Sticker for Kodak 828 Format Panatomic (F-828) and Super X Panatomic (X-828) Use Found in Bantam f.8 Camera, Circa 1938 - 1939 by Kirk Thorsteinson Via Flickr: Sticker for Kodak 828 Format Panatomic (F-828) and Super X Panatomic (X-828) Use Found in Bantam f.8 Camera, Circa 1938 - 1939 The Kodak Bantam f.8 is from Kodak's series of "Bantam" folding pocket sized cameras produced from 1935 to 1953. Kodak introduced this telescoping-lens-tube variant of the series in 1938 and was produced until 1942. This was one of many cameras designed by Walter Dorwin Teaque. The back clasp identifies the model and it has a fixed f/8 aperture Kodalinear 40mm lens. It utilized 828 film which was Kodak's 35mm paper-backed roll film, yielding 8 exposures per roll. This collection has two examples of the Bantam f.8 Bakelite camera. The first example, having its original box and manual, was made in the USA. The manual was printed Aug 1938, likely with the initial launch of the camera (TPHC Item No. 20040405_ 3806919220_01). The second example, also with its box and manual, was made in Toronto by the Canadian Kodak Co. Ltd. The manual for that camera was printed July 1939) (TPHC Item No. 19982000_0205). Bantam f.8 cameras made for the USA and Canadian markets are nearly identical, except for a slightly different film advance knob and the different identifying labels / name plates. The accompanying manuals were both printed in the USA, but were printed in different years as the Canadian version of the camera was likely release 1 year later. It was common for Kodak camera models made in Canada to be released slightly after release of the same model made in the USA. There are differences in the manual, but those differences pertain to film type recommendations and most likely reflect the launch of improved film types and/or those specific film types in the 828 film format between 1938 and 1939. The Kodak Bantam series of cameras used Kodak’s 828 film. It was a 35 mm roll film with a paper backing that Kodak launched in 1935 with this camera series. The smaller spool and lack of sprocket holes allowed for smaller camera designs. 828 film used the same basic film stock as 135 film (standard 35 mm film) however 828 film had a single perforation per frame on one side of the film and 828 film had a smaller diameter spool than standard 35 mm film. The standard image size was 40 x 28 mm and each roll of 828 film produced eight exposures. The spool also used a unique set of external “teeth” at either end of the spool to lock into the cameras film advance mechanism. It is unclear what film emulsions were available at the time of launch of the film format. However, 1936 North American advertisements announcing the new Kodak Bantam Special camera refer to the use [1] Kodak Panatomic and [2] Kodak Super-X films with that camera. The Kodak Bantam instruction manual dated Aug 1938 from this collection indicates that 828 film was still available in the same emulsions; Kodak Panatomic (F828) film and Kodak Super X Panatomic (X828). The film sticker on the inside of both cameras in this collection indicates that these two films should be used in those cameras. However, in a Bantam Manual from the Canadian market dated July 1939 (also from this collection), the film format was now being offered in four emulsions; Kodak Panatomic (F828) film, Kodak Panatomic-X (FX828) film, Kodak Plus-X (PX828) film, and Kodak Super-XX Panchromatic (XX828) #Kodak, #EastmanKodak, #EastmanKodakCo.Ltd., #CanadianKodak, #CanadianKodakCo.Ltd., #Bantam, #KodakBantam, #KodakBantamf8, #Bakelite, #Bakelitecamera, #WalterDorwinTeaque, #828, #828rollfilm, #828format, #Kodalinear, #Kodakfilm, #KodakPanatomic, #KodakPanatomic-X, #KodakSuperX, #KodakPlusX, #KodakSuperXX,

#Japan #Tokyo - Harajuku JR Station 1992 - Kodachrome PKR64 35mm.
Kodachrome first introduce in 1936 and sold in 35mm Aluminum cassette with a Plastic Tip as it was sold at the 1939 World's Fair in New York as it was a film Speed of "10" then in the future years it expanded to ISO 25 - 64 then to 200. And the main apart of Kodachrome back then that it was on ALL Formats, 35mm, for the price of $3.50. With the other formats like 828, 127, 120, 620, 616, Sheet Film 4x5 to 8x10, and 16mm to Regular8 then Super8. In those days that Kodak would printed on the film box Kodachrome for 35mm for Contax, Retina, and Leica models. Then later years Kodak reduced it to 35mm down to 110 to 126 format. As in the mid 1980's Kodachrome is available back in 120 format, then came Fuji Velvia50 & 100 which kill Kodachrome in 120, then Fuji raise the price of Velvia 50 in which it was about the price of Kodachrome PKR64 35mm $20.00 to $25.00 A Roll, Slide film now is Fuji Provia 100, and Kodak E100. When I was in Japan in 92' I had Kodachrome, and Ektachrome 200 & 400 Now they are gone.. Fuji if only they could split the company like Ilford did one division is there Digital Graphics, and the the other is the Photo Film Division, and they are still making money... So Come on Fuji Grow Up, Spilt the company, and make film again....

I am very pleased to have got a full roll of shots from this little experiment. The film expired in January 1978 and is a Kodacolor II 80 ASA film. I opened up the aperture and thankfully it was a bright sunny day otherwise I wouldn't have shot the roll. Usually developed using C-22 process chemicals I ran it through a bath using Rodinal 1+25 for 18 minutes. The film has clearly degraded but is still functioning just enough to produce some lovely results.

