it."
I cupped the sides of his face again, running my thumbs along his cheekbones.
"God, I love you," I muttered.
"I love you too," he mumbled back before pulling me into yet another kiss.
And how perfect a kiss it was.

You sat down on your empty kitchen counter , the pain in your arm showing up again, reminding you that you couldn’t move it. A sigh fell from your lips as you heard knocking on your door, walking towards it and looking through to see May. The frown you had suddenly turned into a soft smile while you unlocked the door.
“Y/N!”
“May!” You said back with the same energy, giving her a side hug to prevent putting harmful pressure on your injury.
“How’s your arm holding up?” She asks, pushing past you with 2 grocery bags on her left arm and 1 on her right.
“Woah woah woah…What do you have in those bags?” you say, May gave you was mocking-confusion.
“Remember, you had broken your arm right in front of me, so I’m deciding to help you get better in the process- and don’t say you don’t need help…” she looks around to see the small messes splatter around your apartment, “cause you do..”
“Okay okay,” you laugh, “Maybe I do need some help.” You grab one of the bags with your uninjured arm, glancing inside.
“How is popcorn and my favorite candy gonna help my arm heal?” You say raising an eyebrow.
“By watching your favorite movie! I can’t have you sad AND in pain. I’ll be staying here for a while.” May announces, her head tilting upwards to show her proudness, you just can’t help but giggle.
“But…I don’t want you being here just cause I’m hurt-“
“I’m here because I want to be here Y/N.” She looks at you with a heartwarming smile.
“Thank you…really. You’re already making me feel better.” The both of you laugh before she says something again.
“Of course! Now let’s get you settled in for some movie time.” May heads to the living room, setting down the bags and beginning to search for your favorite movie. You follow after her, feeling a sense of comfort as you settle in on the couch with a cozy blanket.
As the movie starts, you feel your worries fade away and your pain start to dull. May sits down right beside you, snacking on popcorn and laughing at the movie’s jokes. You can’t help but smile, happy that she’s here with you.
After the movie ends, May helps you clean up and settle into bed to sleep. As you close your eyes, you feel a sense of peace wash over you, knowing that you have someone who cares about you and will be there for you when you need it most.

Heat of the Moment - Eddie Diaz x Male Reader
Summary: Eddie has been flirting with you since you joined the 188 and finally takes action
Words: 1.5k
Warnings: heavy make out
Notes: I hope this justice to the anon who requested it
Y/N’s POV
I step into the firehouses’ locker room, the faint scent of aged leather and burnt wood lingering in the air. The camaraderie within the 188 has been welcoming, making my transition into the team seamless. Each member has extended a hand of friendship, but there’s one person who has constantly set my heart racing—Eddie Diaz.
The man is charismatic, there’s no denying that. His infectious smile and friendly demeanour have everyone at ease, but it’s more than that for me. Eddie’s playful banter, the subtle compliments that dance of the edge of flirtation, have me blushing like a teenager. And he knows it, damn it. It starts with those smiles—the kind that makes my heart skip a beat. He catches my eye across the room, a glint of mischief evident in the depths of his gaze, and that’s where it all begins.
Sometimes, as he passes by, his touch is barely perceptible but sends shivers down my spine. A casual hand on my shoulder when he shares a joke, or a gentle brush of his fingers as he hands me something. It’s a touch that lingers just long enough to be noticed but short enough to leave me yearning for more.
In the confined space of the locker room, Eddie takes it up a notch. I’m lacing up my boots, focused on the task at hand, when I feel his presence behind me. His hands find their way to my hips, a casual yet intimate touch as he manoeuvres around me to grab his gear. My breath catches, and I try to convince myself it’s just friendly camaraderie, but the way his fingers linger leaves me questioning.
Words, too, become his weapons of choice. He leans in close when he speaks, his warm breath grazing my ear. The simplest of comments carry a weight that makes my cheeks burn. “You know, Y/N, you really make this fire station a much brighter place,” He says with a grin, and I swear I can feel the heat of his words against my skin. As Eddie’s words hang in the air, I can’t help but feel a surge of wrath that has nothing to do with the uniform. I stand up, intending to respond with something clever or at least coherent, but the moment I rise, I’m acutely aware of his proximity.
