Ilya told the woman from Paris that Red is a fake. Red told Liz that the woman from Paris was a fake. Common sense takes this back to 7x1. The woman from Paris is acting as the real Katarina, hoping to get answers from the real Red that will lead her to the real Katarina. While Red is acting as the real Red, in hopes this imposter doesn’t learn hes the real Katarina. Just as Jennifer and Liz worked as half truth and whole truth for Garvey in S5, both imposters act as half truth and whole truth in S7. For Jennifer and Liz, it was sharing the same father but having different mothers - Carla & Katarina. For these imposters, it’s sharing the same identity but having two different plans - Ilya’s Becoming Reddington plan & Dom’s Becoming Rostova plan.
So... both are acting as the real deal despite both being imposters, and Red is the only one who knows the whole truth. Reevaluating what the woman from Paris could’ve learned in the first half after learning he’s an imposter. In 6x22, Raymond and Katarina interact as one woud expect if both are acting as the real deal, despite both being imposters. Taking note that Ilya in 7x15 runs in the opposite position as the woman in 6x22 - being watched from the street rather than from above. This makes me question who was watching them in 6x22, as I believe Ilya would’ve contacted Dembe immediately after Red was taken. It only makes sense that if Katarina believes Red to be the real Red, she’d take him to Annaoplis. What Red shows the woman from Paris in 7x1: He’s intelligent. He has fine taste in music and dining. He’s resourceful with the alarm clock. He was quick to catch onto their con. He has no problem drugging Steinhil. He speaks as the real Red to everyone involved. He denies knowing who assaulted him in Paris. He makes several references to Katarina being an illusion. Marvin Gerard is a lead despite being in prison. They question Cooper’s connection to Red. Consider Harold Cooper a lead, his DOJ file and the blacklist. Daniel Hutton is a lead despite being dead. He speaks to Frankie as a man who loves women, and refers to the woman from Paris as Katarina. All of these need to be reconsidered in new context. At the end of 7x1, they continue acting as if they’re the real deal when they’re both imposters. This is just one of several posts. It will take me time to consider every scene. I have a hard time believing she’ll dig into Cooper, Marvin, or Hutton for intel. In order for her to learn about the task force, she’d have to speak with someone from Tom’s side of the story. Someone like Gina, who happens to be the person I suspect she’ll reach out to.
It’s because of this, the only two things I’d consider from 7x1, is Cooper and the task force, as well as Red’s references to Katarina being an illusion. Context.