Three singles were released from late 1966 and were all credited to Eric Burdon & the Animals but were in all probability Burdon and session musicians. They were:
 1. SEE SEE RIDER
2. MAMA TOLD ME NOT TO COME (recorded successfully by Three Dog Night)
3. HELP ME GIRL
In the two years 1967-68 Burdon released the following singles with his band Eric Burdon and the New Animals:
 WHEN I WAS YOUNG
SAN FRANSICAN NIGHTS
GOOD TIMES (1967)
MONTEREY
SKY PILOT (1968)

Post-AGT Appearance 828: Real Time with Bill Maher August 4
Aaaaaaaaaaavonelle would end the month of July at 16 on the country chart and start reversing direction, down to 28 on the American top 40.  My agent would be flooded with new talent by now and would have revised his goals to having at least one song active on the list at all times, so the decision to not release the next duet until the tour in November would be firm but which to release would be in doubt.  Because bill Maher and I were both associated with The World’s Most Disgusting Comedian we would have decided not to appear together until nearly the release date and August 4 would be the perfect date.  Then Al Gore’s latest film-an Inconvenient Sequel would open that day making him the show’s featured guest.  Of course I can’t write a script that includes me being on the panel unless I get the whole transcript, put myself in place of one of the guests and adjust the dialogue accordingly.  That’s too much work.  I did try to get a video of the actual show to see how I’d fit, but that didn’t work.  So I decided this is how it would have gone.
Maher: Thank you.  An Inconvenient Sequel is in theaters starting today.  Before you go Mr. Vice President, our next guest would like to meet you.  His name’s Phil Cole.  Do you know who he is/
Gore: Yes, I do.
Maher: He’s a real big fan of yours.  Here he is.  Thank you.
Gore: I wouldn’t have thought you’d be a big fan of mine.
PBC: Yes, for over 7 and a half years I was wishing you’d be the next President.
Gore: Really?
PBC: Yes, I was hoping Bill would resign.
Gore: Oh well.
Maher: Thank you again for joining us, Mr. Gore.
Gore: My pleasure.
Maher: So Phil, do you believe in all this global warming nonsense?
PBC: Yes, I believe in global warming and I like it.  If I get real old I want it to be a little warmer not a little colder.  Don’t you folks, young people?
Maher: That explains some recent elections.
PBC: Don’t forget, most climate change deniers live in the south, and they’d love not to worry about that one February frost that ruins the orange harvest.  I live in New England, and I don’t need to see pictures of Mount Kilimanjaro to believe winters are warmer than they used to be.  I remember the winters when I was a kid, snow over my head...
Maher: You were a lot shorter then.
PBC: Lots of days off from school, eating snow.
Maher: What’s it taste like.
PBC: We flavored it...with urine.
Maher: Oh boy.
PBC: Even though it was near big smoggy cities I lived close to nature.  They say Davy Crockett was raised in the woods so he knew every tree.
Maher: That’s how the song goes.
PBC: I lived in the woods, so I peed on every tree.
Maher: Ha ha ha well we...we ahh.
PBC: Also I’m not surprised Kilimanjaro has more snow on it...since it’s climbed every week by men in heated tents!  That’ll melt some snow.  Honestly though, I’ve always hung around with old people, very old people, and they assured me not only are winters milder now, but were milder when I was a child than when they were a child 50 years earlier.  That’s enough proof for me.
Maher: Well, we’re almost out of time already, and I invited you here...
PBC: Was I invited, I forgot?
Maher: Ha ha ha, yes I invited you here to talk about your progress in building the Libertarian Party.
PBC: Yes, the party just enlisted its one millionth member.  It doesn’t cost anything, but you do have to go to your local town hall to make that official.  Don’t bring your drugs with you.  You don’t want to make it that easy for them.
Maher: So there is some danger involved.
PBC: Yes, but it’s worth it, and we really want some people who are pot-free, like myself, to join, because that way you might remember to vote.
Maher: That’s right.  Election day is the one day you want your mind clear.
PBC: I know a lot of you take drugs to forget about politics, but once in a while there’s a chance to make a difference.
Maher: So your comedy act now includes a recruiting segment.
PBC: That’s right.  I’m trying to make my performances a non-profit organization (since I usually don’t make any money on the deal anyway).
Maher: So we have a clip from how you recruit.  Roll the film.
(Film starts.)
PBC: Any drug users here?  Ok, you’re brave.  There are 25 uniformed police in the room plus 4 detectives.  They’d all be glad to escort you to your hotel for the evening.  Anyway, you should join the Libertarian Party.  Our goal is to make your drugs legal, safe and rare, rare by taking the fun out of it and taxing them more than gasoline and cigarettes.  So join.  Guess what?  With those taxes we can eliminate the IRS.  Any of you straight-laced conservatives like to get rid of the IRS?  You should join too.  They say politics makes strange bedfellows. In fact, I’m pretty sure some of these druggies will be glad to join you in bed after one of our meetings.  We have a sign-up sheet by the door.
(Film ends.)
PBC: So you see, the Libertarian combines the best elements-or maybe the worst-of the constituencies of both major parties.  If you think clearly...
Maher: Admittedly hard for many Libertarians.
PBC: Yes, you’ll see the Libertarian Party is where you really belong.
Maher: Thank you.  Remember Phil and I are both in the upcoming movie The World’s most Disgusting Comedian, coming out November 3.
PBC:   Also starring Amy Schumer, Jon Stewart, who also directed it, William Shatner, playing himself so he doesn’t have to try to act, and that amateur...what’s his name?
Maher: Matthew McConaghey.
PBC: Spoiler alert: that guy doesn’t have one funny line in the movie.
Maher: It’s not a comedy.  He plays the police detective.  Anyway, thank you Phil for joining us.
PBC: My pleasure.