Suddenly, he’s there, close enough I can feel the heat radiating from his body. It catches me off guard, and for a moment, I’m frozen in place. Eddie’s chest presses against my back, and the contract sends a jolt through me. My heart races, and I can’t ignore the magnetic pull between us.
“Is that so?” I manage to reply, my voice sounding much steadier than I feel. His closeness is intoxicating, and I can’t deny the effect it has on me.
He chuckles, the sound low and tantalising and I sense his breath against the nape of my neck, “Absolutely. You’re really something special.”
I turn around to face him, and the intensity in his gaze makes my pulse quicken. Before I can full comprehend what’s happening, Eddie takes a step closer, and my back meets the cold metal of the lockers. The sudden change in proximity has my breath catching.
“Eddie, what are you—" I begin, but my words are cut off as he crowds me, his body inching closer until there's hardly any space between us. The locker room seems to shrink, the air thickening with an unspoken tension.
His hand finds the wall beside my head, effectively trapping me. Eddie's eyes flicker with a mixture of playfulness and something deeper, more intense. "Y/N," he murmurs, his voice a low timbre that sends shivers down my spine. His proximity is both exhilarating and unnerving. I can feel the warmth of his body, the subtle brush of his breath against my skin. My senses heighten as his hand rests on the wall, caging me in.
His eyes, intense and magnetic, hold mine captive. There’s a playfulness in them, but it’s underscored by an unmistakable depth that speaks of unexplored desires. As he murmurs my name, the timbre of his voice resonates within me, sending shivers down my spine. It’s a magnetic pull, drawing me closer to the edge of something I never anticipated.
With Eddie’s hand finds mine, it’s a jolt of electricity. His fingers interlace with mine, creating an intimate connection that transcends the playful banter of earlier. The touch is firm yet gentle, as if he’s reassuring me that this is a path we’re walking together. His other hand, warm and possessive, rests on my hip. It’s a point of contact that sets my nerves ablaze. Every move feels deliberate, sending a rush of anticipation through my veins. I can’t help but marvel at the way his body aligns with mine, the proximity igniting a fire within.
In that charged moment, as Eddie's scent wraps around me, I can almost taste the anticipation in the air. The mixture of his subtle cologne and the rugged musk of the fire station creates a sensory overload that heightens every nerve in my body. The world outside this locker room ceases to exist, and all that remains is the awareness of him, close, real, and magnetic.
Shaky breaths betray my internal turmoil, but it’s not fear that courses through me; it’s a potent hunger, an ache that’s been building with every exchanged place and lingering touch. I can’t help but wonder if Eddie feels the same, if the unspoken tension between us is, indeed, shared desire.
As the seconds stretch, I tilt my head up instinctively, seeking something unspoken, something I can’t quite name. Eddie’s lips barely brush mine in a teasing promise before he ducks his head down, closing the distance.
The first touch is electric, a spark that ignites a fire deep within. His lips on mine are soft, a gentle exploration that quickly deepens. It’s a kiss that speaks volumes, transcending the uncharted territory we find ourselves in. The world tilts on its axis as the taste of him floods my senses—warm, inviting and undeniably intoxicating.
Emotionally, it’s a whirlwind. There’s surge of longing, of a connection forged in the unspoken language of desire. My hands, initially uncertain, find their way to his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath my fingertips. The kiss is a dance, and my hands navigate the contours of his body, discovering the warmth and strength I’ve only imagined until now.
The kiss deepens, a seamless blend of passion and connection. It’s a dance of two souls finally acknowledging the unspoken yearning that has lingered between us. Eddie’s hands, too, explore the landscape of my back, leaving trails of fire in their wake. The world outside fades into insignificance as we lose ourselves in the shared intensity of the moment. But, just as the crescendo of emotions reached its peak, a sudden intrusion shatters the fragile bubble we’ve created. The locker room’s glass door swings open, and the hasty footsteps of another member echo in the room. Startled, we break apart, breathless and disorientated.
Buck stands frozen in the doorway, eyes widening in surprise. For a moment, the air crackles with an awkward tension as he stumbles over his words, “Uh, sorry, didn’t mean to… I just forgot my…uh, never mind.” He fumbles with his words, and the realisation of what he’s stumbled upon dawns on him.
