Burger Time (Handheld, Bandai, 1983)
Not the classic arcade game, but a reasonable facsimilie! You can play it in your browser here.
Controls: arrows, Ctrl, Alt. You may need to click the speaker icon to turn on sound.

Has the number 2 ranking in this video:

Gaming: Nintendo Game Boy (1989)
I get a lot that people have a hard time believing that I'm a nerd... but I grew up with a Nintendo controller in my hand.

While I love these items and want to keep them, I need to make space and extra money to move again. I can ship in the USA; ask about shipping to your country if you’re not here and we can see if it’s a possibility! DM me about any of these items.

Midnight Pals: The Bad Timeline
Harry Turtledove: greetings citizens of earth 16 Poe: hi harry King: hi harry Koontz: hi Lovecraft: hello Barker: hey Turtledove: i hope that the timeline hasn't been irrevocably altered during my uneventful absence
Turtledove: i'm back from my secret mission on behalf of the Temporal Corps correcting the timeline Thomas Disch: ah i see you've been playing the classic Legend video game Timequest by Bob Bates! Turtledove: Turtledove: video game?!?!? Turtledove: this is real life!
Turtledove: i'm happy to report that I've finally corrected the damage done to the timeline Turtledove: and history is back on its proper trajectory King: Poe: Koontz: Barker: Lovecraft: Poe: you're sure history is on the right trajectory? Turtledove: of course Poe: nothing could have happened to make it go wrong? Turtledove: well Turtledove: if i'm being totally honest Turtledove: i did accidentally squash a bug back in the Mesozoic Turtledove: but it was just one bug Turtledove: i'm sure it's fine Turtledove: it's probably fine Turtledove: boy i'm hungry Turtledove: anyone got any dodo eggs? Poe: harry dodos have been extinct for hundreds of years Turtledove: what? no no that can't be Turtledove: i mean i know they were endangered back in the 80s Turtledove: but after president Mondale's reintroduction program... Poe: oh boy harry Poe: maybe you should sit down
Turtledove: what? Ronald Reagan??! Poe: yeah Turtledove: the actor??? Poe: yeah Turtledove: no no the timeline's all wrong! Turtledove: [adjusting mysterious handheld device] great scott i must have transfigurated the chronometer instead of recontrabulating the interspekulon! Barker: oh yeah that explains it Poe: clive
Turtledove: who's president now Poe: it's Donald trump Turtledove: Poe: again Turtledove: Turtledove: oh you guys are fucked
Turtledove: [holding mysterious device] let me just check the readings Turtledove: oh boy, no wonder King: what is it? Turtledove: you guys are just lousy with tachyons King: is that good? Turtledove: no! Turtledove: it's bad! Turtledove: it's very very bad!
Turtledove: obviously this timeline can only be the work of my arch nemesis Turtledove: the evil leaper King: the evil leaper? Turtledove: yes, he leaps from time to time, striving to make wrong I set right Turtledove: Ray Bradbury King: Koontz: Poe: Lovecraft: Barker: i gotta say, i was not expecting that
Ray Bradbury: it's me ray Bradbury Bradbury: that's right! i'm altering the timeline! Bradbury: soon it will all be malt soda shops and ruddy-cheeked little girls, ice cream socials, hay rides in the brisk autumn evening, lazy summer afternoons down at the ol' fishin hole Bradbury: the eternal 1930!

I was expecting the Switch 2 to be $450 given the technology bump and inflation.
Like, have you seen the price of PC handhelds? 450 plus a free dock is basically a steal.
Those games though really took the wind out of the sails. They really 3DS’d it this time, and with the complete radio silence and no Iwata to talk anything down the situation looks worse than bad. When was the last time Doug Bowser talked to the public?
If Reggie Fils-Aime was still there he would’ve fist fought Nintendo to make their Switch 2 tutorial a pack-in like he did for Wii Sports. Like, who’s paying 5-10 for that thing?
It’s kinda funny how badly they dropped the ball. They were so close to not screwing this up, they won. They had it all.
And then boom: $80 Mario Kart.
I don’t even care about Mario Kart. I don’t even care about upgrading my TOTK frames. But they’ve messed up what the perceived standard is. Even if all other prices are variable or their standard is $70 like Sony did at the advent of the PS5, first impressions are everything.
It’s kinda funny. Literally their best option is to do the 3DS situation all over again.
Unless the current president also does an apology tour, price slash, and a pay cut I don’t know how they’re fixing this.
I was never gonna get the thing on launch, I don’t have that kind of money. But even if I did, I wouldn’t have the kind of money to get a game.
I’m sure they’re putting out a lot of fires right now and I wish I could watch because it’s gotta be so funny seeing how their PR team is trying to spin this. And the president sitting there, lamenting their lack of sociability to come out to the public and do something.
Just raised through the ranks of accounting and just wanted to crunch numbers behind the scenes and now NOA and NOJ have no PR.

Note
What are your thoughts on duskbloods as a game and do you think it releasing could signify the end of pvp in the mainline games?
The end of PvP in the mainline games has been foreshadowed by the massive cut multiplayer in Elden Ring has received compared to other fromsoft games. Duskbloods won't make an impact because it's exclusive on a handheld console that costs 450 doubloons and 80 dollars for the game itself.
While I wouldn't panic, the fact that Nightreign doesn't have PvP after a lackluster PvP experience of Elden Ring is upsetting. I hope the next Big Fromsoft Game won't leave PvP and invasions specifically behind.

Revenge of the 'Gator
One genre HAL Laboratory dabbled in during their early years was the burgeoning pinball scene, producing solid adaptations of the classic arcade game with the likes of Pinball for NES, Rollerball on the MSX and its superior NES do-over in the late 80s. This carried on into the Game Boy, with their charmingly reptilian-themed Revenge of the ‘Gator hitting the handheld a few months into its existence.