Buck's awkward retreat leaves a lingering tension in the room, and Eddie and I exchange a silent acknowledgment of the unusual situation we find ourselves in. The locker room, usually a sanctuary of camaraderie, has transformed into a stage for an unintended revelation, and the unspoken tension between Eddie and me is now exposed, hanging palpably in the air. As Buck stumbles out of the doorway, hastily retreating from the unexpected scene, I meet Eddie's gaze. There's a mix of amusement and shared disbelief in his eyes. We're both caught in this strange, suspended moment where the line between friendship and something more has been irrevocably crossed.
Just as we begin to compose ourselves, Eddie glances behind him, his expression shifting. It's then that I notice the rest of the team, peering down from the upstairs balcony. The realisation hits us simultaneously — the glass walls of the locker rooms have turned our private moment into an unintentional public spectacle.
A chorus of surprised gasps and hushed whispers filters down from above. The team, usually a tight-knit family, now observes with a mix of curiosity and amusement. My cheeks flush with embarrassment, and Eddie, ever the composed one, smirks, perhaps trying to diffuse the tension with humour.
In that moment, our private revelation becomes a shared experience with the whole squad, and the locker room, once a haven of shared secrets, is now a glass-walled confessional. As Eddie and I exchange a resigned yet amused look, it's clear that the dynamics within the 118 have just taken an unexpected turn, and there's no going back.

Buck wasn’t supposed to react this way. He didn’t want to but he was scared because he didn’t want to lose you, again. He almost lost you months ago because of his insecurities that resulted into pushing you away. Buck didn’t want to end anything that he had with you like that but it happened again. And everything just because one of your old friends surprised you with a visit. Buck knew who your friend was. Kelly Severide.
You used to know him from work when you still lived in Chicago and you two grew close over time. One time it ended up in a hookup but it was after a heavy breakup from your former partner and Kelly was freshly out of a relationship as well. You were there for each other and it just happened but you didn’t decide to go further into that and stay with a close friendship. No weird or uncomfortable feelings. Kelly even helped you to pack your things after you decided to move away from Chicago to Los Angeles.
You sure did love Chicago even with its own thing that happened here and there. You loved the friendships you formed at work and in private. You even grew close over time with the other firefighters from Kelly’s work. But it was time for something new and Los Angeles was your decision. After your move, you needed some time to settle in. After all, you knew no one in this big city and it got you thinking of moving there and leaving everything behind you was the right decision.
But after you met Hen and Chimney you knew it was the best decision you ever did. You met them both at a bar giving out some drinks. They got you one as well and you ended up talking the whole time about each lives. You found out that both of them were firefighters at the 188 and you were looking for a job as a nurse. You knew you wanted to keep working as one since you liked it in Chicago. Especially if you were able to look after the kids there. Sure, it wasn’t always easy times but you wanted to help people and that was a good place to do it.
The three of you exchanged numbers and they invited you to come over to the 118 whenever you want to come over. After a few days you decided to visit them there and you got to know everybody else. Including Evan Buckley. Your now-boyfriend. You grew close with everyone and they welcomed you with much love. Especially your favourite person on earth, also known as your boyfriend. You started as friends and over the time you started hanging out together. Only the two of you and one day you asked him out on a date. With the help of Hen and Chimney actually.
They both noticed the admiring, stolen glances and heart eyes you and Buck gave each other when the other one wasn’t looking and they knew they had to do something. Buck finally needed to be happy again, after everything that happened with Taylor. From time-to-time Hen and Chimney started teasing you or Buck whenever you were alone with them. Or they teased both of you when you were in the same room. The blushed faces of you and Buck were the win of it for them and they knew they were on the right track.
You asked him out once you were alone. Well technically alone because you were sitting outside with him while the rest including Athena and her family were inside of her house getting ready the dinner. Before that Chimney and Hen were sitting with the both of you. Both of them shot you many glances towards Buck for you to finally ask him out because they knew he wouldn’t do it. He always told them 'They don’t like me in that way. They would never.' He was an idiot who was in love. That‘s why you had to make the first move. After gaining enough courage you gave them a glance to leave and they did.
You and Buck were talking about different stuff and after a comforting time of silence, you looked at him and asked him out. You were afraid he wasn’t ready to date again, after Taylor. But you had to shoot your shot, you didn’t want to gulp down your feelings anymore. You felt the most comfortable around Buck and he made you happy. He was your safe place. And you were his. He was blushing and told you he was waiting for this moment.
And in that very moment, you realized that it was the best decision to move to Los Angeles and make a fresh start. Because that‘s where you found your second family and the love of your life. Since then and many dates with Buck it has been two years. You recently moved in with Buck after he asked you to move in and you loved every second you were able to spend with each other. It has been over a year now since you asked him out.
It was a big surprise for you to see Kelly at your doorstep and smiling at you after you opened the door. You didn’t expect him there and especially not at this time. It was your day off with Buck and you wanted to spend it with him inside and some movies. So Buck wasn’t entirely fond of the sudden visit but he was happy for you. Kelly greeted him and apologized for interrupting any plans you might have had. You were happy to see your friend after some time again. You haven’t seen each other in a few months, perhaps it almost had been a year since you visited him and your other friends in Chicago. You missed them but everything that mattered was that you were happy. Here in Los Angeles, with Buck.
“I wanted to see where you live, Y/N/N. You’ve been telling us so much about this city, now it’s your turn to show me everything.” Kelly teased after you asked him what he was doing here. He still hugged you and you let him.
Your eyes went to Bucks who had a smile on his lips. He knew how much Kelly meant to you. The three of you spend the whole afternoon together. After a shower and getting ready, you went out with your friend and boyfriend. But the energy from Buck slightly shifted but you didn’t know why. And you didn’t ask him, you would have done it later. But you didn’t. You didn’t want to accuse Buck of anything and let it stay like that. Little did you know that you would actually regret this later.
Two days later you and Kelly visited Buck at the station. A place where Buck didn’t want to see him if he was being honest. He was already intrigued that he was at your shared home but seeing him at his workplace, knowing he was a firefighter too was something that made him feel not very good. But Buck wanted to be the good boyfriend he is and gulped down his feelings, he knew how happy you were having Kelly around but he was jealous about how happy he actually made you.
Bobby sensed how uncomfortable Buck looked and decided to have a talk with him in private. Buck told him everything and that he didn’t know what to do. He wanted to make you happy and if that meant having Kelly around, he‘d have to accept it. He wasn’t jealous of your friendship with him but about your past and it just made him more insecure about perhaps losing you. You were the light of his life. You made him the happiest person on earth and he didn’t want to lose that.
At the same evening, you sat together with Buck and ate dinner together. You just brought Kelly to the airport and said your goodbyes. Of course, you were sad but now you had more time again to spend with your boyfriend.
"Babe?" Buck mumbled while he poked in his food and looked up at you.
You didn’t look up to him because you were too focused on eating but after he mentioned your name again you immediately looked up.
"Did you hear me?" He asked, slightly upset but he didn’t show it.
You shook your head. "I‘m sorry, no. Is everything okay?" You asked him, not sensing what would happen in the next few minutes.
The look on his face was serious and something was hiding behind his eyes. You knew that. "Not really."
You gulped down the food and worry entered your body. "Tell me what‘s wrong, babe," You tried to take his hand but he put his away. You put your eyebrows together, "Buck, what’s wrong?"
You started imagining all the different potentials that he could say at that moment. Many good ones but a lot of bad ones. What if he decided it wouldn’t work out between you two? What if he regrets it to let you move in with him? What if…
"We need to talk."
Yep, you were sure he would break up with you. You only nodded your head, slowly. You weren’t sure what you should say, so you let him talk.
"A-about Kelly."
You were confused. "What? Why? Did he do something?"
"Not exactly I-" He stuttered.
"Then what‘s the problem?" You interrupted him. You knew you should have let him finish whatever he wanted to say but you got into this defensive mood.
He sighed, not entirely knowing how to continue this. And seeing the stern look on your face made him regret that he even started to talk about it. Buck got up and took the plates to put them in the sink, you followed him.
You put one of your hands on his arm and turned his body to you. "Tell me what‘s on your mind, Buck."
He shook his head. "It‘s nothing. Just forget."
"You know I won’t. Tell me. Don’t push me away." You looked up to him, hoping he would give in and tell you what was going on in his mind.
"I don’t really like him, okay?!" He told you and you took a step back. Not knowing what to say.
"Why?”
He sighed and held the bridge of his nose. "I- I don’t like him. He‘s.." He stopped and looked at you. "He‘s an asshole."
"And you think that for what exact reason, Buck?" You laughed in disbelief and turned around. You went back to the table to clean it.
He didn’t like that you continued to call him ‘Buck’. Sure, it was his name but you barely used this name for him. Mostly you always used pet names for him unless you were talking about him with someone else obviously. But that you were using his name showed the importance of the current topic.
"I don’t like how he slept with so many peo-"
"Just like you did, Buck." You interrupted him. You couldn’t believe he was acting this way, especially right now. He could’ve said something earlier. Maybe before Kelly left Los Angeles. But that he was using this was the irony in itself.
Buck stopped talking and looked at the back of your head. He regrets that he even mentioned Kelly. He sighed and needed to find a way how to stop this conversation.
"If you‘re really upset about this then just forget it, Buck. It‘s in the past and I don’t care." You didn’t want to argue but you both were too upset at that moment. He didn’t say anything and just looked at you after you finally turned around again.
You sighed and continued talking, "I don’t blame you for having sex with so many people before we got into this relationship, so why is that such a problem for you?" You slightly raised your voice.
"Because of you, Y/N! Because he slept with you! That’s my problem, okay?! You and he had sex together," He admitted. His voice matched your tone now.
You looked at him, lips pressed into a thin line. "How do you-" You were confused. You didn’t tell him that but that’s when it all sense for you.
Buck obviously found it out because of Kelly himself. There was no other way because only he knew about it. You remembered how Buck started acting distant after he and Kelly sat alone together while you were in the shower. It was the same day Kelly surprised you with his visit. After you came back from your shower Buck's energy towards you and especially Kelly shifted. Now it all made sense.
"It doesn’t matter. That‘s in the past, o-okay? It never meant a thing." You tried to assure him. After all, it was the truth.
"But it does to me. It matters to me because I see how close you are and I have no idea what exactly happened between the both of you. I see how happy he makes you in a way I can never do." His voice got quieter with each word. Tears were slowly building up in his eyes but he quickly blinked them away.
You came closer to him and shook your head. "Yes, he makes me happy," You told him and put your hands on Buck's face, "But not as happy as you make me. Whatever happened between Kelly and me years ago doesn’t mean anything to me or him. He is married to a wonderful woman. And I am happily in a relationship with you. The only one I care about is standing in front of me and that’s you, Buck. I don’t care about anyone that much like I care about you."
Buck sighed, he was insecure. "But it could happen again."
Your face completely fell, just like your hands. "What did you just say?" You stepped away from him. Tears building up in your eyes. You shook your head, hoping he didn’t say that. "I can’t believe you just said that.”
Regret was written on Buck’s face. He gulped and wanted to take back everything he said in the past minutes.
“You think that Kelly is an asshole? How about you take a look in the mirror, Buck? Because the only asshole I see right now is just you." You said.
Buck gulped. He didn’t mean to say these words, it just happened. "I- I didn’t mean that. It just came out. I-"
He came closer to you but you held out your hand. Signing to him to stop his moves and he immediately did. Tears were building up in his eyes even more now. He didn’t want to lose you. But what if it was already too late for that?
"I can’t do this right now." You whispered.
"Please…" He whispered as well but you took your jacket and walked to the door. "Don’t leave."
You faced the door and didn’t dare to turn around. Because you knew that if you did you would break down crying.
"I didn’t mean it, babe. I‘m just-"
You deeply breathed in and had to take a moment. "I‘ll be sleeping at Hen‘s place tonight. We should step away from each other for now. To… To think about what just happened here." You left the apartment and after the door closed behind you, all that was left was Buck crying. He couldn’t sleep that night and the following nights were even more horrible.
After Hen saw you crying at her door, she immediately let you in. Karen and Hen were there for you. They always were whenever you needed someone to talk to. They let you stay at their house for the next few days and didn’t pressure you into talking. That you were staying at Hen’s house resulted in: her sending diggers into Bucks back at work. She knew what he said to you and wasn’t pleased with that. But she didn’t confront him about it, only because you begged her not to do it. Hen didn’t want to cause more harm into this but Buck knew that you probably told her what happened between you and him. He wanted to talk about it with her but whenever Buck tried to approach her, a new call sent them to an incident.
Buck was devastated. His energy wasn’t the same anymore since you left. Neither at work nor certainly not at home. All he could think about was you. Even more than usual. He needed to fix whatever was left between you. Buck didn’t and couldn’t lose you, just because of his jealousy and insecurities. You were everything to him. You were his safe place.
——————
It was late in the evening. Buck was with Christopher and Eddie in the apartment of you and him. Eddie came over with Chris to cheer him up and get him on different thoughts. That’s what Eddie told Buck but there was a completely different reason why he came over. Sure, they were there to cheer Buck up but after all, it was just because of you. It had been a few days since the argument between Buck and you. Not to forget to mention that you haven’t put a foot in your home since then. Only when you knew Buck wasn’t there as well. Thanks to Hen or Eddie texting you at work or when they were in Buck’s near and making sure you didn’t have to see him. You needed the time to think and make your decisions. You knew you’d forgive Buck but you were still anxious about confronting him about it. You knew he’d give you all the time you would need but you didn’t want to let him wait forever.
Buck and Eddie were currently watching Chris in the living room while he played one of his video games on the TV. Usually, you’d sit there with them and either play with Chris together or talk with the two men. Eddie was talking some sense into Buck's mind to fix this with you. He told him that everything would be fine and that you just needed time. Buck just didn’t know how he could fix this. Should he approach you at Hen’s house? Should he approach you at work? Or should he wait it out and hope that magic will fix this between you?
But luckily none of this had to be done because the next thing Buck heard were your keys opening the door. And there you stood. Nervous in the middle of the door. Your eyes met his. His eyes were filled with worry and regret. Yours were filled with sadness but love. You slightly smiled but it was more like your try to not be so nervous. You closed the door behind you and eventually looked at Eddie who was standing next to Buck.
"Hi, Eddie." You greeted him with a smile which he returned.
Eddie drank down the rest of his beer and called Chris so they could go. He already knew that you wanted to talk with Buck tonight, that‘s why he was here. You knew how much Chris meant to Buck, which is why you begged Eddie to be there and calm him down. You weren’t angry at Buck, just disappointed in him and yourself. Eddie agreed into helping you but didn’t tell Buck about it. Overall, you were happy to have such amazing friends.
"Chris and I just wanted to go," Eddie smiled and saw Buck's pleading eyes not to go.
Buck was scared but this didn’t faze Eddie at all. He just patted his shoulder. "You‘ve got this, bud." He whispered to him and called Chris.
You put off your jacket and watched Chris coming over to the three of you. His face instantly lit up after seeing you and he immediately hugged you after he was at your side.
"Hi there," You smiled down at him and hugged him back.
After saying your goodbyes to Eddie and Chris, they left you alone with Buck. A few minutes passed by.
"So..." You both said at the same time and ended up chuckling together. The air in the room was still awkward. Especially because you were still standing in the kitchen but so far away from each other that it might hurt but neither you nor him dared to step closer to each other.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N." He told you.
You nodded your head. "I know, Buck,” you bit down on your lower lip. “I am sorry as well. I shouldn’t just have left without calling you. The past few days have been-“
“Horrible.” You both said at the same time again. You both shared sad smiles with each other.
You looked at Buck with tears in your eyes. “I think we should have a talk.”
Buck's legs were like jelly after you said those words. Saying he was scared was an understatement. He was terrified. You both stepped a few inches closer but there was still a distance between you.
"I‘m not angry at you, okay? I‘m just.. I don’t know. Disappointed," You began, your voice and lips were trembling. "Not just at you. I’m disappointed in myself." You admitted and took a deep breath.
He put his eyebrows together and shook his head. "There‘s no need to. I understand if you‘re disappointed in me but-" He moved his body forward to you.
"I should have told you about my past with Kelly. About what happened back then and that I indeed had sex with him. If I would have told you the truth in the first place, then we wouldn’t have fought."
Buck slowly nodded his head, he didn’t want to interrupt you and let you continue to talk.
"When I tell you that it meant nothing, then it‘s the complete truth, okay? At the time when Kelly and I slept together, he just got out of a serious relationship and I…” You took a small pause.
“I basically had an identity crisis," You chuckled. "He and I had way too many drinks in our bodies and it just happened but it meant nothing. We don’t even talk about it anymore because it’s in the past." You looked at Buck with much love.
Buck realized he was an idiot, maybe a bit too late but hopefully not too late. "I‘m an idiot."
"Yes, you are. A very jealous idiot.” You agreed but smiled at him. “But I understand. I was once a jealous idiot as well because of you."
"What do you mean?" Now it was his turn to be confused.
You looked down, embarrassed of your next words. "I was jealous because of Taylor and you. Back then when we started to get to know each other all you had on your mind was her. And I was utterly jealous of that.” You looked back up to him. He was now closer to you. “Because I wanted to be the one you talk about like that. The one you look at with so much love and the one you‘re happy with. You have no idea how jealous I was when you told me that you both are together. I saw this as a sign to take a step back from you and that was also the reason why we stopped seeing each other so much." You sighed.
"And when you broke up with her, I was so happy. I could have used this for my own good but I didn’t because I knew what you needed was a friend. And then we just happened after we grew closer again."
He smiled at you now. "And now we‘re here. One year later."
You nodded your head. "I admit what you said hurt me a lot-"
"And I will regret this for the rest of my life. I was in the wrong place for reacting the way I did. I admit I was jealous and hurt that I had to find it out because of him and not from you. But I could have approached you differently. I’m so sorry, babe." You had tears in your eyes, one rolled down your cheek which he immediately wiped away. " I‘ll make sure to show you every single day how sorry I am for saying this and accusing you of-"
You hugged him without saying anything and he wrapped his arms around you to keep you close. You needed this. You needed to feel his warmth again. You missed him too much. And he needed it as much as you did.
"Please don’t ever leave me." You whispered.
"I could never," He kissed the side of your head. "And I would never. You‘re the love of my life."
You looked up to him. “And you’re the love of my life, Buck. And I couldn’t imagine a life without anymore.” As a reply, he kissed you with much love and desire he felt for you.

Being in a relationship with Maddie and Chimney
( Reader is female )
We all love Madney
- Being the spouse of a 9-1-1 Dispatcher and a firefighter was like playing with fire in other words
- You guys visit the amusement park every once in a while
- Let's just say after you got off the rollercoaster, your stomach was not happy with you at all
- Yup turns out you got sick
- It was basically a flu that was contagious and could spread if anybody touched you
- You laid in bed with an ice pack on your head and a thermometer and you were curled up in absll trying to get comfortable to get your mind off the sickness but, unfortunately get cold and hot
- Your always trying to get them to stop arguing on whether to cook you spicy soup or poridge
- You always trying to scream at them but, you were starting to lose your voice throughout the days
- So now when you were curled up in the ball with an ice and a thermometer, you were grumpy cause you couldn't speak
- So you had to use sign language or write in a note book
- So in order to test your stamina and durability you wrote on a note saying, " I'm going to go out side and get some spicy wings my self."
- Of course both of them freaked out and thought you were crazy but soon understood your desicion and decided to let you go
- You got dressed with a scarf , hat, sweater, jeans, mask and headed outside
- You came back looking like you got hit down by a truck but managed to get the hot wings
- You took out one spicy wing and ate it then your eyes bloomed with flames and you almost choked but, stayed alive
- You never knew it would all come down to this, all because you threw up at the amusement park
- You suddenly became hot and threw off your hat and scarf
- You went to go and grab cheese and milk but it didn't help
- Both Maddie and Chimney we're upset at you and scolded you.
- But don't worry they still love you very much
- You continued to eat the spicy wings even though it hurt, then slowly your voice came back and you were able to speak
- Maddie and Chimney we're so happy that they wanted to cuddle you so bad but they couldn't cuz of the flu and how it's contagious
- They still give you air hugs

ᕚ---ᕘ
You stood nervously in the middle of a secluded examination room, your expression focused as you quickly put on the disposable gloves and prepared yourself for the task at hand. You were assigned an aggressive patient, tormented by pain and under the possible influence of drugs. His gaze is wide open between the gathering of nurses who are trying to hold him down on the stretcher, his pupils dilated and his movements uncontrolled while gesticulating wildly. The man seemed out of control and full of anger, sending a shiver of fear down your spine.
Various utensils were scattered on the floor, and the medical ultrasound machine lay overturned on the floor and yet you approached the patient with calm determination but caution, trying not to be intimidated by his aggression. A tense atmosphere filled the room as you struggled to take the necessary medical measures.
Drawing up a syringe with your shaky hands and keeping it ready to calm the patient down, you knew you had to proceed with caution to avoid escalating the situation as the man uttered unintelligible profanities and tries to break away. In a state of delirious rage, he vehemently resisted the touch and in a sudden rush of aggression, he reached for you and hit you with a powerful punch in the stomach. "Go away! Leave me alone!"
You stumbled back, feeling the sharp pain in your side, but despite the shock and injury, you remained calm and focused. With practiced hands you continued to try to treat the patient, still holding the syringe in your fist, while at the same time he tried to protect himself. "Please calm down, Mr. Johnson. We just want to help you." Another push from him made you fall violently into one of the standing cabinets, the needle of the syringe piercing your thigh.
“Damn,” you groaned, looking down. Luckily the sedative had not come loose due to the impact and was still completely in the syringe, so you had nothing to worry about. However, the relentless beeping of the machines near you worried you. With a short scream, you quickly pulled the needle from your leg and threw the used syringe into the sink before standing up and looking at your colleagues. "Get the police in here. They should put the guy in chains, it is too dangerous for us.“
One of the male nurses nodded at you and let go of the guy on the lounger. He quickly ran out of the room and let the other sisters fight the man with all their might. Without further ado, he came back with two officers and surprisingly, you looked into the face of your girlfriend and her long-time partner, Officer Rodriquez. „Doctor, how can we support you?“ she asked professionally with a smile on her lips, and you breathed a sigh of relief as you pointed at the young man. A small grin appeared on your face too at the sight of her. She was wearing her uniform, the taser holster already open just in case while gloves were up to her wrists to intervene safely whenever you needed her. "He is very aggressive. We have to give him an injection, but he fights back with all his might."
It was only when you pushed yourself up from your leaning position and hobbled along to the syringes to put on a new one that she noticed that a blood stain had formed on your thigh; showing through your blue pants. "You are hurt, are you okay?" There was concern in her voice that you could clearly hear. Both Athena and her partner cautiously approached Mr. Johnson, trying to calm him down while you prepared the injection of a sedative. However, Athena's gaze was focused on you, demanding an answer. "I am okay, nothing happened."
The police officer was not really convinced by your answer, but would deal with you later and care for you. Officer Rodriguez spoke soothingly to the man, diverting his attention as he helped the nurses hold him on the gurney while you cautiously approached him behind Athena. With the help of the two police officers, you finally managed to calm him down and give the injection. Slowly, Mr. Johnson relaxed, twitching briefly before his anger subsided and his thrashing became weaker until he finally fell into a more peaceful sleep.
Your people exhale in relief as you continue to keep an eye on the patient, watching his heartbeat slow down. "One of you must remain here with the nurses to provide them with protection should he wake up again," you stated as you freed yourself from the utensils you had been using and successfully threw your gloves into the trash can. Before you left the room, you addressed your employees. "He needs to be monitored around the clock. Call me as soon as anything changes in his condition. Give him fluids, a liter of saline to start with."
The door closed behind you and you walked towards a free room to treat your wound. However, before you had even reached your destination, an arm sneaked around your waist as a kiss was planted on your temple. "Hey, 'thena." You whispered, giggling and leaning against her side. Supportively, she helped you into another room where she ordered you to sit down while you told her what you needed to patch yourself up. "How many times have I told you that once you get an aggressive patient, you do not do anything until you call the cops into the room?"
“Often enough,” you admitted, placing a hand over your furrowed brow before standing up and gently brushing your pants down your thigh. "But the work must be done, even under these extremely difficult circumstances." Her head shook several times as she walked towards you and placed the things you needed on the cupboard. Athena took a seat in the chair in front of you and began cleaning the wound with disinfectant.
You clenched your teeth, let out a painful hiss, and squeezed your eyes shut as the cotton pad dipped in alcohol glided over your skin. "'thena, you know that I am actually the doctor, right?" you muttered under you breath and clawed into the foam with all your strength. "Babe, but you know I do not care, right?"
